Reviews
Overall, this is actually a very nice hotel and we enjoyed many aspects of our stay, which makes it particularly disappointing that I feel I have to leave this review. On our second night, we had a serious problem with insects in our junior suite. There were numerous mosquitoes and other insects on the ceiling and around the room. We had been out for the entire day and the balcony had been closed, so unfortunately the suggestion that this may have been caused by us leaving the balcony door open simply wasn’t the case. Hotel staff attended our room multiple times to remove the insects with a hoover. The problem continued to such an extent that we were eventually left with the hotel hoover in our room so that we could deal with further insects ourselves during the night. We were travelling with our three-year-old daughter, and at one point an insect fell onto her. We were extremely uncomfortable and barely slept that night. I want to be fair to the staff who attended our room because they were apologetic and helpful. In fact, when I spoke to one of them again at checkout, they remembered the incident and acknowledged how badly it had affected us and our ability to sleep. I have included genuine photos from the room and of the staff attending so people can see the extent of what happened. What has turned this from an unfortunate incident into a very disappointing experience was the hotel’s response at checkout. I had paid an additional €140 to upgrade to a junior suite, yet despite everything that happened, I was told that management would not authorise any discount whatsoever. I asked to speak with the manager, Francesco, but was told he was in a meeting and unavailable. Francesco, if you read this review, I genuinely think the hotel should reconsider how this was handled. I wasn’t expecting anything unreasonable or trying to get a free holiday. I simply expected some recognition that, for one of our nights, the room we paid for was not reasonably enjoyable or comfortable to sleep in. Problems can happen in any hotel. For me, what distinguishes good hospitality is how those problems are dealt with afterwards. Had management simply acknowledged what happened and offered a reasonable adjustment for the affected night, I would have left with a very different impression. Unfortunately, despite otherwise enjoying the hotel, the way this genuine and well-documented issue was handled at checkout has left us disappointed.
This is a very large Spa hotel, and while we were there had quite a few European visitors. The breakfast buffet was amazing, and the spa facilities were also wonderful. The rooms were nice, with very comfortable beds. I didn’t love the bathroom--the toilet was so close to the counter it was uncomfortable and a little odd, but the room itself was enormous compared to other European hotels, and had plenty of space unpack. This is a very central location which provides a good opportunity to see a lot in the Lake Garda area, but only giving it four stars because it is a little too much on the “beaten” path. If you’re looking for a place to be a little less touristy, go northern part of the lake. This is, however, a nice central location and if you have a car, you can certainly do a lot of day trips from here. There’s also a ferry on the lake that can take you around to all the other little cities nestled on the shore.
From arrival to departure the service and amenities were outstanding in every aspect. The food was exquisite. The service leaves nothing to be desired. Grazie mille! We are definitely planning on coming back and highly recommend Corte Valier.
The service, amenities, location, cleanliness were all over the top super! The front desk was always helpful and the dining team served excellent food and 5 star service. They were definitely part of our overall wonderful experience during the 3 night stay. The location made it easy to stroll into Lazise and shop the markets and little stores. The view from our window is super post card shot of the area! Great place to stay if you like a quiet, well furnished facility in close proximity to wonderful wine experiences and many great hiking trails….and of course the lake!
