Used Bolivia hop to travel from puno to Copacabana then tour of island de Sol before bus to La Paz. The Peru side bus was very comfy and good. The Bolivia hop bus is smaller as must be for the rafts. Emerson was our guide on the Bolivia hop bus and very informative.
I actually did two nights on Isla Del Sol and it was fantastic. Emerson was a brilliant tour guide explaining everything as we went and making sure everyone understood the timings and departures. Very good communication and helpful suggestions, would definitely recommend this trip - also stay on the island if you have time!
Ivan was an amazing guide so helpful and made the border crossing from Copacabana to La Paz super easy!
The bus drive is not very comfortable but what can we do?! We had 3 guides but Andres was the best! He was attentive, patient with everyone rite and always available to answer any questions. We stayed the night in Isla del Sol so on the second day we had another host picking us up: Ivan was not very good, he was in a rush but we didn't have a specific meet up point and he didn't look for us, he was not helpful with getting in and out of the boats like Andres and as soon as we arrived back in Copacabana e just runs in front and we almost missed him and the way to our bus, he did not look back at all, so the interactions with him were not great... Our final host on the return bus was Emerson and he was quite nice as well.
Abner is a very professional guide. During the whole tour, he shared a lot of information about this country and showed us a very beautiful side of Bolivia. He was also kind and patient in answering every question or enquiry. Even if we met any problem, he was always happy to offer his help. Our stay in Bolivia was nice and smooth thanks to Abner.
Great experience!! Would recommend especially to stay in la Isla del Sol. Our guides Andres and Javier were amazing and helped us every stepped of the way. We got picked up from our La paz hotel and dropped off at the end. We booked out stay for the isla del sol with airbnb (vicentes place) and had an amazing time! Worth it. If you have heavier bags id recommend to do the walk on the first port stop on the island. The stairs are killer. Pack light dont need much anyways. Food was amazing on the island. Las velas and uñtisiwi near the palla khasa view point.
Our Viatour to Isla de Sol was well organized and well worth the travel involved. The place itself is memorable and is definitely deserving of spending a night or two on the island to explore further amazing views to wake up to across Lake Titicaca. Even though we had not realized there are no vehicles on the island except donkeys, friendly locals with boats and of course walking. Definitely worth the effort.
I was able to book this 2day trip last minute with the travel agency at the hotel I was staying at during an unexpected holiday(in La Paz City no car day). I was able to arrange travel through Copacabana and arrange my own hotel at Isla Del Sol and spend day with a late afternoon boat pickup back to La Paz. Anne’s and Ivan were both great guides and clear with directions on how to get from one boat or bus to another. Loved hotel pickup and drop off! Great as a solo older female traveler! Thank you Abner and Ivan and Bolivia Hop! 👍
Very good trip. Attentions to details, very professional
Andres was our guide for 2 days, he was excellent! Took very good care of us all the time
We did a two day tour to Isla del Sol from La Paz. It is an absolutely magical place and, in our opinion, an absolute must on a trip to La Paz. Also, it has some of the best food we've had in Bolivia! We booked with Bolivia Hop. The whole process was top notch smooth. The communication was precise and abundant. The pick up process ran like clockwork. The buses were punctual and of a good quality with onboard WiFi and charging points + reclining seats. The boat tour was well organised and on time. All in all, this is one of the best run tours I have ever been on. Finally, what set this tour apart was our guide and overall logistics legend: Ivan. Super fluent in both Spanish and English (we were amazed at his ability to deliver instructions clearly in both languages seamlessly), meant that we were fully informed at each step of the trip and never had any doubts about where we needed to be or what was happening. He was also very helpful with recommendations, answering our questions, and sharing top tips. He was always available on WhatsApp for anything that we needed. I have never seen someone work so hard for the enjoyment of others. Thank you for making our trip so memorable! You're a star! Bolivia Hop - give this man a raise!
