So much fun finally performing the art of Kintsugi ❤️ Taylor was a great instructor and shared the custom with us! Would highly recommend!
Ali was a great guide of this experience and we loved the workshop. Our pieces turned out pretty.
The staff were wonderful! Taylor provided excellent instructions and some historical insight into the art of kintsugi. Ali was a lifesaver and kept our baby occupied while we worked on our pieces. Absolutely recommend for those who are crafty or want a unique souvenir to commemorate their trip to Japan!
Meri was a great instructor and it was a fun class to experience traditional Japanese Kintsugi. They give extra packaging for your plates since it takes 7 days to complete dry
Very fun and memorable experience, Meri was very friendly and informative with our experience, would recommend!
Fantastic experience, thanks to Alice for the clear explanations and historical anecdotes on the origins of kintsugi!
It was an incredible experience with a cheery guide and friendly environment! It wasn’t rushed and everything was explained and fully interactive with loads of creative freedom if wanted. An amazing place and would definitely recommend!
Stephaine was great. A great first time experience
It was interesting and fun to learn the history.
Really had a great time with Cerise. She was knowledgeable about the process and explained each step thoroughly. She knew quite about the true Kintsugi art which was a bonus. Best part? She inspects each plate thoroughly after each step and gives thoughtful feedback.
Such a beautiful experience! Making the imperfect beautiful! Mabia was so friendly and it was an absolute delight to be taught by her! Highly recommend !
Very nice experience. Our instructor Stephanie was very kind and helpful, we managed to make beautiful plates to take home 💖
Had a lovely morning doing Kintsugi with Roman who was knowledgeable and a great instructor. Really beautiful way to spend a morning in Kyoto. Highly recommend!

Katie was fantastic and full of energy and knowledge! Fun experience and perfect rainy day activity.
It’s a great experience and the product turn out so cute. Katie has been really helpful and guide me through the whole process. Highly recommended
We had a fun time, repairing and decorating our pottery at the Kinstugi workshop. Our instructor was very helpful and patient with all of us, guiding us throughout. The only thing we would have liked a bit more of, would be the some more information on the background of Kinstugi and how it has become part of the Japanese culture (we got some of it after we asked the instructor). Overall, it was a great activity for the whole family!
Fun way to spend 60-90 minutes. It’s not difficult and you will need to pay extra for an attractive plate as the included one is a very small and simple white one. Allow additional $10-$20
We had a fantastic time in this traditional Kintsugi workshop. Learning the method and the history behind the artform was engaging and intriguing. This can be credited to Thunder, who was a great host/ teacher and storyteller. Would definitely recommend giving this a go, plenty of time allocated and there is great selection of plates and bowls to chose from, and best of all you get to take a souvenir home which you had a hand in creating.
I would recommend this to everyone who wants a pleasant cultural experience. Our guide, Yuki spoke perfect English! So funny, so polite and easy to understand.
Loved the experience. Great discussion and explanations. A really fun time.
Arata was a very informative teacher and it was so interesting to learn the history behind Kintsugi. Would 100% recommend.
A wonderful, peaceful and calming experience. Mabia took us through the course, step by step, showing patience and punctuating each phases with cultural insight on the history and art of kintsugi. Definitely value for money. We spent a good 70-80min there and we are now leaving with beautiful piece of art and lovely memories of something we crafted together.
Amazing experience. Very cathartic
Natalia was great and we loved the workshop! It was really interesting to hear about the history and we had plenty of time to work at our own pace. It wasn’t immediately obvious where the entrance was but the locals were all really helpful.
Meri was an excellent instructor and explained the steps clearly. Would recommend!
Absolute gem of a workshop. Meri was an incredible instructor — clear, patient, and genuinely passionate about kintsugi’s philosophy of turning cracks into gold. She walked us through every step so even complete beginners felt confident, and the studio near Gion was calm and welcoming. Leaving with a finished piece we repaired ourselves felt special in a way sightseeing never does. If you’re in Kyoto and want something hands-on and meaningful, book this and hope you get Meri.
The environment was good. Instructions & historical explanation concise & well paced. All the materials were provided & v easy to use. Katie was a lovely teacher. They also packed our finished ware so well. It survived road & flight trips. Thank you for this experience.
I enjoyed this class so much! Taylor was a patient teacher.
It was a great experience! Meri was patient, kind, and explained the history of kintsugi as we worked and the plate turned out beautifully.
It was a wonderful experience and we had a wonderful instructor that gave a great history of kintsugi and was a great help throughout the workshop. Highly recommend.

Super fun! Easy to understand and follow, and lovely to watch the broken dish come together in your hands. :) Arata was a great guide!
Sabbie was a wonderful help. It was a fun and engaging experience.
A simple and fun class taught by english speakers using pre-broken dish. Our instructor was from Bangladesh studying in Japan for her graduate degree in business. Mabia was very thorough, patient, and thoughtful.
Great time learning a great art. Very fun and rewarding. The instructor Leyla is patient and helpful.
GUI was a patient teacher. Fabulous to learn this in English. Craftsmanship and repair as a metaphor for life aw well as being a meditative practice!
This was an extremely fun course to do. The course took about 90 minutes, and the instructor, Yuhi, included a brief history of the origin and process of Kintsugi. The atmosphere was very relaxed, and the workstations were very clean and well prepared. I would recommend this activity for anyone who would like a very unique souvenir that you make yourself!
Fun way to learn about about the culture and our instructor Cersie was great at helping us along the way. A very meaningful souvenir as a bonus!
We loved this short class! It only took an hour, we learned a neat way to fix broken dishes, and out instructor Ali was very friendly and attentive.
Fun experience with Meri guiding us through all steps in a pedagogical way. Good value for money and options to pick different designs of plates for an additional fee.
Wonderful experience with Meri as our guide. I liked that we could add some money to get nicer plates than the regular which is included in the ticket price. The nicest plate is 4 000 yen
It’s great experience with guided instructions in a v relaxing atmosphere . V satisfying experience overall, highly recommend !!
