Bioluminescent Plankton Boat Tour

Tour guide was very friendly and dinner at his family restaurant was wholesome . There was a full moon that night so visibility of the bioluminescent plankton was challenging that night but we still got to see it , and it was so cool

What an incredible experience! Seeing the bioluminescent plankton light up the water was genuinely breathtaking and something we’ll never forget. Our guide was absolutely brilliant, so enthusiastic, full of energy and clearly passionate about what he does. He made the whole experience even more special and enjoyable. Kayaking through the beautiful surroundings at night and watching the water glow around us was honestly magical. Such a unique experience and definitely one of the highlights of our time in Vietnam. Couldn’t recommend Alibaba’s Tour enough! 10/10!

This trip was so amazing! The tourguide Ba was very friendly and informed us about all the information around the archipelago. His english was perfect and we had the chance to ask anything. We had an absolutely fantastic time on the bioluminescent kayaking and Monkey Island tour. Even though we didn’t spot any monkeys and the bioluminescence wasn’t at its brightest, the experience was still one of the highlights of our trip. The real reason this tour stands out is Ba. He is genuinely one of the kindest, most passionate guides we’ve met. You can tell he truly loves what he does, and his enthusiasm and warmth made the whole evening so enjoyable. To top it all off, we had dinner afterwards at his family restaurant, and it was incredible. Honestly, it was probably the best meal we’ve had since arriving here. The food was delicious, the hospitality was amazing, and the complimentary beer was a lovely touch. I would wholeheartedly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area. Thank you again to Ba and his lovely family for such a memorable experience!

Our guide, Ba, was very kind. The tour was amazing. We enjoyed the beach on Monkey Island and a beautiful sunset. The kayaking experience, where we admired the bioluminescent plankton glowing on the water, was simply magical. Afterwards, we enjoyed a delicious dinner at Ba's family restaurant, cooked by his wife. It was one of the best meals we have had in Vietnam. We highly recommend this tour. The tour was amazing. Our tourist guide Bah was super kind and friendly. We got to see a beautiful sunset and the incredible bioluminescent. After the tour, the food was delicious. Highly recommend the tour!

The group with about 20 people was all friendly. sadly, two of them arrived late from Hanoi so all of us had to wait and started about 50 minutes later. The "boutique boat" was a Speed boat, which has more adventurous than comfortable vibes (No toilet etc) The Sunset on monkey island was magnificent. We were dropped on a beach which nobody else around. Sadly we didnt see any monkeys but the Sunset was great. There was a path to a view point which was a bit sketchy so most of the group skipped it. The guide also waited at the beach. Afterwards we drove to the spot for the plankton. Kayaking at night, with a lot of darkness surrounding you was amazing, however, the plankton was truly magical and looked like blue fire within the water. The guide kept showing us the best locations for the plancton and we had a great time on the Kayak. The trip ended with food in the restaurant which was not bad, not great.

The tour was really nice! Ba was super enthusiastic and he explained us many interesting things about the area. We saw an incredible sunset in the Monkey’s island and then we saw the plankton with the kayak. The plankton was incredibly beautiful and shiny. I will never forget this experience. After the tour we had a really nice dinner in his restaurant. The food was really good. I strongly recommend this tour!!

Very well organised trip. picked us up from hotel and took us to boat and first to monkey beach even introducing us to some monkeys and helping us to feed them which was such a once in a life time experience. then went to hike a viewpoint which was difficult and more like a rock climb but very beautiful for sunset and we had time to swim in the sea. then took us to kayak which felt very safe and seeing the plankton so clear and bright was a top experience of this whole trip that i would recommend to anyone- everyone was shouting in delight! then took us home to his family restaurant for dinner which was extremely delicious range of meat and vegetarian food- best tuna i have held. excellent value for money

I can only recommend this tour enough! From start to finish, everything was great with good communication. By the owner when booked to the taxi driver sending you a picture with his car to recognise him. 1st was the Monkey mountain where we were lucky enough to be with Monkey's friend, Ba. As soon as we arrive, the monkey appeared to greet him which was fun. Then Ba showed us where and how safely go to the top and have an amazing view of the bay. 2nd was the bioluminescent plankton kayak tour. Let just say, it was magical to be sounding by those light. And finally on the way back. Ba's wife cooked some very good Vietnamese food. Thanks a lot, it was truly a magical moment and can't thank you enough

