Masa was our tour guide and she was awesome! She was very knowledgeable and had a wonderful sense of humor. The tour was a great way to see a number of Kyoto highlights in an efficient way that would have been hard to replicate on our own. Highly recommend this tour and our tour guide!

What a great way to see all of the key historic sites in a day! Masa was funny and very positive. We navigated buses, subways, and trains in our small group. No way we could have done this on our own. The group was small so we were able to navigate easily. It is a long day w 20k steps so be prepared but no better way to cover everything and decide to go back if you want to later.
We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Walking and travelling seamlessly through Kyoto, we reached each location effortlessly. Meg, our fantastic tour guide, provided invaluable insights and expertly explained each sightseeing spot. Time seemed to fly by and we never felt bored. Our highlights were the lotus blossoms at Ryoan-Ji Temple and the breathtaking views from Kiyomizu Temple after conquering the hill. We highly recommend this tour.
I wanted to see all the major sights in one day since I was traveling eith my mom who is in a wheelchair. Unfortunately, many of the top sights were not accessible, so I decided a tour would be the best option to see it all in a day. This was an incredible tour! Megumi was an excellent tour guide. She was so knowledgeable, interesting and a lovely person. She had answers to every question and adjusted the tour to our interests. This was the highlight of my trip! Yes it's a lot of walking, but that is the best way to see everything! This was so much better than a bus tour with too many people - this is a small group and more like s private tour. Thank you for the memories Megumi!
Wow!! Masako is so energetic and so caring. She looked after all of us and explained everything so well. I am just amazed that after 10 hours of walking she still was full of energy. Simply the best
As someone who has traveled to 68 countries and worked with countless tour companies, I can confidently say my experience with Beautiful Tours in Japan was the worst I’ve ever had. The communication was consistently unprofessional and shockingly inflexible. Every interaction left me questioning whether they even had the basic standards one would expect from a reliable tour operator. A company that operates this way is simply not one to be trusted. If you’re considering a trip to Japan, I urge you to choose another provider to avoid the disappointment and frustration I experienced. Book elsewhere—this company is not worth the risk.
Memorable day in Kyoto with Megumi our guide. She was knowledgeable, polite and a good communicator. This was my first time in Kyoto and I totally recommend it.
My wife and I only have 3 days in Kyoto and opted for this tour because of the effort planning would otherwise take. Our guide, Masako, was an absolutely delightful, funny and extremely knowledgeable lady who combined her knowledge of Kyoto history with her charming sense of humour and kept us engaged throughout. The tour has a fair amount of walking, which can get uncomfortable in the Japan summer. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and pack an umbrella. Otherwise, you can’t beat the convenience and planning that goes into taking this tour. Thank you in particular to Masako, an absolute sweetheart of a tour leader.
Megumi is a very good tour guide. She engaged me and my family very well. She is very informative and explained things very well. I would highly recommend this tour to all my friends and family.
Our tour guide Meg was fantastic. She was so knowledgeable and friendly and made this tour one of the best I have been on. We were travelling with teenage boys and even they loved it. Truly a great experience and I would highly recommend.
Great walking tour! Terrific overview of the significant sites in Kyoto in just one day. Be prepared to get your steps in!
Our experience was truly incredible. We explored countless breathtaking places, each leaving us in awe. Masako, our guide, deserves an abundance of stars for her exceptional service. Her kindness and wealth of knowledge about every corner and historical detail of Kyoto made our journey unforgettable. We wholeheartedly loved every moment of it.
Definitely recommend this tour especially to those who don’t have much time to spend in Kyoto. Masako, our guide, a local in the Kansai area, really came prepared for the task of day sharing a lot of information about the places we visited and Kyoto in general. She was really nice, and although our itinerary was really packed, she didn’t make us feel like we were being controlled and had to strictly follow the schedule. Instead, she just allowed us to enjoy the tour, guiding us whenever necessary. The choice of place for lunch/break was also good.
