We are a group of 9 (two families with 5 teens) from the US vacationing in August 2026 to Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan. I did alot of researches and booked different private tours in the 3 countries. The two days with Kosuke (Ko) were the best highlights of our summer trip!! Right after I booked it, Ko reached out via WhatsApp and asked if there's any specific requests or places we want to do / go. This is so different than many private tours, which only reaches out and connect you with the driver / guide the day before your trip! Ko answered all of our questions, helped us with our planning, recommended restaurants and even made reservations for us. We ended up booking him for two days in Kyoto instead of the original one day because we had a feeling he would be great and we were right!! He's not only a driver, he's also a very knowledgeable tour guide. He's from the area. He explained everything, answered all the questions, made suggestions, and adjust our schedule based on the weather. He's very respectful and professional. Everyone in the group loves him! I already recommended him to my friend who went to Kyoto two weeks later but Ko was already booked. Since we only had a short 2 days at Kyoto, when we go again next time, we will definitely book him. Since we had so many private tours during our summer trip, I can confidently say that Ko is the best! Thank you so much!!

We spent the most amazing day with Kosuke! We saw so many different sites all over Kyoto. Not only did Kosuke drive us and drop us off/pick us up in very convenient locations, but he walked through the various locations with us and explained so many things that we would have otherwise missed. We never would have been able to see as many sites in one day, and our experience would not have been as great without Kosuke.! His van was great, and fit our family of 5 perfectly with lots of room. Highly recommend!
We went on a fabulous tour with Kosuke who took us in his huge van around Kyoto. He customized the tour to our preferences and went out of his way to make sure we tried foods and other things we wanted. Also takes fabulous photos Very reasonable cost. Thank you for a 7 hour tour Highly recommend
We had such a great full-day tour with Kosuke! He was very flexible and tailored the day around our family and our kids’ needs, which we really appreciated. His van was super comfortable and honestly such a lifesaver in the summer heat — it was so nice to cool down between stops! Kosuke drove us all the way to Nara, and we still managed to see several highlights in Kyoto without ever feeling rushed. He’s also a great photographer and took some really nice family photos for us throughout the day. Overall, it was such an easy, enjoyable, and memorable day. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. We would highly recommend Kosuke, especially for families traveling with kids!
Kosuke was phenomenal! The best tour guide in Japan! So patient and anticipated our needs as a family with 3 young kids. Cannot say enough. Took great photos too!
Kasuke is an excellent tour guide. He knows the city of Kyoto and its history very well, often surprising us with details we would have never known. For example, the electronics company Cannon was named for Kannon, the Goddess of Mercy in Japanese Buddhism. We covered 3 days of temples in one day in his air conditioned van. Highly recommend.
Great knowledge , great English , native of Kyoto , friendly , nice van , and waited extra time for us
KSK-Tour (Kosuke) did an amazing job at showing our family Kyoto. Kosuke's in-depth knowledge of the area enabled us to see many hidden gems that we would never have discovered on our own. With Kosuke's help, we were able to see many beautiful areas while avoiding the bulk of the crowds. Kosuke is warm and welcoming and is an excellent guide. I would highly recommend engaging KSK-Tours if you are visiting Kyoto or the surrounding area.
We were fortunate enough to have Kosuke as a guide for a day in Kyoto. I travelled with my family (husband, and 3 sons, along with my mother in law), and along with some specific requests from us to see certain tourist spots, Kosuke also recommeded a couple of place along the way that we had not factored in. It was such an amazing day!! Kosuke was amazing with his knowledge on each spot we visited - he provided us with historial and cultural information, and allowed us plenty of time to visit each individual spot, but still managed to pack in as much as we could within the day to maximise our time. There is no way we would have seen as many of the sights as we did in the same timeframe, if we had to navigate train/bus/foot transport ourselves, and wouldn't have received all of the great historical/cultural information along the way. Plus Kosuke is a great photographer! As a mum that is always behind the camera, and not in front of it with her family, Kosuke happily snapped so many great family shots for us. Would highly recommend as a must do whilst in Kyoto!
