We had the pleasure of photographing a wedding at Villa Cipressi on Lake Como, and it was truly a dream location. The villa is absolutely beautiful, with its elegant architecture, lush gardens, and stunning views over the lake. As wedding photographers, we loved how many different backdrops the venue offered. From the beautiful gardens and historic details of the villa to the incredible lakeside views, there were endless opportunities to create beautiful and varied photographs throughout the day. Every corner of Villa Cipressi has its own character, making it an incredibly inspiring place to photograph a wedding. The combination of the Italian charm, natural beauty, and breathtaking Lake Como setting makes it a truly unforgettable wedding venue. We would absolutely love to photograph another wedding here and highly recommend Villa Cipressi to couples looking for a beautiful and picturesque Lake Como wedding venue.

A wonderful place to stay in Lake Como, especially in Varenna. The location is perfect and close to everything and right on the beautiful lake with a stunning garden. The property is especially magical in the evening once the day-trip crowds have left and hotel guests can enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The staff was wonderful, and I loved how authentically Italian the hotel felt. The architecture and interiors have so much character and stay true to the local charm rather than feeling overly modern. The breakfast buffet was impeccable, with fresh juices, pastries, yogurt, eggs, and a great selection of both sweet and savory options. I would absolutely stay here again.
I had an amazing stay at Hotel Villa Cipressi in Varenna on Lake Como. The hotel is beautiful, with lovely gardens and incredible views over the lake that made the whole visit feel very special. I chose Villa Cipressi as the place to propose to my fiancé, and it was the perfect setting. The grounds are peaceful and romantic, with plenty of spots to sit, relax, and enjoy the scenery, and every time we looked around we felt lucky to be there. The staff were outstanding throughout our stay. They were always friendly, welcoming, and professional, and they went out of their way to help me plan my trip and organize my proposal. They offered suggestions, helped with the itinerary, and were very supportive at every step, which made a big moment in our lives feel easy and enjoyable. Our room was comfortable and clean, and waking up to the view of the lake and mountains each morning was unforgettable. Breakfast was generous and tasty, and we loved being able to start the day looking out over the water in such a calm setting. The location is great as well. It’s a short walk to the town center, the waterfront, and the ferry, so it’s easy to explore Lake Como while still feeling like you’re in a quiet, relaxing spot. Overall, I’m very grateful I chose Villa Cipressi for such an important occasion. The combination of the beautiful property, stunning views, and exceptionally kind and helpful staff made our stay truly memorable. I would highly recommend Hotel Villa Cipressi to anyone visiting Lake Como, especially if you’re celebrating a special moment.
We got the tickets online and were very disappointed. We paid £26 for two tickets. We flew all the way from London and on reaching the location, we found that their famous “Gate of Heaven”, which was the main reason for our visit, was closed. There is nothing else at this villa that justifies the ticket price. Villa Monastero next to it is much more beautiful and worth visiting. If they are selling tickets online while closing the main attraction, they should clearly inform people at the time of purchase. We met a few other visitors who had paid around €7 per person for the same entry, while we paid £13 per person, with no transparency. When we asked for a refund, the staff were rude and told us it had already been refunded, but we have not received anything. We were told the gate was closed due to a wedding, and the manager even said that if we wanted access to that gate we would have to pay €500 for a private booking. Meanwhile, their own staff were seen filming videos at the same “reserved” gate. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience and poorly managed. We are still awaiting a refund of £26.
the gardens are beautiful. everything is very well maintained. things were budding up to bloom, I can only imagine the spectacular colors when the blooms open. the very large, 200 year old magnolia is a beauty! the staff is very interactive and polite to their customers.. the gates to heaven as you would expect is AWESOME!!! there is always a line and depending on the people photographing and the people posing, the line does move. Thank you for a wonderful experience
