We had an absolutely amazing day with our driver and guide, Tad! From beginning to end, the entire experience was fantastic and ended up being one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. Tad was incredibly friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and accommodating. He arrived promptly, and his car was spotless, comfortable, and very well maintained. We immediately felt at ease with him, and he made the entire day feel relaxed and enjoyable rather than rushed. We started our day in Nara, where we had so much fun feeding the famous deer. Tad then gave us a wonderful tour around the temple area, sharing information and helping us really appreciate what we were seeing rather than simply walking through on our own. We also got to watch the famous mochi pounding right at the window, which was such a fun and memorable experience! Throughout the day, we had time for a delicious lunch and walked through several different shopping areas, giving us plenty of opportunities to explore, browse, and enjoy the atmosphere. Tad did a great job balancing sightseeing with free time, and the entire itinerary flowed perfectly. We then traveled to Uji, where we had the opportunity to learn how to make matcha tea. It was such a unique, hands-on experience and a wonderful way to finish the day. What really made the tour special was Tad himself. He was warm, patient, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care that we were having a great experience. He kept everything running smoothly while still allowing us to enjoy each stop at our own pace. If you are looking for a private day tour of Nara, Uji, or the surrounding area, I cannot recommend Tad enough. Between the deer, temples, mochi pounding, shopping, lunch, matcha-making experience, and Tad’s wonderful hospitality, this was truly an unforgettable day. We would absolutely book with him again. 10/10 experience!

Ana was an exceptional tour guide! He knowledge of the history, culture and Kyoto was informative. Ana has the perfect personality for working with people. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and first time in Kyoto.

Our tour guide Milos was great! It felt like a friend showing us around the city. He knew a lot about the history of the city, temples, shrines and Japan in general. He showed us his local spots which more value to the tour. The length of the tour was about 7hrs which was enough for us.

We just spent the day with Tad today which exceeded our expectations. He was a delight to spend the day with, could not have been more helpful. Travelling with my 2 boys and husband in a wheelchair (paraplegic). Van had a chair which electrically came out allowing transfer into the vehicle so easy. We chose locations we knew in a wheelchair would be a challenge and Tad made it simple for us. It to mention he had all the photo skills. Cannot recommend enough for any family. Thankyou so much

Very efficient way to see the must-see sights of Kyoto. Our guide had been living in the city for years, and showed us around, using the wonderful public transport system. We saw the golden temple, bamboo forest, temple with 1000 statues, temple with the 1000 toriis.

We had a great experience with Milo. He was very knowledgeable and showed us many local sights as well as temples and shrines.

Really nice walking tour. Was more of a pleasant walk where you see a couple of stunning sights and get showeted with nuggets of wisdom from a knowledgeable local. Except in our case the local was a Serb, who was great company. Kudos to Milo for making this a memorable experience.

We had a fantastic half-day tour with our guide, Milo, provided to us by Kyoto Daily Tours. Milo told us a great deal about the culture and history of Japan and even answered our questions about the places we had already visited. Before the tour we had explored some parts of the city on our own, so we shaped the itinerary together to focus on the most interesting spots we hadn’t seen yet. The tour combined both popular sights and hidden, off-the-beaten-track places, which made the experience exciting and engaging from start to finish. We had an amazing early morning guided tour of Kyoto with our guide, Milo! He was right on time, arriving at our place at 6:00 a.m., and showed us three incredible spots: Fushimi Inari Taisha, the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, and Kinkakuji Temple. Milo knew so much about these places, sharing cool historical stories that really made us appreciate each one. Plus, he was super friendly, making the whole thing feel so relaxed and fun for everyone. I recommend Milo for anyone who wants a really well-rounded and awesome guided tour!

Milo was just a phenomenal tour guide! It was almost instantaneous how comfortable my friends and I all felt. Even before the tour, he kept us informed so we’d have a general idea of what to expect on our journey. We visited Fushimi Inari Taisha, Arashiyama Bamboo Forest , and Kinkaku-ji. He clearly knows his stuff! He provided us with so much information at each landmark, and even small details we would have never known. Additionally his recs on food and other things to do were very appreciated. We highly recommend booking him!

Excellent walking tour of Kyoto with Paco. It was a private tour for our party of six with the ability to make your own itinerary. He emailed us prior to the tour to ask about any specific request of places would like to see. Day of tour he arrived promptly to our hotel to pick us up. He helped us navigate the trains to get to different sites. He took to us to some beautiful and less touristy temples and shrines so would not face the huge crowds. He was easy to converse with, very knowledgeable, and we enjoyed the day spent touring with him. At the end of the tour, he was kind enough to assist with purchasing tickets to other destinations such as Hiroshima which we planned to visit as well. He also sent over a list of other sites we could explore in Kyoto as well as restaurant recommendations. Paco is a wonderful guide for touring Kyoto.

Excellent tour of Kyoto with Paco, our tour guide. We were a party of six and we did an all day private with him. Ahead of the tour, he emailed to make sure the sites we would like to see in Kyoto would be included in the itinerary. On the.day of the tour, he arrived promptly at our hotel to start the tour. We had a full of sightseeing with a break for lunch. Paco was very knowledgeable and told us so many interesting facts and stories. He had a great personality, was easy to talk to, and answered so many questions that we had. At the end of the tour he was nice enough to assist us with booking railway tickets to other destinations in Japan that we plan to visit, which was very helpful. Highly recommend this tour and Paco as a guide.

