Group of four visited the three caves in Bonaire, each one touting different features. Two of us are in our 30’s and two in our 60’s. All in excellent physical shape. Tour and cave entrances were far more physically demanding than advertised. Needed both upper and lower body strength. One cave was over 100 degrees and stifling but had interesting stalagmites and tites. Another had bat quano everywhere- dont touch anything. Last cave had water at bottom of 35’ drop where you basically belayed down and pulled yourself up on a rope. Not a tour I would recommend.

When we went to Bonaire we decided to go with a guide to the caves. It was an amazing experience and the caves were beautiful! The guide was really friendly and funny. We had a great time. We really recommend it!
Booked the day before populating the information requested—including the resort staying in and detailing that we have a car and can drive to meet up location of caving excursion. We did not receive a text, email, or call with these details after booking so 30 minutes before the 8:30a excursion time, I looked up the excursion on Google and called their number and asked these same questions. The operator said they cancelled the excursion for the day as my reservation was made only the prior day and they did not have a tour guide that day, but offered to reschedule for another day, which we could not do. They said they were unable to provide a refund, but could only reschedule to another day and told me it was my fault for not rescheduling for another day. I then had to reach out to Trip Adviser / Aviator to explain this detail and request a refund. Very Poor Customer Service and Experience to those who are the lifeblood of companies like this!
Fantastic cave tour! Three caves, each with something different to offer. And Janise literally guided our every step along the way. Reassuring for even a timid climber. Highly recommend!!!
We had an excellent cave tour with our guide Remy. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience both fun and informative. The caves were fascinating, and we learned a lot about Bonaire. One of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommended!
We had a great cave adventure with Janise as our guide. We explored 3 different caves all with their own unique challenges. Janise did a great job guiding us thru the caves. While it is a bit challenging, it’s worth it! We are 60 & 61 and in great shape, which is helpful for the bit of cave, rock climbing to get in/out. The tour is a must if you’re on the island looking for a bit of adventure outside of diving. Tips: be well hydrated, wear shoes with good traction and be ready to sweat!
Our Guide Renny guided us (2 adults and 2 kids aged 8 and 10) safely through the beautiful caves. The kids loved it. We saw a lot of stalagmites and stalagmites. We crawled through a narrow opening. We swam (and snorkelled) in a cave. Renny was a fun and nice guide. We would recommend it to anyone.
This is definitely a strenuous activity, but that's not a bad thing! We climbed, we hiked, we sweat. If you miss your workout before the tour, don't worry....you'll get one ;) And it's well worth it! We saw so much cool stuff inside the caves! Fossilized coral, stalagtites, stalagmites, bats. As someone who is very scared of heights, I'm very proud to say I was able to accomplish what first appeared to be a very "scary" ladder thanks to our guide, Kenny's, patience and kindness. It was a very exciting day. So very glad we found this tour!
Wow! This was on a whole new level of awesome! The caves were amazing and each one distinctive and original. Swimming in a gave 60 feel underground was an experience I'm glad I didn't miss!
Once in a life time experience! Great memory created with my daughters! Remy is the best made my girls feel safe one was a little bit scared to attempt caves but she did it and loved ! Swimming in cave was so cool ! Thank you Remy!!!
Renny is the best guide ever. Very knowledgeable, funny, and a straight shooter. We really enjoyed it. Both the dry and wet caves are full of surprises
We had so much fun with Arturo on our half day tour. If you are physically fit and able this was a great opportunity. Arturo was amazing!
We had a great time on the cave tour. Our guide was Arturo. He had a lot of information about the caves and we felt safe the entire time.
Arturo and Valerie did a fantastic job as being guides during the cave tour on Bonaire! Lots of interesting details and very good communication. We had a great time and it was all dueable.
Arturo and Reny were the best tour guides ever, showed use the sites of Bonaire on top of the caves. An amazing experiences and funny guys. They helped out some of the people in our group and it was overall the best part of our trip
The tour guide Arturo was amazing. This company charged me twice the amount because I was a solo traveler. I was the only other person on the tour. I will not be using their services again. If they are able to refund the extra amount and charge me a fair price I may reconsider.
I’ve been in other caves before, but these were so much better than I expected. They were truly natural caves and had not been commercialized in any way. Absolutely awesome! The guide, Arturo, was very informative about the wonders that we were seeing and in helping us maneuver the terrain. If you like seeing caves, you should not miss these.
This was a wild yet amazing experience. Our guide, I believe his name was Mar. He was freaking hilarious and so knowledgeable! This has to be one of the coolest experiences ever!
