Daniel was our guide. He was on time and met us as indicated at the cruise port in his communications. The minivan was spacious for the 8 of us and had great AC and Daniel had a good microphone which allowed all of us in the back to hear perfectly. Saw all main highlights of Bonaire and Then he dropped us off on time at the port.

Itinerary
Here we will start our tours when you arrive by cruise ship. We will meet you 15 minutes before your tour departure time to ensure we start our tours on time. When you exit your ship, please walk to the security gate (there will be only one security gate) and look straight ahead, where you will see a sign saying INTERNET BOOKING. We will be standing there with your name on paper. If you are from a Hotel or Apartment, we will pick you up at your apartment or in the lobby at your hotel.
We will give you a city/town tour through downtown Kaya Grandi. Kaya Grandi is the Main Street, where all the shops/restaurants and ice cream shops are in Kralendijk. After the tour, you can feel free to be dropped off in Kralendijk, where you will be able to do some shopping and walk around. If you are from the ship, Kralendijk is only a 5 or 1 min walk away from your ship where the cruise ship ports are.
That is where we have boats coming in for shelter when big waves come toward the Island.
You will be able to take a nice picture of the wonders of the sea. That is going to be a pleasant surprise for you.
We will be driving through a neighbourhood called Hato, where most hotels are situated.
Here you will see the most affluent part of the Island, and your tour guide will share with you why the rich people are coming to Bonaire.
Here you can get off the vehicle, walk around, and take pictures of the beautiful scenery of the clear blue ocean. If you don't want to walk down to the beach because of the Steps, that is no problem. You can stay at the top and enjoy the beautiful view
From a distance, you will see the beautiful scenery from where the water level was many years ago and one of the best Diving spots on the island.
Here we will share the history of when the enslaved people were living on Bonaire, and you will see the building where the women and the children were staying during the week while the man continued going to the south side of the Island.
Your tour guide will share and show you some of our oil tanks and why we have them here on Bonaire.
Here you see the beautiful scenery of the flamingo in the background and the tallest hill on the island called Brandaris. Here you will not get out of the car since it is a reserved area for the flamingoes, and we are not allowed to let our guests get out of the vehicle, but you will be able to take pictures of the Flamingoes while your tour guide is driving. Depending on the day, you will see the flamingoes very close up; sometimes, they are far away.
Rincon is the oldest town on the Island, where everything started many years ago. You will still see the oldest buildings on the Island and the lovely scenery of why Rincon was chosen many years ago when Bonaire was discovered.
Here you will see the splashing waves hitting the cliffs on the coastline with sometimes a lot of donkeys walking around until we reach downtown. We will also be passing right next to Bonaire Landsailing, where you can see people sailing on land.
We will be going up to a hill where you will be able to see Bonaire from above.
That is the second old neighbourhood on the Island where the Indians have moved.
That is the largest neighbourhood in Bonaire.
Here your guide will tell you more about the inter Bonaire main street.
Here you will see our pink airport, and we will share about tourism and flight arriving and departing from Bonaire.
Te Amo Beach, meaning "I Love You" Beach, is a beautiful public spot near Bonaire's airport. It has a tranquil and sandy shoreline with easy access to the water.
That is a lovely beach where Locals spend their time together on holidays, and it is also suitable for snorkelling and diving.
That is Local Beach with very clear water.
That is a fast-growing neighbourhood on the Island.
That is a new resort with a lovely pool where you can sit and order your food from within the pool.
That is one of the ancient lighthouses on Bonaire with great history.
That is ship wrack, a famous spot for divers.
We will stop at the pink water and the salt mountains so you can walk around and take pictures. That is the most beautiful stop on the Island because on your right-hand side, you will see the two blue colours of the ocean, and on your left-hand side, you will see the pink water with the white foam on the ground coming out from the salt water.
Here you will see the Slaves Huts, where you will be able to experience how the enslaved people were working on the Island and where they were sleeping during the week. We'll be taking some time talking about the corals. That is the last stop, and from here, we will drive you back to the ship. That is a great time to ask still questions you may have to your tour guide. Please note that we will have everyone from the cruise ship back to the terminal 1 hour before the ship's departure time.

Renny was excellent! Took us too so many places and gave detailed info…thank you!
Renny was a nice and funny guy who showed us the sides of Bonaire we didn’t even know of. Besides of the views and beautiful things he showed us, he also learned us a lot about the history and culture.
Absolutely wonderful! Renny was the perfect guide - so knowledgeable and friendly! We learned about the history and wildlife and the sites were spectacular - one of the best tours I’ve ever had - highly recommend.
