Hotel Sirmione Terme

We stayed at the Hotel Sirmione from 9-13th July 2025. Reception staff done their job, nothing special or even welcoming, considering it is hospitality/tourism! Short version review…. Breakfast…. We ignored the unfriendly service, until our 2nd & 3rd breakfast. The younger staff were fine but the older staff Marinella, Enrico & Oscar were the most rude & vile hospitality staff we’ve ever come across in all of our worldly travels! All because we took a piece of fruit & pastry away with us that we didn’t eat at breakfast, even though we paid for it in our booking, plus we had handled the food! Salvatori, the receptionist manager handled the situation initially, as best he could, despite Oscar standing over us being verbally rude & aggressive! But this did not stop the rude, inappropriate hostile & aggressive behaviour for the rest of our stay! We were literally targeted (as were a couple of other guests) & Marinella discussed us with other ‘Italian’ guests at a neighbouring table! Very disturbing behaviours from staff! We reported them every time at reception but were told there was no hotel management on duty to speak with us either morning or evening when we returned from our activities. Conveniently! So I wrote to the hotel owner & got a very poor & vague response stating.. ‘Unfortunately the experience was not positive for you and we are sorry about that. 70% of the staff you met have been working with us for many years with great success and appreciation from customers and I am sure that they could have made your stay better if only they had had the chance. During our stay we had the opportunity to know you and this is enough to regret not having been able to do more.’ Ludicrous, they couldn’t have done less as the hostile, unstable & inappropriate staff behaviours continued throughout our stay! I forgot to put my review on google, but am today, as I see other guests had the same treatment & to forewarn other guests. On a positive note, 4 🌟 for the spa. the spa staff were friendly, helpful & the treatments & hospitality we received were excellent! Exactly what you would expect from any hospitality service!

Overall, we had a pleasant stay, but I don’t think the hotel offers good value for the price. At €250+ per night, I expected a higher standard. The pool was nice, and I appreciated that separate towels were provided for pool use. Check-in is officially at 3:00 PM, which feels a bit late, although they kindly let us check in around 2:00 PM. After check-out, they also stored our luggage so we could explore Sirmione without carrying our bags, which was a nice touch. There were a few things I didn’t like: * The elevator was quite old and made loud noises with noticeable vibrations. It worked, but it didn’t feel very reassuring. * Breakfast was disappointing. The fruit tray wasn’t refilled regularly, some of the biscuits tasted stale, and proper Italian coffee wasn’t included—you had to order it separately. The juices also didn’t taste fresh. On the positive side, there was a good variety of cakes. * The door to our room didn’t close properly and needed extra effort to lock, which wasn’t ideal. Overall, the staff were helpful and the location was convenient, but considering the price, I expected better maintenance and a higher-quality breakfast.

Value. The rooms are redone and nice, the pool area is well maintained and very nice, the breakfast is above average. The location is very near the Centro, and walkable to many nearby attractions. The overall vibe is relaxing and I think for the price, overall the value is good and I would return.

Wonderful hotel. The staff were great, very friendly, helpful. Room certainly roomy enough for us, spotlessly clean. Good position on the lakeside by the ferry terminal. We took the dinner option and so pleased we did. The menu was good and the food was delicious. We were so pleased that we chose to stay with you. Had a great holiday.
