I really liked the tour because it never got boring. Shion made time to visit shops too on our private tour. She gave us lots of information which otherwise we would have missed out on.

Shion is an incredibly accomodating, knowledgeable and super kind guide with always your best interest and comfort in mind. She made our visit with our 12 year old daughter a highlight on our Japan journey. Days later she is still randomly remembering information we heard from Shion all the time and happily connecting it with other situations elsewhere.

We had a wonderful evening exploring Gion, Kyoto with Wajid, and he was an excellent guide from start to finish. He was friendly, knowledgeable and very engaging, and did a great job explaining not only the history and culture of Gion, but also the stories and traditions behind the places we visited. What I particularly appreciated was that Wajid didn’t simply take us from one tourist spot to another. He helped us understand the character of Gion and Kyoto, pointed out details that we would probably have missed on our own, and shared interesting insights that made the walk much more meaningful. He was also very patient, accommodating and attentive to our pace, making the whole experience relaxed and enjoyable. His enthusiasm for Kyoto really came through, and it felt more like being shown around by a knowledgeable friend than simply being taken on a standard tour. Our guide Valerio was friendly and very knowledgeable. The 2hr tour was perfect, was not rushed and were able to stop often and take photos. Highly recommend

Even in the pouring rain, this was an extremely interesting tour! Our guide Nao was delightful, knowledgeable, and had excellent English. He presented the material in a way that insured us. He found it interesting as well and he kindly answered everybody’s questions. This is a very good tour and I would probably do it again on a sunny day!

Eric was a charming and interesting host, and made the tour a great one for us. He even kindly escorted us to the subway after.

Our guide was wonderful! Her English was very clear, she was friendly and knowledgeable, and we really enjoyed our time with her. Unfortunately, the weather was very rainy, and a couple of people in our group were having difficulty continuing because of the rain. We ultimately decided that it would be best not to complete the tour. Our decision had absolutely nothing to do with our guide—she was great! We actually hated that we had to leave her and wished the weather had cooperated so we could have finished the entire tour. We would definitely recommend her!

Kris was extremely interesting and knowledgeable about the Gion area. We had a long tour but good weather ending with seeing the most famous tea house of Geishas and Maikos. Kris did a great job, answered all our questions. Made the area come to life.

Great value. Wished I did this the first evening on arrival to Kyoto rather than final night. Our guide showed us sites that were more tucked away from the main streets. Lots of food places that looked inviting.
