Learn & Create: You will hand-craft 3 different types of Wagashi (The menu changes according to the season)by yourself or with your partner. Our instructors will demonstrate each step clearly before you start. Taste & Enjoy: After cooking, sit down with fellow participants to enjoy your handmade sweets alongside a fresh cup of ceremonial Matcha tea, all while taking in the beautiful garden view. Very nice and delicious sweet cooking experience with Miho. I really recommend
Miho san was a great guide! Apparently I was the only one that booked today so we spoke in Japanese (as I'm practicing my Japanese on this trip) and it was great! I had a lot of fun and enjoyed making the sweets and also seeing the techniques used to make them and the little nuances you don't really find on online recipes. The sweets were also so tasty, I could eat them every day and I'll keep loving them. I recommend this experience to anyone who likes japanese sweets and also to anyone who would like to learn how to make them.
Best mochi class. Our family had an amazing experience. The selection of mochi we made was incredible. Definitely a must do while in Kyoto.
This was a wonderful fun family activity! We were a bit late and our hostess was kind enough to still let us participate. She had us sit and relax with cold water after we have been running and stressed about making it!
We were running late and she took the whole family in to do the class. She didn’t rush even though we ran late getting to the class. The process was fun and easy. Everyone enjoyed themselves and had a different favorite dessert.
My family of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids (ages 6 and 11) had a wonderful time making Japanese desserts with Mihoko. She was so kind and patient with my kids as we made 3 summer desserts together! An absolute highlight of our time in Kyoto and highly recommend this fun, hands on and immersive experience! Thank you for our time together.
Very nice experience in the company of Miho, very welcoming. She gives us all her secrets to making Japanese desserts including the famous Mochi. Everything was very good, if you want to learn the secrets of the recipes of these pastries, I recommend that you book a course at Miho. Merci 😊
Great experience! We created 3 traditional treats and they were super easy and delicious. People of all ages will enjoy this class and tje desserts.
We had a wonderful time cooking with Mihoko. My daughter is 10 and Mihoko was very patient and kind with her. The food we made was delicious and we were able to eat it in her lovely house.
We had such a wonderful time with Mihoko. The class was perfectly paced, and the personal touches were lovely (tea, matcha, conversation about life in Japan). Would highly recommend this experience to anyone who likes to cook and is looking for something special to do with time in Kyoto!
Great teacher and the ingredients are perfect.
My son and I attended this class this morning and had a great time. Mihoko was a great teacher and very sweet. We made three different desserts: ice cream mochi, dango, and taiyaki. We were also given tea and got to enjoy it and our sweets in a beautiful Japanese style room looking out onto a cute garden. I’d love to taue the class again next time I’m in Kyoto. Mihoko changes up the deserts by season. Her English was also very good which made following instructions easy.
Amazing and unique experience in Kyoto that I will never forget. The host was amazing!
A very meaningful experience, I learned a lot, courteous, pleasant, professional and very homely service. I enjoyed every moment and will definitely come again!
This was such a lovely and personalized experience! Miho was incredibly knowledgeable, great with the kids and wonderful to get to know. She accommodated our gluten-free needs so that I would be able to enjoy every item we prepared. I would recommend this experience to anyone who wants an authentic and low-key cultural experience. We loved it! Thank you, Miho!!!
We had a great time at this cooking class with Miho. Her studio was easy enough to find, space is nice and clean. Had one of my favorite bites of the trip with one of the desserts with black sesame, I had never had it before and now obsessed. We enjoyed our learning and eating from this experience. Thanks Miho!
What a fun dessert cooking experience. Miho is so kind and sweet but most importantly, shes a wonderful chef and teacher! Whenever we struggled, she provides clear instructions to overcome our own challenges. The best part - the desserts are so DELICIOUS! Very happy with this experience. What a fantastic way to end a vacation! Thank you Miho! The mochi we made was one of the best bites we had in Japan!
This was an excellent experience. Miho is a delightfully friendly and knowledgeable host. The desserts we made were delicious. We will definitely be coming back next time to take her other cooking class.
My wife Katie and I had an awesome time making sweets. Have not had an experience like this before. Highly recommend Miho, she is knowledgeable, super friendly and a delight to be around. Will do this again on our next trip for sure!!
Miho is very kind, thoughtful and generous ☺️ really recommended activities if you go to kyoto. You can explore the urban village if you go there
Amazing job with young children, we learned so much and she was so sweet to teach us all the techniques and really encouraged the kids to practice their math skills as we baked
Run out of a cozy house near Fushimi Inari. We went right after going there. Miho is so friendly. She made sure everyone equally contributed and kept the conversation lively. She’s very knowledgeable and taught us all about different traditional treats. She even sent us the recipes so we can try and make it at home after. Recommend for anyone wanting to try Japanese sweets !
What an absolutely wonderful experience! Miho welcomed us into her home with such warmth and genuine hospitality that we felt like family from the moment we arrived! We learned to make three different types of traditional wagashi, and Miho was an incredibly patient and friendly teacher. She guided us through each step with such care, sharing the history and significance behind each sweet. The techniques were authentic and fascinating to learn. The homemade matcha tea she served was the perfect complement to our handmade sweets. There’s something truly special about enjoying your creations in such an authentic setting. Our 7-year-old absolutely loved every minute of the experience and was completely engaged during the class! Highly recommend for families, or anyone wanting to experience authentic Japanese hospitality and learn traditional skills!
