We had a fantastic evening cooking with Patrizia! It was one of the highlights of our Italian vacation. She made it easy and fun to get hands on cooking experience and the rewards was delicious food. Highly recommend Patrizia!

This was a beautiful authentic and immersive experience, just like learning from your aunt in her kitchen! Antonietta was a wonderful host and made you feel welcomed in her home. The location takes a bit of planning, you cannot walk there from a train station. Apparently there is a bus, we resorted to an uber (36euro), but that was our lack of research. The food was delicious and you’ll get to take notes on scratch paper or with your phone. Again, a very authentic experience.
Really can’t even describe how amazing this experience was. We arrived as customers and left as family. The experience was amazing but Patrizia and her family were just amazing! From learning about Italian culture to cooking our own food from Patrizias family recipes. It was an unforgettable experience.
We had such a wonderful time with Patrizia. The lesson is very beginner friendly. We made stuffed pasta and tiramisu! Everything was so delicious. On top of that, Patrizia has a lovely house with panoramic view of the lake como.
We really enjoyed our cooking experience with Patricia. She was so kind and taught us 3 delicious meals. We ate in her spectacular garden with views of the lake.
We were made so welcome by Patrizia, her home is amazing and the views from the garden when we ate our home cooked pasta and Tiramisu were like looking out at heaven. This isn't the cheapest thing to do on a trip to Lake Como, but it was certainly one of the best things we did. Make sure you book a taxi to get there though as it is not walkable.
Patrizia had a beautiful home with a stunning view. Very personal and fun! I recommend you reach out to her to get proper transportation ahead of time as she is located 30 min from Varenna.
We absolutely loved our pasta and tiramisu cooking class with Patrizia and Luca! They were generous, kind, and so lovely to talk with, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Learning about Patrizia’s family history and the local area was an added bonus that made the experience feel extra special. One helpful tip: the class is up the mountain from Bellano, not Varenna, so get in touch with Patrizia beforehand if you need help finding a ride. The additional travel cost was absolutely worth it! If you’re able, we would 100% recommend taking the path down to Bellano after the class. It’s a beautiful, easy stroll down the mountain that takes about 30 minutes—a wonderful way to finish the experience. Thank you, Patrizia and Luca, for such a memorable day. We can’t recommend this class highly enough!
Antonietta was awesome, I’d highly recommend taking her cooking class! We made 2 great pastas, tiramisu, and not only enjoyed learning but also talking about life with Antonietta.
Patrizia was a great host, the experience was very relaxed and enjoyable and the food tasted amazing! Pre booked transport is essential!
Cooking class was exceptional!! Patrizia was phenomenal! Loved the class was held in her home. Patrizia was warm and welcoming.
My husband and I had the pleasure of participating in a hands-on cooking class overlooking beautiful Lake Como. Our hostess / instructor, Patrizia, was so kind and gracious as well as an excellent instructor. We were a small group (3 couples) and she made sure that everyone had the opportunity to participate in making our two types of pasta and tiramisu. The size of the group enabled her to give each of us personal attention. After preparing our pastas and tiramisu, Patrizia invited us to sit and relax at a beautifully set table in her picturesque garden overlooking the lake. I would highly recommend Patrizia's class to anyone seeking an authentic pasta making experience!
Great cooking class with incredible view of Varenna! They are so hospitable and the food was so good!! The only thing to note is that this house is not in downtown Varenna like the Viator address suggests. You will need a cab to the house, walking is impossible
Patrizia was wonderful, and the views were stunning. We had a great time at the class, but the logistics left a lot to be desired. The name of the class and the short description indicate that it is in Varenna. It was not in Varenna, but in Bellano. The fine print does mention it could be in either city, but we were not notified of the location until the day before. This gave us very little time to scramble for transportation arrangements, taking hours out of one of the few precious days of our vacation. The first 10 taxi companies I called no longer had availability for the next morning. All of us who attended had a difficult time finding transportation to the class. If we had been told from the beginning it was in Bellano, then we would have been able to arrange in advance and with much less difficulty. Poor Patrizia the instructor herself was our only contact, moreover, and when I provided this feedback she said (rightly) that the logistics/communications were not up to her and referred us to the generic Cesarine booking email address. Again, the experience once we got there was 5 stars. The logistics, however, make it impossible to give a 5-star rating.
Patrizia was so welcoming and so knowledgeable about everything we were making!! She was an amazing host and put on a wonderful class. She welcomed us into her beautiful home and was great about getting everyone involved in the class! We would love to take it again!
Our hostess was a lovely, kind lady who taught us how to prepare Italian dishes with patience and grace. We learned so much and had a great time!
