The tea ceremony was nice. We learned about the history, growth, and service of the matcha tea. It wasn’t a full 3-4 hour ceremony, but it covered what was most important. Akemi was our hostess and very pleasant. Then we had our walking tour work Yuki-Chan. She is adorable and we really enjoyed our walk. The Nishiki Market has so many delicious options it’s hard not to try and buy everything. We would recommend this tour!
Excellent tour through the market!
Yuko was our tea master, and performed the ceremony with grace and charm. With background on the history and culture of tea, it was enjoyable making our own matcha--a solemn process with humor through in at times. A beautiful experience, with Yuko-san in traditional kimono and acting with thoughtful precision in the ceremonial process of making tea. Keiko met us after the ceremony for the Nishiki Market walk. It was, however, more than expected. On the way to the market, among pointing out sights, Keiko gave us a deeper look into the geisha culture while on one of the relevant tea house streets. Very interesting and Keiko had much knowledge. The market was fun, as Keiko pointed out the best shops and gave suggestions on best purchases. Keiko's kindness and consideration were expressed throughout, even helping me to navigate the transportation to get to my next outing. Both Yuko and Keiko made the start of the day something special. Much including, but at a normal pace, and finishing in time to do the other activities of the day.
Such an enjoyable experience. The tea ceremony was so special. I loved the walk to and inside Nishi Market. Our tour guide was very friendly and informative
Very informative tour with lots of cultural details.
We were really happy with the Tour of Miho. She explained a lot about the culture and we got to know Kyoto even better.
Paul was great, gave us lots of insights about the japanese culture, local food and products to buy.
We had Miho-San as our guide. We had a loveley walk and Miho-San could answer all our questions. She was polite and respectfull for the environment. Miho-San made it a perfect tour. The Tea ceremony experience was also really great and a really good experience.
Great experience with Takuma going through the market. He took us to great spots and we had a lot of fun! Would do it again. Great with our kids.
Miho was our tour guide this morning through the markets she was very friendly and knowledgeable. Even got a little sweet treat at the end. Highly recommend!
The tea ceremony was a delightful way to start our day in Kyoto. Akime was such a great host: knowledgeable, funny, and gracious. The tea was great and so were the little sweets. The tour of Kyoto and Nishiki was informative and easy. Miho took us to some cool temples and shrines along the way and we got a sweet treat at the end of the market tour.
Great guides Takuma and Mika. Thank you both.
Miho has an eye for the details and took us on a very interesting and tasty tour!
Had a beautiful expeirnce of real the tea ceremony and later the Nishki guided tour with Miho . Very friendly and polite Guide who was very patient with our daughters gave us a good perspective Kyoto start from the Pontocho street and ending at the nishki market . a must do tour to give you real feels about Kyoto .
Both the tea ceremony and Nishiki Market were great experiences with excellent guides. Our tea master, Mai, made a very relaxed and enjoyable tea ceremony. Later, Machiko, took great care in showing us the Nishiki Market and making recommendations based on our interests.
Ayu was really friendly and helpful, advised us on the best foods to eat.
We had so much fun with Takuma! We learned a lot about the culture and he answered all the questions we had about Kyoto and showed us great spots to eat at in the Nishiki Market.
Takuma was such a knowledgable tour guide. Very friendly, great english, and even bought us some food from the market. Couldn’t ask for a better guide!
Nice tea ceremony, not very typical location. Tour well explained with interesting facts and historical context. Price is average for the offers but it is not worth the cost
The guide was very nice, she showed us various places both inside and outside the market, she also explained to us how to pray in a Shinto temple and in a Buddhist one.
Miho is a great guide! Very sweet and knows a lot to tell! Recommended!
Miho is a great guide, she taught us a lot of Japanese culture and customs during the city walk!
After a tea ceremony we were picked up by Miho who told a lot about different things we saw. We were also allowed to taste or try something at different shops. Thanks for the nice morning