Caves, Laughs & Legends – Arturo Made Our Trip! If you're in Bonaire and thinking about doing anything else before booking a cave tour with Arturo from Shekhinah Tours… stop. Just stop. Book the tour. Thank us later. We were a group of four and honestly, we thought we were just signing up for a cool cave adventure. What we got? A hilarious, mind-blowing, soul-recharging day that became the absolute highlight of our trip. Arturo is a walking encyclopedia with a great sense of humor and Jedi-level people skills. He read our group’s vibe like a pro – knew exactly when to crack a joke, when to drop some fascinating knowledge, and when to give us space to soak in the awe of the caves (or take totally unnecessary but very cool photos). He made us laugh until our faces hurt, while still keeping us safe, informed, and feeling like cave-exploring rockstars. Whether we were squeezing through ancient passageways or just marveling at nature’s weirdest creations, Arturo was the perfect mix of guide, storyteller, and honorary travel buddy. We came for the caves, but we’re staying fans because of Arturo. Don’t miss this tour – and definitely don’t miss him.
Our tour guide was Angie and she was amazing in showing us the donkeys, island history, the history of the salt flats. As well as showing us the slave huts as well.
Arturo was amazing! From the moment he picked us up at the cruise port, he made the experience unforgettable. Along the drive, he shared fascinating stories and insights about the history of Bonaire and pointed out notable landmarks, setting the tone for a fun and informative day. We explored three unique caves, each one offering its own adventure. Arturo made sure we had plenty of time at each spot and took incredible photos for us along the way. He was attentive to everyone’s safety, guiding us carefully into each cave and making sure we were comfortable. The highlight of the day was the final cave, where we had the chance to swim and snorkel in crystal-clear water—truly magical! Beyond just being a fantastic guide, Arturo was incredibly friendly, easy to talk to, and downright hilarious. His energy and humor made the tour even more enjoyable. I would 1000% recommend this excursion to anyone visiting Bonaire. It was a perfect mix of adventure, education, and fun. Don’t miss it!
We were blessed with Arturo and his team, Ali and Tom. We booked this tour as a group tour and lucked out as it was only us. Arturo picked us up from a spot two minutes from the cruise ship and helped us experience the hikes of three beautiful caves. Ali and Tom were assisting/in training that day which made it even easier to navigate, climb, and enjoy the wonderful scenery. As balance is not exactly my forte, Arturo was super-supportive and friendly and sometimes literally held my hand while he made the hikes both fun and safe. None of the hikes were too long (all below an hour including breaks and pauses). Arturo was also exceptional in offering to take the best pics during the hike. Apparently, there are over 300 caves in Bonaire, which we never knew. The last one ends at a cool pool where we had plenty of time to snorkel and explore the caves on our own. Though we were given flashlights (and you will DEFINITELY NEED them), it was thrilling to try the closest thing to a night snorkel. In the end, we were each awarded with a Bonaire gift to take home. We would rate this as a moderate physical activity. And you should definitely wear grippy shoes (sneakers or hiking shoes), not sandals. If we could rate this excursion more than 5 stars, we would as it was the best excursion we did on our 10-day cruise! Thanks so much, Arturo, Ali, and Tom!!!
We had a great time exploring two dry caves and one wet cave! Our guide Antuno was the most excited, funny and best person for an activity like this! We learnt a lot about caves and the history about them.
We had a great tour through the caves. Our local guide Arturo was super enthusiastic and chill and showed us beautiful places. A bit of climbing and scrambling and finally swimming in the cave! Really recommended.
Arturo was an exceptional guide who cared so much about our fun experience on the cave tour. We had an amazing time and we felt safe for all three caves.
We had the best day with Arturo and Aliele. Those two made our day in Bonaire absolutely amazing. They have a fun sense of humor, very knowledgeable about the area and the caves. We would book with this company again and again. Thank you for the best memories and the laughs!
This was an experience of a lifetime! We booked through Viator for one of our cruise excursions. The company was very accommodating with our ships later arrival time and adjusted our tour start time. Messaging through the aviator app was so easy and convenient for this! Our guides Arturo and Salix were so fantastic! My children ages 14, 12 and 8 loved the entire experience! When my mother-in-law got nervous and didn’t feel comfortable with the 2nd and 3rd caves, one of the guides took her and my Father-in-law on a little guided tour of the area and they so appreciated that! Super accommodating! That being said, if you struggle with bifocals and depth perception, this may not be the excursion for you. You should also be steady/confident on your feet and have decent upper arm/hand strength, especially for the 3rd cave. I recommend wearing a water shoe or waterproof hiking shoe. Wear a swim suit for the last cave. You’re able to leave belongings in the guides van during each cave. Vans were very nice, A/C and trustworthy! 10/10 recommend and hope to do again!