All of the food was delicious and Mihoko made sure that the cooking process itself was fun and easy! Would recommend to others interested in sweets!
Being able to cook the food and then eat it was such an amazing experience! Mihoko was such an amazing teacher and was so welcoming. She made it such a good time and I would recommend for everyone!
Mihoko and this class were amazing! Such a great welcoming experience and delicious sweets. Would recommend to anyone visiting Kyoto!
What a treat this was in the heat and crowds of Kyoto. Miho is an engaging and patient teacher who ensured our children had plenty of opportunity for hands-on experience. She even made us matcha and explained how and when to enjoy it. We really enjoyed this experience and highly recommend Miho’s class.
Miho was a delight from beginning to end! My daughter and I had so much fun at this wagashi cooking class. She was very patient and kind and we made three delicious desserts. She also gave my daughter a little gift! Our desserts turned out quite nice (looked almost like the picture!) and were a nice cool treat in the heat. Would recommend and I want to come back with the rest of my kids!
Best experience in Kyoto! Miho was incredibly warm and welcoming. She led a very well organized cooking class in a traditional Japanese home, answering all our questions with so much patience! Most impressively, she was so nice in including our young kids who are 6 and 9. I highly recommend doing this when you’re in Kyoto!
I'm a 9 year old girl who lives in New Jersey. What do I know about cooking? To put that aside, our host Miho, was incredibly kind and made us feel at home. She made it easy and fun.I loved the experience and hope to go back soon!
Miho was so kind and patient. My young kids were all over the place but she worked well with them. The desserts were fun to make and tasty to eat. Her place is a bit further so plan a taxi ride over.
Lovely chef, great recipes, tasty food, easy to follow great execution of the content, in other words fab if you have the time go for it. ദ്ദി ˉ͈̀꒳ˉ͈́ )✧
So much fun with my whole family. We laughed the whole time and made delicious food and memories. The hosts were perfect, spoke excellent English and were very welcoming.
Wonderful experience where all of mum's cooking went wrong and the teenagers had great results. Lots of laughing, learning, and eating. Perfect host.
The experience was incredible. The host extremely kind and the food was delicious. She was very patient and went though all the steps at a perfect speed.
It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. It started with a warm welcome. Followed by an introduction to what we would be making. During the cooking process she was helpful every step of the way. After came the fun part of enjoying our freshly made desserts. I would highly recommend this.
This was absolutely amazing, a highlight of my Kyoto trip for sure. The host, Miho, was incredibly personable and kind, made me feel welcome. She knows what she’s doing and explained how to make the sweets in an easy-to-follow way. If you’re at all interested in Japanese cooking, I’d say check out one of Miho’s classes and you will not be disappointed. Can’t recommend highly enough.
Had a lovely afternoon making 3 types of wagashi with Miho. It was interesting to see the different processes and techniques involved. The whole session was very relaxed and had some delicious wagashi at the end. Would definitely recommend it.
We had the best experience making sweets with Miho. She ran such a well organized class and the treats were delicious. Highly recommend!
This Wagashi (Japanese Sweets) cooking class with Miho was the best activity for my 12 year old son and I to do together, especially when it is miserably hot outside and sightseeing is just not so fun to do, this was the perfect place to be. Miho is very sweet and a wonderful instructor and is so welcoming into her home. Eating the treats we made at the end of the class was perfect, and she gave us matcha tea which we made ourselves as well!
The sweets class was very fun and informative. My 9 year old son and I enjoyed our time with Miho, she’s an excellent instructor. We learned about different ingredients and techniques- and Miho gave us great recommendations for kid activities around Kyoto.
We had a great time with Miho making some amazing Japanese sweets. It was a very ‘sweet’ afternoon! Arigatou gozaimasu!
As a family we had a great time. I would recommend to any group in Kyoto as something interesting and fun off the usual beaten track. The family all enjoyed it so much and so did I !
Our family had such a fun experience making Japanese sweets! Miho is so welcoming and patient and the sweets were delicious! It was a highlight of our trip.
What a fantastic experience! Miho-San is a wonderfully warm and welcoming host, and the house where we cooked was gorgeous, with traditional tatami mats and a room overlooking a beautiful small garden. Miho was well organised and very encouraging of me and my almost 8 year old, who raved about our time there. One of our favourite memories! Plus we can make mochi ice cream at home now. Really glad we included this on our trip.
Fun afternoon learning to make Japanese treats! Also a neat peek into a beautiful home. Teacher was so sweet and helpful to our 9 and 12 year old daughters. They loved the experience!
Miho was such a great host. We had such a unique experience making Japanese desserts. She was very patient and kind. She was very prepared and helped our children. We got to eat the fruits of our labor in a traditional Japanese room with a small garden outside. We made so much that we even had leftovers for later!
We had a wonderful experience making Wagashi with Miho. My children really enjoy the making and of course the eating of the sweets. Thank you Miho.
This was an incredible experience that I will recommend to anyone traveling to Osaka/Kyoto. Miho was an excellent host, teacher, and now friend! This was my #1 favorite experience in Japan
