A phenomenal day and would highly recommend. Henk, our driver met us at the cruise pier on time and was easy to find. We departed and had a wonderful drive throughout the island and he took time to explain the history of Bonaire and its beautiful beaches. After driving and seeing many landmarks including the salt production facility, pink flamingoes and donkeys, we were dropped off at a lovely beachside restaurant and bar and enjoyed the afternoon until he returned to pick us up at our prearranged time. We then travelled back to the shop with plenty of time to explore the shops and restaurants near the pier. He was extremely accommodating and flexible and was eager to make our day enjoyable. This was a much better way to enjoy the island instead of a crowded bus with dozens of other guests.

Itinerary
Discover the colorful heart of Bonaire as we drive through Kralendijk, the island’s charming capital and main port! Known locally as “Playa,” meaning “beach” in Papiamentu, this lively Caribbean town is filled with vibrant architecture, historic buildings, and beautiful waterfront views. The name Kralendijk originates from the Dutch “Koralendijk,” referring to a coral reef or coral dike. Along the way, your local guide will bring the town to life with stories, local traditions, and insights into everyday island life.
As we continue our journey, we pass Flamingo International Airport, Bonaire’s colorful gateway to the world! Named after the island’s iconic flamingos, the airport welcomes visitors with its distinctive pink exterior, reflecting one of Bonaire’s most beloved symbols. Your local guide will share how tourism has helped shape the island.
Discover one of Bonaire’s most breathtaking landscapes as we explore the famous Salt Pans! Marvel at the striking contrast of pink salt ponds, towering white salt mountains, and the beautiful Caribbean scenery. Learn how the island’s abundant sunshine and steady trade winds help transform seawater into salt through a natural evaporation process. Your local guide will share fascinating stories about Bonaire’s centuries-old salt industry and its important role in shaping the island’s history and economy. Don't forget your camera, as this is one of Bonaire’s most unique and photogenic sights!
Step into an important chapter of Bonaire’s history as we visit the historic White and Yellow Slave Huts along the southern coast. Built around mid 1800, these tiny stone shelters are reminders of the island’s past, when enslaved people were forced to work under harsh conditions in the nearby salt pans. Discover how these workers lived and learn about their daily struggles before slavery was abolished. Your local guide will share the stories behind these historic landmarks, offering a deeper understanding of Bonaire’s heritage and the people who helped shape the island we know today.
Experience the excitement of Bonaire’s kitesurfing scene as we visit Atlantis Kite Beach, one of the island’s most popular spots for this thrilling water sport! With steady trade winds and beautiful turquoise waters, this location attracts kitesurfers from around the world. Watch colorful kites fill the sky as riders glide across the Caribbean Sea, showing off their impressive skills and tricks.
Keep your eyes open for Bonaire’s iconic pink flamingos as we explore the island’s beautiful southern landscapes! Discover these magnificent birds in their natural habitat, often seen feeding in the shallow salt ponds. Along the way, you may also encounter free-roaming donkeys, another beloved part of Bonaire’s wildlife. Your local guide will share stories about these animals, their history, and their connection to the island. We’ll also pass Willemstoren Lighthouse, Bonaire’s oldest lighthouse, built in 1837, standing proudly near the island’s southern tip. Enjoy breathtaking scenery and wonderful photo opportunities as we search for Bonaire’s famous wildlife!
Discover the tropical beauty of Sorobon Beach, one of Bonaire’s most breathtaking beach destinations! Located along the stunning Lac Bay, Sorobon is famous for its crystal-clear turquoise waters, shallow lagoon, and relaxed Caribbean atmosphere. Watch colorful windsurfers glide across the water as you take in the beautiful surroundings. Want to enjoy paradise a little longer? You can choose to stay at Sorobon Beach to swim, unwind, soak up the sunshine, or enjoy a refreshing drink at a nearby beach bar. Simply arrange a convenient return pickup time with your local guide, at no additional cost! Enjoy your beach experience at your own pace, knowing your return transportation is already included in the tour price.

Henk was very knowledgeable, friendly, and had answers to all our questions! The tour all round the island was comfortable, nice AC! I would recommend!
Henk was a wonderful tour guide and he took to all the interesting sights and places in Bonaire. We really enjoyed his warm hospitality and loved the tour.
Henk was the best tour guide I have ever experienced! Having been on Bonaire since birth, he had a deep knowledge of the island, its people, and its history. The tour was in an air conditioned vehicle ( a big plus for me), and Henk stopped for us to take pictures along the way. Many people just rented a car to go to the same spots we did, but they missed out on the rich details that Henk provided. I highly, highly recommend this tour!
