We had a wonderful tour with Milo. He was very knowledgeable and friendly and we enjoyed our conversation with him throughout the tour. My wife has a wheat allergy that we had informed him of in advance, and he had thoughtfully planned out foods that she could enjoy at Nishiki market. He ended the tour at a rooftop bar with amazing views of the city. We would highly recommend touring with Milo!

Reviews
Cici was our guide for this Kyoto food tour. She was very accommodating and friendly. Her knowledge of the food Kyoto culture and Kyoto history was great. Her English was very good. We had a great time, ate some great food, and had some fun conversations. Highly recommend this food tour.
Michael was like having a college friend show us around the city. He is so friendly and easy-going. And, he also thought carefully about how to make our tour special--which it certainly was. As we talked, he also made a last-minute change that wound up allowing us to see a highlight of the evening.
Michael, our guide was great, full of information and stories. We had many food options, too many: tempura, yakitori, sushi, dessert.
Nisa was an incredible guide! She made the day so fun! Not only did we eat interesting and delicious food, but she took us to places we would never have found on our own. If you are looking for a great food tour, go with Nisa!
The dessert at the Tea shop was both meaningful and memorable. Tour guide introduced us to a few new foods.
We had a great time with Toga! He was very warm and friendly. He was on time to the meet up and showed us some great new places. Our family really enjoyed spending time with Toga, even in the cold rain. We definitely recommend him for this tour.
Alex gave us a quick but thorough tour of Kyoto. He was very knowledgeable and informative. We got a good idea of the history of Kyoto. Very interesting and fun.
The tour was very expensive for the amount of food eaten/knowledge shared. Our guide was kind and friendly but we would have enjoyed more recommendations on what to eat and what to try.
We really enjoyed talking with our guide. We had great ramen and tried different sakes. He also gave a ramen restaurant referral for Osaka.
Carolina was our guide and she was very knowledgeable of the food scene in Kyoto. She took us directly to the Nishiki market and quickly found the best food stalls. It was early, but she also was in tune with our vacation plans and helped us get some good sake first thing! The market is large, and I prefer it to Tsukiji. Don't eat before you go!
So much fun! Michael was an incredible host and made us feel so welcome. He picked great restaurants and customized the trip to fit everyones taste. I traveled with my two teenagers and we all agree that this was the best part of our trip.
We really enjoyed our food tour with Alex through the streets of Kyoto. Alex was super friendly and informative throughout the experience where we sampled many different foods. The tour exceeded our expectations! Alex also recommended several restaurants around our hotel which were also great!
Tess knows how to eat! Whatever you want to eat, or if you want to try new things, Tess is your gal. 100% upbeat and in the know Tess provided good tour. Oknonomiyaki, sushi and wagyu yakiniku were on the menu. We were too full to eat anymore so Tess showed us where all the good bars were, which we returned to the following night. Start off on thh right foot in Kyoto with Tess!
Our tour guide Anna was fabulous. We all really enjoyed our night in fabulous Kyoto. Would highly recommend to do this.
Our guide was very nice. Toured us around and showed us the sights. But not a food tour at all. We expected a hidden gem restaurant. Knowledge of a chef or cook. Something special. Behind the scenes. But all we did was stop by two street vendor restaurants that were picked on the spot. This should be a walking tour only and not advertised as a foodie tour at all. So call it a nice walking tour and you would be happy. But not food related at all.
After being on a tour during the day, Justin really made my stay in Kyoto very special with the evening food tour. I would have missed a lot in Kyoto if I didn’t sign up for his tour. If you take this tour, make sure you take it with Justin.
An excellent time with a knowledgeable guide, great food and a way to really feel the hustle and bustle of the food market. Would do again!
Justin was such a fun tour guide. My partner is a bit shy but he pulled him right out of that and had him drinking and doing activities that were specifically tailored to his interests in no time. The food was amazing. It introduced me to melonpan, which is officially my favourite food ever. We were left so full and happy. The most perfect introduction to Kyoto. Justin also gave us tips for where we could eat when we stopped back in. I would recommend this experience (and Justin) to everyone!
I originally had this tour planned for Tokyo, but I'm so happy I ended up doing it in Kyoto. The food was absolutely delicious. Honestly best food I had in all 3 cities I visited in Japan. Eko is an awesome guide. Very helpful, good taste in food and just fun to talk to. If you love food like I do, definitely go for it.