Tour was fun, amazing and challenging at times. Our party consisted of a 16, 24 and 64 year olds(me). So ended up being a private family tour. Arturo and his newer trainee Alieke were our guides. I was very impressed with Arturo’s scientific, historical and cultural knowledge of the caves and island. From reading about other tours, we brought our own head lamps. While not necessary with this tour operator’s excellent diving torches, still frees up a hand when climbing inside. We did three caves. One climbs down an aluminum ladder to enter and exit first cave. It is bolted and cemented to rock so no movement of ladder at all. Very safe. Beautiful rock formations and colors. Saw two bats. Second cave was simply climbing over the pointy limestone. Do wear closed toe footwear. Third and best cave including swimming in refreshing cool water. Yes, as described, the caves are hot and humid. You will sweat. This cave entry and exit required the use of a rope to assist with footing. Arturo was right there ready to assist each of us. He tells you exactly where to place your foot for best climbing. Other than scuba diving, this was best part of our adventure vacation. Also great customer service. When booking tour, our hotel was not on drop down menu. I hit the contact operator option in Trip Advisor and Arturo responded quickly and picked us up at our hotel exactly on time.
Arturo was a fantastic guide! The cave tour was amazing. Very intimate with only our party of 4. Arturo stressed safety first and took his time helping everyone through the difficult spots. It was a really enjoyable afternoon seeing a less traveled part of the island.
We had the best time today with Renny. Turned out it was just the 2 of us that signed up so Renny was able to customize our tour. We did 2 caves one dry and one wet. He had nice cold water when we came out of first dry cave that I think he called the Sauna Cave because it was so hot. And boy did the water taste good when we got back to the van. At first I was a little apprehensive about rappelling down the rope in the wet cave, but Renny was great and took such good care of us. We are in our early 70s and are in basically good shape, but yes it was a challenge. Renny was so careful to make sure we were okay. My only complaint is that I wanted to wear my water socks and was told I needed to go barefoot. I have tender feet :-) but I survived. We wore our bathing suits and Renny took our dry towels down into the cave for us. He had nice cold cokes ready for us when we got back to van. We had paid for an extra hour to see the south side of the island thinking we would just see the salt mountains and pink waters, but Renny made our day so special. He showed us some wild flamingos along the way as well as the wild donkeys. We even made one stop by the donkeys and were able to feed them. They were so gentle. He took us by the beach where they do the wind surfing. I forget the name but it was so awesome. I think he said you could actually walk about a mile out in the water it is so shallow. The colors in the water were like a picture and with all the wind surfers it was like a postcard. Renny was so thoughtful about what we wanted to see and took us to other places so we could get a real feel for the beauty of this island. If you are thinking of using this company and are apprehensive I would suggest chatting with them. They are great at responding and helping you decide what to do. Oh and we had him drop us at the ice cream store by the ship and it was yummy. Thanks again Renny for a great day. Thanks to you we actually think Bonaire is our favorite island from the ABCs.
We had a great time climbing in, through and out of the caves. Arturo did an excellent job showing us the way, being informative while keeping us safe. Swimming in the last cave was a highlight of the day.
Fantastic.Very special opportunity to be guided through an incredible trio of caves. You must be physically agile or this might not be for you . If you are, you’re in for a great experience. Sturdy footwear is a must. Sneakers or better, no sandals. 3rd cave was the most challenging but the reward was worth it. Bring water shoes to switch into for the third cave . You are in for a treat. We had Arturo as our guide. Excellent!
Amazing guides and caves!! Arturo was fabulous. Great experience. The heights scared me a little, but Arturo guided me down
We had the best time! Renny and Arturo were excellent guides. We learned a lot, felt safe, and truly felt this was the highlight of our trip. We felt like old friends with the guides by the end, and actually hated to leave! The caves were incredible and swimming in them was the highlight! Please please please provide them with new and updated flashlights. Maybe some for the head? Holding a light that kept going off or flashing wasn’t the best, but they gave us theirs and we did great. They do need new ones though!
