Kyoto: Nishiki Market Food Tour-7 Tastings

It was a fun morning starting the tour at 10am before the crowds arrived at the Nishiki Market. We skipped breakfast for the occasion. We had a small group of 7 people with our guide Kosuke. We had 7 different food items, generous portions, nice variety. We were satisfied as were our stomachs at the end of the tour. We also saw some interesting shops to go back to. There were also some off tour samples to try. Kosuke speaks English well and told us interesting stories about food and other things along the way. I highly recommend this tour if you want to eat Japanese food, like variety, and are just a little bit adventurous.

Kazuma was very knowledgeable and patient with all our questions and needs. It was a great tour and I highly recommend it.

Our guide was Kosuke. He contacted my husband the day before to confirm the guided food tour. He was at the specified meeting place before was arrived. We walked to the nearby food market. He patiently walked through the food market giving us choices at the various food shops. We stopped at 7 shops to sample Kyoto and general Japanese cuisine. We also had the opportunity to sample from free samples offered by the shops. Overall, we had a great time and left full.

The Nishiki market is amazing and huge. Kosuke showed us the best food and was knowledgeable and fun! Would definitely recommend.

Such a wonderful tour, our guide Nobu was full of interesting information and was so patient! There was a group of 8 of us and he showed us around some historical alleys before taking on the food tour. The food was absolutely delicious.

Satoru was an excellent guide. He gave us a good additional explanation of some cultural topic when we walked to the main entrance of the tou.

Yasuko gets 10 out of 10 . She was absolutely awesome!!! I travel a lot and have had many guided tours. She rocks. I was a bit nervous finding my train station so sh even walked me there. We learnt lots about a Japanese culture and history as well as the fun of going thru the market. And a wide variety of tastings. I highly recommend this tour.

Great way to learn about the food and culture of Japan...7 unique food tastings that were tailored to my 'picky' food tastes...each unique and delicious. My guide, Kazuma was fabulous and took time to explain the different foods.

Wonderful food and history tour through Kyoto. We were lucky to be alone so had the guide all to ourselves. We tasted so many great things, our guide listened to what we were interested in trying and we learnt so much. Such a difference to have a guide, I would not hesitate to recommend!