I had an amazing tour day with Tad!!! We manage to visit the must iconic planes in Kyoto: 1. Kiyomizu-dera temple 2. Ninenzaka 3. Sannenzaka 4. Kinkaku-ji 5. Fushimi Inari Taisha 6. Bamboo forest 7. Mangetsuji temple Also, he had a lot of knowledge about the history, architecture, shoguns legacy and more. I loved it!! Last but not least, Tad was the best one, taking pics for me to have the must wonderful memories.

I wanted a guide and a vehicle. I went to their website Kyoto Daily Tours and booked a taxi tour for 6 people for 1.5 days. Communication was great. The guide (Tad)contacted me and we built an itinerary / schedule based on what we wanted to visit. Deposit made with balance payable to guide by credit card or cash. I had to pay additional fees for parking, tolls, entrance fees, and lunch for the guide (full day tour). Overall cost was cheaper than a big bus tour. He brought us to a wonderful restaurant based on what we wanted to eat. He even took our group pictures and video, showed us the good picture spots and even bought wafers to feed the deer in Nara. Tad was our guide, driver and photographer. Thank you, Tad, for a great time.

Paco did a great job as our guide on the Kyoto in One Day Tour. We saw 4 incredible shines/temples and he helped us adapt our itinerary to see a variety of sites in different areas of the city. He was very knowledgable about the history of the Shinto and Buddhist religions, the emperors and shogun rulers, along with the chronology of Japanese history. We are 6 older women and he was so considerate and helpful getting us on and off public transportation, educating us along the way, taking great care of us throughout the day. I would highly recommend the tour along with our amazing tour guide Paco!

We had an unforgettable experience with Tad on our private tour from the Osaka cruise port to Kyoto. We left around 11:30 AM and returned by 9 PM, and every moment in between was perfectly planned. Adrian, our guide led our tour of Kyoto. We visited a number of shrines and walked through many street markets. We asked Adrian if we could visit areas away from the city and he took us to a beautiful bamboo forest. Adrian’s knowledge of Kyoto and its history was impressive. He was a lot of fun to be with and did a great job of taking us to sites in Kyoto we would not have found on our own. Highly recommend this tour.

We had a wonderful tour of Kyoto with our guide Jose. We focused on the shrines and got to visit all of the shrines on our list. Jose was very friendly and knowledgeable. We learned a lot about the Shinto and Buddhist traditions and Jose explained the history and significance of each shrine along with an explanation of the specific forms of rituals. We also learned a lot about Kyoto and Japanese culture. I highly recommend this tour with Jose.

We did a day long tour with Kyoto Daily Tours, and our excellent guide Tad. Tad was very knowledgeable about every site that we went to. From the beginning when we booked our tour I heard back from Tad and he always answered my questions ahead of our travel right away. He sent an itinerary suggesting sites and was very flexible to amending the list several times after we were able to secure tickets to Katsura Imperal Villa and the Moss Temple. We even changed on the day of to substitute Hanari Garden from another site after our hotel staff highly recommended the Garden. Tad was great at taking photos of us and put together "a movie" of our adventure. He had a great suggestion for lunch and while we waited for our food he showed us how to make origami frogs as chopstick holders. Tad is very polite, respectful and helpful. Our entire family had a wonderful time spending the day with him and getting to know Kyoto.

Our guide, Paco, was a nice graduate student from Spain, but we really didn't learn a lot about the places we saw. He had a fairly thick thick english accent which made it a little hard to understand. It was a very rainy day, which made it little hard to enjoy. We were really hoping for someone who was more of a true local who could give us more in depth information what we were seeing and give us more fun facts. We felt like we could have gone to these places ourselves.

Milo was an amazing guide. Incredibly knowledgeable about not only Kyoto but history and culture. He guided us through less common areas avoiding the large tourist crowds. We highly recommend Milo.

Our guide Laura provided a wonderful early morning walking tour around Gion and Kiyomizu. She is an excellent storyteller and holds an impressive knowledge of both historic and contemporary Japan. Our family of four had the most amazing day in Kyoto. Thanks to Adria, who made our trip truly unforgettable! From the moment we met him at our local train station, his vibrant, friendly, and knowledgeable personality made us feel like we’d known him for years. Adria took us to all the major attractions we wanted to see and even surprised us with a few hidden gems along the way. One of our favorite moments was enjoying a delicious, informal street food lunch in a peaceful local park surrounded by cherry blossoms - it was the perfect local experience!!! He also introduced us to Kyoto’s public transportation like buses, trams, local trains, and even a cab ride, giving us a real feel for daily life in Japan. And because he noticed that we were “fast walkers” and could tell we were a well-traveled family (his words, not ours :-D ), he surprised us by squeezing in one more town we had hoped to visit since we had a bit of extra time. It was such a thoughtful and fun bonus!!! It was a full day that flew by way too fast because we enjoyed every moment of it - the sites, the food, the stories, and most of all, Adria’s wonderful company. We highly recommend him to anyone visiting Kyoto!!!
