I did not enjoy the tour as there was so much time slowly walking between stops and the information given on the cable car ride was really limited. No guide needed for the cable car part. Should have booked a historic town walking tour and do the cable car ride on my own. The guide was nice but was not really motivated.

Carolina was a wonderful guide. Excellent English. She provided native perspectives and insight, especially in Witches Street. Besides that wonderful explanation, the tour included four legs on the aerial cable car that Lima has been using for the last 15 years for mass transit. Fun ride great view of the city.
This walking tour was a fantastic way to get to know La Paz. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and shared a lot of interesting context about the city’s history, culture, and daily life. The group size was small, which made it easy to ask questions and stay engaged throughout the tour. The highlight was definitely taking the cable cars up to El Alto — the views over La Paz are incredible and give you a completely different perspective of the city. The visit to El Alto felt authentic and informative, not rushed at all. Overall, it was a well-organized, insightful experience and a great introduction to both La Paz and El Alto. Highly recommended, especially if it’s your first time in the city.
Great walking tour. Kelly the guide was friendly and shared good information with us. It was a small group. We went on a Sunday evening, I'd recommend going in the morning tour as a lot of the flea market shops and other street shops were closing in the evening tour. I think the morning tour will be more bustling and active. Finally, this is nothing to do with the guide or the tour company, but one of the other tourists in this tour, just kept talking to the guide random, irrelevant things. This took up a lot of her time as she listened to him politely. I felt that it took away time from important info that she could have shared with us. It was a constant blabber from this other guy, nothing related to the tour or Bolivia, but just about anything in the world. So, if you are reading this review, I hope we can be mindful of using up a guide's time with general talk that is not relevant to the tour!
Carolina provided us with an excellent 3 hour trip with the right balance of walking and talking, good insights in some aspects of Bolivian society and marvellous views from the cable car on La Paz. Fully recommended.
Highly recommend this walking tour. Our guide is very passionate about his city and very knowledgeable of the local history. The view from the cable cars are amazing!
We were picked up on time by our guide, Abraham, and our private citytour in La Paz started. He was very knowledgeable, helpful and nice. Our tour was very vell planned and Abraham told us lots of relevant and interesting things about buildings, neighborhoods and events but he never talked too much about irrelevant details. He did a terrific job! Our tour was modified because we wanted to see the cemetary and another church, and Abraham was very well prepared to those additions to the tour. At the end of our tour he helped us buy the right tickets and choosing the right line in the teleferico.
Luiz did a great job talking through the history of Bolivia and La Paz. Particularly enjoyed walking through the streets and riding the cable cars.
It was a great overview of the city. Our guide was SO informative. He even managed to wangle us into Plaza Murillo which was under security lockdown. Our exploration of the Teleferico system was fabulous. Thanks Fabian!
It was nice to see La Paz walking around, and cool to experience the teleferico. However, our guide was not very good at English, and most of the time it was hard to hear anything.
Saw so much. Loved the gondolas! Had a great guide —- Fantastic Fernando! Highly recommend it. Great way to see the different parts of La Paz.
I was alone on this tour and they still did it. Which is already a great start. My guide was super informative and very friendly. It is a nice way to get to know the city as well as some insights about the Bolivian history. Would highly recommend and feel like I didn’t tip enough at the end, because it was really great :)
It was an enjoyable tour, definitely a good way to start your travels in La Paz. Our guide, Fernando, was very informative and he gave the opportunity to ask questions throughout the tour. The views from the cable cars were amazing!
Carolina was a wonderful tour guide digging deep into Bolivian culture, the history of the city and the charms of the city today. She was generous in sharing her knowledge and embracing of questions about the culture, architecture, food, politics, the Boliviano obsession with the Simpsons, and everything in between! Very good value and highly recommended 👍🏼
This tour with FERNANDO was excellent. We could feel Fernando's passion for his city in each word he spoke. He took the time to explain super interesting stories about La Paz and his English was superb. Highly recommend this tour and with Fernando!!! MATT B.
