This was definitely the highlight of my Kyoto trip. It is a full day of walking, with the occasional train, which I thought was the best way to see the city. Inara was an amazing guide who clearly loves the city. I don't think I asked a single question that he couldn't answer, and he often had little tidbits of information that only locals would know. It made the trip super interesting. I really enjoyed seeing the highlights, from the bamboo Forest to the Golden Temple. He also showed me a really delicious spot for lunch, which I appreciated

This was my second time on this tour (first time was 2 years ago). Indra is a kind and very knowledgeable guide who made my entire family feel welcomed and engaged in the day. If you want a memorable and fun day in Kyoto, I highly recommend this tour!
Ingrad is by far the best tour guide we have ever had, and we have traveled extensively and experienced many guided tours. Our March 20 tour in Kyoto was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. From the moment we met him, he was incredibly attentive, professional, and genuinely focused on making sure we had the best possible experience. He was very in tune with our needs, adjusting the pace throughout the day and making sure we were comfortable at all times. Nothing ever felt rushed, yet we were able to see and experience so much. His knowledge of Japan is outstanding. He shared not only historical facts, but also meaningful insights into Japanese culture, traditions, and everyday life. What really stood out was how clearly and engagingly he explained everything—he made complex history easy to understand and truly brought each location to life. One of the most memorable parts of our experience was when he introduced us to the Japanese way of eating tonkatsu. He took the time to explain the proper way to enjoy it—from how to grind the sesame seeds, to mixing the sauce, and how everything is meant to be eaten together. It may seem like a small detail, but it gave us a deeper appreciation of Japanese dining culture and made the experience feel authentic and special. Ingrad also went above and beyond by acting as our personal photographer. He always knew the perfect spots for photos and made sure we had beautiful pictures to remember our experience. This was such a thoughtful and unexpected touch that made the tour even more special. He truly knows Japan inside and out—from navigating efficiently to avoiding crowds and even suggesting hidden gems we would never have discovered on our own. His attention to detail, warmth, and passion for what he does made the entire day seamless and enjoyable. We would absolutely book with Ingrad again without hesitation. If you are considering a tour in Kyoto, I highly recommend requesting him—you will not be disappointed.
A Great day, long walk and also using public transportation to visit recommended highlight around Kyoto with a knowledgeable guide with a stop in Nishi market for authentic food . Wholehearted recommendation
This was my first day in Japan. So it's good way to get some idea of different kind of transportations. I was the only guest on the day, so Indra helped take a lot of photos for me, which is good for a solo traveler. All in all, I enjoyed my new experience in Japan.
Kyoto is a magnificent city to visit with so much cultural heritage. The highlight of our tour was our guide Indra. He is originally from Indonesia but has lived in Japan for many years. He was very forthcoming with information and recommendations. He also gave us great insights into the Japanese culture and customs, not only from a Japanese point of view but also from an outsiders point of view which we appreciated. We highly recommend him.
Great day out with Indra - easy pace, so many good sights, and excellent commentary, information, context and hot tips for best photo spots from our wonderful guide, Indra! Highly recommend this tour and Indra for anyone who wants to experience Kyoto.
Very good experience. Our guide was very thorough and provided many insights and a pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommended if you don't mind walking.
On the day of my tour, I was the only one booked so it ended up essentially being a private tour. The guide spoke great English, was very knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions I had. It was a great way to see all of Kyoto highlights in one day. The only criticism I have is at the start of the day the guide asked did I have a transport card, which I didn’t so he offered to use his and I would pay him back the 1,200 yen at the end of the day. When it came to paying for lunch I said I would pay for his, which was 2,400 yen for the transport and a tip. Despite this at the end of the tour, he asked I pay him for the transport which I found quite awkward as I had already done so by buying his lunch.
Our tour guide's name is Indra. He was very knowledgeable, patient and funny. He taught us a few Japanese phrases that helped us alot. He thought also thought us alot about Japanese culture and modern day practices. He knew they layout of the land which helped alot with avoiding long lines and touristy areas. In addition, he didn't mind being my personal photographer and taking me too all the good spots for photos. The restaurant he took us for lunch was delicious. I would highly recommend Indra and will use his services again when I visit Japan again.
This tour was an amazing experience that we won’t forget! Our guide, Indra, was incredible, taking us to all the must-see spots like Kinkaku-ji, Fushimi Inari, Gion, and Arashiyama, while providing rich historical context and fascinating stories along the way. His enthusiasm and expertise brought the city’s history to life. He captured stunning photos of us at every location, making memories that will last a lifetime. The pace was perfect, and we never felt rushed. It was a wonderful tour experience that we will recommend to all of our family and friends!
