Daiki-san was an amazing guide. He picked us up from our Hotel and was very informative along the entire tour. Because it was a private tour, we were able to take our time and request extra stops for pictures. Our guide had a lot of energy and was incredibly funny. We would absolutely book again! We also bought a lot of local tea. He also dropped us off where we wanted rather than back at the hotel upon our request of course~

Beside you can have a look and buy the tea products directly sold by the local farmers with the lowest prices without commissions!
The green tea fields to the sky! It was a right choice for us to book a private tour to visit temples around kyoto area. It saved us time and effort. 5/5 experience in all. Everything was organized and prepared well!! Our tour guide is amazing!
It was a educational and interesting tour. Great guide Daiike. Green tea a major product of japan. ..
We had a wonderful experience today with Daiki. Tour offers various experiences and scenic views. Would recommend to spend some time for a half day tour in Osaka!
My wife and I had such a great tour with our guide Daiki. He was knowledgeable, friendly and fun to converse with. He taught us so much about Japanese Tea and culture and answered every question we had. We learned so much. We got off the beaten path and enjoyed matcha tasting, tea shopping, and the tour to Uji and Wazuka. Totally recommend and would go again! Thank you Daiki!
The tour was one of a kind offering to see the beautiful matcha fields and enjoy a local experience with smaller farmers and their products. Our guide was very patient when I thought I lost my phone, calling around and being willing to go back if needed. He has strong English speaking and comprehension skills, which was helpful in understanding the details of the tour. We enjoyed the varied cultural conversations. He was open to discussing many aspects of Japanese history and culture that were very enlightening. We immensely enjoy our time with him.
We experienced a great tour from our guide Daiki. He's was very organized, messaged us a couple days before, confirmed everything, and shared his location when he was arriving. This tour is one of a kind, there is no other tea tour like his in Kyoto. We went to places a big tour bus can't get to. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip.
This was a really special tour. Getting to see the tea farms in Wazuka was incredible. The tea shop we stopped at had one of the best selections of Japanese teas I’ve ever seen. Daiki was an excellent guide, extremely knowledgeable and a really fun person to spend the day with. I would take a tour anywhere with him. If you like tea & beautiful scenery, this is worth every penny.
Highly enjoyed the tour. Daiki is an amazing guide. Communication was great and he was very flexible while making sure that we get the best experience. My family had the best time!
Daiki was very kno about his region and went above to show us tea shops. On the drive, we learnt a lot about Japanese culture and history. He was also curious about Canada and the similarities between both countries. Our favourite part was the stop in Uji to buy some matcha.
Daiki san picked us up punctually from our hotel. He was very friendly and knowledgeable, giving us insights and history of tea while driving us safely throughout the trip. I had the most amazing sencha & was absolutely mind blown! What top the icing of the cake was Daiki san took very nice pictures of us near the tea fields. Such a lovely keepsake! If you're thinking whether to do this tour or not, think no more! Just sign up & have a blast!
We had a great afternoon with Daiki exploring the areas of Kyoto around the tea plantations. So many lovely things to see. As tea-people, we absolutely loved this tour! We took a little too long at the first temple we visited, so we lost some tea shopping time! Be sure to follow Daiki’s timeline so you have a nice amount of time everywhere.
If you are looking for a way to explore beautiful tea plantations and learn about tea growing while being driven in your own private vehicle, then this tour is for you. Daiki, our guide, was prompt, friendly, and very knowledgeable! We enjoyed learning some Osaka history along with tea and the growing techniques. We had a change in pickup address and I messaged Daiki thru the WhatsApp and he immediately responded and said it was no problem and shared his location and arrival time. If you are looking to get away from the big city and see an area few were in, then this tour is for you! I highly recommend booking this tour!
Daiki provided our family with an engaging and enlightening tour of the tea growing region and several Kyoto temples. He was informative about local history, tea farming, and so much more. Our kids had a wonderful afternoon and loved seeing the countryside. It was a highlight of our vacation! I will absolutely contact him again when we return.
Very nice and well informed guide to the very beautiful green tea fields in Uji
Daiki, our guide was brilliant, his English was fantastic. Lots of time to chat and ask questions about day to day living in Japan. Explainet lots about the temples we visited. Arrived on time right outside our hotel. My favourite part was the most peaceful and tranquil Shoju-in Temple. I did thin we might be getting more in to the tea fields to walk around and see how the tea is processed but this was not the case. Still beautiful to look at from the roadside. So lovely to have the transport all taken care of with the door to door round trip.
Daiki’s tour provided a wonderful way for us to experience the heart of green tea production in Wazuka and Uji. He was a laidback yet enthusiastic guide with knowledge not just of hidden places deeply significant to green tea production, but of the spiritual aspects underlying this essential part of Japanese culture. With every sip of green tea we take in the future, we will always remember this day.
Daiki took us on an unforgettable journey through the Wazuka Tea plantations just outside of Uji, Japan. Daiki was very knowledgable and passionate about his job. I appreciated all the additional insight he provided throughout the tour. He allowed us to go at our own pace and at no point did we feel rushed, adding to the serene experience. Daiki taught us a great deal about Buddhist culture and the political climate around Japan both throughout history and currently. It was an absolutely phenomenal trip. Definitely aim to go on a day with clear skies. We got perfect weather for our trip and that definitely enhanced the experience.
