Our family photo session was such a lovely experience! The photographer made us feel comfortable and helped us enjoy every moment. It was a wonderful way to remember our trip to Japan and our experience wearing kimonos. Thank you for capturing these special memories that we will always cherish!

An excellent experience! Reo knew all the best locations and angles for capturing beautiful photographs. This is no small feat in Kyoto during October, when the city is bustling with tourists. Despite the crowds, we managed to capture quite a few wonderful, unobstructed shots. It really demonstrates the difference that extensive local knowledge and experience can make. We are very much looking forward to receiving our professionally edited and enhanced photographs, which we hope will be ready in the near future.

Did not get what I asked for and could not use the footage he did for me. Paid way too much for what I got and avoided all my messages. I would never use this person. Beware. His footage he gave did not look like what I asked. Didn't even shoot all the stock i sent him. Spent well over 200000 Yuan

Reo was great at communication to help set up a surprise proposal from: locations, timing, dealing with the crowds. We were able to get the perfect intimate moment as well as an array of location shots to capture the city and the cherry blossoms. We ended up with hundreds of shots we then got to select through ourselves ensuring we had every moment.

Reo is an excellent photographer. I am so happy my fiancée and I choose his services for our photoshoot. He is patient and very through to make sure you get a good shot in each of the locations you visit. I got referred by a friend who is working abroad in Japan. I am so happy I decided to take his recommendation! Reo knows a lot about the local area and customs. We happen to visit during a time when Geisha's were returning from their holiday travels. He made sure to tell us the history behind them as well as making sure we spotted a couple during our photoshoot. After the photoshoot he was very prompt in returning our photos to us and offered to make edits and changes to the photos if we were not happy with them. I thought I was only going to be able to find a couple photos I liked but we were able to find so many we liked! He truly makes sure you have a good time and even offers pointers for poses if you aren't sure what will look best. I totally recommend his services especially if you are in the Kyoto area for your next vacation.

Reo was very accommodating. We missed our Shinkansen but he rescheduled our meeting time and showed up early to scout the area and find a private spot. Highly recommend.

We highly recommend his service, and we love the fact that he is Japanese. Along the way, he shared many things about Japanese culture and added our knowledge about Japan, Japanese people, and Kyoto. He listened to what we wanted for our family pictures and suggested the best places to fulfill it. What also surprised me was when we told Reo that we had a memory of Kyoto but had forgotten the exact place. Reo did a spectacular job and took tons of beautiful photos! It was difficult to pick out the final ones for edits. He spent a lot of time with us and was never rushed; he would wait for the right lighting or passersby to step away to get the best shots. He also took us to a lovely nearby temple and side street for bonus shots. Strongly recommended for your Kyoto photos!

I was nervous about figuring out what are the best places for a photo shoot in Kyoto, but Reo was very helpful with both suggestions on location beforehand, and ideas on what poses and things we could try during the photo shoot. While checking the reviews before writing mine, I was really surprised. Among all the positive feedback, there was one negative review that seemed completely misplaced. Don’t assume every review is true, especially this one. He also accepts bookings outside this platform, and his prices are always correct and clearly listed. He never charges more than what’s indicated. A friend introduced me to Kyotoric, and when I had a photo session with him in Japan, the price was exactly what I expected. I suspect the person who left the negative review might have been using New Zealand dollars instead of US dollars. He gave us detailed instructions on where to stand and where to face, so he was far more than just a guy with a camera. We’ve printed the family photos and put them up in our living room as a beautiful memory from Japan. Reo, thank you again!

Kyoto photographer was extremely professional and patient and the photos were a 10/10. I really appreciated how he took us to several destinations during the shoot, at no extra charge - some of which were Kyoto’s most famous historical sites. For the shoot itself he gave us great instruction on how to pose and made the whole process simple and intuitive. We got the photos back quickly and absolutely love the way they came out. From our research, his pricing was much lower than other photographers in the area while his quality was better than the other vendors. Highly recommend!