Ko is a fantastic tour guide, exceptional driver, and wonderful photographer. After averaging 8 to 10 miles of walking each day, having a private driving tour was very welcome. It was also incredibly efficient for accessing spots that take longer to reach when you have limited time: Komyo-in Temple, Sanjūsangendō Temple, Otagi Nenbutsu-ji, Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, Arashiyama Monkey Park. Ko showed us the best food vendors, great shopping streets, and even gave us a chance to feed koi in a quiet and peaceful setting. I highly recommend him for anyone who is visiting Kyoto.
Kosuke San was an excellent guide for our three days. Our family of 2 generations (in their 50s and late 70s) had differing interests and physical capabilities. Prior to our trip and during our tours he was prompt in his email and text communications. He was very flexible, patient and gentle in his interactions with us all, especially the older members. He helped us see our places of interest and suggested others which were very enjoyable. Kosuke always dropped us off and picked us up to minimise walking distances and steps. He stayed with the older members if they chose not to go farther. He had terrific general knowledge and insights beyond the sites visited. Kosuke was very friendly and spoke great English. He had tasty recommendations for meals. He is a capable and very safe driver. We would highly recommend Kosuke for any type of private tour for a more personalised experience in the Kyoto region.
We had a great time with Kosuke san in Kyoto. It's so convenient to have a guide with a van in this city since transportation is not as easy compared to Tokyo. We were able to hit all the highlights that we wanted to do in the region with just 2 days with him plus a day on our own. Since there's a lot to do, I do recommend doing some research ahead of time so that you know which locations you'd want him to take you to and which you can explore on your own.
Our family of 7 which included 2 seniors and a 6 year old had a wonderful time touring Kyoto in Kosuke's large van on Christmas eve. My initial email contact with Kosuke was in March and we emailed each other to make an itinerary. He was very helpful with suggestions since we kept changing our minds. We ended up with 4 sites/areas that we wanted to see. On the day of our tour, Kosuke doubled what we saw after we asked him to show us his recommendations! He was very flexible. When we didn't want to walk through the bamboo forest, he drove us to the end of the walk and he took some family photos of us in the forest. Then we hopped back into the van. A highlight was when he wanted to show us a river gorge. It, and the surrounding small town were beautiful! We had a fun, full day with time to eat and to shop! As others have said, Kosuke takes great family photos, and I used one of them for our New Years card. Thank you Kosuke!!
Our guide was fantastic—super friendly and spoke excellent English. Very knowledgeable about the area and shared lots of helpful tips throughout the tour. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Nothing was ever too much trouble
Kosuke was great. He was quickly responsive to emails. He’s kind and knowledgeable about Japanese history. We had a great day trip private tour in Kyoto.
An Unforgettable Kyoto Experience with Kosuke-san! We had the absolute pleasure of touring Kyoto with Kosuke-san, and he is truly the best guide you could ask for. Warm, responsive, and incredibly patient, he made our private July tour for nine people feel effortless, even in the sweltering heat and humidity! Kosuke-san's love for his city shines through in the countless fun facts he shared along the way, turning every stop into a deeper discovery. From famous landmarks to tucked-away treasures like Komyo-in Temple, he crafted an itinerary that balanced adventure and serenity, and cleverly helped us avoid the crowds too. One of the highlights was hiking up to Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine, where Kosuke-san not only joined us but captured Instagram-worthy photos with skill and enthusiasm. Thanks to him, our time in Kyoto was beyond memorable. If you're considering a tour, don’t hesitate, book with KSK Tours and let Kosuke-san show you the magic of Kyoto.
Great private tour of Kyoto. Kosuke did an amazing job of avoiding crowds. He took us to some unique places. Prompt communication at all times. Highly recommended!!
My family and I spent 2 days with Kosuke and he was very helpful in planning the attractions we would go for and was always on time when picking us up in the morning,he was very knowledgeable and could tell us lots of information and history about the places we went to . He also managed to put up with us even though we were very mischievous. He also took a lot of nice photos for us .We will definitely look forward to visit Osaka again . Written by the 3 mischievous kids
Kansai area must be seen with Kosuke San. He exhibits the region with pride and passion. He is from the region and provides a variety of options This is my second visit with him and this time, he took us from Osaka to the Kobe area. Various destinations that leaves us to want to visit more Kosuke San provides this tour with comfort, convenience and most importantly a friendly vibe. I will re-visit again soon and certainly only with Kosuke San!!!! Arigato!