Had a great day. The tourguide Mareen was amazing! She took her time explaining the history of every site. She showed me so much of Kyoto all in one day. She helped with the trains and bussen! I would highly recomend going with this tour and Mareeen!
My wife and I had the pleasure of taking the full day tour of Kyoto with Maureen as our guide. We had a fantastic day exploring the many sites of Kyoto. Maureen was a fantastic guide and was able to give us plenty of information regarding the sites, their history and significance. She did a great job showing us how to use the public transport system as well! Maureen also gave us valuable insights into Japanese culture. All in all, a fantastic day with a delightful guide.
Maureen my tour guide did an amazing job of accompanying me on the sightseeing tour and explaining to me the historical and cultural contexts of sights . I truly enjoyed the day thanks to her warm, open and professional attitude.
Maureen was wonderful!!! Smoothly guided us through buses and trains across the city. Visited all the major sites. She was kind, professional and very entertaining. Would highly recommend this experience to anyone.
Maureen was our guide, she was excellent. She was very knowledgeable, funny and easy to converse with. She made the day very enjoyable.
Wonderful, Maureen was an awesome guide. Saw a lot of great stuff. We love Kyoto. Temples, food, people. Japan is an awesome place.
Indra was excellent. So much knowledge and a great way to see Kyoto in a day. Great selections of sites and things to see
We had a fantastic day. Indra is an amazing guide. He is extremely knowledgeable and we learnt so much about Kyoto and Japan. This tour takes you to all the best places in Kyoto. Indra is very friendly and makes the day so much fun. He also knows the best photo spots. He takes only small groups which makes this tour even more special. We highly recommend this tour.
We enjoyed seeing the highlights of Kyoto with our guide Maureen! My partner and I ended up being only 2 on our tour with Maureen! She was helpful, cheerful and navigated the sites with ease! She also gave tips on where to take best pictures in areas and volunteered to take many photos of us! Great day!
From start to finish, Indra provided an unforgettable experience. From the bamboo forest to multiple temple we visited, Indra’s itinerary was amazing. The great conversations about his perspective and experience living in Japan were so helpful. Along the way, we encountered many tour guides and it wasn’t hard to notice how much better Indra was. Highly recommend!
Indra was warm and engaging from the first moment of the tour to the last! Truly a professional with many years of experience as a tour guide. He went above and beyond to show us many great Kyoto highlights, to share with us the best photo spots and insights of each location. The day really flew by. We went as a small group of 4, which kept it intimate. It was very interesting getting Indra’s very unique point of view as an expat who speaks Japanese and has lived here for several years. Absolutely worth the price and we would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see the major sites and get to know the city really well in a day. A tip in hindsight would to by a day pass for public transportation, as we used it a lot on the tour!
We had a fantastic day with Indra on this value packed small group tour. We had limited time in Kyoto, but this tour enabled us to see a lot of the key attractions in a short space of time. We learnt a lot about the history from Indra, our knowledgeable & entertaining guide. We also really enjoyed the thought-provoking conversations and insight into Japanese culture. Highly recommend this tour!
5 star rating for young Adella our guide Bright, charismatic, knowledgeable Adella imparted in great detail the history & customs of the areas visited. We had a pleasant trip & highly recommend どうもありがとう Peter & Sandra from Austr
Indra was my guide and exceeded my expectations. I am a woman traveling on my own and this was the best tour I had during my trip. He was thoughtful, informative and catered to my requests. I was lucky enough to be the only one on the tour that day. He took some great photos and was incredibly knowledgeable. 10/10.
I was the only participant on the tour that day. I had an experienced, knowledgeable guide who spoke not only the history but the rich Japanese culture. Having worked for a large Japanese company in North America I found info fascinating.
This experience was a lot of bang for you buck, we would have never been able to navigate to this many must see locations with out this tour due to our limited time in Kyoto. If you are like us with finite time and want to learn as much about Kyoto and the history of the attractions as you can, this tour is a MUST.
We had Maureen as our tour guide and she was incredible! Highly recommend her. We became close friends after just knowing her for a very short time.
Indra was absolutely fantastic. Full of knowledge from the Kyoto prefecture and we learnt so much from him it was great. We lived all of the places he took us and loved his energy and the love he has for the Japanese culture. He was easy to get along with and feel like I have made a friend on this tour. I hope he continues to do these tours as he has a gift of knowledge that needs to be shared with the world. We thank you so much for all the insights in japans history in Kyoto Indra hope to see you again one day
It was a wonderful experience! Indra is so knowledgeable and enthusiastic; I learned so much about Japan’s history and culture. I highly recommend!
