Mami was excellent with her very 1st sushi class lesson
Mami did a great job teaching us how to make the different types of sushi 🍣 the optional sake tasting (upcharge) was great as well.
We were the only ones in this tiny little kitchen sitting at the counter facing the sink. It was super expensive for what you got and we were done in 30 minutes. Very very disappointed in our experience.
Good Sushi place. Open the whole which makes it easier for travelers.
Very nice instructor, was very patient and had a good explanation. Overall the experience was very fun and the sushi was very yummy.
This place is excellent. Our guide Ryu was super helpful and friendly. We got 12 pieces of sushi to eat and 6 different kinds. It was very fun to make it all and super yummy. Cannot recommend enough!
Super fun sushi making class. Our guide was friendly and fun.
Mami and Mimi (I hope I spelled those right) were so sweet. We did a sushi making class and Mami was very patient with our group participant that had limited finger control. Mimi gave quick and cheerful service. The fish was fresh and I learned about the “sushi dimple”. They opened recently (2026), so it was a little harder to find, but they are 100% worth checking out!!
Nanami was great very friendly understanding and provided a great and vibrant experience
I had a great time in the Sushi Class. Mina was wonderful and did a great job explaining the process and was overall great to talk with. Definitely the highlight of my trip. Would highly recommend the experience!
Came with 8 people and left with an amazing experience. We learned to make sushi (4 pieces) and nigiri (8 pieces), both were delicious. Definitely recommend.
Coming in, our group of four had varied comfortabilities with trying different types of sushi as well as preparing food. Our instructor, Mina, was incredibly accommodating and made each of us have a fun experience. My wife is not comfortable with certain types of raw fish, so instead, she prepared konjac alternatives. Mina’s demonstration was easy to follow and she were incredibly patient. Would recommend this to anybody interested in doing something fun and different in Japan, even with those who are not familiar with sushi-making!
The people are amazing who run the place and I had a fantastic time talking with everyone.
Really yummy sushi experience! We got 10 pieces of sushi and a free sake tasting was included too. Highly recommend 😋
We’ve tried to make sushi at home and never could quite get it right. Mihana did an amazing job teaching us tricks and tips to be super successful. Highly recommend the experience!
Great experience to do whilst staying in Kyoto. Guides were really friendly and made the class easy to understand for someone who has never made sushi before!
We had a private session since we were the only ones that booked. Eventhough there was a language barrier, the explanation was clear and fun. The result was delicious sushi. We had trouble finding it, so we will add some landmark picture to guide you there.
A fantastic experience with really friendly staff at the restaurant - well worth the money and would definitely recommend to anyone considering doing a sushi cooking class!
They were very helpful and fun!! You should do this experience! We sat at the bar and made sushi. They have all the equipment and know how. My teenagers loved it.
Great experience! Mihana our sushi teacher was very helpful and cheerful!
Great experience, delicious food and friendly staff.
Great instruction by Ryu and the sushi we made was delicious!! We got a flight of sake as well , nice atmosphere!
Had a wonderful time building our sushi! Ryu did a great job instructing us and we had great conversation too!
Incredible! People were lovely! The food was not to be missed.
The sushi was delicious and the staff was amazing!
Great experience in a nice sake bar in Kyoto. Yui was very kind and professional and explained each step with a lot of patience. Highly recommended.
The sushi Is delicious and Ryu gave us Great Service. He speaks English and German as well as Japanese. We walked in without a reservation but that may not be possible much longer as the place has only been open since March but it’s getting good reviews. Note: it was a little tough to find because the sign was in Japanese and you have to walk up a staircase to the second floor to get there.
We have been in Japan for 2 weeks now and really wanted to give it a go and try to make our own sushi. Where do you start? Klook has given us this as a recommendation and I have to say that these guys made it a lot of fun and we made our very own tasty sushi! The facility is really nice, the ambiance is also great and the staff is very friendly and invests in small talk to mae you feel confortable and enjoy the experience. Would definately recomment!
Great experience!.. Bit hard to find the location. Don’t go by the address that they send you but by the name of the business. Otherwise great experience and a nice meal, made by yourself!!
Very good experience ;-) You can now go back home and make your own sushis.
Great experience, our waiter had an excellent English level and was very friendly. Definitely recommend
Awesome choice for our family dinner! Nanami was helpful and fun. We enjoyed the lesson and the meal.
This was such a fun and cute class! A perfect way to end our time in Kyoto.
Great experience with the family!
Great experience, lovely staff and delicious sushi
Great experience on how to make sushi. Location was abit difficult to find. Google map took us around the building next to it.
The omakase experience was delicious.
Review: An Authentic Taste of Tradition in Kyoto I recently took a sushi-making class here in Kyoto, and it was a highlight of my time in Japan. Moving beyond the usual restaurant experience to actually learn the craft in such a historic setting was incredibly rewarding. The Highlights * The Kyoto Touch: The class emphasized the local appreciation for balance and seasonal ingredients. Learning about the history of sushi while surrounded by Kyoto’s traditional atmosphere made the experience feel deeply authentic. * Mastering the Shari: Our instructor walked us through the precise art of seasoning the rice. I learned that the temperature and the way you "cut" the vinegar into the rice are just as important as the fish itself. * Refining the Technique: Transitioning from Nigiri (hand-pressed) to Maki (rolled) sushi required more finesse than I expected. The instructor’s patient, hands-on guidance helped me master the "tuck and roll" with the bamboo mat and the delicate pressure needed to form the perfect nigiri base. * Market-Fresh Ingredients: We worked with exceptionally fresh, high-quality seafood. Learning how to slice the fish against the grain to enhance the texture was a skill I’ll definitely take home with me. Final Verdict If you are looking for an immersive cultural experience that goes deeper than a standard tourist activity, this class is a must. It’s a perfect way to spend an afternoon in Kyoto—you’ll leave with a full stomach, new skills, and a much deeper respect for the work of a sushi shokunin. Rating: 5/5 Stars 🍣
Ryuya our chef was great and taught us how to make great sushi.
It was great. Teaching us how to make sushi the right way.
This was a lovely experience. Our chefs were very personable and fun to talk to and our sushi was pretty when we were done so the directions were obviously good!
Our sushi master was Kaz and he did a great job showing us the basics of making sushi roll and nigiri. We got to make quite a bit and then feast on it! If you just want a quick, basic hands on experience, this is for you!
Fun experience with family!! Great quality ingredients and great teacher, thanks a lot!! Enjoyed eating the results too!!
Great experience with Ryuya teaching us the way of the sushi making. Class was fun and interactive. Definitely would come again
We had fun making sushi with Ryota who is very kind person. We need more practice :)
