One of the best hotel experiences we've ever had! Quaint setting in a lovely little village. Incredible conversion of historic building into an architectural gem. Our corner room overlooking the Ebro was fantastic in every way. So peaceful! No street noise all you hear are nature sounds. Really enjoyed our time on the patio and the bar. Service was outstanding. Front desk staff were super helpful. Dipa rocks! It is a bit remote but that's the true beauty of this property. Haro is just a short taxi ride away or a nice walk / bike ride if you prefer. Will be back!!
I arrived at Palacio Tondon yesterday evening at 8:00 PM, only to be flatly refused entry to the restaurant and bar.
The receptionist brazenly claimed that a "large group" was occupying the terrace.
This was a blatant lie: a quick glance from the outside revealed the terrace was empty.
To be lied to so transparently is insulting and utterly unacceptable.
As a frequent business traveller who spends thousands with Marriott properties worldwide every single month, I expect basic honesty and professional courtesy.
Instead, I was met with sheer incompetence.
What makes this disgraceful treatment particularly galling is that I have been a loyal patron of this specific hotel since it opened over five years ago.
This is my last visit.
I am escalating this matter directly to Marriott corporate management to ensure this receptionist is severely disciplined for her staggering rudeness and lack of professionalism.
Furthermore, I have already begun cancelling all of my upcoming bookings across the entire Marriott portfolio, and will continue to boycott the chain until this is thoroughly investigated.
Palacio Tondon has lost a long-term, high-value client over a pathetic, easily disproven lie from its receptionist.
We had a great stay at this hotel in the cute town of Briñas. Right along the river, with a darling patio to overlook it all. You’re located just a quick trip to Haro or a short driver to Laguardia and the other vineyards. Great service from all the staff.
Also, the breakfast was an impressive spread!
What a beautiful hotel in a lovely village in an historic building. Updated and comfortable with lovely river views. The walk down into the wine cellar is extraordinary.
Amazing hotel, part of Marriott Autograph Collection. As soon as you arrive the curated atmosphere envelops you. In the heart of Briñas, and on the coast of the Ebro, you can enjoy The Rioja region as if you were a local. Amazing service who will guide you through the regions history and how to make the most of it. Breakfast rivals 5* hotels and is available until noon. Free parking in front of the hotel. Excellent wine cellar and restaurant to soak in the Rioja sun with a nice glass… Thank you Maria Jesus for an amazing stay!
