Very friendly and professional staff. The concierge team helped us personalize our stay in Kyoto, including arranging a private driver for a wonderful day trip to Uji and Wazuka. Sustainability and eco-consciousness are thoughtfully incorporated throughout the hotel, which we really appreciated. A special mention goes to Saki, the Kids Club team leader, who was absolutely incredible—our kids adored her and had such a lovely time. The breakfast buffet has a beautiful, fresh and zen atmosphere, and the rooms are modern, spotless and designed in calming earth tones that create a wonderful sense of tranquility. The bar is also excellent, with the opportunity to sample a selection of Japanese whiskies. Overall, a beautiful and peaceful hotel with thoughtful service and a strong focus on sustainability. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

- Unfortunately breakfast not good at all. Most of the things is cold temperatures. A la cart menu also not delicious and presentation of meal very low standard. I like only beverages, specially matcha and coffee, foreigner guy make it perfect. - disappointed of food at main restaurant for dinner because is not delicious at all. Steak was overcooked, fish was overcooked. - Gym a bit too small and no windows make this space even smaller and uncomfortable .. What i like : 👍🏼 👍🏼Spa is amazing. Massage skills is very high standard. Hot pool and sauna very relaxing. One of the best in kyoto among lux hotels 👍🏼 Room is actually big and very smart organized. On the photos rooms are looks worse . 👍🏼 Check in and all reception staff are amazing and detailed attentive 👍🏼 very clever and smart space organizing, and all interior details is make sense 👍🏼 Good energy at hotel .
We stayed here in the early spring and the staff are incredible. Extremely welcoming. The hotel is very zen, food is fantastic (especially room service) and the rooms are phenomenal. We had a courtyard view room and loved the property. It’s a very central location and easy to navigate Kyoto from there! The spa is the highlight of property. Very much recommend.
My wife and I stayed two nights at Six Senses from Feb. 16 until the 18th, 2026. It was our 15th anniversary and the hotel staff provided two really nice hand written anniversary cards. Additionally, we were upgraded to a larger room with great views of Kyoto’s skyline and nearby mountains. From the bed to the amenities everything was top notch, and very enjoyable. All the staff were exceptionally well trained. Also, the hotel was located fairly close to several interesting places within easy walking distance. Staying at Six Senses truly met my expectations. However, there are two small aspects that perhaps could have been improved. First was breakfast, which I ordered an omelet with vegetables on our second day. It came plated more akin to haulte cuisine rather than a hearty breakfast plate. The omelet was ok, but I’d ordered it with cheese which didn’t seem to make into the omelet, and the potatoes and veggies amounted to one very small sliced potato and a nano-sized small piece of broccoli. I definitely was in no danger of gaining weight from that breakfast. Secondly, I was sent a questionnaire by Six Senses, and because I stay an additional 10 days traveling and skiing in Japan, I wasn’t able to complete it. My wife and I run a boutique resort in Bali, and once we returned the work load was a bit overwhelming. So, today when I went to fill in the questionnaire a message said it was too late. Really? There’s a time limit less than one month to provide feedback?
a gem in kyoto, perfect location in all climates (you will be grateful for the porte-cochère) from the moment the wafts of incense meet you on arrival, it is a cocoon of beauty, serenity and peace - every detail for every sense considered. Centered around a courtyard garden oasis, the hotel integrates tradition with every modern comfort. Sensational bathroom and wardrobe areas, best house slippers ever, exquisite in room tea service, state-of-the-art lighting, blinds, taps, toilets, locks, lifts, superb linen, and OH THE STAFF Especially Yuri and Jan! there is something about the hospitality here, deeply personalized, attentive and not overbearing… the breakfast is a symphony of east and west (try the soy apple yoghurt, exquisite tofu, the pickles of every kind, smoked trout and most colour vision organic eggs), sitting on indigo designed banquettes by BLINK design group (wow). I also love the daily classes, a wellness program and even sound bath. Please try and have a yoga class - japanese style really stimulates meridians. The onsen is serene with exceptional sauna and steam facilities. It was an utter pleasure to experience this hotel and the divine local area including Sanjusangendomawari astonishing archery temple, the potter Kawai Kanjiro’s astonishing house, one of my favorite ever cafes Ichikawaya Coffee and for late night r and b and ebisu gin Record Bar Yamada. just wow