My husband and I had an absolutely exceptional experience making pasta and tiramisu in a beautiful local home overlooking Lake Como! 🇮🇹✨ From start to finish, this was one of the highlights of our trip. The view was absolutely breathtaking, and the setting made the experience feel so authentic and special. We learned how to make fresh pasta from scratch and were amazed by how much delicious food we were able to make! Everything we made was delicious, and the experience was even more special because of how accommodating our host was. I am pregnant, and she went above and beyond to make sure I could fully enjoy the experience by preparing a delicious vegan tiramisu just for me. It was such a thoughtful touch and truly meant so much! Our host also took SO many beautiful photos throughout the experience, which gave us wonderful memories to take home with us. She was incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and helpful, even providing great recommendations for taxi services that can be booked in advance to make getting to the home easy and stress-free. We also used WhatsApp to communicate when we arrived and she came to our location to guide us to her home! If you are visiting Lake Como, I cannot recommend this experience enough! It was delicious, personal, beautiful, and truly felt like getting a glimpse into authentic Italian life. An unforgettable experience that we will be talking about for a long time! ❤️🍝🇮🇹 Thank you so much for having us Patrizia!
Book it! This experience was the highlight of our time in Lake Como. Patrizia warmly welcomed us into her beautiful home and taught us to make tiramisu and 2 pastas with comfort and ease. The food and wine were delicious. Her view from her home up in the Bellano mountains is breathtaking! We absolutely recommend this experience!
Monica was excellent; we enjoyed every minute of cooking with her. The food was excellent & she had a great personality.
Monica did a great job teaching us how to make tagliatelle, ravioli, and tiramisu. We truly enjoyed spending time learning how to cook fresh Italian dishes in her quaint art shop.
We had an amazing time with Patrizia and Luca. They showed wonderful hospitality and were so helpful throughout the cooking class. We were very grateful to have met them and we really wished we had more time to spend with them. The pasta we made was delicious and we got to use ingredients from their personal garden which was a delightful touch. They are also very communicative and helpful beforehand. They helped us arrange our taxi to the location when we asked.
We had such an amazing time at the cooking class! Patrizia was absolutely wonderful and made us feel so welcome in her home. My husband and I always try to do a cooking class when we travel, and this was by far one of the best we’ve ever done. Such a special experience. We highly recommend.
Excellent cookery course. The whole family enjoyed it. Patrizia included everyone throughout. A really highlight of our holiday!
This was one of the best experiences we had during our trip to Varenna/Bellano. Patrizia made us feel at home and she was so accommodating when we came late. The class was one of the best experiences because all the ingredients are so fresh and simple that most of us have these ingredients at home already. The garden overlooking the view was beautiful. The food we made were actually better than some of the restaurants we've eaten at! Highly recommend her cooking class!
I had the best time cooking with Patrizia! She welcomed me with opened her arms and made me feel like her extended family. From her food to her charismatic personality, it will truly be an unforgettable experience that will last a lifetime time!
We had such an amazing time! The views over Lake Como were absolutely breathtaking, and our hosts were incredibly welcoming and kind. We learned how to make delicious fresh pasta and the best tiramisu from scratch. It was such a fun and authentic experience, and we felt at home from the very beginning. Luca and Patrizia where so warm-hearted and passionate about sharing their knowledge and love for Italian cuisine. We highly recommend this cooking class to anyone visiting Lake Como. It was truly one of the highlights of our trip!
Patrizia was amazing! She was so kind and knowledgeable and made such an effort to make it a great experience for all. We would recommend her class specifically to anyone. One of the highlights of our trip!
It was actually the best experience with Antoinetta!! She was the absolute best and the recipes were amazing. The experience we had was the highlight of our trip.
False advertising. Not in Varenna. Twenty minute drive away. Viator never updated the meeting point and address to the actual spot. Activity provider not helpful either once this issue was realized.
Patrizia’s cooking class was completely authentic. The view from our table was exceptional. She was kind and followed up with the recipes promptly. Her daughter assisted as we had a total of 9 participants. We took the class with our adult daughter and two other families with young children participated. I had inquired about ravioli making and she even added that to the evening. The focaccia was the absolute best I had ever eaten. Taking this class was one of the highlights of our summer in Italy.
Patrizia and Luca are the loveliest couple. The location is stunning, the instruction and the food are both phenomenal and being in their home felt like visiting family friends. We do a cooking class in every country we visit for a more authentic experience and this has been our favorite one we’ve done so far. This is the best experience you can book in the area! Book it!
this was by FAR one of the greatest experiences my family and I have ever had! Patrizia and Luca are the most amazing people who welcomed us with open arms and are just overall super friendly!! They showed us how to make tradition Italian dishes and even sent us the recipes so we can make their delicious dishes back home! I would 100% recommend this experience to anyone coming to Lake Como and to anyone who wants to experience authentic Italian food with the most amazing views. Thank you Patrizia and Luca for memories we will remember forever!!!
