Our family of 4 stayed 5 nights here, and it was perfect. The apartment-style room created a peaceful atmosphere to return to after a long hot day of sightseeing. The room provided every imaginable amenity (except an iron, I couldn’t find one of those), including kitchenware, a washer/dryer, and all the toiletries you could think of. The hotel was quiet, situated in a perfect location (close to shrines without being in the middle of everything), and the staff was helpful and welcoming. Lastly, the bath/shower was the absolute best.
A very comfortable hotel. Having spent 3 weeks touring Japan it was great to get a very comfortable, very good sized room with plenty of space to spread out, relax and do some washing using the in room washing machine. More like an apartment than a hotel room.

Located right on the edge of the temple area, spent 3 hours just walking around and enjoying the majestic and tranquil sites … shame there wasn’t less tourists and wasn’t a bit cooler but loved it.
Our family of four greatly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Mastay. Fairly spacious room with four beds and nice amenities like a washer/dryer. Great location that is close enough for walking distance to places like Teramachi and also close to a train station for farther journeys. But it is far enough away that there is not a whole lot of city noise in the hotel. Very helpful and friendly staff. Highly recommended.
Spacious room, very clean and comfortable, felt really safe. Very close to main touristy spots, but still away enough to remain quiet at night.
Quite pricey though.
Would recommend some international tv channels, some food options / take out / recommendations as the hotel doesn't have a restaurant.
There is free coffee available, a washing machine, a bathtub and they even offer pyjamas 😁 nice perks.
Absolutely exceptional! The room was amazing, there was a water bottle for each person for each day. It is like an apartment, very spacious and light music in the hallway (when you get out of the room). No keys, which you could use, but a code for the door.
The location is amazing, you can reach gion by foot and the subway is very close.
And the staff! The staff was so friendly all the time, we really enjoyed it here. If we ever come back to Kyoto, we would definitely book this hotel.
