The experience was wonderful. Cooking while overlooking Lake Como was very memorable as well as the food being great.

Wonderful class! Patrizia is very welcoming, kind, and an amazing chef/teacher. Eating dinner in her backyard was so nice with the incredible views of the lake to look at. Would definitely recommend booking this! The location is about a 20 minute taxi ride from Varenna, FYI.
The opportunity to be at Patriza's home making pasta with her is a wonderful experience!! Her kindness and generosity as well as the beautiful view of Lake Como made for a very memorable time!!
We had a wonderful experience with our lovely hosts, Patrizia and Luca! They were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. We had such a great time learning to make tiramisu and pasta the authentic Italian way. The breathtaking views from their backyard were the icing on the cake, making the entire experience even more special! Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Italy — **100% worth it!** 🇮🇹❤️
The absolute BEST thing I did during my trip to Italy was attend your cooking class! The views were breathtaking, and enjoying a beautiful charcuterie board paired with wine while overlooking your garden with the mountains in the background was an experience I pray I never forget. You were so patient, kind, and attentive throughout the entire class. It was easy to see how passionate you are about what you do, and that made the experience even more special. I enjoyed the class so much that I actually ordered the pasta attachment for my KitchenAid! It’s already on its way to Beaufort, South Carolina, and will be waiting at my house before I even return from Italy! That’s how excited I am to start making fresh pasta from scratch and putting everything you taught us into practice! Thank you for giving my boyfriend and me such a beautiful experience and a memory we will cherish forever. This was truly one of the highlights of our trip, and I couldn’t recommend your cooking class enough!
Amazing authentic experience!!! Patrizia is a wonderful host and her home is so beautiful. Views were incredible and the food was so delicious. One thing to note is it is not located in Varenna, but Bellano rather. It is worth the planning to get there! We took a ferry from Bellagio to bellano and the city bus up to the location.
Our cooking class with Antonietta was hands down our favorite memory from Lake Como! The entire evening was absolutely incredible. My fiancée and I were the only two in the class, which made for such a fun, personal, and unforgettable experience. We made two delicious pastas and a tiramisu, and Antonietta even surprised us with an elegant spread of appetizers to start the evening. Every detail was so thoughtful, and everything was absolutely delicious! What truly made the night special was Antonietta herself. She was such a warm, welcoming, and incredible host that we completely forgot we were there for a cooking class. It honestly felt more like spending an evening cooking, laughing, and enjoying dinner with family. This was easily one of the highlights of our entire trip to Italy, and a memory we will cherish forever. We cannot recommend this experience enough! If you're visiting Lake Como, do yourself a favor and book a class with Antonietta. You won't regret it!
We had hands on cooking and learned how to pasta recipes. We also made desert which was fabulous tiramisu. She was very patient with us and not only was a great cook but we were with great company. Thank you Cesarine we had a ball
Had a great time! Patrizia was wonderful!! Beautiful home and view!! Food was fabulous and we learned a lot!
As advertised on the Viator website, this class is NOT in Varenna rather in the next town over. Your email confirmation won’t tell you. Dont print out your tickets, it just says Varenna. We found this out a few hours before our class. The trick - no taxis exist without personal messaging reservation well in advance, Uber/Lyft does not exist, class is up a winding unsafe hillside road, so no transport to the class is available! Hope you rented a car to get there. Customer service was not helpful in a resolution, no refund, no partial refund, no credit for re booking or additional experience - complete loss of money spent. Extremely disappointing outcome for a premium priced experience. Good luck. I’ve read the class is good - wish I could’ve experienced what I paid for.
Antoinetta was such a loving host. She really cared about my fiancée and me every second that we were in her class, and she made sure that we understood everything that was happening with all the things we were preparing. She was attentive, caring, and just the best host that I think you could get. If you have the chance to book with her, 100% do it. Not only was she amazing, but the food was 10 out of 10. This was true, authentic Italian cuisine, and I don't think this could have been replicated anywhere else.