Phenomenal tour! Our guide Renny was fantastic - so knowledgeable and friendly! We toured the whole island and learned so much about the wildlife and history. Highly recommend!
Excellent! Highly recommend
I had a fantastic experience on the Private North & South Tour in Bonaire with Shekinah Tours, guided by Nicoline. In just 3 hours, we were able to explore so many beautiful and unique spots across the island without ever feeling rushed. Nicoline was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about Bonaire. She shared interesting local history, culture, and hidden gems that I wouldn’t have discovered on my own. The personalized nature of the tour made it feel relaxed and tailored to our interests, which I really appreciated. The north offered stunning rugged landscapes and dramatic coastlines, while the south impressed with its serene salt flats. We even saw flamingos, birds, donkeys, and goats along the way, which made the experience even more special. Definitely worth it. If you’re looking for a short but enriching way to see the highlights of Bonaire with a local touch, I highly recommend this tour. It was well-organized, insightful, and memorable from start to finish.
With a personal guide we covered more of the island than group tours and were able to tailor it to be exactly what we wanted.
Renny was very knowledgeable and spent a great deal of time explaining the history, culture, local folklore and interesting facts about Bonaire, the places we visited as well as the flora and fauna!
Marjolien was a wonderful tour guide. Very knowledgeable and pleasant. You cannot go wrong.
Had our 3 generation family of 5 for this trip. It was a perfect blend of views and facts from within the vehicle to getting out to see and explore stops. Renny was great with all of us Renny
It was informative, and great to see lots of parts of the island, but we didn't stop at some of the places we expected like the distillery or the beaches. Hard to take pics when it's just a drive by and no windows down. We were able to ask lots of questions and got dropped at a shopping area after the tour, but would have loved a slower pace and being able to make the planned stops we expected.
Janise was very friendly and knowledgable. She answered our many questions with a smile. Provided a step stool when she saw our need.
The tour was excellent and the guide was very knowledgable. BUT, the tour was scheduled for 8:30 am and no one showed up (we waited until 9:15). After we walked back to the ship, we sent an email to the operator and they responded with an apology and said they had erroneously put it down for 12:00 noon.
This was an absolute amazing tour. Renny took us all over the island and had great knowledge of everything. He was very enthusiastic and had some great jokes. We are called we got to spend our day with Renny.
KayKay did a great job showing us around Bonaire! We loved learning about the island and seeing all the sights!
I booked this private Bonaire tour through Viator, so I expected the description posted on Viator. My husband and I experienced the tour the morning of 2/2/26. Viator said our guide would be a "Long-Time Bonaire Resident" our guide was Romanian and had been on Bonaire for 3 years. He was pleasant enough but did not know many things about Bonaire--and did not seem motivated to learn more, his response was often " no one asked me that before". He was not able to identify any plants or animals except the flamingoes , caracara, what he called the "mickey mouse cactus" and i forget what he called the "tall" cactus. The Viator Itinerary said we would see "Trans World Radio Bonaire (TWR) (Pass By) You will be able to take a nice picture of the wonders of the sea. That is going to be a pleasant surprise for you." When I asked about the mural on the side of the radio station he showed me a small one and said that was the only one. We had to stop at the Tourism Corporation downtown and get a map to show him how to get to the HUGE mural to which I was referring. The Viator itinerary said "The Cadushy Distillery Here you will see how they make liquor and spirits from local cactus, and you can have a complimentary tasting" We did not go because our guide said there was bad blood between his tour company and the Distillery because one of the distillery employees broke their contract to instead work for the tour company so as a result the tour company was no longer allowed to bring guests for visits or tastings. Our guide said the tour company used to drop guests off around the corner, but then the owner of the distillery found out they were doing that and chased out the guests rudely calling them and the tour company names. Our guide offered to drop us off around the corner, but I did not want to be embarrassed and thrown out of an establishment in a foreign country, so i declined. Our guide ASSURED us that there were no signs that said "Bonaire" aside from the bamboo sign that was on our resort property. I've since come to find out now that I am back home that there IS a large "Bonaire" sign at Isidel Beach Park. The Viator itinerary said we would visit "Te Amo Beach meaning "I Love You" Beach, is a beautiful public spot near Bonaire's airport. It has a tranquil and sandy shoreline with easy access to the water."--that didn't happen. Neither did the visit or pass by "Donkey Beach (Pass By)That is a lovely beach where Locals spend their time together on holidays, and it is also suitable for snorkelling and diving" or "Bachelor's Beach That is Local Beach with very clear water." We did not see the Viator Itinerary stop "Hilma Hooker That is ship wrack, a famous spot for divers."--which would have been cool to see since I am a certified diver. We did not go to the "Punt Vierkant" lighthouse because he said it was not a "real" lighthouse that had a light on top which guided ships at sea. When I asked about these missed destinations, our guide vehemently assured me that these were not on the itinerary as he was the one that updated the website himself!! I do not know if his company also has a website with a different itinerary, but when I got back to the WiFi at my hotel, I found the Viator listing and saw that these things were--and still are as of 2/25/26--listed on the Viator website. This was the ONLY experience that we booked outside of our stay at the resort. It was suggested that I just rent a car and drive myself, but I wanted an "experienced Bonaire resident" to share their island with me. that was NOT what I got, and I am mad that I even gave him a monetary tip. I guess I was still believing much of what he said.