What a wonderful experience! Learned how to make pasta and tiramisu from our host’s family recipes. Patrizia welcomed us into her home and was the perfect instructor - kind and patient while allowing us to learn. We had a wonderful lunch out in her garden with spectacular views! Highly recommend!! Her home is not easy to locate and I would advise to reserve a taxi the night before the event - it is absolutely worth the drive!!
By far the best cooking class I have ever taken. Such a loving and caring host. Everything felt so smooth and enjoyable. Had a charcuterie board, made bread, pastas, and tiramisu. All with wine of course. Incredible views and would take again if presented with the chance. Make sure to arrange travel well in advance. Taxis can be hard to come by and you cannot walk to the hosts home. Consider reaching out to the host prior to the experience an inquiry about logistics.
I would give this experience 100 stars if I could! We spent the day with Patrizia and her husband, Luca, in their beautiful home, and it was truly unforgettable. The view alone is worth the visit. They taught us how to make two types of pasta and a tiramisu completely from scratch, and everything was delicious. They also treated us to an amazing spread of local cheeses, locally made honey, wine, and fresh focaccia. To make the experience even more special, they set up a lovely table in their garden where my family and I could enjoy the meal we had prepared together. Patrizia and Luca were incredibly warm, welcoming, and generous hosts. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area! The only thing I would mention is transportation. Their home is located high up on a mountain, and the drive can be a bit intimidating for less experienced drivers. It’s definitely manageable and absolutely worth it (there’s also parking), but it’s something to keep in mind when planning your visit.
We went To Federico's home and he taught us how to make pasta, 3 different kinds from start to finish. He had homemade bolognaise already made since it takes longer but we made homemade pesto, tiramisu, 3 types of pasta including ravioli which he had the filling done ahead of time so we could enjoy. Once the class was done we sat in his garden and drank Aperol spritz made by him and wine while he finished and plated our 3 courses and then desert. This was a great experience. At first it is a little strange going into someone's home but in the end we had an evening of laughing, cooking, eating, drinking and complete satisfaction and enjoyment!! Thank you Federico, you truly gave us an Italian experience. One of my top travel experiences I have had!!! GRATZI
This was one of the most memorable experiences of our trip to Italy. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed into her beautiful home in the mountains. Learning how to make ravioli from scratch using her mother’s recipe made the experience feel so authentic and special. She was incredibly kind, patient, and passionate about sharing her family’s traditions. The food was delicious, the views were breathtaking, and the entire afternoon felt like a glimpse into real Italian life. We left with new skills, wonderful memories, and recipes we will cherish for years to come. We cannot recommend this enough.
Absolutely amazing authentic Italian cooking class - Patrizia and Luca were so welcoming and friendly; everyone had a great time and even better food!
Absolutely amazing, very personal experience. Every detail was taught so well and the view while we ate was amazing.
Patricia and her husband Luca were the friendliest people we have very met. They greeted us outside their beautiful home and welcomed us inside with open arms. We then began with making tiramisu from scratch while the table was set for us outside to eat. After the tiramisu was complete we enjoyed a glass of wine with an appetizers all locally sourced and were the freshest we have ever eaten. After that we went back inside and began making two different types of pasta from scratch while Patricia told us about their lovely home and story of the family recipes we were cooking. Once the pasta dishes were complete we then sat outside at a table on their lawn that overlooked all of lake Como and surrounding mountains while Patricia served us the pastas and tiramisu. The food was absolutely delightful and was the best food of our 9 day trip. I highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for amazing hospitality, beautiful scenery, and an unmatched cooking class experience to anywhere else.
My wife and I had the perfect pasta making day. Patrizia makes you feel right at home! We made two pasta dishes as well as her family’s tiramisu. We then got to eat our creation outside in her backyard with a beautiful mountain view! 10/10 experience!!!!!
