This was a wonderful way to experience four of Kyoto’s iconic sights in one day. Our guide, Maria, was fantastic — friendly, knowledgeable, and equally comfortable guiding guests in English and Japanese. What I particularly appreciated was the flexibility to explore with Maria or independently at each stop. It allowed everyone to enjoy the sights at their own pace. It is a long, busy day with plenty of walking and crowds. A great way to see a lot of Kyoto in one day.

Itinerary
Begin at the head shrine of over 30,000 Inari shrines across Japan. Walk the famous tunnel of thousands of vermillion torii gates winding up the forested mountainside — the path seems to stretch endlessly ahead, making it one of the most photographed sights in Japan.
Walk through the ancient Sagano Bamboo Grove with your guide — towering green stalks filter the light and the rustling sound is unlike anywhere else in Kyoto. Guests also have free-roaming time in Arashiyama to explore the surrounding area at their own pace.
A small atmospheric shrine tucked along the bamboo path, linked to the classic Japanese tale The Tale of Genji. Accessible during free-roaming time in Arashiyama.
600 illuminated kimono-fabric poles near Randen station — a striking visual installation along the walking path between the bamboo grove and the main street. Accessible during free-roaming time.
The iconic moon-crossing bridge spanning the Oi River with Arashiyama's forested hills as a backdrop. Accessible during free-roaming time in Arashiyama.
The gold-leaf covered Golden Pavilion was once the villa of the Ashikaga Shogun and is now a Zen temple and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Reflected in its still mirror pond, it is one of Kyoto's most iconic sights.
Walk the traditional Higashiyama approach street and climb to Kiyomizu-dera's famous wooden stage — built without a single nail, jutting from the hillside with sweeping views over Kyoto's rooftops. Drink from the three streams of Otowa Waterfall, said to bring success, love, and longevity. UNESCO World Heritage Site.

It was a great experience, especially for first time visitors to Kyoto. Our guide, Maria, was wonderful. We were amazed at her multilingual skills, communicating fluently to Japanese, English and Spanish guests. Showed us the backgrounds on all the sites and was genuinely friendly and pleasant. I highly recommend the Limon tour, we had a great time!
I gave this 5 stars because our tour guide Kiron was wonderful. His knowledge and commentary really gave the tour stops meaning. The stops themselves were very very crowded. Often times hardn to get q good picture because of all the people. If you don't like crowds these shrines and temples may not be for you. Despite the large crowds, the shrines and temples were amazing to see and learn about. For a person who does not do well in crowds, I did ok. You will walk a lot so keep that in mind as well. I totally recommend.
What a fantastic day. Full on but fun. Lunch was very nice. Maria was an amazing host friendly and fun xxx
Kieran was an outstanding tour guide. He was professional, knowledgeable and explained every stop in detail in both English and Japanese. Great Tour. It was raining heavy but we still did everything and got enough time at each stop.
This trip was not what I expected. I booked an English tour - this was NOT that. It was a bilingual tour. I was never sure when the guide was switching between languages and felt that I missed a bunch. Also, since this guide had to repeat herself in multiple languages, it meant she was speaking quickly, and while walking too, when we could not hear well with noise and crowds around us. It seemed there was no time available for small things - finding garbage can, getting water, using toilet- I had to flag her down several times to insist we stop and tell her not to leave without me. I found keeping up with guide/ group to be stressful - the opposite of what booking a tour should be in a new place. Several times I thought of leaving the tour, and in the end I did. I enjoyed the temple more that way. The timing of the tori gate temple was awful - prime busyness. This tour felt very assembly line and in an effort to save money - people in different languages, and from two cities (Osaka and Kyoto) combined to fill the bus - the customer service experience dropped considerably. I took many tours in Japan and only this one left me feeling disappointed and dissatisfied. The worst of my tours in all of Japan.
Great tour with Kieran to Kyoto. Sites were all very busy but Kieran knows the best picture spots and how to navigate around the crowds.
A lot of walking. Luch a bit rushed, needed more time for buffet. Good to see four places in on day. Did the top three tourist locations dispite the crowds. Good timing as the Golden temple would have been very crowded in the morning.
Best for visiting the top landmarks in Kyoto in a day. Fair warning: you will walk a lot, but that was no problem for us. Our host, Lydia, was awesome and so welcoming. She showed me a video on how to lift the Denka’s weapon, and I actually managed to lift it a few centimeters! If we visit Japan again, we hope to travel with Lydia once more.
Lydia was great. Very engaging, informative and helpful. English good so we could understand everything she said. Showed us special spots so we could get the best shots. Looked after us well.
Amazing experience! Our tour guide gave us detailed maps of the routes we were taking and QR codes for all locations and meeting points. It was extremely helpful. You’ll never get lost if you decide to walk on your own for a while.
We didn't receive an email from the guide before departure. We were not told to look for Limon Tour. In fact, we asked the guide and showed our reservation but he said we were not in his group. Finally, we were the only ones left abandoned while the guide was looking for US without calling our names. If my husband didn't see our name his last paper, we would have missed the tour. The guide just smiled and said welcome. The tour was a good bargain covering 4 famous sites in 10 hours, but beware not to miss it.
More information and friendly tour guide. She never left anything and gave more history about Japan.
The tour places itself were very nice and cool. But it really felt like we just paid for a bus ticket. The tour guide didn’t really educate us at all about the sites and just walked along. It was much better to just do these places on your own. Also the provided lunch was very bad.
Absolutely perfect tour ! Flawlessly organized and full of humor and kindness. Our guide Lydia was simply amazing - incredibly knowledgeable, warm, and totally dedicated, she even taught us some Japanese to surprise the locals. Highly recommended!