Henk was very nice and knowledgable, only issues are there is very little to see on the island if you aren’t scuba diving and the van which was older was very uncomfortable on the worn out roads. If you are looking for a quick few hour overview of the island and back on a ship this would be a good option for you.
Tour representatives did not arrive to get us at their appointed time. Received refund. We found another tour same program and lower cost.
The driver met us at the port right on time and where he said he’d be waiting with our name on the sign. Our tour ended up being about two hours, but we’re pretty fast tourists and didn’t spend a lot of time in any one location. The driver was very friendly and informative. This tour is a great way to have a nice overview of the island.
Our guide, Ray, was a very nice man and took us all over the island. We saw & learned much about Bonaire. He was very accommodating and helpful.
Hank was very knowledgeable and friendly guide. We saw the highlights of the island. He did a great job driving carefully along a few tight one way parts of a road. We enjoyed the history he shared of the island.
We enjoyed our private three hour tour of Bonaire on 2/18/25 with Henk. We chose to book this private tour with Henk, through Viator, because I wanted to see the island in an air conditioned vehicle. I wasn't sure what mode of transportation was being offered through the cruise line excursions/tours. This tour was highly rated through Viator and I absolutely agree this is a 5 star tour! My husband and I wanted a quite and personal tour to see and learn about the island. Henk was our tour guide and he was amazing! He shared the history and other interesting facts and stories about Bonaire. We saw donkeys wandering the island and flamingos in their natural habitat. Henk took us to the salt flats and explained the historical significance of the slave huts. Henk had a large map of the island in his car so we were able to follow along as we moved about the island. This tour exceeded my expectations. My husband and I really enjoyed our time with Henk and learning about his beautiful island home.
Hank was really great. We had booked a private tour for 2 and he was very flexible when we asked if he could accommodate 2 more. He is a Bonaire native and was very knowledgeable about his island home and culture. We would recommend his tour for a really good overview of Bonaire.
What a wonderful experience! Thank you, Henk, for a great tour of Bonaire. We got to see the highlights and so much more! I would highly recommend Henk's tour to anyone. It was just my husband and myself on the tour, but he can accommodate much larger groups.
Henk is a great and pleasant tour guide he gave us a wonderful tour of the Island dropped us off on a Beach club for a couple of hours then came back for us and left us on the cruise pier.
Our guide/driver was a local for 20+ years and was well informed about the history and facts of the island, which we greatly appreciated.
An excellent 3 hour private tour of the island of Bonaire. The guide was very knowledgeable, answering all our questions. He took us to the major sites and we feel we now know so much more about the island.
This was a great tour. Henk was very knowledgeable and was very professional. The van was great and Henk had water available for us. We had enough time at each stop, Henk told us some personal stories about the island and answered all our questions and more. We learned things about the island that we would never had known without our local guide. Highly recommended
Henk was great. He provided information about island life, his life, and all the areas we visited. He was willing to adjust the schedule to meet our needs and even helped us find a local restaurant with very good food. He was on time for the departure and the return to post.
We learned some interesting things during our short tour of the small island with Sid. He was on time and friendly. I would have liked to have been able to spend a longer time at the beach or other location before returning to the ship (given the total cost of the tour).
Great experience. We got to see a huge range of sights all across the island. Our favorite was seeing the flamingos in their natural habitat and salt flats.
If you are looking for a private tour guide for Bonaire, look no further. Henk picked us up at the cruise port in an air conditioned van. We were a party of 4. We toured the north and south end of the island. We saw everything that is listed. My highlight was seeing the flamingos and the pink beds. We also visited 1000 steps in addition saw donkeys and goats. He is very informative and all enjoyed.
Had a fabulous time and the tour guy Henk was very knowledgeable. Thank you Took us everywhere we wanted to do.
We had a wonderful time with Henk as our personal driver. We got to see every part of the island we wanted. I highly recommend his tour over any cruise tour you can book.
We had a wonderful time on the Private Bonaire Island Tour. Not only did the company make us feel valued in my pre-tour communications, but the owner (Henk) even decided to conduct the tour. He was very professional, time conscious and was very knowledgeable about Bonaire. He customized the trip based on our interests and thus per my small request he even made a pit stop to allow me to buy souvenirs. I recommend this company for a Bonaire tour. Great job Henk Transfers and Tours.
We really enjoyed this tour! It was my family that included 3 teenagers, and we all had a great time. We saw both the north and south ends of the island and the guide offered facts and insights along the way. Definitely would recommend!
Excellent private tour for my family of three. Picked up at cruise ship terminal and dropped off downtown as requested. Terminal super close to downtown so walked back to cruise ship after. Was able to request a convenient time for pickup. No issues. Very informative.