This provider was exceptional! Mar was so easy to work with and knew so much about the island. He was the perfect guide for a couple that doesn't like to travel the beaten path.
Miguel was fantastic! Very personable and knowledgeable. We enjoyed seeing the full city, the 1,000 steps beach, lake Goto & the flamingos, the salt pier and the random wild donkeys.
Daniel was great! He knows the island very well. I truly enjoyed the tour and beautiful island. The vehicle and tour stops were excellent.
Our guide arrived promptly to begin our island tour. Daniel was very knowledgeable about Bonaire and we were able to see the natural habitat of flamingos, donkeys, sea turtles, and many birds. Some cats too! The salt flats were amazing, with white foam floating in the air! Seeing the slave huts near the salt flats and hearing about their life was both educational and emotional. Traveling to the higher area of the island gave us a fabulous view! I would highly recommend this tour.
We had an amazing tour with Daniel! He was a great tour guide. Pickup was on time and right at the port. We hit all of important spots and learned a lot of history. We lucked into seeing lots of parrots! Also saw wild Flamingoes, goats, cats, roosters, donkeys, sea turtle, pelican and a peacock! Loved the pink salt fields and the gift at the end of the tour. Highly recommend this tour with Daniel as your guide!
This was such a great tour. It was only the 4 of us on a mini van. Our guide Rasine was wonderful. She taught us a lot about the island. I would highly recommend this tour. Rasine was very friendly.
This tour included all the sights we wanted to see and our tour guide was so knowledgeable about the history of Bonaire. Absolutely loved this tour and would highly recommend especially for families with kids who want to see the island in the AC!
We were very disappointed with this experience. First, the guides showed up 20 minutes late to our meeting spot. We had arrived early and waited, watching other guides from the same company come and go with their guests, which made us feel forgotten. I had booked this private tour months in advance, expecting a personalized and informative experience. When we finally met our “guides,” we learned they were the owner or manager’s parents. While they were kind, it quickly became clear they were not professional tour guides. The experience felt more like a taxi service than a tour—there was very little information shared about Bonaire, and most of their conversation was between themselves. At two of the stops, we were left waiting in the car for over five minutes while our driver chatted with other guides. With only one day in Bonaire, every moment counts, and this felt like a waste of our limited time. To top it off, we even dropped his wife off at their home on the way back to the ship. While the couple was very sweet, this was not the informative, engaging private tour we paid for. We specifically book private tours to learn about the history and culture of the places we visit, and unfortunately, this fell far short of expectations.
Had a wonderful trip with Resine. What a super fun and knowledgeable guide. Request her if you can! We will definitely be back for other trips with Shekhinah Tours!
Tour guide MAR was friendly, funny and very informative. The tour touched to the key points of Bonaire and MAR made sure it was enjoyable from the pickup to drop off. Definitely recommend.
Our tour guide Angie was kind and pleasant. She was knowledgeable about Bonaire. She took us around the island and showed us the main attractions.
If you're looking for a private tour, I highly recommend this one. The guide was professional, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. Since it's a private tour, there's also some flexibility to customize the schedule, which was a great bonus.
Miguel was knowledgeable and very personable! It felt like we were hanging out with family for the day! I would recommend him and this tour 10/10
First off, there was an hour delay in being picked up from the cruise port pier. There needs to be specific directions on where the tour guide will meet you and pick you up. We waited an hour, going off and on the ship to use wifi calling to call the manager in charge of this tour. We literally had to threaten him with canceling our tour and demanding refund in order for him to take us seriously. Our first tour guide bailed and the second one finally arrived. His name was Salix, he was such a great guide and very knowledgeable about the island. He took the time to stop and take photos of us whenever we saw a cool site along with the set in tour stops.
This is a great way to see Bonaire in just a few hours. Our guide Nicoline was wonderful - an on time pickup at our cruise ship and getting us back on time was essential. Friendly, knowledgeable and she made sure we saw all the top spots near Kralendijk.