We had the absolute best guide - Keiran! Yes, the pick up was easy, the bus driver was careful, the bus was comfortable, and the sights were perfect in capturing Kyoto in a day. BUT what made the experience so extraordinary was our guide. He was knowledgeable, friendly, provided excellent recommendations on food and omiyage, and went out of his way to lend his expertise on our travels. So blessed to have him lead our special day in a very special city!
Well organized trip from Osaka even though it’s a little bit far we were not tired because it was well thought with the rest stop halfway through! Jo our guide was very helpful and attentive throughout the day.
The tour was fantastic. Our guide, Lydia, is a very good professional and took hood care of us. I will take good memories to Brazil. I highly recommend this tour!!!
Organized and recommended if yoy want to visit many beautiful spots in a day.
The experience was amazing! There was a lot packed in one day and a lot of walking (probably 5 miles total).
Highly recommend this tour. It was a packed day with amazing places. Our tour guide, Kieran, was excellent. He was knowledgeable, friendly and had great insight.
We had the best time! Our guide was so friendly and gave us tons of interesting information along the way. Also I got to see all the places I probably would’ve missed if I had gone on my own. It was worth every second!
Kiran was a great tour guide in spite of the fact that he was only covering his colleague. He was friendly and gave enough overview of the places we visited. He helped with picture taking and offered suggestions/recommendations for best spots to take pictures. He also offered places where to pick up snacks/coffee. The places visited were the "must-see" places for every Kyoto visitor. Just be prepared to put in your 15k+ steps!
All the attractions covered were beautiful. However the tour seemed rushed at the end. Not sufficient time given for all the temples and shrines . Felt rushed. Need to add more time to the tour to do full justice. Also it’s expected that everyone be able to follow the given map. Easy to get lost if you don’t have network coverage to scan the meeting points.
Our guide was in English, however, for a majority of the tour, she spoke in her native language and it would translate into English onto your phone. This is a great tool, the information was a little misleading and reading on a phone while on a moving bus can sometimes make people sick. Relaying this information prior to booking would have been helpful.
It was Japan on conveyor belt I had not been on a day tour before except when in the bus it was always a rush got lost in a crowd separated from tour group at bamboo forest just so may people but tour group very professional contacted me and I met up at the bus
It was a lot of fun. The guide was great and a good photographer.
We had a good time in Kyoto. Our tour guide was amazing. The weather did get a bit hot in the afternoon but overall seeing th temples, the original architecture was just beautiful by the river. I would recommend this day tour to everyone.
Tour was good but really long. I think a bit less time could have been spent in each spot without taking away from the overall experience. It just felt like it dragged at times. Jewell was very kind and shared a lot of information.
Great informative tour, we enjoyed our experience
We had an amazing day in Kyoto with Jewell. It was very hot in the Sun, but Jewell explained a lot of things on the tour and took time to help everyone get good photos for a wonderful memory.
Great sampler tour of Kyoto shrines, temples, and sites. Our guide Maria was very knowledgeable, professional, and affable.
Excellent tour to see the most important attractions of Kyoto in just one day. Modern and Confortable buses. Great guide, who spoke excellent english and japanese (aussie guy living many year in Japan). No waste of time visiting stores in this tour like many tours around the world. Highly recommend it. I will travel with the same company my next time in Japan.
Excellent tour👌👌🙏🙏 enjoyed very much
Excellent tour of Kyoto. Very entertaining and informative.
Our guide was terrific. She was extremely knowledgeable, personable and possessed boundless energy! Would certainly recommend this tour in the future.
Fantastic day. Lovely tour leader
I enjoyed being able to take a bunch of photos and getting to see all the amazing views Kyoto has to offer!
Good service with perfect tome
The tour was very enjoyable because of the guide 'Jewel'. She explained everything so well.
Our Guide was very well organized and knowledgeable of the aights we visited. He kept us informed and gave us the option to visit the sights on our own. The driver of the bus was also very kind and helpful. The Lunch that we had included in the tour is highly recommended to get a flavor of local cuisine.
Excellent tour hosted by Jewel. Transportation was clean and smooth driver. The stops were long enough to be in the moment and experience Kyoto. It’s a great way to experience the area in a day that doesn’t feel so rushed. Lots of food options during the stops, so don’t feel compelled to take the meal option.
Great time. We hit all the spots on our list. Tour guide was very kind. Lots of free time to explore. Would book again !
Kyoto is a major tourist and Japanese destination and this was the perfect day trip from Osaka. Perfectly organised with very clear meet up instructions. Our guide Jewell was very informative. We covered 4 major sites in Kyoto with a reasonable amount of time at each. We still clocked up 12,876 steps!! Entry tickets were included so that was great. If you had to buy tickets on the day it would be a nightmare. We included lunch and it was lovely, fresh and plentiful. This was a very full day, could not have fitted another site in.
the incredible and beautiful views
Jewell was a great tour guide showing us the best of Kyoto! She knew all of the perfect photo opp spots & was very friendly. The buffet lunch had a wide spread of delicious strawberry desserts too!
Had a great time. Jewell took great photos of our group. Overall it was good.
Jewell the guide was exceptionally excellent in her responsibilities. She took care of us with special care .. her photography skills are very good and always available for help… Her description and knowledge in site’s history are versatile.. managed English and Japan is excellent..
Truly a great experience, Jewell our guide was very informative and also a great photographer. We were 22 people and she kept us all on time and on track. Comfortable bus …Very well organised tour.
Jewell was a very good guide. She was very knowledgeable in all the places we visited. She was also exceptionally good in her photography skills and took good photos of our group. She was especially accommodating and caring in all the tours and places we visited - making sure we came back on time and no one was left behind