Such a fun experience! The tour guides were so much fun and the sites were really really cool! Monkey island was a great experience! There were plenty of monkeys to see and plenty of baby monkeys too! You can feed the monkeys and they will climb on you if you let them. You can also pet them, but at your own risk of maybe being bitten if your to aggressive with the petting them. The tour guides will help you feeding them so you’re less likely to lose a finger. There is also beach for you to swim at on monkey island if you would like. I would suggest during the winter months to wear warm clothes as at night when kayaking it can get pretty cold and especially on the boat when in route back to shore. The bioluminescence were amazing! It’s something you can only see visually, nobody’s camera could pick up the light as the plankton light flickers to quickly when your paddling. This is a must do experience while on Catba island! The dinner at the end of the night was also great! Super tasty! There was fish, tofu, chicken, spring rolls, rice and French fries! All tasted great!!! This is one of the tours I actually tipped because of the great service and kindness of the guide!

Had the best time with Ba! Really amazing experience getting to see the Plankton and climb and adventure Monkey Island. Great food with the spring rolls, fish and Tofu being our favourites! Ended up coming back the next day for the food and to see our favourite tour guide. Would definitely recommend

I had an amazing trip with Ba and Alibaba's company. We enjoyed swimming to the monkey island, watched a wonderful sunset, kayak through the bioluminescent plankton and ended with a nice dinner in the family restaurant. Our group wasn't very big, which I really enjoyed. Ba is knowledgeable and the whole crew is very friendly.

I went on a tour with mr. Ba and everything was just amazing. This tour is not in a big group and is very local. We started by passing the floating fishervillages. After we jumped of the boat and swam to monkey island. We watched a beautiful sunset back on the boat before heading to the spot where we could kayak. We saw a lot of bioluminescent plankton (even though the moon was bright). If you aren't enthusiastic already, mr. Ba will make you more happy with shouting "we are so lucky". And indeed we were. Mr. Ba has a lot of information about the islets and is ready to answer all your questions and point all the extraordinarities. We finished the beautiful trip with a delicious meal cooked by mr. Ba's wife in their family restaurant. I highly recommend this experience to everyone who wants a happy and authentic evening.

Amazing experience. Really well organised and a lot of fun. The bioluminescence is magical: you feel a bit like Tinkerbell spreading a little sparkly fairy dust in the water.

My Tour guide Ba was professional,very energetic, helpful & funny guy. He made the tour memorable and the team on the board were all amazing.Everyone should experience this tour when you visit Cat ba.The dinner was full of Vietnamese flavor and the place is owned by one of his relatives.

My boyfriend and I had an amazing tour with Ba! We were on the water for half a day seeing a fishing village, seeing the monkeys on Monkey Island and hiking to a viewpoint (for those who wanted), went to a secluded beach to swim, had a magical kayak tour seeing the bioluminescence in the water and ended the night with a dinner in his family restaurant. Truly wonderful - would highly recommend!!

We did the plankton tour with Alibaba and it was one of our favorite activities in Vietnam! Monkey island is lovely, you can swim there, and the planktons are magical. Alibaba is also the nicest person, and he even helped us in organising our holidays in Catba. I would highly recommand him !

The tour was everything we expected and more. Ba is a wonderful guide who took good care of us. There were 10 people on the tour. We got to go to the top of Monkey island, cruise through the bay, kayak through plancton rich waters at night and eat a copious and delicious dinner. It was a great tour!

Absolutely fantastic tour! Mr Ba took us to some fantastic spots where we swam and climbed cliffs. When the sun went down he took us to see the plankton which was stunning. His restaurant where we ate dinner was a wonderful final stop with some great food especially for seafood lovers (but also for those who are not). Highly recommended, fantastic experience for a fantastic price :)

It was an exceptional experience I had a lot of fun, a one-time experience of night shipping on kayak and the islands of the monkeys we got to see monkeys and planktons, and then we ate in Mr's restaurant where it was delicious and cooked food according to our vegetarian requirements as we wanted

We really liked the tour. The group was nice and small with 6 people and we were lucky that the evening was very dark and we could see a lot of plankton glowing. It was an incredibly fascinating and beautiful experience!

This is a family business and they were super nice! The boat was comfortable and the guide was very friendly and smiling. We had the chance to see monkeys on the island and the guide helped us climb the mountain. And finally, dinner was delicious. I really recommend it.