We had the pleasure of touring with Kosuke on two separate days—one in Kyoto and another exploring Uji City and Nara—and both experiences were absolutely fantastic. Kosuke was a perfect match for our group, which included a wide age range (20s to 60s), and he made sure everyone felt included and engaged throughout the tours. Each day was thoughtfully planned, combining well-known tourist spots with hidden gems that gave us a deeper, more authentic feel for the region. Kosuke's knowledge of the history and culture of each location was impressive, and he shared it in a way that was both informative and easy to follow. He was incredibly patient, flexible with the pace, and always had great recommendations for things to see, do, and eat. A real highlight was the authentic lunch he arranged for us—delicious and unforgettable! We had such a great time with him that we tried to book him for an additional day, but he was already fully booked (a testament to how in-demand he is!). As a bonus, Kosuke also takes amazing photos, capturing moments we’ll cherish for years. If you’re looking for an experienced, personable guide who can tailor your itinerary to your interests, I can’t recommend Kosuke highly enough.
We were a party of 5 and this was my second tour with Kosuke-san. Kosuke-san picked us up at our Kyoto hotel in the morning and from there the entire day was stress-free, entertaining and incredibly informative, His English is excellent and knowledge about Kyoto and its people is far beyond any textbook as it is obvious this is his hometown that he is proud to share with visitors. We were quite comfortable with Kosuke's driving and the vehicle he drove while accommodating our demanding group. Even after one of our travelers asked for a Starbuck's, Kosuke-san took us to a historical part of Kyoto where the buildings were over 100 years old and in a special nook was a 2-story Starbucks. We visited the famed Fushimi Inari Shrine and Bamboo Forest of which I was impressed with Kosuke's tricks to work around the massive tourists using secret pathways and the right time of day. He even knew the best vendor to buy inari sushi from. We enjoyed the serenity at the Zen Buddhist garden/temple away from crowds, the temple with 1,000 statues and were amazed at his timing where many maiko were spotted on the quiet streets of Gion. Being that I traveled with shopaholics, he gave us some time at the Nishiki Market and am always impressed that when one of us could be lost, he knows exactly how to find us in a sea of people. I've never felt safer than when I know Kosuke-san is in charge. I highly recommend KSK Tours if you plan to visit Kyoto.
Kosuke was on time for pickup at our hotel for 6 adults. He was very friendly and professional. He adjusted our day tour to wherever we wanted to go. He was very informative for the areas we toured. His driving was very safe. We enjoyed our day with Kosuke. It was the best decision we could have made for our one day in Kyoto to see as much as possible. It was cheaper to hire him for the day then book individual tours for all the areas we visited in one day with Kosuke. We highly recommend Kosuke for tours in Kyoto
Kosuke took me and my family (5 people total) on such a wonderful van tour around Kyoto in May. He really helped us get the most out of this day especially since we had to navigate through the rain. We were able to see Fushimi Inari Shrine, Kinkaku-Ji, Sanjūsangen-dō, Nishiki Market, and several amazing tea shops in Uji. There is no way we’d be able to see all of that in one day (especially a rainy one!) without the knowledgeable expertise of Kosuke. Through each site we visited, he explained the cultural relevance of the location and provided us with interesting insight, all with the passion of a Kyoto native. My mom was dealing with a hip injury and Kosuke was thoughtful with making sure she could rest or take easier routes throughout the tour. My favorite part of the tour was going to Uji - which we learned is famous for their high quality green tea! This was not discussed as destination prior to the tour, but when Kosuke learned that we wanted to buy match and green tea, he suggested that we go to Uji and that was a perfect destination to go with a knowledgeable person like him! He brought us to a handful of shops that were specifically known for different types of tea and had us do some tastings as well. One tea shop we visited was from a 400 year old company! If you want to get the most out of your time in Kyoto, I highly recommend Kosuke.
