Everything is great, the staff was very helpful throughout our stay. However, by the time we check-out and requested a taxi, the staff did not tell us calling a taxi through them
requires additional 500 yen charge. We would have just get our own cab on the street if we know about this. The taxi they booked for us is far below standard: 1. Almost has no AC so the ride was very hot the whole time (defeating the purpose of taking a cab under 38 degrees in the first place); 2. one of our brand new luggage handles was being heavily scratched when the driver secured it with a rope, which isnβt necessary at all). I know this review is for the hotel, but this experience at the finishing line was very disappointing.
We had a wonderful stay at The Royal Park Hotel Iconic Kyoto. During our trip, we also stayed at another hotel from the same chain in Osaka, and the room there was noticeably smaller. The room in Kyoto felt much more spacious and comfortable, which made our stay even more enjoyable.
The location is excellent, making it easy to explore the city. The staff were extremely friendly, professional, and always happy to help with any request.
We also really enjoyed the lounge, which was a great place to relax after a day of sightseeing. The atmosphere throughout the hotel felt calm, elegant, and welcoming.
Overall, a fantastic hotel experience in Kyoto. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city. π―π΅β¨π¨
We stayed at this hotel in Kyoto during our honeymoon with our 3-year-old daughter, in a Standard Double Room.
The room was beautiful, clean, modern, and well maintained. We also appreciated the daily housekeeping service, including fresh towels and replacement amenities. The Nespresso machine in the room was a nice touch and very welcome.
The hotel itself is modern and offers many useful services. The staff were attentive, friendly, and always willing to help. A special mention goes to the breakfast room manager, who was particularly kind and professional throughout our stay.
We also enjoyed the traditional public bath inside the hotel, which was included and added an authentic Japanese experience to our visit.
The only disappointment was that our room faced an internal wall, with a window looking directly onto a white wall and no view at all. Since we were on our honeymoon, we had hoped for something a little more special, and it seemed that this occasion may not have been taken into consideration.
Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would recommend this hotel. However, we suggest paying close attention to the room type and view when making a reservation to ensure the experience best matches your expectations.
Absolutely great hotel. The room was very spacious, the bath was excellent and the amenities provident were next level - they even replaced the bath salts every day. There was a good selection of tea and coffee in the room, but what was really special were the drinks in the lobby. In the afternoon they served little cakes and you could have everything from tea to iced coffee and juice, and in the evening they had little savoury dishes and selection of free alcoholic drinks - sake, beer, gin - you name it. It felt really special. The location was near metro and very convenient, it was easy to walk to most places. It is fairly big hotel but it felt quiet and we had no issues with lifts being too busy. Washing machines were available.
The lobby was beautiful and the small cafe-bakery is outstanding. The staff at the front desk were very helpful and kind.
The rooms vary a lot, we got an upgrade because in the first one there was no space for the luggage,but if you have very little luggage or are one person thats a good room.
Our upgrade was around 50$ per night but it was much more comfortable. The bathroom has these sliding doors that make the room feel much bigger. The view was very nice of the open avenue and the windows took up most on the wall.
Would recommend and would come here again!