The experience is highly entertaining and informative. We truly enjoyed our cooking class with the other guests, and will truly recommend for an experience with your partner or family.
This was a highlight of our trip and we would 10/10 book this again! Patrizia was welcoming and the food was absolutely delicious!
This was one of the best experiences we’ve had! Patrizia was so kind and patient with our group as she expertly helped us make pasta and tiramisu. Lots of laughs and personal touches from the wine, cheese, meat and hotpot of the oven focaccia to showing us how to each make our on pasta and tortellini. Afterwards we all sat down to eat the pasta we made along with her homemade red sauce and pesto sauce. The whole process was incredible and the view from her house was magical! I highly recommend doing this!
This was by far one of the best experiences of our whole Como trip. Patrizia welcomed us into her home and made us feel like a part of her family. The food was phenomenal, and the company was fantastic. I would do other classes with Patrizia in a heart beat!
Our cooking class with Monica was amazing! She was so welcoming and did a great job showing us how simple making pasta can be! Highly recommend taking one of her cooking classes next time you’re visiting Varenna!
Our Cesarine was the sweetest! We had a wonderful evening and the best meal of our trip. It’s not right in Varenna but she gave us a great taxi contact to take us the 20 min drive! Would definitely recommend this experience, we loved!!
We had the best time with our host Patrizia! She was so welcoming, very skilled, and made the entire experience incredible. Our meals were delicious and she was so helpful! I can’t wait to share my experience with my family and prepare them the meals we cooked. I would definitely do another class with Patrizia.
We took our cooking class with Antonietta and had the most incredible experience. Antonietta was incredibly kind, thoughtful, and welcoming and her passion for cooking was clear throughout our time with her. We made two dishes - ravioli with spinach and ricotta filling and tagliatelle with ragu. We also made tiramisu to be enjoyed after the pasta. We were able to take notes on all of the dishes so we can share the deliciousness with friends and family. This cooking class was our last night in Varenna and it was the perfect evening. We would not have changed a thing! We highly, highly recommend Antonietta’s class.
It was a really interesting, relaxed, and educational experience. We prepared three delicious Italian dishes quickly and easily. It was fascinating to hear about family traditions and chat with the American couple who joined us. We definitely recommend it for anyone wanting to soak up the atmosphere of Italian cuisine
Great experience with Patrizia and Luca. They were so hospitable and warm. They had a beautiful house with an unforgettable view. They were incredibly kind when they taught us how to cook pasta and tiramisu. They even used vegetables from their own garden which made the food even tastier
This was so much more than a pasta-making class—it was one of the most memorable experiences of our entire trip. Patrizia and Luca welcomed us into their beautiful home with such warmth that by the end of the evening we felt less like guests and more like friends. Making pasta together was fun, relaxed, and genuinely engaging, and the food was delicious. What truly made the experience exceptional, though, was everything beyond the cooking: the lively conversation, the laughter, and the feeling of being welcomed into their everyday family life. If you are looking for more than just learning how to make pasta—if you want a warm, authentic, and personal experience with wonderful local hosts—we cannot recommend Patrizia and Luca highly enough. This was a true highlight of a trip already filled with special moments. One thing to note: their lovely home is outside of Varenna. Once they have shared the directions to their home with you, we recommend that you arrange transportation (taxi) to and from their home.
Such a great experience! We made two different pasta dishes and tiramisu for dessert, and we enjoyed homemade foccocia with cheeses and wine inbetween cooking. Everything tasted so delicious and fresh. Our hosts were so lovely, very welcoming and knowledgeable. The location was a little bit difficult to find, but since it’s such a small group even though we started a little later it was all fine. The location was absolutely gorgeous and it was nice to get out of crowded Varenna for the evening. Transportation tip: it was our first time to lake como, so we did not anticipate transportation being a little more inconvenient. Our class was in Bellano, which required us to ferry and then take a bus. We assumed we could just call a taxi after our class, but apparently during peak seasons all taxis in certain areas need to be pre booked. Our hosts helped us book the taxi back and we were so grateful!
