We visit Honenin Temple, a quiet spot in Higashiyama that feels far from the busy sightseeing routes. We approach through local streets and hidden alleys, and take time to enjoy the stillness and the simple beauty of the temple grounds.
We stop at Nanzenji Temple, one of Kyoto’s most famous temple areas, known for its grand gate and spacious grounds. We take time to enjoy the atmosphere and capture photos, then continue the ride while adjusting your route to match the day’s crowd levels.
We finish at Heian Shrine, a striking landmark with a wide approach and an impressive vermilion gate. It is a great place for photos and a clear “Kyoto moment” to close the ride before heading back.

We did the 4 hour bike tour from 1-5pm and it was beyond epic. We saw so much of the city and a few beautiful temples and our tour guide Kei was the kindest/best we could’ve asked for. Truly 12/10 recommend this tour.

This was a fun way to experience Kyoto and visit multiple shrines and temples and off the beaten path sites. The e-bike riding was leisurely, some in traffic and some on pathways. This is a good option for families and people who are active. Our guide, Kei, was very informative, attentive and made for a great time. Highly recommend!

It was a lovely tour of less-known shrines and temples while riding through beautiful neighborhoods in Kyoto, plus a stop at the river. Our guide Kei was very thoughtful and knowledgeable, and took care to make sure it was a great experience from start to finish!
Kai was a wonderful guide and I enjoyed the tour so much. It felt so free to just cycle around the city and feel the freeze on the e-bike. The tour included beautiful spots in Kyoto and it was refreshing.

Kei was amazing!! He took us all around the city, and we stopped at the most beautiful spots. We saw shrines and temples and the sleeping rocks along with charming neighborhoods and river side areas. We would not have seen any of this without him. He was so professional and friendly and also did agood job keeping us safe and letting us relax while we biked through the city. He’s so friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this tour. It was one of best days in Kyoto. Please take this tour if you want to see a lot and enjoy bike riding. It’s gentle writing so you don’t have to worry about steep Hills or anything like that. It’s fantastic. You will not regret it Thank you Kei!!

This was a great experience! Kenta was an amazing guide and very knowledgeable! His English was excellent and he explained all about the temples and shrines we visited, as well as answering our questions about Japanese culture and life. He is a bright young man in college and a joy to talk to. Riding around the city was a great introduction to the city, which is so nice. We also enjoyed biking along the river and seeing where locals hang out. Just an excellent experience and I wouldn’t hesitate it recommend the excursion and Kenta.
Kenta was so fantastic!! he explained the difference between shrines and temples, showed us the proper way to enter both, really spent time explaining and answering all our questions! I would highly recommend this tour, it was the perfect way to start exploring Kyoto. 10/10!!
I had an excellent experience with the guide, Nayomi. She was knowledgeable and warm. She took pictures and stopped for breaks throughout the ride. We visited two shrines and two temples plus cycle next to the river overall a very memorable experience.

I would highly reccomend this bike tour. 4 hrs is a good amount of time to explore Kyoto by bike. We felt safe while riding on the roads and back streets with our 10yo child. Traffic was not an issue in the morning. You are able to take in the significant cultural sights as well as see the everyday Kyoto. The guide was informative, thoughtful and kind. Answering any questions, allowing and facilitating for photo opportunities and making ensuring the groups needs were all met.
A great way to see the quieter side of Kyoto and some beautiful shrines, temples and gardens Ki was an amazing host E-bikes were easy to ride We took teenagers - not for small kids you are riding on busy roads until you get out to the quieter part
I did this tour with my friends and Kei was the tour guide, he was extremely knowledgable about the temples and culture, and took us to some great spots that we would have otherwise never been! He even gave us some gifts to take such as water, and some Polaroids! I highly recommend this tour and Kei as a tour guide!

We had a great time biking around Kyoto with our guide Kei. It was a highlight of our Japan vaction. You just see more with a guide. In this case not the tourist packed shrines and temples but the quiet places and local streets of Kyoto, really nice and highly recommended!

Kei did a great job showing us the lesser famous parts, but no lesser beautifull. With clear explenations, and eagerness to answer questions. Besides that he made sure we staid safe in traffic, helped us with the traditions/religions and made awesome pictures of/for us. Alltogether worth the trip and a great way to get to know Kyoto!