Really good tour with Fernando, he was very knowledgeable about La Paz and it was a great way to get to know the city. We especially enjoyed the cable cars
I found the guide’s manner of speaking somewhat abrasive, which may be due to a language or cultural difference. He frequently used phrases like ‘Is it clear?’ or ‘Do you understand?’, which felt condescending. At one point, I asked for clarification on a point about corruption because I hadn’t heard him clearly, and he responded by saying, ‘You haven’t been listening,’ which was off-putting. While the guide emphasized the importance of respecting and not judging local culture, he also expressed pride that Bolivia preserves its traditions, unlike neighboring countries that are embracing globalization. While I appreciate pride in one’s culture, I believe there’s a way to promote your country without diminishing others. Additionally, the economic situation in Bolivia is complex, and it’s a sensitive topic. As a tourist, I was looking for a tour that would give me a balanced view of the city, its culture, and its values. However, this experience left me with the impression that the guide’s attitude could be interpreted as reflective of the broader culture in La Paz or Bolivia, which may not be accurate. Overall, this was not the most positive cultural encounter, but I’ll keep in mind that it was just one interaction and may not represent the whole community. The tour lasted 2 hr instead of 3 but I am glad it ends early. As sudden change in altitude taking cable car can be also challenging
I can highly recommend this walking tour! My guide, Luiz, who speaks very well English showed me the city and provided a lot of useful information about La Paz, but also about Bolivia. He took his time to explain everything in detail. I got to know the teleferico system, that works here instead of a metro, which is fascinating! Great tour, thank you so much!
Fernando was so good . Very knowledgeable..Good walking pace and excellent English . We really enjoyed the tour . He could answer all our questions and was friendly.
This walking tour was amazing. Luis took all the time to explain La Paz + Bolivia’s history, myths and politics to us. He brought us to the witch market where he throughly explained the rituals and “witchcraft”, then showed us typical local streets, left us time for pictures (even taking them himself), and brought us to El Alto by teleferico, which was a nice highlight! The tour lasted more than 3h (about 3h40) and we barely saw the time fly. Luis didn’t mind going over the time limit to show us more sights. Luis is very knowledgeable of La Paz, speaks French, English and Spanish and truly knows how to offer a local outlook to the city which is greatly appreciated (no tourist traps here!) Strongly recommend this tour !
We had a wonderful walking tour. We visited all of the major sites rode the cable cars. We heard stories about the culture and religion. We received orientation on how to purchase tickets for the cable cars which allowed us to explore on our own after the tour. It was definitely worth our time and money
Nickey was a great guide and took a lot of our input for what we wanted to see and try! Great for learning about the markets and history. Highly recommended!
We went 3 friends on a citytour with Fernando. The tour was awesome and the guide Fernando was SUPER!! Very knowledgeable and friendly.
Our tour was in English and our tour guide was Illimani, he was very friendly and knowledgable about the history of La Paz. He was engaging and frequently checked in on our tour group to make sure everybody was feeling 100% and if there were any questions. Would recommend doing this walking tour, especially with Illimani!
Illimani is an excellent guide who led us to many fascinating local spots. With his deep knowledge of the city's history and culture, I found myself captivated by each location we visited.
An informative and curiosity-piquing tour with Fernando! Always able to answer our questions and provide a deeper understanding of a fascinating city.
Very knowledgeable guide. I learned a lot about the city, it's people and history. The cable cars took us across the city to view far more than we we have seen on foot.
I loved that walking tour with our guide Fernando. He was well informed about the city and the culture of the Aymara people. He kwew well the history if his town and his country. The cable car tour was amazing: it is such an interesting way to discover La Paz😀 I hightly recommand this tour!
We had the chance to have a guide "Javier" all for us alone. He was very nice and we learned a lot about bolivian culture end history. Thank you very much for the tour.
Our tour was amazing! Our tour guide took us to the non-touristic places. Explained a lot about different things in La Paz/Bolivia(politics, culture, people,…) We could ask lots of questions and he knew answer to all of them. Also his English was very good. Highly recommend to everyone!
We signed up for this walking tour via get your guide. Our guide, Fernando, was amazing!! He speaks fluent English and explained many things to us around La Paz that we would not have known if we went alone or just read online. He gave us insights into how things work in La Paz, from its people, to its history, social and political aspects. He even explained how the transportation system works and the traditional ways people give offerings in the Witches Market. The tour also includes multiple rides on the cable cars to see the city from a different view. 100% worth our time and money, would definitely recommend!!
