Honestly much more than I was expecting, such a great view of the city and of course it's so easy to get from one point to another place, avoiding the difficult traffic of La paz. This is something that you can't miss if you are in La Paz city. 100% guaranty you will love it.

This has surely bene One of the best experiences of my whole Life. The guide, Remberto, Is really and Expert of Bolivian culture and traditions and he guided us, using public transportations, through the most significant parts of the city. This Is really a wonderful tour, greatly suggested.
A banal tour that doesn't match the description on the website. You barely touch the market, and only the parts you could easily see right outside your own doorstep. 40 completely useless minutes are spent inside the cemetery. At the end of the tour, you are left entirely stranded without any directions on where to go or how to get back. Not recommended for both organization and quality
Loved this tour a lot. Our guide Max had a lot of passion and gave us interesting insights. Can totally recommend.
Our guide Max was full of good energy and could tell us so much about this country, city, the traditions and we learned a lot! It was amazing and I can just recommend it! Thanks a lot!
Jose was a friendly and accommodating tour guide. Very informative about the cemetery and the Sharmans. We then on to the Cholitas which was excellent.
I really enjoyed this tour Matt was very informative
Excellent tour with Juan Remberto as our guide. Found tour of cemetery fascinating. Would definitely use Red Cap again.
The guide Jose was excellent! Very knowledgeable , friendly, on time. He answered all my questions and his English was perfect. Highly recommend. Olga
Denise was an excellent guide with detailed knowledge of the area and excellent English. The cemetery and visit to El Alto was really interesting, however there was no opportunity for coca leaf reading as per the itinerary. It may be available if a small group of two, but obviously not going to work with any group larger than that.
Amazing, interesting and informative introduction to burial culture and remaining indigenous beliefs. We took the minivan and then the cable car. Matt was an excellent guide!
I highly recommend this tour. The sites were interesting and the guide was engaging and informative. My guide, Ramberto made sure I got to see and experience everything I wanted. Great tour!
After going on the Red Cap city walking tour, which was really good. I decided to go on the extended tour with the Cable Car included. Sadly it seemed a waste of time, it ended up involving going up on the Cable Car to El Alto, walk around for a little bit, get your fortune read (if you wanted to) and come back down again. I think it was unusual, but 10 people out of the 12 wanted their fortunes told and no-one could speak Spanish, so Matt (who was very good as tour guide) had to translate and every reading took about 20 minutes. So it was a long wait. The views over La Paz were nice, but definitely wasn't worth the 20 US Dollars of mainly sitting around, I did get a slight refund, as normally a visit to the Cemetery would be included, but due to the protests and road closures, the cemetery closed early.
We did the Extended La Paz Adventure and Cable Car City Tour with Denise. It was really fun taking the local bus and cable car, and interesting learning about the history of the cities. Denise was really knowledgeable and friendly!
This was a great tour. Rem was an amazing guide, he had such interesting information and was very kind. He is very knowledgeable on a range of topics and I learnt a lot.
Nice tour of la paz, guide was flexible despite some dramas on the city so the tour was adjusted not to visit the cemetery, which in all honesty was potentially not worth it - I guess unless it's the day of the dead celebration.
I booked the extended walking tour including the cemetery, El Alto, and Cholitas match through my hostel. While our guide was friendly and it was great to see areas I wouldn’t visit alone, the tour felt disorganized. A lot of time was spent figuring out transport, and key experiences like the coca leaf reading didn’t happen. There were no planned bathroom or snack breaks, and not even a simple bottle of water was included despite the 280 BS ($40 USD) price. At the cholita’s match, there were no seats reserved, just leftover ones towards the back near the door so we had to stand in the aisle way to get a view of the show (which was half over when we arrived). After the show, my group members and I were confused how to get back via bus because our guide left. We had to ask a guide from another tour company how to get back. Overall, the experience didn’t meet expectations and I wouldn’t recommend given the price.