The most welcoming, friendly and charming hosts, sharing their home to provide a wonderful experience. From the moment you meet Patrizia and Luca you are made to feel welcome and relaxed. Patrizia guides you through the art of pasta (Tiramasu) making, slowly and calmly to enable you to sit and enjoy the fruits of your work whilst sitting in a stunning scenery, consuming the cooked pasta dishes with some optional wine served by Luca.
This was an exceptional experience. I highly recommend it! Thank you Patrizia and Luca for inviting us into your home and teaching us how to make tagliatelle, tortellini, and tiramisu. You do have to order a taxi or have a car to drive into this beautiful old village. Perched atop the hills the setting is spectacular with views of Lake Como as the wonderful hosts serve you dinner you helped create.
We had the absolute best time in Patrizia’s home! She provided suggestions for taxi’s to get to her house where the transport was smooth. Her husband was lovely and chatted with us all the entire time. Her views are unmatched and she made cooking so fun! I would highly recommend taking her class! The pasta was incredible and tiramisu was as well. We made 2 pastas with all fresh ingredients and even learned how to color the pasta using fresh vegetables! What a fabulous class that made our trip complete!
Loved the authenticity of the experience! Cooking in her kitchen and eating her garden overlooking lake Como was amazing. Patrica was very helpful and welcoming in her home. Great experience.
We had a wonderful time with Antonietta in Vestreno. It was great learning to make ravioli and it tasted amazing! Antonietta was such a great host and teacher. Would definitely book with her again should we ever come back to Lake Como.
I booked Patrizia's cooking class for me and a friend to celebrate my friend's birthday and it was one of the highlights of our trip! It was such a cool experience to be in a local community high up the mountain. We made tiramisu as a group and pasta individually. During the experience we were provided with some very delicious snacks and wine. It was fun and low intensity which I appreciated. At the end we all ate together which was so lovely. Patrizia was a great host & teacher, and I will definitely be back the next time I'm there. I do recommend that you check with your hotel the best way to get there and back...we stayed in Menaggio and this class was in Bellano. The ferries stopped running to Menaggio pretty early but our hotel gave us instructions on how to return. Patrizia also provided taxi contacts which I again would recommend using since they're been to her home before.
A totally awesome experience. Patrizia opened up her home to the 8 of us and showed us how to make two tasty pasta dishes as well as some incredible tiramisu. Highly recommend the experience, well worth the price just to be able to make and eat dinner high above lake Como with a world class view. Would definitely do this again!!
Great event. Patrizia and Luca opened their home to us and everyone had fun. Eating the food we prepared in their garden was second only to view of Lake Como.
Patrizia and Luca were wonderful hosts, so kind and welcoming, and it was a delight to learn about pasta making and Italian life from them. Their home is has an astonishing view high above the lake. A great experience!
Such an amazing experience, can’t recommend this enough to anyone visiting near bellagio or varenna. Such great hosts and amazing food and views that can’t be found anywhere else. We had travel issues and Patrizia let us move our class to the next day.
Monica was the perfect host. She was friendly, organized and ready for us when we arrived - with an appetizer and wine! She gave clear instructions and we were able to follow through with her instructions. Once the food prep wass done, we sat down at the table, with more wine! and she took over to finish the cooking, serving us each course.
If you’re looking for an authentic Italian cooking experience, this is it! My husband and I had the pleasure of taking a private pasta-making class in Patrizia’s home, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Patrizia is one of the kindest and sweetest people we’ve met. She welcomed us into her home like old friends, making the experience feel personal, relaxed, and truly authentic. She shared simple, traditional family recipes that were easy to follow yet absolutely delicious. It was so much more than a cooking class—it felt like spending a few hours with a local who genuinely loves sharing her culture and passion for Italian cooking. We left with full stomachs, wonderful memories, and recipes we’ll definitely be making at home.