As a tea lover, this was the highlight of my trip to Japan! Our guide, Daiki, picked us up at our hotel and drove us around tea country in Uji and the nearby vicinity. We visited some amazing scenic spots, as well as local temples large and small. Also, the small tea cafe was great and had a large selection of locally farmed teas (and some teaware), which was a nice bonus. As the description clearly says, the tour fee pays for the driver and his experience, but not lunch or admissions. You will want to bring cash (many smaller places don’t take cards) for some admissions and purchases along the way.
This was an amazing tour! Our guide, Daiki, was very friendly and explained so much about Japanese tea history, the area we toured, and helped us better understand temple etiquette when we visited some temples outside Kyoto. The tea cafe was great: it had delicious food and anlso offered very good deals on top quality tea grown right in the areas we toured!
We had an amazing time exploring the tea museum, temples, tea fields, and sight seeing. Our guide was well informative and we learned so much.
This was the highlight of the 2 weeks we spent in Japan. Daiki was our guide and he structured the tour based on our preferences. He was also very knowledgeable about the area and he is very cool. We drove to a tea museum, then drove the tea fields, we tried different teas, saw Byōdō-in temple, and got to see the gorgeous scenery in the Uji, Kyoto area. There were almost no people around which made it way more scenic. I also enjoyed chatting with Daiki about video games. It was fantastic trip, and a really great way to experience Kyoto. I highly recommend.
My husband and I booked the private Tea Field Tour and loved the personalized attention. Daiki knew how to get us through popular sites when the crowd size was smaller. The tour lasted more than 5.5 hours and it was a great experience! I learned so much about tea, Ninjas, and spiritual practices of Japan. Daiki is very curious and always learning new tidbits to add to share on his tours. One of my favorite take aways is his statement, "People think you need to be quiet at shrines, but Gods are party people." This freed me up to make the rest of my shrine visits more joyful and playful. I cannot wait to join Daiki on more adventures on my next trip to Japan.
Daiki is amazing! He showed us so many hidden gems that we would’ve never found! This was one of the most scenic tours I’ve ever been on! You will definitely have an amazing time.
Daiki is fantastic. Patient, considerate, and knowledgeable, he made this tour the highlight of our trip! He's very personable and we loved every stop that was made because of the info he shared not just about the history but about the changes in modern times. You can't go wrong taking this trip especially if you are a tea/matcha lover or even if the history of it or the temples interests you at all!
We had such a great day. Daiki has a wealth of knowledge about Japanese history and culture and has such enthusiasm for sharing it. He also has such patience for all of my picture taking. Daiki even dropped us off at a nearby restaurant so we could get straight to dinner at the end of the day. The scenery is the region is truly incredible-tea fields, rice paddies, bamboo and cedar forests line the roads. Very interesting temples; Byodo-in was particularly special. Had a tea flight and matcha affogato at Wazuka-cha cafe which was very enjoyable.
It was a very good tour, they took us to very beautiful green tea fields and we love it so much that they can adapt the places that you want to go or not to!
We did two tours with Daiki, the tea fields tour (extended) and the ninja tour. Both were very well organized, the vehicle is comfortable and Daiki offers the possibility to adapt the program to your specific interests. The places visited are off the beaten track, with not many other tourists, which is great. Daiki also gave us nice food recommendations. On the tea tour you visit a tea store/cafeteria and some photo spots in the fields, but you don’t really walk around in the tea fields for long of visit a factory. The scenery is very nice though. Recommended!
Daiki is a great guide, very knowledgeable and fun! We definitely recommend him, as we enjoyed this experience. Thanks
The tour was amazing! Daiki is knowledgeable, fun, and full of happy energy. He taught us a lot about tea, Japanese culture, and history. During the ride, we saw picturistic Japan, which better represents the country than what metropolitan cities usually show tourists. We bought pure grade teas and Matcha from local farmers. The pictures we took were fantastic!
Our trip with Daiki to see the Uji green tea fields was a top highlight of our three weeks in Japan. We saw beautiful green terraced tea plantations, Ujigami (the oldest shrine in Japan) and enjoyed a delicious matcha dessert at a rustic Wazuka cafe. Daiki kindly took us to see the Genji Museum (at my request), if you like Japanese literature/history this a fantastic exoerience. His minivan is clean and comfy. Best of all, Daiki is friendly, easygoing, knowledgeable and so easy to talk to. We plan to book more tours with Daiki and you should too!
Our tour guide took us to the town where the farmers produced the best quality matcha and was able to buy local products from the farmers cooperative which help support the farming community. Even had a meal. Our guide was also very knowledgeable and ready to answer questions about Japanese culture. Highly recommended!