If I could give this guy a 0 rating I would. He literally took over $500 for 70 minutes shoot and he is not replying to our messages. We kept messaging him for days until he gave us the edited photos. He is a fraud and is cheating people after taking the money. He is a dodgy person and is not a sincere person. The charges are not transparent and he charges extra $70 literally for every season. We went in July when it was burning hot and he charged us $70 extra for having a shoot in July when we were literally sweating at night at 8.30pm. We only received the photos after messaging him multiple times on several days. We even called him to get in touch with him but no response and reply from him for days when he promised to provide the photos at a specific date. Also he keeps deleting and un-sending messages and just tries to make it look very unprofessional and weird because he tries to manipulate facts. Very unprofessional and horrible service. Also when we received the photos, the editing and final photos were very mediocre, anyone with a professional camera could take such photos honestly. Not worth the hassle. Be very careful when booking him and confirm everything beforehand because he will end up overcharging you for anything and everything.

Soooo thankful we found Reo at @kyotoric while we were on a family trip in Kyoto. Reo is super responsive & recommended a fantastic place for us to rent kimonos & a beauitful park/ nearby areas for the photo shoot. Reo had a tough crew with 2 teenagers who were not quite as excited to have pictures taken so getting everyone to smile and look at the camera was quite a task but he captured some beautiful shots! The pictures are AMAZING & it was so much fun!!!!! Having Reo take pictures of you and your family / friends is the best way to create great memories that will last a lifetime. Just hung our pictures on the wall- truly spectacular! Thank you Reo!!!!! :)

Ryo took the time to make us feel at ease especially with a baby. He showed us the local spots in Kyoto and also took extra time to get the shots we wanted.

We really enjoyed our photo shoot with Reo when we were visiting Kyoto! We were so lucky that he had availabilities last minute as we did not plan this in advance and he was very accommodating. We had looked at his portfolio on instagram prior to going which had so many beautiful landscape photos. My mom and I went to Kyoto from East Coast USA for temple hopping, forest bathing and of course, the food. Once there, we realized how picturesque and one-of-kind the city is. We only had our phone cameras which weren’t giving the environment any justice. So when we found Ryo, photographer extraordinaire and founder of Kyotoric, we felt incredibly lucky. Not only is Ryo excellent at what he does, with an eye for lightning, artistry and nuance, he is also a genuinely nice guy and a lot of fun to work with. We even bought him lunch after our photography session. We will absolutely use Kyotoric again next time we’re in the city. The best!

I recently had a fantastic Seijin-shiki photoshoot with Kyotoric. From start to finish, the experience was incredible. The shoot was meticulously planned, and he knew exactly where to take the photos to capture the best moments. Kyotoric is a calm and modest photographer, who respects your wishes and gives reasonable opinions which places are best for photoshooting (like not crowded spots, positions and timing) and also tells you some historical facts about Kyoto :). It was our honeymoon trip in Kyoto, Gladly booked Kyotoric for portrait shooting, Kyotoric was so nice and sincere. He attentively found the nice spots and tried his best to take the best photos, and the photos come out so perfectly! While the shooting time, kyotoric also introduced us about the Japanese culture, which was so great for us to experience Kyoto. This time I searched carefully and after seeing Kyotoric's pics, I decided to use him. Thanks to his excellent suggestions for everything, we were able to fully enjoy our shoot. For our final trip as students, we booked a session with Kyotoric to create lasting memories. Although we weren't used to being photographed, we soon became comfortable and enjoyed ourselves very much. We've printed some photos and displays them in our room. I wanted to wear a kimono on my first trip with my longtime best friend and preserve our memories! I was looking for a photographer in Kyoto and found Kyotoric and contacted them. I wasn't sure which one to choose with the others, but I decided to go with Kyotoric because of their very prompt and courteous service, which made a very good impression on me. Although there was not much time left between the time I requested the photo shoot and the day of the shoot, Kyotoric gave me plenty of time to discuss what kind of finished photos I wanted, and I was able to go into the shoot with a lot of confidence. During the shoot, we were not used to posing, so he guided us on where to stand, etc., and at the same time, he was very calm and helped us relax.