Kosuke was recommended to me and he didn’t disappoint! He was punctual, friendly, knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make our day in Kyoto memorable. He tailored the day to what we wanted to see, including a stop at the famous Miffy Bakery! He is also a wonderful photographer so we got some great pics of our day! Highly recommend if you want a local to show you the sight of beautiful Kyoto!
Ko was nothing short of amazing. He was personable, kind, and knowledgeable about Kyoto. He is a native from Kyoto and was able to tell the history and significance of each place while giving a personal perspective also. My three young adult children felt this was our best day in Japan!! Ko was able to suggest places to visit, flexible to accommodate places we wanted to see and also able to help with shopping, photo opportunities and dining suggestions. He allowed us to see three times as much as we would have seen on our own, all with kindness and grace. I highly recommend Ko!!
Kosuke made our trip to Kyoto. His tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. He drove us all around Kyoto. We saw so much that we wouldn't have seen without him. He is kind and patient and very easygoing.
Kosuke was the most amazing guide! Friendly, professional and so knowledgeable about Japan and all of the places we visited. What we didn’t realise was that we were getting such an amazing photographer as well. He took so many wonderful photos of our family. He really was the perfect guide and I highly recommend booking him for your visit to Kyoto.
We had an amazing day with Kosuke as our guide! He was incredibly prompt and communicated with us throughout the day, ensuring everything went smoothly. Kosuke had fantastic recommendations and was very flexible, adjusting our itinerary to fit exactly what we wanted to do. I accidentally left my goshuin book in the car at one stop, and he immediately ran back to retrieve it, saving the day! His deep historical knowledge of each site we visited made the experience even more enriching, and he was a lot of fun to spend the day with. Highly recommend Kosuke – we'll definitely be booking him again on our next trip!
Our guide Ko was really fantastic. He was on time, his vehicle was clean and comfortable for our group of 9 and he was flexible in adjusting the tour to our preferences. Additionally, we struggled to come up with a question that Ko could not answer with confidence and detail. Overall, the experience was great, Ko is an excellent guide and our whole group loved our day with him.
Kosuke was an awesome driver and guide! He picked us up in his huge van (there were just 5 of us) at our hotel a little early. He took us to all the best tourist sites and also made a special stop at the Snoopy Chocolate shop for my daughter. His English was perfect and he explained all the history and traditions so We could learn. He took us to an awesome lunch at a family owned restaurant. He also made us a reservation at an amazing yakiniku restaurant we wouldn’t have been able to get into without his help. Highly recommend using Kosuke when visiting Kyoto.
I could not recommend Ko and his tour enough! He was very knowledgable about every location we went to, sociable and friendly, and super accommodating to our big family group. He even tailored the tour towards what our group wanted to see the most in Kyoto! If you're in Kyoto and want to experience the city like a local, there's no better place to go than with KSK-Tour!
Ko showed our two families a great time. As we started the tour, we changed plans a few times due to our families' interests, and Ko accommodated us very expertly. We traveled with him for two days, and we learned a lot!
We spent the day with Kosuke today and I am paying it forward. Kosuke was an amazing guide! We had one of our best days in Japan going to various places in Kyoto. Our tour was completely customizable and fluid. He took us to a zen garden not visited by tourists and we were the only ones there. It was so peaceful and beautiful. I mentioned to him how much I like seeing all hydrangeas and he made a quick stop at a garden full of them that is typically only visited by tourists. It was a highlight for sure! He has his own van and speaks English well. He took so many family photos of us. He knew exactly where to go, where we should stand, etc. He was full of interesting facts and knew a lot of history. My husband and I both agreed that we would recommend him to anyone coming to Kyoto.
Kosuke San is the best! He reached out on WhatsApp a few weeks before to confirm our booking and was flexible to our timings. He arrived in a very clean, comfortable vehicle with plenty of space for my family group of 6. His driving was safe, efficient, and we all slept between stops! He took us to temples, shrines (we didn't have a hitlist except for a few places) and told us the history and interesting facts there. When we went to Fushimi Inari, despite the slight crowd, he took photos for us which made it seem like we were the only ones there! We had many lovely photos thanks to Kosuke San that day. At the Nara Deer Park, he taught us how to feed the deers (they aren't shy!) and protected us when they became a little too greedy. He took us to a great lunch spot too. He was great with timing, told us how long we had at each place, and my parents kept mentioning how comfortable this method of exploring was :) All in all, thanks Kosuke San for such a wonderful day. We will definitely recommend you to anyone who asks! Arigato gozaimasu!
