Kyoto:exclusive Geisha(maiko) Show With Dinner, Games & Open Bar

So much more than expected...starting with the food, more and much better than anticipated. Plus groups pours from open bar. Maiko Fuku-ji (I think) was a marvel of gracious intelligence. And the interpreter was a delight.

We really enjoyed this and I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a unique and insightful look into the Geisha world. It's worth being aware of what you're signing up for. It's a dinner with a few other couples, drinks, a couple of short dances performed, and a game. Like I said, we really enjoyed it. The dances were interesting and talking to the Geisha about her job, life and history of Geisha was interesting and fun. Our guide /translator was also great. Food was enjoyable. We'd have valued a few minutes at the beginning for the guide to briefly introduce the history of Geisha. They take for granted you know at least a little. That didn't take away from the night at all though and I think for someone interested in culture this was a good way to spend an evening and enjoy dinner.

This was an absolutely brilliant experience! We were sat at a table with two other couples and a mother and son so it was a fairly intimate dinner and there was plenty of scope for talking with the geiko, who was very charming and knowledgeable. The dances were wonderful, very beautiful to watch. Dinner was delicious as well, particularly the chicken, and the service was remarkably attentive - I don't think anyone had an empty glass for more than a moment! I should also give a shout out to the host and translator; she did an excellent job of making everyone welcome and keeping conversation flowing.

Absolutely fantastic, once-in-a-lifetime, intimate experience of a kaiseki dinner along with music, dancing, games, conversation and photo opportunities with a training Geisha (Maiko). The food was delicious and open bar was available. However, the highlight was definitely the Maiko experience. We saw traditional dancing and spent a lot of time asking questions and learning about the mysterious world of Geisha. Only 9 people were in attendance which made the experience quite intimate and private. Lots of opportunities to take pictures with the Maiko at the end. If you're looking for a unique, traditional Japanese experience while in Kyoto, definitely check this out!

It’s a fantastic 2-hour experience and a highlight of our trip in Kyoto. We watched the performance of the Geisha and played game with her. It’s our privilege to have conversation with the Geisha and she was delighted to answer all our questions. We enjoyed every moment of the encounter with the Geisha. Many thanks for our English translator who has made the communication possible.

Amazing experience to meet a Maiko (Fukuyumi was great), watch the dances, understand the culture by getting to ask all the questions we wanted, and have some great food and drinks with it. Would recommend for anyone interested in Japanese culture

It was our first time visiting Japan and experiencing the culture, and it was such an interesting experience learning about the Maiko and Geisha culture. She was so young, cheerful, and full of laughter. We had so much fun playing games with her! The staff were also very welcoming and friendly.

An absolutely incredible experience I had with the Geishan at this experience! It is such an intimate experience as you get to eat dinner with the Geishan, play a game with them, and hear them play music and dance! You are also provided a delicious style dinner and unlimited drinks. It is an extremely fun night and one I would highly recommend experiencing when visiting Kyoto. On my night It was just me and 4 other guests which made the experience very intimate and got to know everyone that evening. If you are looking for a cultural experience I would highly recommend joining.

This was an incredible experience. The setting was gorgeous, the meal was absolutely delicious! However, the true highlight was the Maiko dance and the opportunity to speak directly with her and ask questions. I was able to get so many unique insights into the life of geisha and Maiko. We were also treated to a beautiful dance performance by the Maiko. Truly one of the best experiences we had in Kyoto. There are other options to see geisha and Maiko but this is far more intimate and worth ever my penny

It was so amazing! We saw 2 dance performances, took pictures, asked so many questions, played a game and had a delicious meal with the Maiko. She gave us a special present to remember her by and we had a great time. The staff was very kind and also translated all the questions and answers we had for us. I don’t think I’ll ever have another experience like this! I feel blessed to have been able to come!

When in Kyoto, seeing a Maiko and Geiko up close is one of the experiences you must do. In this experience, I was able to see them perform live, and what's more interesting about this day is talking with them face to face, I learned more about their lives as Maiko and Geiko. I also had the chance to play with them on the stage! The experience was done with an English translator and she did a really great job!

This was one of the most special moments in Japan. I had the rare chance to meet real maiko and geisha in a quiet and private setting, something most people never get to experience. From the moment I arrived, everything felt calm and welcoming. I enjoyed a beautiful and delicious kaiseki meal while watching them perform a traditional dance. Later, we talked, played the Konpira Fune Fune game together, and even took photos. They were so kind and graceful, and I felt truly lucky to be there. When I booked, I expected to dine to the sound of a shamisen player and attend a performance by two geishas/maikos. While the meal was decent, the rest was disappointing. Only one maiko arrived after dinner and performed two dances to a backing track. Being alone, she split her time between two tables with 7 to 8 guests each. The performance ended with the traditional Kompira fune fune game. In short, very disappointing.

It was without a doubt the best experience in all of Japan. Meeting an authentic maiko in person and being able to talk to her, watch her perform, and play with her is a unique experience that we will never forget.

I reserved this dinner for my birthday, and it was the most memorable experience in Japan. The food and drinks were great, but the highlight was the time spent talking with Maiko, being able to understand about her choices and about the culture of the Geisha. The translation was great too. An unforgettable night, I highly recommend it.

The experience is very beautiful, the dance is very elegant, and the service is very good; the food is very traditional, so keep in mind that you will eat duck, tofu, and raw fish, which is very delicious but depends on your tastes. What I liked most was the conversation with the Geisha; she is very kind and smiling and answered all our questions, and the game was very fun; I highly recommend it as an important cultural part of Kyoto.

We came to the geiko experience without any expectations and honestly we had a very good time. Everything is very well organized, the show starts on time, the dances are very artistic, the conversation is extremely interesting, and the hostess makes an effort to ensure we have an incredible time. Everything is very well planned, a highly recommended experience to get closer to this very important traditional element of Japanese culture.

It was a valuable experience because we had a small group of people and we could talk slowly with popular maiko and geisha-in-law. I recommend it. I want to participate again.

It was wonderful to see them dancing and performing on stage. It was fun to play tatami room and talk with maiko and time passed so quickly. It looks like a lot of maiko are coming, so I want to participate again.

The dance and performance on the Noh stage impressed me the most. They explained in detail about the costumes, such as kimonos and hair ornaments, how to make up, etc., and I was able to learn more about maiko and geisha. We also talked with maiko and played "konpira boat" in ozashiki and had a good time with sake.
