Sailing Experience On Lake Como With Private Skipper

This sailing trip exceeded my expectations! We knew we would be viewing the spectacular beauty of Lake Como, but what I didn’t expect was the history lessen regarding the prominent villas on the shores of the lake! We not only learned who owned them currently or who previously owned them, but how some of them are still owned by the same families over the centuries. We also learned about 2 different villas that were used in films like Star Wars, The Devil Wears Prada and a James Bond Film! We were able to swim as well, which was refreshing due to the heat. We did sit in the shade throughout our trip, so we weren’t in the blistering sun during our ride. There, unfortunately wasn’t enough wind to open the sails, but that really wasn’t an issue. We were served beverages and small bite sandwiches for our trip, but eat prior or bring enough to eat for a 3 hour tour. We were pleased with our skipper Giacamo, from Florence, was amazing and an incredible historian of Lake Como! We highly recommend this trip, and Cristina was also very communicative leading up to our trip. 100% worth every penny we spent!

Bellagio Yacht Experience , and especially Captain Giacomo, made our afternoon an amazing experience. Our boat trip was the highlight of our time in Italy. Not only was it beautiful and fun and relaxing, but Giacomo was friendly and attentive, and so kind to my kids. Cristina was immediately responsive on WhatsApp when I had trouble finding the marina (my maps app had sent me past it). Their team has created a truly special experience on Lake Como. If we return to Bellagio, we will 100% do this again. 10/10 highly recommend.

Our captain Giacomo and Luigi were both phenomenal. The views were spectacular. Everything was as promised and beyond! Giacomo went above and beyond helping me back into the boat after a swim because I couldn’t manage the fabric ladder- a real hero! My only advice to people planning is that the dock is on the other side of bellagio than the ferries. We had initially planned to take the ferry but luckily scouted it out ahead of time and realized that some people in our party wouldn’t have been able to make the walk there (steep and rocky stairs) so ended up driving and parking nearby which worked better for us.

Fantastic skipper, very knowledgable and beautiful way to experience the lake. A bit underwhelmed by the very small glass of Prosecco, one bottle between 7 of us was a poor effort for a £800 sail. They could have pushed the boat out and included at least 2. Nibbles were good but again not much. Lovely boat and overall beautiful experience.

Amazing, gorgeous, and loved it. It was cold when we went but they were prepared with blankets. Our first trip to Como and can’t wait to visit again

We had a wonderful time sailing- it was so relaxing while also being interesting. 3 hours is the perfect amount of time and we would do this again!

Great experience on lake como. Check in was easy at a small port on the peninsula. The captain was very nice, engaging but also let us enjoy time on the water.

If you plan to be at Bellagio, this boat tour is a must!! We travelled all over the world and this boat tour was one of the most memorable experiences.

Truly an unforgettable and incredible experience. First of all, the boat was gorgeous and large enough for well more than the 2 of us (it was our honeymoon). Secondly, Marco was the most incredible captain - knowledgeable, funny, engaging. The provided snacks were delicious and simple and drinks were plentiful. The last ~45 minutes of our trip were very rainy but Marco kept us in good spirits and provided ponchos. An absolute must if you're in Bellagio - steps away from Hotel Belvedere.

Overall, it was a lot of fun and the 3-hour window was just the right amount of time. The amenities were lacking for the price. And since it’s private, the locations are as good as your ideas/planning. 4/5 - Captain. Marco was really engaging and helpful for wherever you wanted to go on the lake. He even gave us an impromptu sailing lesson when the winds picked up. That was the highlight for us. Come prepared with what you want to see even if it’s just “stroll along the grand villas and find a spot to swim”. Only feedback was that Marco was definitely more of sailor than host. We would have expected him to offer drinks, orient us to the boat, where the bathrooms are, etc. Instead we got on and he just started sailing. 2/5 - Amenities. We had to bring our own towels. The food/drink offerings were much more limited than we expected for the price. There was 1 bottle of Prosecco and 4 loose beers on board. We also got 1 small plate of breads. We were originally scheduled to have 4 on the boat and only ended up having 2. If we had 4, we would have used up the drinks immediately. 5/5 - views are amazing. Get nice and close to the villas and get great photos and videos.

We had a wonderful afternoon sailing with our skipper, Marko. It was the highlight of the trip to Bellagio other than a wedding we attended Be aware the take off point is on the backside of the Bellagio peninsula-15 min walk from ferry up and down a bit of hill

Unfortunately there wasn't much wind the day we sailed, but still had an enjoyable time. Great captain and shared some good information about the area as we motored around the lake.

Wonderful relaxing trip around lake Como. This is the best view and Great way to see the lake. Captain Marco was great. I would suggest you bring extra Prosecco/wine if you want more than one and bring some sandwiches for lunch.

Marco was an enjoyable skipper, very relaxed and shared many details about the villas around the lake. We had a very calm day, so no sailing. We motored around the lake. But it was a very good way to see Lago di Como. The best part was swimming, jumping from the boat, and enjoying the lake on a very hot day. A bit pricey but we would do it again.