Daniel was a really knowledgeable and friendly guide who gave us some great insights into traditional and modern Bolivian culture and life. The views were fantastic both of the city and of the mountain. He kept it fun and showed us how to get about the city like a local. He really earns his tips which are extra to the fee that seemed high in comparison to other local experiences.
It's a must do thing in La Paz. Redcap has extended city tour and wrestling combined tour. A fun afternoon to learn mystery side of la paz
The Tour was wonderful! Denise and Mat told us so many interesting facts and details about life in La Paz and El Alto. A must-do when in La Paz!
I was lucky enough to be the only person on this tour and receive a private tour from Marisol. She was phenomenal with her guidance through the public transport of the bus and teleferico, but it was her explanations of culture and religion in the cemetery and market that kept me captivated. I enjoyed getting off the beaten tourist path to really dig into La Paz and its people, and would highly recommend!
Very disappointing. We went on a Sunday and nobody told us that the Witches market in El Alto wouldn't be open, therefore we didn't meet a Shaman either. This was meant to be out highlight of the tour. The tour starts taking a public mini van to the cementery where you learn about different Bolivian costumes. Then, cable car up to El Alto where there was a massive market on a Sunday. Quite overwhelming to walk around it. We walked through the witches market street (closed on Sunday) and stopped at a view point, a sacred place, and we saw some chollets. Then took cable car down. The tour guide was very knowledgeable for sure, but we would have appreciated if they would have adviced beforehand that if you take the tour on Sundays, you don't get to see certain things.
I was in La Paz in July and I joined the walking tour. I can higly recommend this tour. My tour guide was Denise. She is good to show around La Paz city and tell about the story about the city that have a lot of secrets. We spend 3-4 hours to an amazing trip around the city.
I did the extended tour and stayed on for the Cholitas wrestling add on. I thought that the tour was quite special. The cemetery was certainly unique. Walking through the regular Thursday market and visiting the Witches' market was eye-opening. Taking two modes of public transportation (Van and Teleferico) was beneficial to the rest of my time in La Paz. Adding on the Cholitas wrestling event was a great deal of fun and unlike anything else I had ever experienced. My guide Christian was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Definitely, worth the price of admission!
This was the first thing we did when we arrived into La Paz to orientate ourselves and get "up to speed". Daniel was our tour guide and was excellent - he offered a fascinating insight to history, cultural beliefs and the way of life of a local. We also did the Cholita wrestling tour that evening which was a lot of fun. I highly recommend this tour as a great way to learn so many things about La Paz in a very engaging and fun way!
I went on the Extended Tour with Max and I had a great time. It was very interesting learning about the Aimara culture through the cemetery and the witch markets. Max was very knowledgeable and was happy to answer our questions. I really got to enjoy La Paz thanks to him. Highly recommend.
The guide was late to the meeting. There were more than 20 people in the tour. Most of our time with the tour spent waiting for busses, people and the guide. Information shared was quite inadequate. Not worth the money. Best to find a free walking tour and pay for the received service rather than upfront.
Very well organized tour with a great selection of sights. Gtreat atmosphere and information at the cemetery. Unique feel of the brujas market in el alto. Great way to fill 3 hours if you are staying for a short time.
Our guide Max was amazing and shared so much interesting Information about the traditions and beliefs and about El Alto. experiencing public transport was great and the big witches market in El Alto is huge and cool to experience. I felt in good hands and would not habe gone on my own.
The tour itself was great! The guides were very informative! They are very patient and answered all the questions we had. Highly Recommended!!
Denise was an amazing guide. Lots of stories behind the traditions. Highly recommend. Make sure to include cholita wrestling show
We had an amazing time on this tour with Daniel as our tour guide. He gave us so much information about the beliefs of people in Bolivia and lots of interesting facts that we wouldn’t have found out if we didn’t do a tour. It was great to have things explained in the cemetery and at the witches market to understand what goes on. It was fun to ride the cable cars and to get transport with a guide who knew what to do!
