Stunning Views & Breakfast Heaven – With a Minor "Check-in" Speedbump We stayed at the À La Carte Ha Long Bay for two nights including breakfast, and overall, it was a fantastic experience with just a few small caveats. The Absolute Highlight: The Infinity Pool The infinity pool is the undisputed star of this hotel. The view over Ha Long Bay is breathtaking and easily one of the best in the area. If you are looking for that "wow" factor, this is it. Breakfast: A Culinary Dream The breakfast was simply amazing. They offer everything your heart desires: Variety: A great mix of savory, sweet, continental, and traditional Vietnamese options. The Pho: You have to try the Pho soup! It was incredible and definitely the highlight of our mornings. Food & Drink Note: While the hotel restaurant is good, the beer prices are quite high. There aren't many restaurants in the immediate walking distance, but luckily there are some convenience stores right around the corner for essentials. Rooms & Comfort Our rooms were spacious, modern, and very clean. For the price of 3,700,000 VND for two nights, the quality of the room and the amenities felt like a great deal. Service & Vibe We had a bit of a rocky start: The Welcome: Upon arrival, the receptionist gave us a look that made us feel like "backpacker tourists" who didn't belong there. It made us feel quite uncomfortable at first. Don’t judge a book by its cover! The Rest of the Staff: Fortunately, everyone else was extremely friendly and welcoming, which made up for the initial encounter. The Surroundings One thing to keep in mind is that the area is currently a massive construction zone. The noise from the nearby sites can be a bit "unrelaxing" if you are looking for absolute peace and quiet. Final Verdict: Despite the judgmental look at the front desk and the construction noise, we really enjoyed our stay. The breakfast and the pool view are worth it alone!

We used to stay at A La Carte when visiting Da Nang and loved it very much, however, A la Carte in Ha Long is a little bit off from expectation. First, it is divided hotel and residence, so you may have a high chance of booking from private owner, and not the hotel itself. We accidently booked residential building which we will need to pay separately for any hotel services, and didnt feel welcome from the hotel staffs. In addition, it is far from Hon Gai, where re most of good cafe or places to eat are there, and the taxi or transport is a bit more expensive like 50k vnd to 150vnd. The mariana beach in front of hotel is also not an ideal location. But the view from the 40F infinite pool from hotel is amazing. Finally, the room is nice and accommodating even if it is from residential. It is our first time in Ha Long, so we wish we knew better ab the location and food there. Overall, we still love A La Carte hotel, but in Ha Long, there is much better location to get the best out of your trip.
Overall impression: 🤨 A beautiful, very new complex with stunning facilities, but currently lacking consistency in service and communication — particularly for apartment guests. What we liked: 🤗 • The complex consists of two connected buildings — one hotel and one apartment tower — and is only about four years old, so everything feels modern and new. • The hotel areas are beautiful, with gorgeous infinity pools and stylish bars. • We stayed in a privately operated apartment which was a good size and had a lovely balcony. • The area is very quiet and peaceful. • Staff were always pleasant and polite. What could be better: 🤔 • Our apartment could have been cleaner. • Although there was a small kitchen, no kitchenware was provided at all — which made it unusable. • There is confusion between the hotel and privately owned apartments regarding which facilities apartment guests can access. On several occasions, staff asked apartment guests to leave the pool, spa and gym areas. This needs to be clearly communicated to avoid uncomfortable situations. • While staff were friendly, more training is needed. We often had to explain how to make basic drinks (even a simple gin and tonic), and many menu items were unavailable or not stocked. What we had: • One-bedroom apartment with balcony • Hotel pool and gym facilities (access unclear at times) Good to know: 🧐 Apartments are privately owned and not run by the hotel, so standards and inclusions may vary. Also note there are no restaurants or cafés within easy walking distance. Would we return? 🤨 Possibly for the beautiful setting and facilities — but only once service standards and guest access policies are clearer and more consistent.
The view from the room is worth every penny – you can literally see the whole breathtaking bay right from your bed! The facilities are brand new, modern, and very chic. Every corner of the hotel is perfect for photos. The staff is professional and the overall experience is seamless. This is easily one of the best places to stay in Ha Long. Will definitely come back
Exellent service. Quality good food with large variety. On the final day, I left my bag at the restaurant after breakfast and walk back to room. When I realized and come back, floor team already handed to front desk, ready for return.
