We booked a 2d 1n lan ha bay with pick up from Hanoi. Had the best time and incredible guide Tony. Couldn’t recommend it enough and am so glad we got him as our guide. Definitely been a trip highlight!! Wish we booked for an another night. Pick up and communication was seemless. 100% would recommend you book it!

One of the highlights of our 8.5 week trip through SE Asia. The food was delicious and plentiful, the room spacious and clean, the boat crew were friendly and accommodating. The activities were never rushed, and the timing perfect. But what really made the tour special (aside from the incredible natural environment of course) was our guide. Tony was a great storyteller, and a master of working the crowd. Knowing exactly when to take centre stage to entertain us and when to hang back and let us take in the locale around us. Informative, professional, funny, friendly, and just generally a good guy. He knows a lot about the area and is excited to share it. The pictures he took were fantastic, and will be cherished forever. There's nothing better than having someone help you who seems to genuinely enjoy his job. Thank you Tony. Josh (and Cece) ❤️

We had an absolutely wonderful experience from beginning to end! Everything was perfectly organized, and we enjoyed every moment of the tour. The boat trip was beautiful, the food was delicious, and kayaking through the stunning scenery was definitely one of the highlights. There were so many amazing views and unforgettable moments along the way. Everything was well planned, but the atmosphere still felt relaxed and enjoyable, which made the experience even better. We never felt rushed, and there was really nothing missing. It was simply a fantastic way to explore this beautiful part of Vietnam. If you are doubting whether this experience is worth it, don’t. It absolutely is! We just finished our two day tour with Hang today and we are so glad we went for this. Not only thanks to the beauty of the two bays, but also thanks to our wonderful guide Hang. He is very experienced, has a wonderful sense of humor, and ensured to include some magic in the trip (literally). Cat ba ventures organised the trip exactly as promised in their description: a less touristy tour that remains magnificent and brings you to both Lan Ha and Ha Long bay. We were a group of 7 in total, on a boat meant for 25, the rooms were spacious, clean and all had a private bathroom. We received good, fresh seafood for both lunches and dinner. The trip is really worth the cost. You get an experienced guide for two days, a place to sleep and a friendly crew that cooks, cleans, navigates and serves you drinks. Worth every penny. Thank you Hang!

Had a great experience our Lan Ha Bay cruise. Cat Ba Ventures were very prompt and professional in organising pickup from Hanoi. Our guide, Tony, was knowledgeable, kind and helpful and we definitely experienced a quiet side of the bay - often arriving at Kayaking spots with no other boats and having the place to ourselves. Would recommend!

We chose CatBa ventures cruise deliberately as it was one of the very few offering a bigger variety of activities and we were very satisfied with our experience (kayaking, fishing, swimming in a small boat with less than 20 people). Our guide, Hang, was friendly, polite, helpful with all questions and he took us to some beautiful peaceful places with no other boats around. He even managed to see and show us a rare langur and a monkey. He had a great sense of humour and his magic tricks after dinner kept everyone entertained. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a peaceful, active trip to Lan Ha Bay.

We did the two days/one night on 28/29 october. The weather and the whole trip was wonderful. Our Guide Hang was really fantastic. He showed us the beautiful lagoons, was always helpful and He showed some of His magic tricks. He was really funny. A big thank you to the ship crew as Well. The Food and the rooms were amazing.

We had an amazing trip on the boat with Tony! We went to Cat Ba with the sleeperbus and arrived very early before the start of the tour. We could still take a little nap and a shower to refresh, which was very nice! The tour was so beautiful. We swam around and went kayaking. The food was good and our room was clean and big. It was also my birthday and they had cake for everyone which was very kind! We had the best time thanks to Tony who guided us through and explained a bit more about the area and told us fun facts! 😊

Hang was a great guide. He was wonderful with the kids and had clear communication for all aspects of the trip. It was a great experience - lots of swimming a kayaking without the crowds.