Our group of 7 was lucky to have the most awe inspiring tour of magical Kyoto guided by Ko. Kosuke communicated promptly and clearly during the booking process. Make sure you book well in advance as his tours fill up quickly. We would have gladly booked him for two days but he only had one available. What a wonderful time we all had! Ko safely and expertly drove us in his comfortable spacious Toyota van through many streets and back roads in Kyoto. As a native, he knows every back street, short cut, and traffic pattern. He knew just the amount of time to stay at every stop so we could cover all the beautiful sites we wanted to visit. We started the tour at the most peaceful Zen temple with a wonderful garden which was not on our list but was amongst our favorite. We were then able to visit Fushimi Inari, Kinkaku-Ji, Otagi Nenbutsu-ji, Arashiyama monkey park and bamboo forest, the breathtaking Sanjusangendo temple and a small local temple with beautiful cherry blossoms. Ko was kind enough to stay with my 81 y old mother while we hiked up the mountain to see the monkeys. Well worth the trek! When we returned, she was happily drinking some apple juice he had gotten her. For lunch, he suggested a delicious family run restaurant which we all enjoyed very much. He even booked for us a fun traditional shabu shabu restaurant in scenic Pontocho for later that evening. Thank you Ko for the most unforgettable tour of Kyoto! We all hope to return one day and will not hesitate to book another tour with you.
We enjoyed an excellent day with Kosuke as our personal tour guide. Kosuke communicated with me from the moment we made the initial enquiry via many emails. He gave lots of recommendations and was very accomodating to our needs. We only had one night in Kyoto and wanted to make the most of the time we had there to see as much as we could. I felt it was excellent value for money for the 5 of us. Kosuke was flexible with his pick up and drop off times and came exactly as planned, picking us up from our accomodation in the morning, taking our luggage for the day in his van while we sight saw, and dropping us at the end of the day at the Station. Not only did he take us to all the places we wanted to visit but he also explained so many details of the Japanese culture and customs that we never would have learnt about had it not been for Koh! With Koh we visited Kinkakuji temple (golden pavilion) - Bamboo forest - Monkey park - Nishiki market - Starbucks - Fushimi inari shrine. At each place Koh gave us a personal explanation for all the traditions and special places to shop and foods to eat! He even made sure my 14 year old daughter got to visit the special Starbucks with the tatami mats. He is also an excellent photographer and took many special photos of my family, ensuring we got great "profile pictures" for our social media. I could not recommend him enough. He was super friendly and we had a fantastic day! It also saved our legs from so much walking as Kyoto is much more spread out and bigger than we thought and we were worn out from our previous days of travelling around Osaka. Thanks Kosuke!
We had an amazing day in Kyoto with Kozuke. From the time he picked us up to the time he dropped us back to our ryokan, we felt so comfortable. Kyoto is Ko's home so he knows it like the back of his hand. We visited Fushimi Inari shrine, Zen Garden, Nishiki Market, Higashiyami District, Arashiyama bamboo forest and Iwatayana monkey park. Despite our itinerary, we did not feel rushed and Ko was very flexible. We highly recommend Ko as a guide and we have made a new friend.
Our 7-person family counted ourselves very lucky to have been able to book Kosuke and KSK Tour due to a cancellation in his pretty booked schedule. He is one of the best tour guides I’ve experienced! He was open to our interests and customized our experience based on them. He brought us to peaceful Buddhist temples off the beaten path so that we were able to really sense the beauty and awe of the places. Some of us love green tea, and though we didn’t have time to venture out to Uji, he brought us to a Temple that showed us how they prepared the tea and we sat in a room facing a beautiful garden to drink it. Even though everyone in the world was visiting Fushimi Inari-taisha shrine and the Arashiyama Bamboo grove at the same time, he navigated us and our father who walks with a cane, through areas where we could breathe and take pictures. We ate at a small intimate local sushi restaurant that was exactly what our dad wanted, and more! The way Kosuke shared the stories of each place piqued our curiosity and delight for what we were seeing. We found out he was available again for one more day before we leave, and booked him right away! Don’t hesitate to book KSK Tours. You’ll count yourself lucky too!