Illimani was a great guide, super charismatic, passionate and knowledgeable. He made the tour amazing. It's worth much more than its cost...I would recommend it to anyone spending even a day or less in La Paz to get an holistic view of the city and its history.
Great tour! Illimani, our tour guide, was awesome! He was super knowledgeable and had so many fun facts about La Paz to share with us. We went on the cable cars and also got to go to El Alto. He also told us some local things to do and try before we left La Paz.
It was a very nice way to get a first feeling for the city, especially if you don’t spend a lot of time in La Paz and didn’t know the city at all like us.We took a lot of cool pictures and went home with some knowledge and tips where to go the next couple of days. That helped. Thanks
LOVE THIS TOUR!!! It was personal, it was a great start La Paz. I would highly recommend this tour! Illimani was a wonderful guide. He added a lot of unique touches and it was a lovely day.
This is a terrific and accessible tour of La Paz. We had 2 guides for a group of 10, which helped convey info in smaller groups, while also offering interesting, different perspectives. The chance to experience the views from the clean cable cars was a terrific part of the tour.
This walking tour with Fernando was one of the best I've ever done. Fernando was so friendly kind and explained things so well. No question was too much. I feel like I'm 3 hours I got such a feel for La Paz. It was such a personalised tour. Fernando had so much knowledge. I thoroughly enjoyed every second of the tour. It was amazing to have someone show us around the cable cars.
It’s worth the price just to have a guide on the teleferico, however he didn’t have much to say that was interesting. His tone and content were somewhat pandering and oversimplified
Fernando was a great guide! He really knew everything about La Paz and he gave all the infos to us. The tour was 3 hours and it was a perfect time to learn about the city and the beautiful culture. I really reccomend it
Fernando was amazing, just love it. He really knows the history of the city and take us to the best places
It was a good tour, many spots, interesting information, the view from the cable cars is amazing, great guide Ruben.
Great informative tour around La Paz! With Adrian who spoke great English and knew a lot of interesting facts about La Paz and Bolivia in general, I learned a great deal and enjoyed the tour a lot! I was caught in traffic trying to get to the meeting point, but Adrian patiently waited for me. Excellent tour- would highly recommend it for anyone visiting La Paz!
Fernando was a great guide and the tour was excellent. We visited some super cool spots along the way, including the witches’ markets.
Overall we had a great time with Fernado, he showed us all the main sights around la Paz which allowed us to get a good feel for the city on our first day there. He was also very patient with all of our questions. Loved all the stories at the witches market.
Very well organized, Fernando was in time and extremely knowledgeable and kind.we saw some great aspects of Bolivian culture and learned a lot.
Great tour, good price. Guide to was awesome.. Adri was. Great. Fab tour. Goes across four cables cars
Fernando was a pleasure to have as a guide. He was polite, knowledgeable, and funny. As a true born and raised Paceñan he was able to tell us the in and outs. He also gave recommendations for lunch and dinner.
The tour was a bit long, but gave some useful tips. For men’s shorter tour staying in the center advicing on other things to do would have been enough.
My girlfriend and I did a private city tour plus cable cars with Fernando during our full day layover in La Paz on our way to the salt flats. This was probably one of the best tours I've been on ever! Fernando was a great guide, very humble person with good knowledge and good english. It was amazing seeing the beautiful things of La Paz, but also understanding a lot more of the culture, history and politics of the country (which I have roots from). Doing a private tour gave us full flexibility of asking questions we thought we're relevant and doing things in our pace, but also being able to stop for coffee etc. Very well worth the extra cost in our opinion when there is a limit of time!
We had a great tour of La Paz with Christian. We toured the cemetery which was fascinating - he told us lots about Bolivian culture and beliefs and he was really interested in how our English traditions compared. He also escorted us on the cable car to El Alto - the cable car gave us unbelievable views of La Paz and El Alto was really interesting. Christian was a great guide - very friendly, extremely well informed, proud of his city and had excellent English. He engaged with us throughout and ensured that we got the best out of the tour