We did 3 different things on this private tour with Daiki, a fluent English speaker. First we caught magical weeping plum trees in peak blossom at Jonangu Temple. This was recommended by a local and we were one of few tourists there. The fragrance was amazing! Its off the beaten path so glad we had Daiki driving. Next we went to Uzi, which is like the Napa Valley for tea. Learned a lot and sampled different types of tea. The scenery was lovely. Finally we ended up at Byudoin Temple and Musuem. Lots of history and we learned a lot about Shintoism and Buddhism. Definitely recommend!
We had a wonderful day and saw nature and shrines that we wouldn’t have been able to otherwise experience and learned so much!
The green tea fields in Ugi were simply breathtaking. It was a trip off the beaten track and Daiki Fukaishi was an amazing guide. He thoughts are unconventional and makes an interesting conversationalist.
Best day in my Life and trip with Viator 😍☀️🍀💕. Thank you and beautiful day Viator 🍀💕☀️😍🌸🌺🍀
We had a great day in the tea fields. Our guide Daiki was fluent in English and very knowledgeable and accommodating. We asked for a couple of changes because we had already been to Byodo-in temple. The tea plantation area was amazing even though it was a little drizzly. Suddenly a great was to visit the tea growing region with an expert guide
What a fantastic tour and well worth the money. Our Guide Daiki was outstanding and very knowledgeable. The tour was not rushed and was just perfectly timed. The scenery was just as the pictures show. We would highly recommend this tour and a big thank you to Daiki
Amazing tour would highly recommend. Daiki went out of his way for us much appreciated. Big thanks to Daiki’s Dad as well!
Daiki is very friendly and an excellent guide. We had a wonderful day in Uji. the landscapes are magnificent. One of our favorite moments during our stay in Japan.
The temples were amazing, the tea field was fantastic, I was able to buy a diverse amount of Tea, if you are traveling solo is 100% worth it, the convertible on the Japan roads feel amazing. I enjoyed the views heading to Uji and seeing the tall Japanese red cedars. I enjoyed the temples but the highlight to me was the tea fields and the beautiful views in the road.
Although it was raining, we had a wonderful and comfortable tour. Daiki did a great job and showed us some beautiful shrines and a stunning view point of the tea fields. He took into account that my mother is not so good at walking and we could do the tour in our own speed, which was nice. I highly recommend!
We had a great time on our 8-9 hour adventure with Daiki. He took us to many great temples and showed us around the Kyoto/Nara/Osaka region. Was definitely an “adventure” and we covered a lot of miles. It was great chatting with him and learning more about Japanese cultures and customs from a local who seems very dedicated to constantly educating himself and learning more about all the many things Japan has to offer. Definitely recommend if you want a customized adventure where you sit back and relax and let him take you where the wind blows. Super fun and memorable :)
Daiki gave us a wonderful, off the beaten path tour. My mom and I have both been to Japan many times, and still managed to see things neither of us have ever seen. My favorite was the temple with the heart shaped window-- it was so empty! No tourists around. The green tea fields were beautiful too. This truly is a one-of-a-kind, unique tour. Thanks, Daiki! Hope to see you again.
Daiki was a great guide! He picked us up on time in a vehicle that was comfortable for 3 American sized men (and one female). We never would've experienced most of the things we saw without this tour as most of it required a car to get to. He even included a bonus shrine or two. Highly recommend. My favorite tour of the trip.
Despite the rain, we enjoyed our countryside trip to see the green tea fields and try the authentic Uji roasted tea and some matcha sweets. We had a side trip to visit the Byodoin museum that showcase Buddist temple treasures. We also stopped to see Shojuin temple and a place of prayer and meditation with Inome (heart-shaped) window and painted flower ceiling and a small, exquisite zen garden. Last, we had a wonderful shabu shabu wagyu dinner at Kinnobuta Matsuiyamateten. Thank you very much to our wonderful guide, Daiki for a memorable countryside experience.
Our tour with Daiki was wonderful. He is energetic and knowledgeable and took us to out of the way places we would have never seen with a group. Daiki had his own larger van so the 3 of us had plenty of room. We went to a local Hot Pot restaurant at the end of your tour and it was great. Thank you Daiki!
Daiki goes above and beyond with this tour. We thoroughly enjoyed being taken into the beautifully, simple life of Japanese green tea growers. We were able to visit a beautiful shrine in the forest where historically, Ninjas lived and trained.
What a great tour! Our guide Daiki drove us far from the hustle and bustle of Kyoto and Osaka into the beautiful countryside. Picture-perfect tea fields, small local temples and tasty matcha were just the beginning of the tour. Daiki drove us on beautiful mountain roads with bamboo and cedar groves back to the civilization. We stopped for dinner at a unique Ramen restaurant so we could wait for nightfall. After dark, we visited Mt. Shigi and the temple with a thousand lanterns that was absolutely magical, and we had the place to ourselves. We felt like we we hanging out with an old friend all day, thank you Daiki. Highly recommended!
We had a really lovely day with Daiki. We really just wanted to get away from the crowds as it was peak Sakura season. Daiki managed to find us beautiful places that had beautiful views of the cherry blossoms but without many other people. He also managed to get us from our hotel in Kyoto to our hotel in Osaka without incident. Highly recommend this as an option for transportation between the two cities with seeing sites along the way that are not accessible by train.