Got to see everything in one day with an incredible guide. Was the best way to see Kyoto. Really enjoyed it
This tour is definitely not for the faint of heart. You definitely get a work out with over 20,000 + steps. Wear comfortable shoes and clothing. Have a positive attitude, as there is a lot of walking combined with multiple use of public transportation. With that said, this walking tour was an experience I will always remember with fondness. Masa, our wonderful tour guide kept a tight schedule to ensure we completed each and every one our 12 sites. Masa was extremely kind, thoughtful, funny, charming, enthusiastic, energetic and filled with a plethora of information about the city and the sites. We learned so much more than we could have on our own as well as any bus tour which couldn’t have given us this same experience. There is a time constraint, however so not much time for souvenir shopping but time enough to take as many pictures as you like. I highly recommend this tour. I highly recommend Masa as a tour guide as she went above and beyond to ensure we all had a great experience.
Great, informative and highly intense tour! We saw almost all of Kyoto’s highlights in one day. Our guide was amazing!
We had an amazing experience on the Kyoto tour! Our guide Masa was not only knowledgeable but also took excellent care of us throughout the journey. Masa was instrumental in helping us navigate through Kyoto, ensuring we didn't miss any of the city's highlights. We did a fair amount! of walking, but it was worth it to see the most famous places in Kyoto, including Kinkakuji and other renowned temples. Our guide's guidance and historical insights enhanced our appreciation of these cultural treasures. Overall, this tour allowed us to make the most of our time in Kyoto, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to explore this beautiful city's iconic sites in 1 day with a guide who truly cares for their guests. Thank you Masa!!!
Massa was truly amazing she had an incredible knowledge of everything she took us to . She was very compassionate an kind to everyone’s needs an kept us all in a happy mood with her presentation an banter
This was a great way to see multiple attractions! It's hard on your body but worth it to get to see so much!
Pretty please do this if you are going to Kyoto. It’s amazing! Megumi is the absolute best guide and made me feel so welcomed, as I did this solo. She is so lovely, knowledgeable, caring and I will never forget the experience. I loved every minute of it. I also loved being around everyone that joined that day. Was like a mini family 🫶🏾
Great introduction tour to Kyoto! Megumi was such a thoughtful and kind host, wouldn’t have been able to navigate the city as well without her help. This is my first trip to Kyoto and thanks to Megumi I can now better navigate the city and know what areas I want to spend more time in. Highly recommend especially for first time travelers to Kyoto!
Our tour tour guide was excellent and very knowledgeable too. The tour was poorly organized and we had to walk all day long. The restaurant arranged for lunch did not cater to vegetarians. We made another similar tour from Osaka which was organized so well with a Japanese lunch ( lncluding vegetarian). In short the tour was a washout.
Amazing fun and long day visiting the main sites in Kyoto. Our guide Masako was very friendly, knowledgeable and fun. Having a guide is the best way to maximize a day. Itinerary is planned so no need to worry. Sushi at a sushi-go-round restaurant was great for lunch. Thank you Masako.
Masako was an AMAZING tour guide! Her knowledge of Kyoto and her witty humor made the PERFECT experience! I learned more than I have ever learned about a city, and she was so attentive to our needs as a group! I feel like I know so much about Kyoto! We even got to see a geisha!!! The views were breathtaking, and each temple and shrine we visited was so rich in history! I wish I could give Masako 100 stars! I did a 9 hour tour, and she made every second worth it! I will always remember her fun personality when I think of my trip to Japan!
This is perfect for your first day in the City. It's a fast paced tour and it is impossible for a tourist to figure out soany means of transport in one day even if they know the names of all sites that this experience covers. Moreover, even if you do, it requires herculean motivation to cover sooo much in a day ! Thirdly, i found my remaining days in Kyoto supereasy to navigate because such fast pace experiences familiarise you so well with the public transport system. Don't expect too much information about the places because that's not really an agenda for such fast tours . Also, the guide is the sweetestttt! Accent is difficult to understand but she is the cutest, most caring and innocent guide you will come across ! Three cheers for Masa San!
Masa was an excellent guide. All the places we went to were one better than the previous. We had an amazing day looking at the wonderful places of Kyoto. Masa was very patient while answering questions on the trip and gave us good recommendations for the next day. We cannot her wonderful ‘née’ before taking group pictures.
It was a great tour with amazing scenery and wonderful guides. I would love to join this agency tour again next time.