I would recommend this tour to everyone! Cat Ba Ventures took us on a beautiful tour through quiet areas with the best views. Our guide Ninh was very friendly, funny and we could ask him a lot about the environment. The staff on the boat were also very friendly and the food was very good. The rooms were clean and we slept good! Cat Ba Ventures also booked our bus and did everything they could to change our booking into an earlier bus. They were so helpful!

We had an amazing experience exploring Lan Ha Bay with Jack! 🛶🦑 He was a fantastic guide, always friendly, enthusiastic and happy to share his knowledge. Kayaking through the beautiful bay was incredible, and squid fishing and catching cuttlefish made the experience even more fun and authentic. But the real highlight was spotting the rare Cat Ba langurs in the wild — an unforgettable and truly special moment! Jack made the whole trip enjoyable, fun and memorable. Great experience! Cat Ba Ventures deliver what they promise. Book with them if you’re looking for a tour with a smaller group. There was a total of 8 people in our group, a bit bigger is possible though. Way better than the over the top luxury cruises we also saw in the bays. Our guide Cong was also amazing. Such a great and friendly personality who taught us a lot about the bays, the nature and animals, but also about Vietnam as a whole. Cat Ba can also arrange other things such as your transport there and back. We liked it enough that we booked the Viet Hai bicycle tour + navy peak hike, which was also amazing. Our guide here was Viet, which was also such a friendly guy, who taught us other and new things about Vietnam. Navy Peak is definitely worth the hike, what an amazing view! The lunch after was delicious. We came back very sweaty and muddy and had a bus booked right after. The organization then surprised us with offering us a shower at a hotel nearby. Life savers!!

Cat Ba is the secret tip to avoid Ha Long bay crowds, Cat Ba ventures is the secret tip to get to less touristy areas, to arrive at the kayaking spots when the other boats are leaving so you have the bay for yourself, magic! Our guide Ninh was amazing, the food was SO good and the cabins very comfortable. The whole trip exceeded my expectations by far!

I did my tour with Hang, he was absolutely fantastic. Made such an effort with everyone, and was very attentive so we had the best time. We were lucky enough to see monkeys as well because he spotted them. The food was also great for vegetarians so we didn’t go hungry. Highly recommend

We had a really great time on the 2 day boat trip in Lan Ha Bay. The trip was planned perfectly - plenty of time all activities including swimming, kayaking, fishing and of course eating. The spots for all activities were perfectly selected and we enjoyed discovering the beautiful scenery in a most friendly atmosphere. Our tour guide Tony took great care of organisation, gave us some exclusive insights into Vietnamese history, culture and most interesting information on the area making the trip a unique experience. His entertaining and friendly way of interacting made us feel at home and helped bring the group of tourists on the boat together as a team. Thanks to the small group size (we were 11 tourists on the boat) we had a very family-like experience rather than an anonymous treatment on a ship with 100 people.

This was an excellent cruise with a great guide, Hang. Terrific food. Away from the dense tourist crowd you encounter in most of Halong Bay. One suggestion for improvement. The kayaks lacked back support which was not a problem for most of our group but was for us 70 year olds.

We did this boat trip as a family with 2 children (9 y and 12 y) and had a wonderful time. We were a small group of only 11 people on the boat with our great tour guide Tony. The kayaking tours were definitely our highlights. Also the (optional) transfer from Hanoi was organized very well.

It was agreat experience and we indeed we're able to go to quiter spots. Tony was great!

Hang made the trip - he was the best tour guide we have had all holiday! It was a lovely 24 hrs on the water :) he knew all the secret caves and knew how to keep us entertained which is impressive. Highly recommend this tour!!!

Truly amazing experience ! I have been to the Ha Long bay several times in the past few years, but never experienced such chill and peaceful boat trip. The Lan Ha bay is much much quieter, we were almost always alone in the bay.😍 Also, the guide Tony is so friendly and have some great story to tell, with a perfect English 😃 Kayaking activity in the secret places of the bay, alone surrounded by the big rocks (and some monkeys as well) Food was great, people were nice, room was amazing… I highly highly recommand this tour with Cat BaVenture. The most romantic escapade with stunning view each instant. 😍 Thank you to our guide Tony 😃👍👍