Easily one of the best walking tours I have experienced so far. Our guide found the perfect mix of historical/cultural information, fun facts and useful tips. Very educational but not overloaded by information. Her English was perfectly fluent and you could sense her passion for her city and showing it to visitors. Loved to see the parts of La Paz that were a bit off the beaten path. Visiting the cemetery without a guide wouldn't have been nearly as interesting and the witch market should also better be visited with a local who can make sure you approach the less touristy areas and their inhabitants respectfully and safely. Some great views were also included. 10/10, highly recommend! Side note: bring a rain coat ;)
I expected more of the cable cars. The guide spent way too much time in the cemetery and markets. The market was literally a brisk walk through a crowd and was very uncomfortable. Not worth $20US
We took the cable car to el alto and the watches market. Also visited the cemetery. The views were amazing . Our guide was very informative. Would recommend this tour
The trip is a good way to understand Bolivian history and culture. The guide was very professional in explaining the religion and virtues. The experience in using la Paz’s public transport was also amazing
Really enjoyed the tour with Max! He was very informative and educational. He took his time to explain everything in detail, and was alwasy willing to take time to answer all of our questions.
I've been on many walking tours. This was one of the best I've been on. Not only was what we were seeing interesting, but our guide really elevated the experience. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. But how she presented what we were visiting really elevated the experience. This tour company is excellent. My guide was Denise! She was great!
Christian was a great tour guide. He took us around the places I wouldn’t have been able to go to alone as a tourist. This is a great tour if you want to learn more about the history and culture of la paz.
Denise our tour guide was awesome. A wealth of knowledge ... we covered everything on the list in an exciting and colorful way - highly recommended
A friend and I took the tour on 6/12/23. Our tour guide Denise was AWESOME She knew everything about everything and made sure we had a great time - we did!
Great tour to get the know the city from above (in the cable cars). Christian was an amazing guide with lots of positive energy - making for happy memories! The shaman at the witches market had some interesting things to say about our fortune, let’s see if it comes true or not!
This was my favorite tour. Our guide, Max, explained the traditions in great detail. The cable car to El Atlo to the witches market was incredible.
Our guide, Daniel, was very informative and fun. We went to very interesting places, including many areas in El Alto that I wouldn't visit myself otherwise. Totally recommend
Our tour guide Max was excellent. He spoke very good English and was very enthusiastic and informative about sharing his home town and their culture with us. We rode in a collectivo to the cemetery and saw beautiful art murals and learned about the local customs, took the cable cars to El Alto where the view of the mountains was fantastic. Seeing the witches market with a local guide to answer our questions made it very special. We had a great afternoon with Max! I highly recommend this tour if you want to get outside of downtown La Paz and see other neighborhoods.
The guide Daniel was great and told the history of everything. We got to ride public transport and also the cable cars which was brilliant. Time was given to take photos and answer a lot of questions. I will definately do this again.
Christiano - was the best guide ever. His enthusiasm and knowledge of La Paz and Bolivian culture was excellent. Great overall tour of La Paz and great value for $$.
This tour is definitely worth it! You get to learn a lot about local religion and spirituality and visit places you wouldn't go on your own. Of course the cable cars are a fun (and impressive) highlight of the city where you get to see the whole city and the mountains that surround it. Visiting the El Alto witch doctor's street with only locals coming for treatment felt like a real privelege. Our guide Max is a gifted storyteller and a very nice person who makes you feel welcomed and safe in his city.
Max was a wonderful guide a spoke passionately about his culture and traditions. I have marked the tour down as we only saw the cemetery from the outside, not inside to see the art work (which is why I booked). I was also expecting a fortune telling from the Shaman, but we didn’t get this. I felt the contents of tour was disappointing.
Great adventure! We visited a place in El Alto we would have never found on our own! 100% would recommend
