Kyoto: Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, Monkey Park & Temple Tour

The experience was great, we got to know a lot about history, and sai was very patient and easy going, he is very fun as well

William did a great job. He was fluent in English and easy to understand. I do wish he would have slowed down just a bit though. I’d stop for a picture then have to run to catch u to the group. Overall great experience!

Masa was an excellent tour guide. My wife and I very much he enjoyed our time in this tour. Masa was very informative and kept the tour at a good pace.

Sai was a wonderful guide for our Arashiyama tour. We visited the Monkey Park, a Shinto shrine, and a Buddhist temple, and he shared so much history along the way that each stop felt meaningful. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and easy to follow. I highly recommend this tour and Sai.

Visited the Tenryu-ji Temple then walked through the bamboo forest. Afterwards we stopped for matcha ice cream and then went to the monkey farm for a wonderful view of the city of Kyoto and a view of Japanese monkeys. The guide gave great background for all of the places we visited.

Great tour of beautiful temples, a bamboo forest and a monkey park. Gayatri was very knowledgeable. I'd recommend leaving the tastings to the end in case some would like to opt out. They took a long time and felt a bit unnecessary.

Sai was our guide today and he was great - very knowledgeable about the shrines and temples. Meeting point was conveniently located and the stop for a break and matcha was a nice treat. The hike/walk up to see the popular monkeys was quite a trek for us seniors but it was so worth it see so many monkeys close up. I highly recommend this tour.

Super fun adventure seeing the temple and hiking to the monkeys. Warning-a hit if a steep climb, especially for those with mobility difficulties. Seb our guide was funny, knowledgeable and did a great job all around. We highly recommend this tour!

An interesting mixed agenda - well presented by a very well informed guide ( Gabrielle formally from Lithuania). Temples, bamboo walk and a visit to greet the monkeys were well worth the visit.

Such a lovely host in Nikki, very helpful, knowledgeable young man he deserves commendation for his diligence. The Temple was excellent with many interesting facts and history. Loved the bamboo forest and again unfortunately couldn't manage the climb to the monkeys due to health reasons.

It was ok not as good as we thought. The monkey park disappointed you walk up the steep hill 20min incline and get there and they are all off limits no interaction. It’s like a zoo. Not worth it the only good thing was the view

Lydia was such a thoughtful and informative tour guide! We enjoyed the casual pace of the tour and all the history she was able to provide us through tour. All inclusive pricing was nice and it was a small group which made it easy to stay together and have enough time at each site. She took photos for everyone and watched our bags while we visited the monkeys which is helpful! 10/10 and would recommend this tour!!

We loved this tour! The gardens were beautiful and had interesting history, the bamboo forest was so peaceful, and the shrine was being prepared for the new priestess ceremony which was fascinating. We absolutely loved the monkey forest - what an awesome tour & opportunity! Katherine was fantastic and did such a great job with all the questions, navigating unique opportunities for us, and even taking photos for all of us. Would highly recommend!

Alex and Malu were terrific guides! Saw lots of monkeys, some deer and even a snake eating a frog. Lovely tour. Wear light clothes it’s a bit of a trek!

An excellent trip to Arashiyama, visiting the beautiful bamboo grove, the monkey park, and the temples. Khan was a fantastic guide, incredibly knowledgeable and with a great personality, which made the experience even more enjoyable. A brilliant time and finished perfectly in time for lunch — highly recommended!

Jack was a great guide who taught us about the history of the places we visited but also allowed us to explore on our own. The sites were incredible even though crowded. Highly recommended everything was spaced perfectly, each site and the matcha break.

It was a great day. There is lots of walking, but it was all so worth it. The little town is so quaint, the bamboo forest was beautiful and the monkeys, once we hiked up to see them, were so cute! We really enjoyed this tour! The views at the bamboo forest and the monkey park were absolutely beautiful and worth the trip. Our guide, Meh, gave us very nice, interesting explanations and background information throughout the day, which added a lot to the experience. The overall structure of the tour felt a bit average or "meh" at times, and we spent a while visiting commercial stores. However, the excellent sights and the guide's great knowledge made it a very good experience overall. Highly recommended for the views and the insights