Booked this for the one day I had in Kyoto as I wanted to ensure I could see as much as possible. They cancelled 11 hours before the meeting time. No time to book another tour, no explanation given. Avoid!
Indra was very informative and enthusiastic; he made each individual feel comfortable and explained what the attraction was and how it fitted into Japanese culture. I would recommend this trip and, especially Indra as a guide.
This was one of the best tours I have ever taken. It was a long tour with quite a bit of walking, but for a day tour we got so much in and our guide was amazing. Very good value for the price and you will certainly take in all the key sites in Kyoto and then some. I highly recommend this tour.
This was an incredibly informative and animated tour, covering a lot of the highlights of Kyoto and Japanese culture. Thoroughly enjoyable tour.
Loved this day! Very nice tour, interesting stops and lots of info from enthusiastic guide Indra. Small group which made it easy. Could not have done all this by myself on one day. Thank you for the nice day!
Definitely recommend this tour, specially with Indra who was our guide- amazing job! Very good knowledge about Japan and the places we visited, with a great sense of humor and fluent English.
Big thanks to our lovely guide Indra - we recommend booking this tour! Kyoto is very crowded because of the tourists and we couldn't imagine going to all the attractions without a guide. Really glad Indra was our guide for this trip, who did everything to make us feel great throughout the day, such a helpful and positive person. Places we got to see were great, but what made them excellent was the storytelling by Indra. If you'd like to take photos, Indra will show you great spots and take your pictures too. Otherwise we got to travel in a effective way and ate very delicious lunch together at a local restaurant. It's a lot of walking and standing so remember that you will get tired by the end of the day, but we really recommend this tour. After the tour we went right back to Osaka and ate okonomiyaki in a restaurant recommended by Indra - it was a perfect ending of the day!
We thoroughly enjoyed the full day trip at Kyoto. We had to make a few last-minute changes and the Tour operator was very accommodating. Our guide Toshi was really fantastic.
5/5 Rating Our tour guide Indra was amazing. He was very informative, and great at finding perfect spots for Instagram photo.
Indra was an amazing guide. He was very knowledgeable, extremely personable and accommodating to all the guests. My son and I had a very limited amount of time in Kyoto and Indra’s knowledge really made us feel like we got the most of the day. I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting!!
Our Tour guide Indra was amazing very above and beyond expectation not only did he give us the best information but also gave us in depth background interesting facts. We learnt so much from the day as well as having the best time. Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Our tour guide was amazing, he knew all the history and stories and spoke really good English. Also has a list of places that you can get really good pictures of landmarks
Indra was an amazing Guide. We started the tour with his friendly face and he was so informative about Japanese culture and all the aspects of the tour. I would definitely recommend him to anyone visiting Kyoto. A real credit to the tourism industry 😊😊😊😊😊 thanks a million Indra
Maureen was a wonderful tour guide. Warm, friendly, flexible and knowledgeable. We did things at our pace. She gave the story and the back story of sites we visited, including the cultural background. Highly recommended.
Indra our tour guide is most knowledgeable and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed the overview of the culturally rich city of Kyoto. The tour is relaxed yet covering many aspects of the rich culture and architecture of Kyoto city . We highly recommend this tour guide .

Great day with Indra seeing all hot spots. We had a lot of fun and he shared many insights with me. His English was perfectly understandable for me as a German.
Fabulous tour with much to learn. The tour stops were wonderful and took us all over the city. Our tour guide Indra gave us a wealth of information on Japanese culture, tradition, and history. He went to great lengths to ensure we had an A+ experience in Kyoto.
I cannot recommend this tour enough! The places we stopped by were gorgeous, and it was quite fun taking public transport and getting to see local life. I was very lucky to go during low season (February) so there weren't too many crowds, which made it quite enjoyable. I never felt rushed, and got to enjoy each site and also got to eat delicious food! Indra was an absolutely fantastic tour guide. I came away with so many tips and knowledge about Kyoto and Japanese culture, and even got some recommendations for the rest of my trip. Indra was very knowledgeable but also personable and so funny, he really made the tour such a memorable experience. If you're into nice pictures, Indra also knows where to take the best photos! As a solo traveler, I greatly appreciated this tour and the details Indra put into it. A fantastic day!
We had the best day with Indra seeing the most popular sites in Kyoto. He was so knowledgeable, fun and interesting to talk to. We learned so much. We got the history behind all of the places we visited and so much more. Lunch was great too. This was the perfect day with the perfect guide. We highly recommend this tour.
