This was an amazing tour of the Fushimi-Inari Shrine. Ryoma gave us a unique experience by taking us up a less traveled route, introducing us to some of the people who make this a special place. We got to experience the beauty without the crowds. We then enjoyed a delicious lunch and matcha with Ryoma and the other two wonderful guides who joined us, Kazu and Benjamin. They were all so generous with their knowledge and tips about Kyoto. This is a tour not to miss, and JIN Japan Exploration Tours is fantastic - 10 out of 10!

Go was an amazing tour guide. He adjusted his pace to fit the group. He was very informative and friendly. The hike was a little more challenging then I thought but really enjoyed it!!
Satsuki was an amazing guide! We would highly recommend him and this hike. He guides you up and away from the masses of tourists where you get to quietly walk through the trees and small shrines. A super experience!
Despite my friend and I being the only people booked for the tour to our great surprise it went ahead, so we had a private tour! It was a great way to see the many shines by approaching the top from behind and walking back down the main route and finishing with a soba noodle lunch. Overall it was a great morning and due to lack of tourist at the moment we got some great photos. My only complaint was that we have had much better soba noodles in other places.
Fantastic experience. Definitely not something we could have done on our own. He showed paths away from the crowds which allowed us to grab some great pictures.
Kenji offered a unique and very enjoyable experience at an otherwise oversubscribed touristic location. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and thoughtfully paced the hike so that it was accessible to all participants. Our rainy day hike included warming tea and snack, and followed by a delicious bowl of soba noodles.
Our tour guide, Ko, was great. He is extremely knowledgeable, kind, and polite. His historical knowledge is impressive, enjoyable, and he welcomes challenging questions. The hidden hiking route was a pleasurable experience and concluded with a very nice lunch. Our tour was a small intimate group accompanied by a very nice family located from just outside London. We highly recommend this tour to all. Thank you for great experience, with an amazing tour guide.
This was an amazing tour from start to finish. Kenji explained everything in great detail which made the experience even better. My Wife and I learned so much about the Japanese way of life making the experience something only a local guide could have done. He showed us holy sites and trials that few if any tourists where on and then showed us amazing photo opportunities. Thanks for making our trip to Japan and Kyoto unforgettable.
Kenji was a fantastic tour guide friendly and kind he took us to many hiden places that not many tourists go and we manged to get all the way to the top where not many people actually make it. He was very informative he answered all our questions and taught us many new things. At the end we had the best thing of all, food witch was worth it after the long walk ...i highly recomend this tour
Very disappointed as this should be a great tour....if the guide had shown up! We have had many successful, informative and fun tours with Viator....all over the world, and this is the first one to fail to deliver. Perhaps better communication and visibility of guide (marked T-shirt or jacket) and better contact especially since we were travelling in a foreign country and neither of us can speak or read the native language.
Fushimi-Inari-Taisha is a must visit in Kyoto but as with all other places of interest, packed with other tourist. So I am so glad I booked my friends and I on this hike. Mr Yamashita Ko is a friendly, caring and attentive guide. After a while it feels like u are hanging out with a friend 😊. He is knowledgeable and answered all our queries. Thanx to him, we had such a wonderful experience at Fushimi instead of getting frustrated fighting with crowds. Highly recommend!!
This hidden route hike with Ko was terrific! He was great at explaining history and the mountain itself, and we got such a beautiful glimpse of Kyoto that felt non-touristy. It was just wonderful and the hike was breathtaking. There are lots of stairs, and they are steep, though. If you struggle physically, this would not be the tour for you.
Kenji was an informative professional Japanese guide and showed us a lots of special non touristic places. You would know about Japanese life and culture more deeply, such as religions, customs, natures, historical foods and so on. lf l didn't join this tour, I'm sure l couldn't enjoy Fusimi like this and I might be tired with crowded jam and long line. Finally, we enjoyed really tasty soba "kithune" noodles which is including tour price and a special meal in Fusimi at traditional restaurant. It was authentic and relaxing atmosphere and we enjoyed chatting after good hiking. I highly recommend this tour! Thank you for everything, Kenji!
I booked the Fushimi Inari tour for an influencer event held in Kyoto. Kenji was awesome to work with and was able to accommodate our large group of 22 people. To accommodate us, he arranged for a second guide and helped cut down the route to ensure we finished on-time (accounting for plenty of photo opportunities for the influencers, breaks, and providing interesting information on the areas we passed). The route he took us on was amazing - felt very hidden and we had most of the route to ourselves on top of being absolutely beautiful. The lunch place (soba restaurant) he took us afterwards was delicious and tasted great after the hike. I have heard lots of compliments on the hike from the attendees and would definitely book with Kenji again. Highly recommend this tour or any tour provided with Kenji for both small and large groups - you will be guaranteed to have a great time! Thanks for everything :)
I enjoyed hiking experience in Mt.Rokko and Fushimi inari. Kenji, Mt. guide, has a lot of guide experience and knowledge about Mountain in Japan and Foreign countries. The experience was safe and fun. He took us tasty Soba restaurant and hidden Onsen spot, we really enjoyed it. I recommend this experience.
Kenji's Fushimi Inari tour was a wonderful experience. He was a very well-come man, and not only did he teach us every inch of the Inari Shrine, he also taught us about the general culture of Japan. His Fushimi Inari tour is one of the best things to do! As we made our way to the top through hidden paths, the experience at some of the stops along the way was particularly special. Indeed, there was a spirit of hospitality here. This is the best experience I have had in a year.
was a French honeymoon couple and two Swiss men with five people As it turned out, unlike my amateur self, I felt like I was a professional tour guide. First, the amount of information you provide to your guests is extraordinary. There were many things that even the ordinary Japanese didn't know, and I felt that knowledge alone was not enough to convey them in English, it was the result of steady accumulation Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine is also a symbol of overtourism, with a cup of coffee costing as much as 440 yen and tourist destination prices, as well as many other business aspects, it is not a relaxing atmosphere In that environment, inbound traffic is probably scurrying around in a limited amount of time and with fragmented information that we've got in guidebooks and stuff. I think this tour is highly recommended for all inbound visitors to Inari, even if it costs a little (but it's hard not to do it). It should be about 10 times more efficient and dense than going around on your own. You can imagine a pattern where inbound customers book things as if they were a test, and only those items that exceed their imagination are awarded five stars. I highly recommend it.