Our tour started out with rain but we’re from Oregon so it didn’t scare us away. The captain had blankets and a cover for us. We were very comfortable. It warmed up as we went and was a pleasant experience. Perfect way to see the lake.

Such a relaxing morning cruise around Lake Como. Marco was a terrific host, pointing out some of the most known villas near Bellagio and beyond. The snacks were yummy and the blankets and pillows on board made us comfortable and cozy on a chilly day. Highly recommend.

My family had a great day on the boat! It had great views of many of the popular towns on Lake Como, sites where movies were filmed and a place to jump out and swim. The driver was very knowledgeable and pleasant.

Truly one of the experiences that you MUST enjoy if you are anywhere near Lake Como or Milan. The views are so good they almost can’t be believed. The skipper Marco was fully of information about the lake and was a wonderful and friendly host. 10/10 must do for couples and anyone looking to see the majestic Como lake and shores

Marco was both super friendly and entertaining. Had a great time, it flew by! Even though the weather was unexpectedly not cooperating Cristina was able to move our start time to make sure we have the best experience, boat is large and comfortable.

Marco was fantastic! He talked about Lake Cómo and showed us great sites! The boat was nice and clean. The snacks were great and we even toasted with a glass of Prosecco.

We could not be anymore thrilled with the experience on the sail boat in lake Como. We did this on the last day of our trip and wish we could stay one more day to book it again. They were very customizable to what you wanted to do on the boat. Such a beautiful day, we can not wait to do it again in the future. THANK YOU!!

My partner and I loved our private three hour sail around Bellagio and the nearby towns. It was so fun to be out on the water and see the villas from a different perspective. Cristina's communication was clear during our booking confirmation and leading up to our sail even with poor weather in the forecast. Frederico made a great tour guide around the lake during our sail. The focaccia appetizer and prosecco were icing on the cake. I would recommend this excursion to any size group if they'll take you out on the boat. We had a cloudy day, but it was still enjoyable and we learned about many beautiful properties and the history of the region itself.

My husband and I were in Bellagio celebrating our 50th Wedding Anniversary. We booked a three hour private sailing tour on Lake Como with Bellagio Yacht Experience. Unfortunately, the day we were scheduled to go out the winds on the lake were very strong and the water was very choppy. Cristina contacted me to ask if we would like to postpone it until the next day, but we were unable to as it was our last day in Bellagio. Knowing it was our anniversary, they agreed to take us out. Frederico was so kind, very knowledgeable, and a pleasure to be with. We were hoping the winds would subside, but, unfortunately, after about 30-45 minutes, we decided to head back in. Frederico offered to refund our money which he and Cristina did. They were both so sweet, and the communication with them from start to finish was excellent. I highly recommend them for a tour of Lake Como. They were both such a pleasure to work with. They even had a delicious cake for us to celebrate our anniversary! Thank you Frederico & Cristina!

It was 8 friends in total on the sail boat, we had AN AMAZING DAY. So relaxing and fun and honestly the absolute best way to see Lake Como. We did a round trip to/from Bellagio with a quick stop in Varenna. Our skippers were so great and Cristina’s communication before hand made the organizing and finding the boat a breeze. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

10/10 Recommend doing this excursion. We had the MOST WONDERFUL time. Our tour guide, Frederico (and his wife, who coordinates the excursion), was GREAT. He was an excellent mix of educational, entertaining, and funny. We were a laid back group of 5 girls who went for a 40th birthday party (from the USA). It was honestly one of the highlights of our entire trip through Bellagio, Tuscany, Florence, and Milan. Can't say enough great things about that experience. Would do it again TOMORROW! The personal/private experience was just so fabulous. Don't miss this one!

AMAZING!! Frederico (I think that was his name) was such a hospital captain! There were 5 of us ladies and we enjoyed every minute sailing beautiful Lake Como. Frederico showed us all the landmarks, we took pictures, he took extra care to have a smooth sailing experience since it was quite windy that day. We had a picnic lunch and drank aperol all afternoon on the boat- perfect day! (We brought some picnic foods and he also had some prosecco and baked goods for us).

Our family of 6 adults had a wonderful time sailing around Lake Como with Frederico. It was so relaxing and amazing beautiful.

Our family of seven thoroughly enjoyed our charter around the lake with Captain Federico. He was extremely knowledgeable of the area’s history and we enjoyed Our conversations with him. The pastries were the best we had in Italy! Our weather was not ideal and BYE accommodated us without hesitation so we could enjoy our sail without rain. I highly recommend this sailing experience. It was one of the highlights of our trip.

Our family booked a private sail around Lake Como on Frederico & Cristine's beautiful sailboat. They accommodated our change from one day to the day before because rain was expected, and we had a very special need for sunshine: our daughter's engagement! Cristine took care of setting up the proposal, asking them to pose for an Instagram post in front of Villa Balbianello. Then our soon-to-be son-in-law went down on one knee to ask for her hand. Passing boats shouted best wishes, everyone laughed and cried, we broke out the Prosecco and it was all MAGICAL. Frederico and Cristine, you are part of our family's memories forever. Thank you for making our wishes come true! To those thinking about booking, Frederico and Cristine are amazing; you will never forget seeing Como from the water with the sun, sounds, breezes and breathtaking views! So, so worth it!

