We had a wonderful stay at Fauchon Hotel Kyoto and would gladly return. The room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. We especially loved the complimentary cookies and snacks, which were a thoughtful touch and something our family looked forward to every day. What truly made our stay exceptional, however, was the hotel staff. Everyone was warm, welcoming, and genuinely eager to help. We would especially like to recognize Ms. Nanami Hara, who went above and beyond to make our trip memorable. She truly embodies the spirit of Japanese hospitality. She was always incredibly friendly and kind, greeting us with a genuine, warm smile that made us feel welcome every time we saw her. When we realized we had left our laptop at Osaka Airport, Ms. Hara immediately helped us contact the airport and guided us through the process. She also provided excellent recommendations for restaurants and sightseeing, making our time in Kyoto even more enjoyable. One gesture that especially touched us was that Ms. Hara wrote us a personal handwritten note thanking us for staying at the hotel. It was such a thoughtful and heartfelt gesture that made us feel truly valued as guests. Her kindness, professionalism, positive attitude, and genuine care left a lasting impression on our family. The hotel’s location is another major advantage. It is within about a 10-minute walk of the main shopping district and convenient train stations with easy access to Osaka and walking distance to Kiyomizu. There is also a wonderful local store nearby where we enjoyed some incredibly sweet, juicy seasonal peaches—one of the highlights of our visit. The room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. We also loved the complimentary cookies and snacks that were replenished daily. As an American Express Fine Hotels + Resorts guest, we appreciated being able to use the included $100 property credit at the hotel’s gift shop, where we purchased some of Fauchon’s excellent tea to bring home. Overall, this was an outstanding experience. Between the beautiful rooms, thoughtful amenities, outstanding service, and convenient location, Fauchon Hotel Kyoto exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto. Thank you to Ms. Nanami Hara and the entire Fauchon Hotel Kyoto team for making our stay so memorable.
Words can’t begin to describe how much my family and I loved staying at Fauchon Kyoto. Every aspect of our time there, from the expected to the unexpected, showcased the beauty, elegance, attention to detail, and above all impeccable service that every hotel should strive for. Every interaction we had with the staff showcased their patience, kindness, and genuine interest in our wellbeing. Even with a family of six—including small children—the staff made sure that our time at the hotel was a breeze. The rooms are stylish and spacious. The amenities are first class—all of the restaurants, the in-room dining, and the spa each were exceptional. The hotel itself is located in a wonderful part of Kyoto. I highly recommend taking an evening stroll to Pontocho Alley for dinner. The restaurants, as well as the lantern-lit alley itself, will be one of the most memorable parts of your journey. In general, Kyoto is a wonderful place to visit, and in particular, the Fauchon hotel is an exceptional place to stay.
My stay at Hotel Fauchon Tokyo was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, the service was warm, attentive, and truly world-class. Every detail felt thoughtfully curated, and the staff made me feel genuinely welcome throughout my stay. A special thank you to Nana, whose kindness and professionalism stood out and made the experience even more memorable. It’s rare to encounter such a perfect balance of elegance and heartfelt hospitality. The breakfast was absolutely one of a kind—beautifully presented, refined, and delicious. It was easily one of the highlights of each morning. I also had the pleasure of experiencing a massage at the Fauchon Spa with Erika, which was outstanding. Her technique, attention to detail, and calming presence created a truly relaxing and rejuvenating experience. Hotel Fauchon Tokyo delivers not just luxury, but a sense of care and personalization that sets it apart. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Tokyo and will absolutely return.
This was the hidden gem on my trip to Japan. I didn't have high expectations for this hotel after being in the Ritz and FS, but this is a great boutique hotel in the heart of Kyoto. The location is perfect and within walking distance of so many activities. The staff are super helpful and friendly. The patasserie they have on site is a great place for coffee and some pastries. The macarons are great, the same my wife got in Paris. Breakfast was really good. The japanese set breakfast was wonderful, especially the miso salmon. When I go to Kyoto again, i will definitely be back.