We absolutely loved our cooking class with Patrizia. She welcomed us into her lovely home and was a very kind instructor. We made 2 delicious pasta and tiramisu. The view from her house as we ate our cooking was a dream. Highly recommend taking this class!!
This experience was AMAZING! Antonietta was the absolute best host. She welcomed us into her home, we got the meet her dog and her son and she taught us how to make ravioli and even gnocchi with the ingredients we had. She provided a ton of wine and homemade focaccia she had prepared beforehand and a limoncello shot to finish. We got to chat about her life and Italy and enjoy our creation. She even provided names and numbers of transportation to get up to her home that had a gorgeous view. We were on the fence about booking and didn’t know what to expect and were absolutely blown away by how intimate and special this experience was. 10/10 recommend!!
We made pasta and Tiramisu with Patrizia and her husband. The class was fun, the food was delicious, and the location was beautiful. They bring you into their home and make you feel like you’re a part of their family
Patrizia is the most gracious, lovely, kind hostess. Her home is so beautiful and the garden has the most spectacular view of Lake Como. Words can’t describe how much we enjoyed this one of a kind experience. We felt so welcomed, learned so much, and felt so lucky - it was a dream come true. Our 13 year old daughter (who loves to cook) said this was her favorite thing we did on our trip. Highly recommend! The class also included homemade focaccia with local salami, cheese, and honey and wine. We made 2 types of pasta (one filled tortellini and one spaghetti) which Patrizia paired with delicious homemade sauces and tiramisu from scratch. FYI our class was in Bellano and Patrizia helped us with the names of several taxi cab drivers.
It was excellent. We love to make pasta ourselves but learning it a slightly different way was rewarding. Plus, we had never made Tiramisu before and didn’t realize how easy it was.
We had a wonderful experience with Patrizia. She helped me coordinate a taxi prior to the class which was very helpful. Highly recommend you book with her. It was a highlight of the trip!!
Our class with Particia was great. Food was great, experience was great; however, there are many things I wish I'd known before booking. First, travel logistics around Lake Como are challenging so when Viator said (post-booking) the class "could be in Veranna or up to an 8 mile cab ride away" I did not realize that cab ride would cost $35-$55 euro each way. I also didn't realize how terribly difficult it would be to get a cab once we arrived by ferry in Veranna. Cabs aren't just hanging out. They are private. We tried Uber, we tried texting 4-5 private cabs (provided by the host once we told her we were stranded). We tried everything. We ultimately spent more than $100 to get to the class and were over an hour late and missed 1/3 of the experience (not to mention we were soaked from the rain and incredibly stressed form the experience). Patricia and her husband were kind enough to help us arrange our travel back down the mountain after the class and we caught the ferry back to Mennagio. Had I understood the logistics of Lake Como or the fact that the class would be rural, I would not have booked as ultimately (once adding ferry rides to taxi trips) we spent more than $150 on transportation alone. I would highly recommend this class for someone STAYING in Varenna or a nearby village that has their own vehicle.
Patrizia and Luca were wonderful hosts for our Italian cooking experience . Warm and welcoming . Their home was beautiful and elevated up on the hill overlooking lake Como . The pasta making was so much fun . Learnt how to make gorgeous tiramisu as well . All with a few glasses of Prosecco ! We then got to eat the food we had made , it was such a wholesome experience . Highly recommend !
My husband and I took this class during our honeymoon in Italy and it was one of the highlights of our trip! Patrizia was incredibly sweet, welcoming, and gave such great instruction while teaching us how to make fresh pasta and tiramisu. We loved getting to enjoy everything we made afterward while taking in the most beautiful view from her backyard. We also met the sweetest couple during the class, which made the experience even more special. Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Lake Como — such a fun, authentic, and memorable experience!