We arrived in La Paz from Copacabana on New Year's Eve. As anticipated (we had been warned in an email the day before), the city's roads were blocked by markets, and there was no way for the bus to get through. Our guide, Abner, did an amazing job, explaining the situation clearly—that we needed to walk a few minutes to the cable car (teleférico) to continue our journey into the city center. Abner took care of everyone, arranging taxis at the other end to take more than 20 passengers to their different hotels and paying for the extra transportation. One or two passengers were upset about the change of plans, but there was nothing more that could be done. Abner, working all the logistics late into the night under pressure, was impressively professional. We arrived at our hotel around 10:30 pm, with plenty of time to enjoy the incredible New Year's fireworks!
Tour was cancelled due to protesting and road blockades. Reached numerous time for clarification and no response. They don’t offer refunds, only trip credit. Dispute charge with your credit card company. Protests in Bolivia have been getting more intense and increased police activity. I wouldn’t recommend coming to La Paz until the situation improves.
Ivan was a great host! The whole company is very organized and we were just surprised how well everything worked and how exeptional the guides are
It was an amazing experience. The tour guide is very well prepared, on time, great communication on WhatsApp group and possibility to reserve food hours before we arrive in the destination. Very well planned, you can come and relax.
Bolivia Hop / Peru Hop were really accommodating when my friend and I decided to change our plans a few times. I messaged the WhatsApp Peru Hop account and they were very quick to respond and quick to make changes to our reservations as per our requests. I’d highly recommend travelling with them as they are very efficient, organized, stay on schedule, and are very kind.
Andrea Bh did a great job helping us dropped by a place near La Paz airport on the way back from Copacabana and called a taxi for us, which made our trip much easy and smooth
Bolivia /Peru Hop worked like a dream. Very herlpful support staff dealing with my anxieties! Totally reliable and accommodation suggested excellent We adapted this trip to extend over 5 nights
Epic trip from Copacabana to La Paz. Nain is the best tour guide! 5/5 - very recommended, I went as a solo traveler from Peru.
Abner was an exceptional host and made the experience so great. The service is so well organised and the team they provide (Abner) make it a really enjoyable experience. Peru Hop is out of its league in terms of organisation, ease of use. The information Abner provided and his passion for his job shone through. His recommendations and service on the day tours was brilliant. Thank you so much for an amazing trip from Copacabana to Puno
Highly professional staff and guide. Emerson was great he had a commanding knowledge of English and Spanish, and flawlessly switched back and forth and providing us with much helpful information regarding our trip and the sites that we were seeing. Everything about the trip was well organized, and we were extremely well informed regarding options on where to eat, where to stay, and where to meet. Highly recommend this group.
Everything was perfectly organized. Ivan the guide, and Andres as well, did an amazing job! The views were stunning, the whole itinerary was explained perfectly, and it was an enjoyable trip. Also, the bus is modern and comfortable. We had WiFi (which was working!) and power sockets, and a lot of leg room.
Bolivia Hop provided the best door to door transportation and adventure. They were patient with all of our questions and always willing to help. Highly recommend.
I am old and not familiar with IT -Cell phone etc. But Ivan he helped me so much. He is trustworthy and I will not forget him and his true attitude ,honesty. If I choose Bolivia Hop,the reason is for him. I wish Volivia Hop and Ivan's prosperity. Thank you Kangki Lee
Abner was excellent. everyone that was part of the team were really knowledgeable and fun! great experience, would definitely recommend. thank you. c/s - trinidad & tobago 🇹🇹
Isla del Sol was marvellous. The journey there was horrible in an old uncomfortable bus. A lot of confusion on the bus as there’re were customers of two or three trips mixed. The talk about entering Peru was very confusing as it did not apply to the visitors to Isla del Sol who returned to La Paz. The info materials provided by the operator stated that one can arrange accommodation with the guide on the bus. False. I received that info a day before the trip but only because I took the initiative to confirm. They apologised a lot but apologising is cheap. Moreover, no prior adequate info on what one can do in the many hours alone on the island after arrival in the afternoon till 15:00 the next day. No info one should not book accommodation on top of the very steep hill, requiring to walk a steep donkey oath, if one has luggage. All the talk about amigios and chicos did not make it more friendly. One recommendable highlight was the female guide who was in charge of the minibus, which brought us to our accommodation in La Paz: she waited till my accommodation host opened the door because she was concerned about personal safety. Thank you
Super organized! I would recommend it to travel in Bolivia. We crossed the border with Peru Hop and proceeded to La Paz with Bolivia Hop. They follow you in any part of the trip, never left alone! A big thank to Abner, who was a very good guide and helped me to find a book I left on the bus! Thanks a lot
I joined the tour with my close friend, and we were not satisfied with it at all! We crossed the border (which is quite an interesting border in the world), and the tour guide Juan Carlos was super helpful, but Guia Moises was just so-so. We bought a special Titicaca Lake tour through the Peru Hop platform, but we didn’t see anything of interest. They took us to one island and then asked us to buy a special Titicaca boat tour. The cost was 10 Sol, but Peru Hop was selling it for 15 Sol. You should always be sure about prices. They vary a lot everywhere. Bargaining is always possible, but Peru Hop’s inconsistency in this regard was not good at all. By the way, the handmade products on the island are sold for at least 100 Sol, and if you don't buy anything, the locals might get angry with you. You’ll also have to wake up at 5:30 AM, join the 6:00 AM tour without breakfast, and you might even get scolded on top of that.