Just amazing! Our incredible guides Renny and Arturo were super knowledgeable and made us feel extremely safe and taken care of. It’s dark and hot and a little creepy inside the caves, but unbelievably awesome and 200% worth seeing! They expertly assisted our descent into, climbing around inside of, and ascent out of (with ropes and handholds and greatly appreciated hand pulling) all three caves. And they’re both lovely humans to boot - we had so much fun exploring with them. Thank you thank you to them both for making our experience on Bonaire so wonderful 🩷🩷 If I could make one suggestion it would be for better flashlights - they’re not very powerful and don’t stay lit consistently. But truly no complaints!
Renny was our tour guide and he was fantastic! He arrived on time at the pick up location. It was just the two of us. We always felt safe going down inside the caves with Renny. The first cave was hot inside, 110 F or so, had bats in one area, a lot of stalagmites and stalactites. We didn't spend much time inside this cave but had time for a great look around. The second cave was very interesting, also with bats and stalagmites and stalactites. The third cave was amazing! We climbed down a rope, with flashlights. After a short hike there was a beautiful cool (not cold), refreshing pool of water that we snorkeled, swam, floated around and relaxed in, and looked at the formations. There were tiny shrimp and fish in the water. Renny pointed out many interesting and funny formations. Such a fun tour! Highly recommend the tour and Renny as the guide. Thank you again Renny!
It was fantastic: both of the guides were super careful , knowledgeable, considerate, and pleasant to be on the trip with . Our safety was definitely their top priority. I highly recommend them.
What an incredible experience! Remmy was an excellent guide. He took us around to three different cave systems, including one that we swam in for an hour!! This is a professional company that creates a wonderful experience, including knowledgeable information about the island from native island guides. If you’re in Bonaire, you need to book this excursion!!
Only a short ride from the cruise port. We were taken to 3 different caves on the island. Each cave was unique in its own way.. The first 2 caves were “dry” and the 3rd cave was a “wet” cave meaning you get to go swimming. Will say that the entrance to the caves are not for the faint of heart or those that have any physical disabilities but if you are looking for an adventure this is a must do!
Mar is a great guide. The caves are in their natural condition so no walking paths. Having said that, Mar told us where to put our feet to get to the bottom of the cave and back up. Incredible experience for those who are fit. If you have physical disabilities this is not the tour for you. I wish the tour operator would have put in the description to bring a towel and wear clothes that can get wet but that’s no reflection on our actual guide.
Renny, thnx for the wonderfull tour. The funny remarks and info you told us was great. We felt very safe and enjoyed seeing everything and appreciated you took your time in showing it all and making sure we were safe. Really enjoyed the swimming, very unique experience.
This was an excellent wild cave tour. We saw 3 different caves. Our guide Renny was so friendly and knowledgeable. He was able tell us exactly where to step in the caves and maneuver around. We had a great time. 😊👍
Very personal tour of three caves… when my husband didn’t think he could repel into the cave for snorkeling our guide Renny got him down there … lots of local knowledge of the flora and fauna as well. As advertised and more!!! Two thumbs up 😄
It was a unique experience! Our tourguide Oscar was very experienced and made the whole trip unforgettable! You need to be fit and keep cool; for rockklimbing and cave snorckling.
Great tour! We especially loved snorkling in the cave. Guide Oscar was excellent! He kept us safe, and we had a lot of fun.
Caves are beautiful and serene. Oscar was an awesome guide with much knowledge. Be ready for a small amount of climbing and repelling with a rope. Snorkel gear and water shoes are great. Our favorite tour!!!
This really is a great and unique cave tour. We have been in various caves before but nothing compares to this. The caves are in their natural state and the sometimes challenging conditions make you feel like a real explorer. Our guide Oscar was very helpful and was always alert to help us to get safely through the difficult parts. This certainly was one of the highlights of our stay in Bonaire.
Climb down into three caves with three guides. You explore the caves and also can take a swim with a snorkel. Another Bonaire experience.
Oscar made the tour special he has so much knowledge about the island and its caves. He was on time picking us up and gave us a great safety briefing for entering and exiting the caves . He led the way on the snorkel part. This was more than just snorkeling in a pond you get to go thru a flooded cave. Safely. Best afternoon on the island Thanks Oscar
We went on the Cave Tour guided by Oscar . He picked us up at Buddy Dive right on time. We didn’t know what to expect.Oscar gave us a full briefing about the island and the caves. He was very knowledgeable. While we were driving to the first of three caves he gave us the history and a safety briefing. He supplied us with lights and made sure we were safe entering and exiting the caves. I must admit the caves were more challenging than we thought they were. I would recommend Oscar for the Cave Tour. Thanks Oscar 5 Stars