Kosuke was recommended to us by other visitors and I regularly saw him recommended on social media - so this was the tour I was looking forward to most on our trip. It was 100% amazing!!! Ko was a brilliant guide. We went to: Komyoin temple (zen garden) Fushimi inari shrine Nishki market - Lunch at Hiro Golden pavilion Arashiyama area for bamboo forest and Monkey park. He was 100% flexible and planned the sights around our family and interests. I cannot recommend this tour enough. Kosuke made the day fun and went above and beyond with recommendations for lunch, souvenirs, info on other tours, even offering to make a dinner reservation for us near our house. He accompanied us through every attraction, providing fun and interesting local facts and shortcuts to beat the crowds. He also took amazing photos always making it look like it was just our family at the attraction. Such a great day - honestly plan your trip around finding availability on Kosuke’s schedule like we did! It’s worth it. Thank you Ko for showing is around your beautiful city. Tracey, Jason and Family PS We hope you make it to Cairns, Australia one day soon.
Ko-san is a terrific guide and we had such an amazing time! Spending all his life driving around in Kyoto, he knows all the local treasures and hidden gems. We were travelling with my in-laws in their late 70s. We asked Ko-san to arrange a tour to visit places with shade (the temperature was in the high 90s on that day) and relatively short distance they have to walk. He took us to a couple of places outside of the city with beautiful bumboo forest, over 1200 sculptured budda gods and so on. They are all pretty close to each other and have plenty of shade. The best part of it is that they are less known and don't have as many tourists. The green tea Ramen place he took us to have lunch at was awesome! The taste of the noodle is quite unique compared to all the Ramen we had before. In the afternoon, he took us on a tour of green tea tasting and explained the different kind of tea popular in Japan and identified the best products of each of the shops we visited. At the end of the day, everybody had a great time and we've all learned something about Japanese culture. Throughout the tour, he's very engaging and patiently answering all our questions. My wife was learning Japanese and constantly asking him about how to pronounce various words in Japanese. He effectively gave her a lesson on Japanese during the entire tour. He's also very considerate and paid close attention to my in-laws' needs. We felt like he's taking good care of everybody and helping us make connections with the local culture and people. As a result, we had such a rich experience in one day. It's pretty amazing. If you are looking for a tour guide in the Kyoto, Kobe, Osaka and Nara area, we highly recommend Ko-san. He's a great guide with a passion for the local culture and people. We also feel that he's an honest person and a straight shooter. If you decide to hire him as your tour guide, make sure you book well ahead of time as he's becoming very popular and his time slots filled up very quickly.
We spent a day with Kosuke Hiratsuka, To say he is an excellent tour guide is an understatement. Kosuke picked us up at 9am and we first went to the bamboo forest. He took some wonderful pictures of our group. From there we visited an old tea house, Otagi Nenbutsu-Ji Temple of 1000 buddhas, and the Kinkaku temple(Golden Pavilion). We wished to have a sushi lunch at a local restaurant, that caters to locals, which he knew and recommended. The sushi was excellent ad we ordered A la carte. What a wonderful lunch. In afternoon we visited Sanjusangan-do temple of 1001 wood carved buddhas, a zen garden, and Fushimi inari shrine. Throughout the day Kosuke was an energetic, informative, jovial, and very accomodating guide. I highly recommend Kosake as your tour guide for Kyoto and the surrounding area.
Wanted a private day tour of Kyoto special places & the must see well known ones. English speaking guide Katsuke was very helpful in identifying places to visit & planning the day, & has excellent subject knowledge. Tour was thoroughly enjoyable & stimulating, he is highly recommended.
