Sirmione Away From The Crowds Boat Cruise Guided Walk And A Drink

Chiara from Umbrella Tours was a fantastic host on our tour of Sirmione. We enjoyed strolling the streets away from the crowds, learning more about WW II struggles in the area, enjoying lemonade and circling the peninsula in a boat. As a lifelong resident of nearby Desenzano, she gave us ferry tips and recommended areas & restaurants to visit.

Professional , experienced , knew Sirmione and lots of history so was able to point out spots of interest Good pace. Friendly relaxed and definitely worth it.

What a surprising wonderful tour of Sirmione on the beautiful lake Garda! It’s the more authentic, bigger, less touristy, way less snobbish and more beautiful (in our mind) sister of Lake Como. Nevertheless, Sirmione can get very crowded and trap you with its touristy shops - all within 100 m radius of the marina (where most tourists stay). So it can be very easy to miss all the true and unpretentious beauty of this ancient town whose history goes back 2000 years. Luckily, we took a tour with Davide who expertly led us out of the crowded areas and into the narrow beautiful streets of Sirmione, climbed to the opposite end of the peninsula, explored the extensive archaeological remains of a massive Roman villa sitting at the very tip of the peninsula with an absolutely breathtaking view of Lake Garda. We then climbed down and explored many other hidden picturesque gems of Simione topped with a wonderful 30min private boat tour around the peninsula. So many fun summer vibes, beautiful sceneries and wonderful memories. This was our 3rd tour with Davide, and as always we had a great time. Davide is super professional, knowledgeable, engaging, friendly, goes at your pace and does a great job tailoring each tour to the groups’s interests and needs. His passion for Lake Garda, its history and heritage is unmatched and is very infectious, making you feel more like a local versus a tourist. Highly recommend!

My husband and I love doing private tours when we travel because it’s such a great way to get away from the crowds and experience a destination in a more personal way. We originally had our tour of Sirmione scheduled with a different guide, but unfortunately, she had to cancel for family reasons. She put us in contact with Davide, who graciously stepped in to take over our tour—and we are SO happy she did! It truly felt like Davide was supposed to be our guide all along. Davide was an excellent tour quide! Cannot say enough about our experience with the boat ride where we were able to see all of Sirmione along with his personable, knowledgeable history, science shared. We then walked around city he paid and popped us on a small ride up to the top where more history and understanding of where we were! This is the perfect tour of Sirmione! We started with a boat ride around the peninsula and did a walking tour of the old town after. Our guide Chiara was fabulous. She is incredibly knowledgeable about the area, the history and shared lots of tips about local restaurants and things to do in the area. The tour concluded with a stop at a cafe for drinks and more conversation. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a comprehensive overview of Sirmione!

This was a great way to see Sirmione. Chiara is local to the lake area and is able to offer historical information as well as details about the village to aid in your exploration. Seeing the village from the water is unique and beautiful, and a nice way to take a break from the crowds for a bit of time.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip around Sirmione with our guide Davide. He is so knowledgeable about the history of the area and about what is happening there at the present time. He’s really easy to talk to, you can ask him anything and he will chat to you about it. Our tour started with a boat trip around the peninsula, with Davide and the driver giving us a commentary on what we were seeing. After that he took us round the back streets of Sirmione, well away from the crowds that were in the main streets of Sirmione and showed us so many interesting places, while describing the history of Sirmione and how it has developed into what it is now. So interesting. At the end of our walk, he took us into a typical Italian small restaurant for a glass of wine and a snack, before leaving us to finish or meal. Suck a lovely two hours with him and definitely value for money.

We had a great tour of Sirmione and learned interesting facts about its history, churches, crops, etc. we enjoyed the boat ride and the drink/appetizers at the end!

My family and I couldn’t recommend Davide and this tour more highly. He was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, taking the time to answer the dozens of questions we had for him with such thought. Davide is the best guide I’ve ever had. So knowledgeable, sensitive to our needs, and showed us all these out of the way parts of the castle. Unbelievably knowledgeable about the history, and the people who had lived in the castle over the hundreds of years. He explained the design of the architecture, how they protected themselves & made it all seem like I was watching an episode of da Vinci. He is so gentlemanly and well educated that we felt as though we were in an honors class. On the boat ride he took us out to the middle of the lake and showed us how they had found and channeled the Hot Springs that they use in today’s hotels around the lake. He also took us to a delightful restaurant for a drink of our choice and a snack( delicious plate of meats, cheeses, breads and jam), his treat (that has never happened in my 78 years). David should be a professor someplace because his knowledge surpasses any class I’ve ever taken in college. My group of friends travel a lot, and I will definitely recommend him to them. He also gave us tips on places as our journey has continued onto Venice.

Our tour is great! Chiara from Umbrella Tours is really good, very professional with a personal touch, sharing her experiences and knowledge about Sirmone as well as useful tips with food and drinks. We had an absolutely wonderful tour with Davide - a group of 12 of us - he guided us SO well. He’s organised ( but relaxed) and judged everyone’s appetites for facts/recreation so sensitively. We took a boat trip around the lake with him, went up to the roman ruins on the little land train and he skilfully lead us through the town through the fascinating ( and less crowded) back streets. I’d highly recommended him- and just a note, this is not the only place that he guides- We’re hoping to look around Brescia with him next time we’re in the area.

Due to an unfortunate injury to our proposed tour guide, we (my wife and I) were asked if we would mind moving our trip time to the afternoon, which we agreed to. As a thank you, our guide, Chiara, took us on a boat tour with a couple from Australia (Deb and Nick) and no other guests. This was a real bonus as we saw the VERY crowded other boats and that would have been unpleasant in the very strong heat (around 34°C in the shade). Chiara was an excellent guide and after the boat trip we went on a guided tour of the old town and finished off with a drink and snacks in a tavern where we all had a nice chinwag before leaving. Davide was an amazing guide. His background knowledge of Sirmione and different buildings in it was amazing and really added to our enjoyment of our stay. Good to find and see places we wouldn't have discovered ourselves. Very nice day! Me and my husband spend three days in Sirmione and we wanted to know the secrets of this cute little town, going in places hidden and not so known. That what we got with David! walking around the peninsula!! David is funny, informative and passion for what he does! The best guide in this area!!! Bravooo!!

Our tour guide, David (Umbrella Tours) was really great. He really brought the history of this town to life. He provided lots of historical commentary that we would not have known by walking around. As part of the tour -- we had some wine and a snack and we found it to be fun to talk about the area + local life with him. Boat ride around the peninsula was great (dress warm) but was only about 45 min. The rest was walking and you will see areas that most don't know to see. A great tour + great guide. One of the highlights of our trip.