If we could give this experience 10/10 stars, we absolutely would. From start to finish, this was one of the highlights of our entire trip to Italy. We took a quick 5-minute train from Varenna to Bellano for the class, and Patrizia made everything seamless by providing multiple taxi recommendations that were easy to contact and book. Our driver, Luca, was incredibly kind and accommodating, making getting to and from the class stress-free. The moment we arrived, Patrizia and her husband welcomed us into their beautiful home like family. It was such a cold and rainy day, but they made everything feel so warm and cozy with a fire going and even slippers for us to wear. Within minutes, we felt completely at home. We were joined by another small group, and the five of us quickly became friends while cooking together. Patrizia and her husband were so patient, fun, and passionate while teaching us their family recipes and cooking techniques. Beyond the cooking itself, they shared so much about their backgrounds, the local culture, and life in Italy, which made the experience feel even more special and personal. And the food… absolutely unforgettable. Everything we made was beyond delicious, and there was something so special about preparing it all together from scratch. We were already talking about recreating the recipes back home in the States for our family and friends. They made sure we had everything we needed the entire time, drinks, ingredients, guidance, and such genuine hospitality. By the end of the night, we were sad for it to be over (and sad there wasn’t more food left because it was THAT good). This experience was worth every single penny, and we would do it again in a heartbeat. HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend this cooking class to anyone visiting the Lake Como area. Thank you for such an unforgettable experience!
A lovely evening with Patrizia and Luka. The menu was simple , the instructions were clear and the food was delicious. A beautiful hillside setting overlooking Lake Como just outside Varenna. We joined a family of 5 for this experience and it really added to the enjoyment of the evening. A night to remember and an experience we highly recommend ! Ciao Patti & Steve
My husband and I had the best time at our cooking class with Monica today!! Highly recommend for couples or small groups. It was totally valuable for what we paid - we got appetizers/prosecco to start, salad, and learned to make ravioli and tiramisu. Wine was included! Monica is so sweet, very knowledgeable and was an incredible host. Worth every penny!
We honestly had such a lovely time with Patrizia. She made us feel so comfortable from the moment we arrived, like we were visiting someone we already knew. The food was delicious and everything felt so warm and genuine. You can really feel the care she puts into what she does. It was a beautiful experience and something we’ll definitely remember. Highly recommended 🤍
We had such a wonderful experience at this cooking class in Bellano, Italy. From the moment we arrived, she made us feel genuinely welcomed like guests in her own home rather than just participants in a class. She was incredibly knowledgeable and attentive, guiding us with patience and care every step of the way. You can truly sense her passion for cooking and for sharing that joy with others. What stood out most was her kindness. Not only did she send us all the recipes the very same day, but she even walked us to the bus stop and made sure we got where we needed to such a thoughtful gesture that speaks volumes about her character. This was more than just a cooking class; it was a memorable and heartfelt experience. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
DO NOT BOOK THIS EVENT!!! TOTAL FALSE ADVERTISING!!!! this is what I just sent to Trip Advisor: 1)FALSE ADVERTISEMENT….Your advertisement stated that the venue had a sea view… it did not as it was in a dark, cold ,small cellar with no views of anything! 2) Your advertisement picture was obviously a stock one which certainly did not represent the venue or experience whatsoever… 3)The so called “cooking prep table” was maybe 32” square which was very crowded for 4 guests and the instructor… your photo shows multiple people having fun cooking…. this venue is not capable of hosting more than 4 guests.. 4) The instructor did 95% of the cooking…. we were primarily spectators with hardly any hands on fun…the couple from the USA who joined us felt the same way as we did. 5) Some foods were prepared the night before by the instructor such as pesto and grains for salad with no explanation as to how to prepare them… 6) We were not provided recipes of anything upon our departure. 7) It was not a cooking class whatsoever … the instructor stated to us “now have a seat in my restuarant as I finish preparing the ravioli and enjoy your wine” 8) We spent most of our time sitting at the dining table chatting with the other two guests verses cooking 9) The posted reviews reference other instructor names and location as compared to ours…. totally not what is advertised. 10) We feel that we’re totally ripped off by this experience given what we paid for it. Again, this was a falsely advertised experience by Trip advisor and we expect a full refund…
Monica was an amazing host. We got lost with the directions we received..she went out of her way to meet us 30 mts later. Class and recipes were from her grandmother. So great to learn from grandmother recipes. We can’t wait to try when we get back to the states. Definitely enjoyed!
I spent an absolutely delightful evening with Veronica. She told me the word "Cesarine" is associated with the stewardship and passing on of cultural traditions, and her passion for and enjoyment of this was so clear. Everything was so nicely prepared for our session, and I really loved making the pasta and tiramisu together...and it was delicious, too! I felt very welcomed into her home, for an experience that was personal and authentic. But also everything was very professional, too, with her kitchen lab a bit separate from the main family home. Definitely a, maybe even the highlight of my trip to Italy. Highly recommend!!
What an incredible experience! From the amazing view of Lake Como we enjoyed from Vincenzo's balcony to the scrumptious meal we helped to prepare (we made two different types of pasta that Vincenzo turned into dishes that delighted our tastebuds! and tiramisu!), our time in his kitchen was the perfect ending to our stay in this beautiful part of the country. We even left with instructions on how to make the lemoncello back home in the states - he served this to us as a final treat for the evening. Salute!