Kosuke is an amazing and talented tour guide! We highly recommend him for a customized tour of Kyoto. He was incredibly responsive over emails, picked us up at the train station, and showed us favorite locations for both locals and tourists. He was able to show us exactly what we wanted to see and was very helpful in sharing the history of Kyoto. He took lots of good photos for us. He knows the perfect photo spots and angles. He also had good restaurant recommendations for us. I left my sunglasses at the restaurant during our lunch. He made arrangement with the restaurant and was able to stop by on our way back and picked it up. Thank you once again, Kosuke san.
Kosuke-San is a special individual. His tour was really tailored to our interests and our desire to see a combination of quiet out-of-the-way places and the major sites of Kyoto. Not only is he knowledgeable and engaging, but as an owner-operator, one can truly see he has a deep love for Kyoto and for people and for what he does! We visited with our family of 5 in August 2023. Kosuke-San picked us up at the bullet train platform and he immediately got a sense of what we wanted to see and do. We especially appreciated the small and quiet places that had deep local and/or historical significance that few if any foreigners know of. There is no way we would have found many of these beautiful and meaningful places on our own. As enthusiasts of Japanese aesthetics and history, my family had simply an unparalleled experience. We also mentioned that we loved coffee and quirky coffee shops (he does too), and he took us to a lovely hole-in-the wall cafe run by an artisanal barrister. Lovely coffee - and my kids surprisingly had one of the best hand-made craft colas they (or my wife and I) have ever had. We liked it so much that we went there again by ourselves on another day! Would highly recommend KSK-Tours, and will be sure to book a day or more with him when we visit the Kansai region again. Thank you Kosuke-San for such a memorable experience.
We loved the tranquil temple, bamboo forest, delicious lunch and the town by the monkey park. Highly recommend Koshuke. He is chill and knows a lot about Kyoto.
We had Kosuke as our tour guide for a full-day in Kyoto last Saturday. I found him in my online research for the trip and his name kept popping up with excellent reviews by others so I booked him. I am so glad I did! There were five of us and he drove us around in his 9-passenger air-conditioned van. I have given him a few must-see sites to visit and trusted him to fill-in the rest of the time with his own suggested places. It worked out perfectly as we got to see places that the usual tourst wouldn't. Kosuke is a local native of Kyoto and knows his stuff. He is friendly, thoughtful and knowledgablel. And his English is excellent. He also used to be a taxi driver so his driving skills were incredible. We had such a good time with him and have now been enthusiastically recommending him to others. : )
Absolutely fantastic day- will recommend Ko to anyone going to see Kyoto! He knew how to get to the god photo spots quickly, gave history everywhere we went, drove us right to the place without long walks—and a really great guy to hang out with!
Absolutely amazing your. Kosuke was a great tour guide. Very informative and accommodating to our needs. 10/10. We were able to pick and choose where we wanted to go with a few recommended spots he showed us that were spectacular.
Kosuke was amazing, and he created an unforgettable day. He was incredibly responsive over email, picked us up at the train station, and showed us favorite locations for both locals and tourists. His driving skills are incredible, his picture taking skills amazing, and he is so thoughtful, generous and flexible to accommodate the needs of our family. We stopped at a beautiful zen garden where he explained so much history and knowledge to all of us, made a pit stop at his local favorite karaage chicken spot when he knew our 10 year old was hungry, took a detour to show us Sanjusangendo Temple, walked along famous streets, visited the Bamboo Forest, monkey park, and more before he dropped us off right in front of our hotel. Thank you, Kosuke San for a memory of a lifetime!
If you’re looking for a way to maximize your time in Kyoto, hire Kosuke! I can’t believe how much we saw in a day…and how grateful we were to give our sore feet a rest while he expertly drove us through the streets of Kyoto!! The day started with a pick up right in front of our hotel. We managed to see these sites: Komyoin Temple and Zen Garden (we were the only tourists), Fushimi Inari Shrine (thousands of red gates), Ninnenzaka shopping area, Sanjyusangendo (1000 statues), lunch at soba shop, bamboo forest and the monkey park! He takes fantastic pictures. We loved that the day was completely customizable. Thanks Kosuke for making it the best day of our trip!!
