This is a very conveniently located hotel that wonderfully represents the Mercure brand in the city centre, right next to Kyoto Main Station and the Nidec Tower. The staff was beyond polite and helpful. The decor is wild in the best sense of the word: imagine soft cyberpunk meeting a Japanese take on the western film genre. The room we had (Privilege Room with Two Single Beds and a Bath Tub) was rather spacious with decent furniture, incredibly comfortable mattresses, nice bathroom, and all the amenities you might need. The hotel is also definitely a great choice for those who arrive to Kyoto late on the train as you can reach it in less than 10 minutes on foot. I recommend it!

I booked the Mercure Kyoto Station for my second trip to the Kansai region, and it was my first time staying this hotel. The location is also excellent, with incredibly easy access to both Kyoto Station and nearby convenience stores. Unlike most Japanese hotels known for their small size, this hotel offers incredibly spacious rooms at a very reasonable price. I stayed alone, but it is definitely roomy enough for two people. I was highly satisfied! The room amenities were well-equipped, and the bedding was extremely plush, allowing me to get a great night's sleep. Additionally, the B1 guest lounge and the restaurant(1F) interior felt very luxurious. The friendliness of the hotel staff made my stay even more enjoyable. A special thank you to the Korean receptionist who helped me during check-in and check-out! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to Kyoto. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit!
A clean and comfortable stay at Mercure Kyoto Station. The hotel was well maintained, the staff were professional and welcoming, and the lobby had a fresh, clean smell when you walked in. One thing to be aware of is that despite the name, the hotel is not directly next to Kyoto Station. It is around a 10 minute walk, which is still very convenient, but with luggage or heavy bags it can feel a little further than expected. Overall, a great hotel with good service and a pleasant atmosphere.
This hotel looks and feels luxurious. The rooms and public areas have a fresh, modern Japanese design that’s really appealing. The location is good particularly as there’s city buses just outside the restaurant to take you to Kyoto Station and other places of interest. Our room on the 10th floor was very comfortable and spacious with a view to the Kyoto Tower. We enjoyed coming back after a day of exploring. The food at the restaurant is really good and reasonably priced. Unfortunately the service, while friendly, is a little hit and miss. Overall though we had a wonderful 5 night stay and would recommend this hotel.
We travelled with a group of friends to Kyoto. The beautiful design of the hotel is incredible. The hotel is in a great location for going anywhere on the train. The room was lovely and comfortable - Great beds - spotless cleaning and comfortable. A highlight was the amazing meals we had in the restaurant - we ate twice it was so good - Italian pizzas and pastas -exceptional highly recommend for a change from Japanese meals. Breakfast also has a huge array for everyone.
