Great experience, the host Itsuki was fantastic and the Maiko San Ichi-Fuka was lovely. Had fun taking part in the game, enjoyed the refreshments. Would recommend this experience.

If you want to have a brief experience of life in the world of a Geiko/Maiko, this is an excellent show! One gets to see singing, dancing, a very fun game (that I was too nervous to play), and questions and answers with the Maiko. We really enjoyed ourselves, and while we wish it would be longer, it is also a good length for someone looking for a smattering of what that world is like.

Unique small intimate and informative and fits totally with Japanese culture. Anything larger would just miss the point and Q&A and game opportunities fabulous.

Was really excited to learn about this culture aspect of Japan and was unfortunately really disappointed. Basically 5 minutes of traditional dance and then a question section. There was any talk about the history of geisha so the questions asked were stuff like “what do you like to do for fun?” Those questions are somewhat interesting but would have been cool if she had talked a bit about the culture/lifestyle before that. Once the questions were done after 10 minutes random guests were selected to play the traditional cup game. It was cool watching but after 10 minutes we then got to take photos and were shuffled out. I left not really knowing that much more about the lifestyle or culture.

The show was short but very informative. The meiko was very elegant and professional. We enjoyed the whole experience very much.

Insipid experience with very limited demonstration of the art of entertainment by Geikos. A couple of short songs and an interactive game with a sweet young Maiko, and just a casually served tea with a matcha pie rather than even a pretence of the tea ceremony mentioned in the promo. Not really value for money.

Decided to book this last minute as I was on a solo trip through Japan (and during my Kyoto leg of the trip). I've always wanted to see a Geisha show and this was the perfect example of that. The performance by Geiko-san (Fujichiyo-san) was amazing and the Q&A session was also excellent. The entire session was hosted by the lovely informative and helpful Mizuki. I would have shared more photos but we were asked not to publish them online in order to protect Geiko-san's identity (which is honestly fair enough). I would definitely recommend checking out this show during your visit to Kyoto and around the Gion region, it's a fantastic performance and the Q&A session is excellent. I even had the opportunity to play a drinking game with Geiko-san (and lost fairly quickly too). It was all around an amazing experience and I highly highly recommend checking it out during your trip!

Well worth the money to experience a rare hour with a very talented and charming young Maiko-San. We so enjoyed seeing her entertain the group with her game and dances and the chance to ask her questions and take pictures of and with her made the time a treasure.

Such an amazing educational experience! We got to see a lovely performance and ask questions. After seeing westernized versions of what Geishas do, it was a great to understand the true history and what a modern day to day experience is.

At first impression it looked like a typical tourist gig - put many together in a room in front of a stage and have a Meiko-San give a show. Except that nothing about Geiko- and Meiko-culture is staged. The Geikos and Meikos performing are highly skilled and extremely well educated professionals that preserve and evolve this part of (still comparatively young) Japanese culture When our Meiko-San entered the room her grace and tenure radiated through the room and us - her aura was almost palpable. Even the smallest movement is fully controlled and purposefully done. They are the living embodiment of why Japanese society has not only survived drastic crisis and rebirths multiple times, but thrives without cutting its roots. This experience is highly recommended - let yourself be taken away.. IMPORTANT NOTICE: If you see a Geiko- or Meiko-San on the streets of Kyoto, enjoy the sight and DO NOT - REPEAT - DO NOT take any photo or video!! This was a great learning experience! Amazing experience

So very glad we signed up to do this tour and especially right before our walking tour of the Gion area. We learned so much from our guide/translator Shin as he hosted the Q & A from our Maiko-San. She was delightful to watch and talk to and to be able to film her and take pictures with her made this worth every penny. After watching her perform her 2 dances I have tremendous respect for her profession and sincerely hope that more girls like her will keep this art and culture alive.

We really enjoyed the tour. It was very interesting to learn about the life if Meiko. Our tour guide was very good.

We enjoyed this show and learning about the Maiko and Geiko in Kyoto. I now have a better understanding of the profession. The host/translator was very thorough and interesting. The Q & A afterwards was helpful and important. The snacks were a nice touch. The setting felt very staged and plastic, compared to the beauty of the Maiko and her dances. It gave an uncomfortable feeling, highlighting the business aspect rather than art form. However, I need to say that the cost was too expensive for an hour! I've paid less for a Broadway show in NYC.

This experience was absolutely amazing! I wasn't sure what to expect going into it but it was so intimate. The guide, Shin, did a great job of explaining everything in the itinerary and giving us some background on the etiquette and cultural history when interacting with Geiko/Maiko. Maiko-san was so warm and great to interact with. We got to ask questions, take photos/video, and even play a game with Maiko-san! All in all it was a 10/10 experience!

We’re glad we did this 1-hour Geisha (Geiko) experience. It started at 6 pm and included a drink (tea or water) plus a snack. The show began with an introductory speech, followed by two songs by the Geiko-san that lasted about 10 minutes (they explain why during the show). After that, there was a Q&A session, a traditional Japanese game with the Geiko-san, and a photo opportunity. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and want to give a big thank you to our Geiko-san and our lead guide, Shin, for doing a wonderful job and making it memorable! I highly recommend this while you’re in Kyoto.

The best experience I have had in Japan! Maiko was amazing and playing the game was a lot of fun (Despite me losing) The Q&A was very informative I certainly learnt a lot about the life of Geisha and Meiko. We went to the nearby shrine where we took pictures with Meiko.

Great show, the Maikao was very beautiful, gracefully everything you expect in a Maikao. The announcer hadcexcellent command of English which madevthevshowvasvhecwasxable to interpret the questions and answers from the Maiko, playing games and learning about her craft was a fascinating experience. The two young men were so friendly and helpful, they helped make the show.

This was truly an amazing and unique experience! The one-hour geisha show was absolutely beautiful and gave us such a special glimpse into traditional Japanese culture and entertainment. The performance was elegant, captivating, and incredibly well done. We loved getting to experience something that felt so authentic and different from anything we’ve ever done before. Was not sure about this tour but it turned out to be excellent and was just what we were looking for. The tour provided a short Geisha performance at a tea house and was so unique because the experience provided an opportunity to do a Q&A with the geisha to understand the geisha culture. Then we walked to nearby temple with the geisha to learn more about the culture and history. It was the perfect tour and the right length.