Operator never showed up and no one contacted us. The worst is that no one advised us that the operator did not go to work thecday of our Bonaire private tour. Finally some one from another tour saw our situation and made some calls and found out about the operator operator no show. The Viator ticket was saved to my photos but no telephone or email address on ticket When I got back to ship I was able to get Viator phone and spoke to agent and get our fee of 228 refund.
A very interesting tour without any rushing. Our guide, Angie, was knowledgeable and answered our questions with pleasure.
Elgin was our tour guide for this North South private tour of Bonaire. He picked us up from the cruise ship as arranged via the app. He is a local man with in-depth knowledge of the history and culture of Bonaire. We had a great time and felt we truly got to know the island and its people in a short amount of time. The tour was 3hrs but he threw in an extra 30 min to show us another area. The ship (RCI) only in Bonaire until 1pm. So we had to pick an excursion that immersed us rather quickly which of course Viator did. Elgin was a wealth of knowledge and answered all our questions. It was the perfect experience.
We loved Mar and his detailed descriptions of the island and its history. We saw many different species of wild life in this small oasis. We were here over a year ago and decided to share this experience with our friends Everyone loved the experience.
Awesome day! Learned so much about the island and its culture, we saw many places on the tour. Tried some cactus alcohol.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and patient with us. We got to see everything from North to South. He let us spend as much time as we wanted at each stop, and also stopped along the way so I could take pictures of the beautiful landscapes.
William did a great job showing us Bonaire. He had a nice van. We feel like we saw everything and he gave great narration. Would highly recommend this excursion.
Driver did not show up. We were at the meeting place 15 minutes early and waited 30 minutes past 12;00 ( out at meeting time) . We called the # on the van paperwork. We were told someone was coming. No one came. We had to go with another taxi. We are very very unhappy and expect a full refund. I had a phone message at 12:33 from the driver looking for me but we had just left. Get people to work ch or you that arrive on time!
Very informative and were able to stop at several locations where other tours did not. Our guide Renny talked a lot about the local life. Loved the individual attention this tour provides. Avoided a lot of crowds.
The provider never showed up. We tried calling numerous times and no one answered. This provider can not be trusted. Local tourism agent said that this was not the first time that they did not show up.
Our local guide Resine was fantastic. Wonderful tour of Bonaire north and south. We were able to see the high lights of the island in a 3.5 hour tour and our guide even dropped us off at a local beach nearby the port for some snorkeling before heading back to the ship. Our guide was very helpful with our small children as well!
William was wonderful! He met us right where he said he would be, took us on an amazing tour. He was very informative, it’s clear he loves his island. Finding out I am a birder he stopped at a few places just to let me get out and get a better view of a few different birds. He also recommended a restaurant in town for some local fare for lunch, which turned out to be fantastic. We are already planning a return to Bonaire and will definitely book him again!
Helvig was amazing. Very personalized tour, the tour around Curacao was exceptional. Her car was one of the nicest we’ve been in on a tour of this kind,, comfortable and clean. It Couldn’t have been a better day.. She even recommended a local restaurant with local flavors, I may have had the best cocktail I’ve ever had.
This tour was so much fun! Rasine, our guide and driver is an incredibly nice person and we learned so much about her and the island. I was in a wheelchair that had to be taken in and out of the van multiple times and Rasine never made me feel like a bother. She always made sure we (my daughter and I) had water and gave us all the time we needed at the Cadushy Distillery and every other place we stopped. I can’t say enough good things about her or Shekhinah tours. The tour itself was so comprehensive and interesting. We managed to see the flamingos and heard all about them. At the salt ponds, we even got a bag of salt crystals as a gift from Shekhinah. If you’re looking for a tour to remember in Bonaire, definitely go with this one and ask if Rasine is available. The company is extremely easy to deal with, honest and very accommodating.
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable of the island, but we were put on a van with NO air conditioning. This was the most miserable tour we have done in our entire lives. I call the owner, who already knew the A/C was not working in this new van for over a week, and still decided to take our money and put us on a van with no A/C. I did ask for a refund which he gave a small portion, not even half per person. I am a travel agent and I would never recommend this company again.
The whole trip was wonderful! Our driver, Renny, was knowledgeable and very polite. We spent just enough time at each spot.
We enjoyed the truer very much with Remi. He was knowledgeable on the history and explained a lot of other things about Bonaire like the growth and industry, etc.. The only negative part was we couldn’t always understand him with his accent.
Super guide provided great insight into the island accomplishing our goal of really hitting the high spots. Very interesting and informative. Beautiful island.