Nain was our wonderful guide, he was happy to answer any questions and always cheerful. The bus was comfortable enough and blankets were provided for the night time. I’ve been on more comfortable buses with other companies but no complaints!
The representatives of the company and the senior managers have good intentions, but good intentions do not properly deliver what the company advertises. They sell a good product for backpackers that are not concerned with quality services, clean accommodation, and value for money. The ads of the company show that they differentiate from other companies because they pick you up and drop you off at your accommodation. It is not true for more than 50% of the drop-offs and pick-ups. You pay the tours and accommodation in advance, but in many instances, the company put you in party hotels or low quality accommodation. Many of the tours are cancelled, and sometimes the company needs to move you to cheaper hotels due to overbooking, but the company does not want to refund your money straight away. They insist on giving you credit for future use (you need to insist a lot to have your money back). If you have heavy bags with wheels (because you've travelled by plane before to join the tour of the Company), prepare to carry your bags for hundreds of mts and climb dozen of stairs. You request, during the booking of your tours of the company, some of your requirements (e.g., book only rooms on the ground floor due to problems with lower back). The Company accepts your requirements but never delivers your specific requirements. Another thing is the fact that the company offers VIP tickets with advantages for additional costs. I bought VIP tickets, but it did not give me any advantage in relation to other guests who paid less. In fact, everything that happens during the tours is based on who is stronger and quicker to arrive first in hotels and buses. These people get the best of everything, even if you paid for VIP seats and benefits. Note that some tours offered are based on the destruction of natural environments (e.g., hundreds of buggies over beautiful dunes in Huacachina).
The trip went smoothly, and Andres and Luis were both helpful with Logistics. The area is beautiful, and the two day stay is totally worth it to explore more of the island. I wish that the tour guides had done more to explain about history and culture, etc. of the island and also details of the sights on the way to the island.
Amazing place. Cool guides, Abner and Andres were super helpful. Nice short hike on the island. The fish was fresh and I could bathe in the lake
This was an amazing trip where I got to experience the Bolivian culture and see all that it had to offer. This tour company was very professional and communicative and for us to and from our destination on time with no delay. I would definitely recommend this company
We had an amazing trip! The whole organization from booking to the end of the tour everything was just perfect. Bolivia Hop has a great customer service, they answer questions in shortest time (we used whatsapp), they were on time with all pickups even with that crazy traffic in La Paz. Our tour guide Abner was super nice and very knowledgeable about the spots we visited. He made everyone feel welcomed and being a part of the group. On the trip back to La Paz our guide was Luis and he was just as nice and friendly and caring as Abner. We highly recommend Bolivia Hop for a great tour experience!
Bolivia Hop is a great idea, but needs to work on the concept. The way from La Paz to Isla del sol worked well, the return trip far less. There was a big lack of reliable communication. “You have to be at the dock at 14.45 for the boat (from Isla) at 15” said the guide. At 15 I still was alone, fearing something was wrong with my transport, and it took another 10 minutes before the guide arrived. Late out of Copacabana too. The ferry transfer was chaotic, the passengers having to stand in hard rain with other bus guests and guess when our bus should arrive. And in La Paz the transfer to minibuses was chaotic too..