We had such a lovely experience on Federico’s boat! Firstly, Cristina was wonderful to communicate with. She was so helpful and accommodating as we had to reschedule through bad weather. We were so glad we were able to reschedule as we had a fantastic and relaxing time. Federico gave us options on routes, we trusted his recommendation and enjoyed a tranquil sunset sail. We thank both of them for their flexibility, great communication, kind nature, and great experience. Recommend booking!

Cristina and Frederico were the most helpful, informative hosts. They not only gave us a tour of lake como, we swam and they were about to help us arrange our transport back to Cernobbio. We can’t say enough wonderful things about them both.

If you are thinking about doing this- stop thinking and just book it! We had the absolute best time. The boat is beautiful, theres snacks (mini pizzas!), wine, music, we learned the history about the area, the homes and got to go swimming. Truly the perfect way to spend a few hours. It was wonderful!

This was second time in lake como and decided to have a sailing party tour with my friends. I specifically message the boat company prior to confirming my booking as i was comparing which route and which boat company to hire to maximize our time on the lake and to see as much sites including several mansions near lake como. they sent me a list of the sites to visit and I agreed to book it through bellagio yacht experience. When we hopped in the boat the captain/ owner was quiet and stirred the boat around the direction towards lecco. It was a nice and sunny day in the 90’s kind of weather.We didn’t see any mansions or any sites. We just went around Lecco. He didn’t mention anything, he was quiet and didn't even say a word, just texting and on his phone. I silently went through the trip! As not to spoil my vacation with my friends.The next day i message them in regards to this. I received a reply saying it was the wind condition. What a pathetic excuse. I have the impression that if he could get away with it, he’ll do it assuming we didn’t know our way around como! What a shame then they have the nerve to refund me $54😡😕😕 which I didn't even ask for! I just saw it in my email that they refunded me. Clearly they felt that they did something wrong! truthfully they can keep the Money! This is about principle and integrity. I felt discriminated as we were all Asians.There was a couple before us and they came from the intended direction of the tour. Now all of a sudden their reason is the weather! they even threatened me that they will report me in tripadvisor. How professional!!

The BEST!!! We could have stayed all day on the boat. I was originally thinking about a wooden speed boat tour because that’s what I’d seen on tv and then saw the amazing reviews for the sailing experience and decided on this tour. Sooo happy about the decision. Also the wooden boats are meant for the canal not a lake. The sailboat was perfect for the lake! The entire tour was amazing, relaxing, with beautiful scenery all around. We were served drinks and snacks. Bathroom on board (a huge plus for a 3 hour ride). We even stopped to jump in the lake. We’d forgotten to bring towels and were provided towels! We went a bit over the 3 hours because of the swim, but never felt rushed. Federico was great, knowledgeable, and helped create a very calming and serene experience! He runs the company with his wife Cristina - all around excellent! BOOK THIS TOUR!!

Absolutely fantastic experience. Frederico and his wife who run the company were extremely accommodating and changed our time last minute due to weather concerns, and the tour could not have been better. Frederico was knowledgeable, fun, and nice, as he showed us around the lake and its many villas. The boat was spacious and beautiful, and the provided Prosecco and snacks were a nice touch.

Our teenagers just wanted to sail dive and swim! They loved this experience. We all enjoyed the beautiful views - such a wonderful experience

Wonderful magical sailing experience with Frederico. He was knowledgeable ,charming and caring providing our family with a fabulous 3and 1/2 hour sail. Would highly recommend . Christina provided all the added touches with birthday cake , snacks and great first class communication . Not to be missed

An absolute must-do when visiting Lake Como!!!! Federico really made the experience- he was so knowledgeable about Lake Como and the surrounding towns. He was so accommodating for our group of 6 whether we wanted to sail or stop to swim. We stayed in center city Bellagio and the pick up point from there was an easy 10 minute walk. A complimentary bottle of champagne and tasty snacks from a local bakery were provided along with glasses. He also had additional bottles of champagne available for our group to purchase while on board. It felt like we were hanging out with a friend which made the experience and even better. The views of the lake from the water were incredible. The boat was extremely spacious and easily accommodated 3 couples. If only we had more time in Lake Como we definitely would have gone back a second day. Highly highly recommend!!!!!

We had so much fun with Frederico. He was very knowledgeable, kind, responsive and accommodating. I highly recommend this tour, it comes with some small bites and lots of prosecco for a small cost. We sailed around for 3 hours and saw all of beautiful como from different perspectives. A great way to spend the afternoon!

Despite the weather being terrible at the start, our skipper, Federico, was amazing. Within 45 minutes, the weather started to improve so he took us to a sheltered part of Lake Como. My wife and I both enjoyed viewing a number of lakeside towns from the water while Federico provided interesting information about the area. Our fantastic trip finished with a swim in Lake Como as well as a glass of Prosecco and canapés on board. We would highly recommend this trip to anyone visiting Lake Como.
