Unbeatable location and generally friendly staff. We had to leave our bags with the bellman because we arrived early. When we got our room key, we were assured our bags would follow shortly behind us. It took them almost an hour to bring the bags, with no explanation or apology. We only had one day in Como and this significantly cut into our precious time. Room was also very small. I would look elsewhere.
Unlocked my inner Christamas Disney Princess here--yes, I'm in my 50s, but still... The breakfast is magical. My daughter has a video of me explaining to a tiny bird that it was not allowed to share my breakfast, even though it was the most amazing breakfast in Italy. The bird nodded, looked down sadly, and hopped to sit a few feet away to watch me eat. It really was the best breakfast I've ever had. It was included in the room rate, each day. We were traveling in December for the Christas markets. Flying home from Milan we made Como the last stop on the itinerary. This hotel is the perfect location and the staff made me feel like a princess. The rooms were comfortable and well appointed. There were some renovations in progress, though. I believe our room had not been renovated but was still fine. The view was of the plaza and we were able to watch the night performances from our room. Absolutely perfect.
What a great spot! From the location being right in front of the boat ticket office, to the clean and spacious rooms. The five star rating is especially the result of the incredibly helpful front desk staff. Claudia, Cristina and Francesca were all very helpful in booking taxis and offering solutions for transportation to various spots/reservations around the lake. When back in Como, we will definitely stay at the Alberto Terminus!
Amazing location with easy access to everything! The staff were also extremely helpful and gave excellent recommendations! 10 minute walk to funicular brunate and 2 minute walk from train station Lago North and 15 minutes to Como S Giovanni. They also have gluten free breakfast options if you ask!
Room was comfortable. Bathrooms very nice. The noise in the alley was a negative —10. Glass bottles and trash from the restaurant being dump in back alley in the afternoon, and 2200 and 2300. Then garbage truck beeping as it is backing into long alley and picking up trash with squeaky gears at 5 am on a Sunday! If you wake up when you hear loud noises, make sure you do not have a room. Facing the alley.
