Itinerary
20 minute's ride from Flagship. Our first stop is one of the must-see places in Kyoto, the popular Fushimi-Inari Shrine, which is best-known for the thousands of Tori Gates. We also make our way to see the hidden beauty of bamboo forests, which the most of the visitors are likely to overlook.
15 minute's ride from Fushimi-Irari Shrine. Next, we will go through Sanjusangendo Temple, which is famous for its 1001 statues of Kannon, the goddess of mercy, displayed inside the temple.
10 minute's ride from Sanjusandengo. Following the Shirakawa River, we will bike through the old backstreets that lead us to Miyagawa-cho and Tatsumi Bridge in Gion, the famous geisha district. It takes about 20 minutes to ride through the area.
15 minute's ride from the Gion District. Getting closer to the centre of Kyoto City, we will visit Nanzen-ji Temple, one of the most important Zen temples in Japan.
10 minute's ride from Nanzenji Temple. Our last stop is the popular Shinto shrine called "Heian-Jingu Shrine", which is known as a symbol of being the capital of Japan about 800 years ago.
10 minute's ride from Heian-Jingu Shrine. Lastly, we will make our way back following the Kamogawa River, probably the most famous river in Kyoto. It takes approximately 20 minutes to get back to our Flagship stop.

A really great and refreshing way to see a lot of different parts of the city. Katsu did a wonderful job of guiding us safely, and giving us some history at each stop. He was generous with his time and allowed us extra time to explore more of the path through the 10,000 gates.
the best way to cover the most ground! see neighborhoods you might otherwise miss. Kaz was a fantastic guide and we got plenty of exercise too! highly recommend - but be city bicycle ready!
The ebike trip guided by Karen was wonderful. You will be riding through the streets, so Caution is necessary. She took us to the river walk, and four other sites as listed. The trip was easy and casual. Karen was fabulous. I highly recommend.
Fantastic to bike around Kyoto! You avoid the crowds and really get a feel for the city. The bikes were great! The service from Eco Trips was very good. Easy to book on line. Quick reply
Our family of five (including three teens - 13, 17, 19) all loved this tour. Aki was a very knowledgeable guide and took many family photos of us at various stops. Our kids said this was their favorite activity in Kyoto!
What a great way to see Kyoto. Our guide Aki was very friendly and knowledgeable. He was also a great photographer. I highly recommend a bike tour to see Kyoto.
We really enjoyed our morning cycle ride with our guide. She took us along the quieter backstreets en route to our destinations. This was our first time riding in a city in Japan but we felt safe with our guide who went at a good pace for us and checked with us regularly. She also gave us good explanations at each stop and stopped at points of interest on the way. The e-bikes were easy to operate and comfortable to ride. A memorable experience!
I really enjoyed the ride and the beautiful scenery. My guide was very nice and paciente. Highly recommended
We had a fabulous time with Sato! She was so sweet and kind and gave us fantastic food recommendations for after our tour! The ride was well thought out to avoid as much pedestrian traffic as possible and still gave us great views and explanations. The bikes were more traditional style and not too bulky.
This tour was probably the highlight of our 2 week trip to Japan and we could not recommend it more. The weather wasn't ideal (chilly and mostly cloudy) but that did not detract from a wonderful experience. Aki was a fun, knowledgeable, and thoughtful guide (and great personal photographer!). We appreciated getting to some of the more popular stops early on so as to avoid the crowds. The ebikes made navigating a breeze, and made getting around an unfamiliar city less daunting. Highly recommend!!
Ru was a fantastic guide and the itinerary was perfect. A great morning exploring and learning about Kyoto! The e-bikes were top notch too.
Wonderful bike tour that took us to lovely sights around Kyoto. Our guide was very knowledgable about Kyoto. Really enjoyed riding the streets of Kyoto on excellent e-bikes.
We went cycling (3 people) on the 31st of May. Even though it was a bit rainy at the end, we had an amazing day! Our tour guide Ryuto was a very nice and knowledgeable guy. Any questions we had (and we asked a lot), he was able to answer or find out very quickly. He safely guided us through the streets of Kyoto and past the Kamo river and made this tour a lot of fun! It was not too difficult to cycle, but if your stamina isn't the greatest you can choose to ride an electric bike for a small fee. The company also provides you with water bottles and a raincoat in case of upcoming rain, which we greatly appreciated ;) It was a fun and unique way of exploring Kyoto, so I highly recommend taking this tour!
Amazing tour!! Ryuto taught us so much about Shinto, Buddhism, and the history of Kyoto!! The bike ride wasn’t too strenuous but there were some hills. If you’re looking for a tour with a great guide and lots of interesting information, this one’s for you!! 10/10 recommend.
We had booked a three and a half hour tour, which ended up lasting almost four and a half hours. Our guide was Riuto, an incredibly friendly and highly competent young English student from Kyoto. A great tour, would do it again anytime, especially with Riuto
This was fantastic! The tour is new (only opened a few months ago) and I was super impressed. Our guide Ryoto was the best. He was very knowledgeable and was excellent at navigating the city. This really was the best way to see the city
This is a new company that has just started doing bike tours. We booked with them as the other tour operators were fully booked. Without giving away any spoilers, we really enjoyed our pleasant half day excursion with them. The bikes are in good condition and cycling around Kyoto is easy as most of the cycling is on flat ground. You do have to be aware for cars and pedestrians. Our guide Aki was knowledgeable and friendly and his command of English is good. You get a chance to see parts of Kyoto that you would miss by train, and bus. We would recommend using them. PS: the bike rental has no restroom facilities at time of writing and so you'd want to come prepared.
This tour is an absolute GEM! They are a long-standing bike rental shop in Kyoto, and just launched their bike tours. Our tour guide was born and raised in Kyoto and very knowledgeable. He had great English, was well-prepared and answered all of our questions about Kyoto. He had a lot of inside, local-only knowledge on the area and temples - even some off the beaten trail, magical spots, like one in a bamboo forest, just steps away from a tourist area, that no one else knew about! He was very knowledgeable on history and culture and helped us understand local customs. He was very patient and easy going with the pacing of the tour and we were able to go as slow or as quickly as we wanted through several destinations. He also helped us take lots of photos! We covered a lot of ground and got to see so much of Kyoto in a short amount of time. Our tour guide also knew the best times to visit each spot and planned the tour accordingly so we were never in an overly-crowded area. They provided us with a water bottle in a bottle holder of the bike which came in very handy! The bikes were in perfect condition. The gears helped me speed through hills and peddle efficiently. There is a basket on the bike which is great for holding belongings while cycling. The location is only a few minutes walk from Kyoto Station which is very convenient. Everyone we met at the shop was so friendly and welcoming! We cannot thank you enough for this wonderful experience and I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Kyoto - especially if you want to see a lot, but not feel rushed, on a tight schedule! Special thanks to our great tour guide!!!
We cycled through Kyoto under the guidance of Ryuto for a morning. There was plenty of time to look around everywhere and the Guide knew extra about everything. Recommended!