This pasta and tiramisu making class was truly the highlight of our trip to Italy. Our host was so kind, friendly, and welcoming, and she made the whole experience feel incredibly personal and special. She also went out of her way to accommodate my sister’s gluten and dairy restrictions, which was extremely gracious and genuinely difficult to do for both pasta and tiramisu. The gluten-free and dairy-free versions tasted amazing and were so much fun to make. The pasta we made ended up being the best pasta we had during our entire Italy trip, which says a lot. We could not recommend this experience more!
This was honestly one of the highlights of our honeymoon. Patrizia and Luka were absolutely amazing hosts — so warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. They welcomed us into their home and immediately made us feel comfortable, and we loved getting to know them throughout the evening. The setting was unbelievable — Luka set up a beautiful dinner table in his garden overlooking Lake Como, and it was one of the most beautiful views I’ve ever seen. The food was incredible too. We made homemade focaccia, pasta and tiramisu. We also ate local cheese. Everything felt authentic and personal, not touristy at all. Patrizia even sent us the recipes afterward so we can recreate everything at home. Cannot recommend this experience enough.
If we could give this experience 10/10 stars, we absolutely would. From start to finish, this was one of the highlights of our entire trip to Italy. We took a quick 5-minute train from Varenna to Bellano for the class, and Patrizia made everything seamless by providing multiple taxi recommendations that were easy to contact and book. Our driver, Luca, was incredibly kind and accommodating, making getting to and from the class stress-free. The moment we arrived, Patrizia and her husband welcomed us into their beautiful home like family. It was such a cold and rainy day, but they made everything feel so warm and cozy with a fire going and even slippers for us to wear. Within minutes, we felt completely at home. We were joined by another small group, and the five of us quickly became friends while cooking together. Patrizia and her husband were so patient, fun, and passionate while teaching us their family recipes and cooking techniques. Beyond the cooking itself, they shared so much about their backgrounds, the local culture, and life in Italy, which made the experience feel even more special and personal. And the food… absolutely unforgettable. Everything we made was beyond delicious, and there was something so special about preparing it all together from scratch. We were already talking about recreating the recipes back home in the States for our family and friends. They made sure we had everything we needed the entire time, drinks, ingredients, guidance, and such genuine hospitality. By the end of the night, we were sad for it to be over (and sad there wasn’t more food left because it was THAT good). This experience was worth every single penny, and we would do it again in a heartbeat. HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend this cooking class to anyone visiting the Lake Como area. Thank you for such an unforgettable experience!
We had an AMAZING experience with Patrizia and her husband, Luca. They were so kind to welcome us into their home and teach us so many things! We had great conversation and Patrizia is an excellent cook. We had a wonderful time making pasta, tiramisu, and drinking wine! They have a lovely home and amazing view. We would absolutely do this again, and definitely recommend to anyone.
Patrizia and her husband Luca hosted my wife and I for a cooking class and we can’t recommend it enough. The food was incredible, the views of lake como were incredible, and her husband and her welcomed us with open arms and made it feel very personable and fun!
From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, Federico is a chef and wonderful host. We had the chance to prepare three different types of pasta from scratch—ravioli, spaghetti, and gnocchi sardi—and each step was both fun and surprisingly rewarding. The guidance was clear and engaging, making it easy for everyone in the family to get involved, regardless of skill level. Seeing simple ingredients transform into delicious homemade dishes was incredibly satisfying. And as if that wasn’t enough, we also made tiramisu, which turned out absolutely divine. It was the perfect sweet ending to an already fantastic experience. After all the cooking, we sat down in the garden to enjoy the meal we had created, and everything was truly delicious. Sharing that moment as a family, in such a beautiful setting, made it even more memorable. This class wasn’t just about cooking—it was about connection, laughter, and creating something meaningful together. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a unique and joyful culinary experience!
