Lake Kivu Serena Hotel

I had an excellent experience at Lake Kivu Serena Hotel. The hotel offers a peaceful atmosphere, beautiful views of Lake Kivu, and outstanding hospitality. The staff were professional, friendly, and always ready to help. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained. It's a perfect place for both business and leisure travelers. I highly recommend Lake Kivu Serena Hotel to anyone visiting Rwanda. I look forward to coming back again!

Lake kivu Serena is a very nice hotel. Our room was large and comfortable with a balcony overlooking the pool and lake. The room included a safe, comfortable bed, plugs for phone near the bed, tub/shower with excellent hot water, toilet with handheld bidet , turn down service in evening, and all of the modern conveniences expected in a nice muzungu hotel. The swim pool has a lifeguard and is not heated, but a good temperature.  The private beach is sandy, clean, bilharzia free ( no vegetation, clean sand only), but i thought lake water a bit chilly, but doable. The gardens surrounding the hotel are well manicured and full of birds. We had the half board plan, which includes the excellent buffet breakfast.  Fruits, juices, omelet station, breads,  and hot dishes including plenty of proteins. They also will serve you specialty coffees, African tea, and whatever else. Breakfast is excellent.   Lunch not included, but you can order something as you wish.  For dinner we ordered from the menu, anything you want, no limits, was included in the plan. Except beverages are charged,  even plain still water. But the prices are reasonable , no worry. Serena is a beautiful hotel and a nice rest after gorilla hiking. Highly recommended.

The hotel is already old-fashioned for European guests, but that has its charm. It's very clean, and the staff is friendly, helpful, and always smiling. As for the food, dinner was live cooking, and the food has a delicious Rwandan flavor. I definitely recommend this hotel.

A lovely escape from the city. A peaceful setting and excellent service. The rooms are clean and the buffet is very good. A nice, family friendly place.