Luis was very kind, proactive and always willing to help. He understood my needs and adjusted his recommendations based on that. This made my experience enjoyable. If I return to Bolivia, I definitely would like to have him again as my tour guy.
Bolivia Hop is a great and easy way to get from Puno to La Paz, especially with the added tour from Copacabana to Isla Del Sol. We took the walking tour of the island in the afternoon, stayed overnight, and took their boat back the following afternoon. Both boat trips and the hiking tour for just a US$10 add-on! We got back to Copacabana well in time for the connecting bus to La Paz. Our guide on the boat and the hike, Abner, was excellent. Very informative! Highly recommended. If you are considering to do Isla del Sol as a day trip from La Paz, however, I would recommend against it. You sit in the bus for something like 7+ hours for just a short boat ride and hike. Way too rushed. Make sure you spend a night on the island; you will not regret it!
Super easy and relaxing way to travel, nice trip to Isla del Sol (if you wanted to go). Went from La Paz to Cusco, tour guides were all very good. Special thanks to Abner who was very kind and helpful, he made a great tour with interesting information for Isla del Sol. Online you can add your pickup and drop-off locations.
First of all thank you Andres for your care, help and great info. Buses were comfortable and on time, a big plus. We actually went all the way to Puno, Peru. In Peru buses’ bathrooms needed attention - cleaning, refilling water to wash hands and flush the toilet.
Excellent bilingual guides. Bolivia Hop made seeing Lake Titicaca easy. They picked us up from our hotel in central La Paz and dropped us off there the next day. Copacabana and Isla del Sol are beautiful. Highly recommend this tour company.
From the get go our guides were very helpful throughout our whole journey, letting us know what our plan was for the day and preparing us for border crossings, etc. I'd recommend the isla del sol tour, it's a beautiful island with great views of the lake. Huge shoutout to our guide Abner who helped us organise our Death Road tour at very short notice (the night before) while we were en route to La Paz, he shared his WiFi hot-spot to allow us to send booking details and he took care of the rest, thanks Abner!
Awesome experience with Boliviahop, guides are very friendly and informative and super helpful with booking tours/ferrys/etc as well as assisting with the border crossing stuff. Highly recommend! Also got heaps of help from the people at the office in La Paz, we were finding everything a bit confusing and they helped us out heaps
Luis is an exceptional guide and helped us tailor this trip to suit our needs. We ended up staying two nights in Isla del Sol and he made sure that we got back on the boat to Copacabana. Luis also helped us book additional tours. Luis attentiveness and helpfulness were superior!
Easy way to cross borders with help from. Our guide Abner . He is very helpful and attentive in our travel needs. Thank you
Andres was very helpful and informed us with everything necessary leaving us with almost no questions. He has a very relaxed and happy nature. Great trip!
I used Peru hop to travel around Peru and continued with Bolivia hop through Bolivia. Both companies were great and on the whole the organisation, guides and tour options were great. This was particularly the case with BoliviaHop who’s guides Peter, Abner and Luis were extremely kind and friendly. Very well organised and went the extra mile to make late night journeys comfortable and hotel transfers swift. Thank you guys will recommend you to all my friends.
Absolutely spotless tour and one of the best guides (Abner) we had in our travel experience of 70+ countries. Taking this tour is not only about making your traveller’s life easier. I don’t think you can get the same experience by organising trip on your own. There’s clearly added value in travelling with Bolivia Hop. They thought about the minutest details to make the trip extremely comfortable and unforgettable. Everything was sharp on time. We even received souvenirs at the end of the trip. Regarding the destination and views, you can hardly get better ones anywhere in the world. Overall, amazing!
The bus was on time, clean, and safely driven. The drive and tour guide were professional and very helpful crossing the border. I removed 1 star only because I didn't feel the Isla del Sol trip was worthwhile.
The guides were organized, kind and fun. We had a wonderful time and would definitely use this company's services again in the future!
