My family, my mom, and I had an exceptional dinner cruise aboard the Aquaspace yacht. The captain and his daughter made us feel welcome from the moment we stepped aboard and took wonderful care of us throughout the evening. They made everybody feel like family. The boat was incredibly clean, and the Aqua Space viewing area underneath the boat was amazing, especially for anyone who does not want to get in the water. Being able to drift along the coast of Klein Bonaire while viewing the reef from the Aqua Space was an amazing and unforgettable experience. The food was absolutely delicious, and their attentive hospitality made the evening even better. They were always checking whether we needed another drink or anything else, and the conversations with both of them were a highlight of the night. It felt like spending an evening with wonderful hosts who truly wanted us to have a great time. The snorkeling was fantastic, too! They took us to some excellent spots with plenty of fish, and I even spotted a Caribbean reef shark—an unforgettable experience! Between the delicious dinner, amazing snorkeling, incredible Aqua Space viewing area, and warm, personal service, this was a special evening for our whole family. A huge thank-you to the captain and his daughter! We would absolutely book again and highly recommend this cruise to anyone visiting Bonaire.

Itinerary
Your adventure begins with a relaxing cruise to Klein Bonaire, where you'll descend into our air-conditioned underwater observation deck. From here, you’ll have the chance to look at the incredible underwater world of Bonaire. This is the same type of experience that Jacques Cousteau once had aboard our boat during his many explorations of the world's oceans. Although he never visited Bonaire, our boat and observation deck were part of his research, and you’ll be able to experience the same stunning views of the ocean as he did. Afterward, you'll continue your journey with drinks and snacks while we sail to a peaceful mooring. Here, you can snorkel or swim in the crystal-clear waters—don't worry, all the equipment you need is provided onboard. If you’d rather stay dry, you can always return to the observation deck and watch the snorkelers explore the vibrant underwater life. As you enjoy the sights and activities, our crew will prepare a delicious three-course dinner. Once you've finished your meal, we’ll set sail again and head back to the starting point, wrapping up an unforgettable day on the water.

Amazing excursion on an amazing ship with an amazing family. Jiske, Sven, and Peter were so welcoming, they treated us like family - seriously! My wife and I had the time of our life. This was THE excursion that we most looked forward to when coming off of our cruise for the day. Jiske messaged beforehand to work out details, Peter told us the storied history of the ship, and Sven made one of the BEST meals that we ever had. Somewhere in between we saw turtles and scores of fish clear as day thru the glass on the bottom of the ship as well as when we snorkeled in the water. They were simply the best and if we had the opportunity to do this again, we would in a heartbeat. (Side note: I’ve felt guilty for not posting this since May bc of how memorable it was…feeling slightly better now lol)
We doubted about doing boattrips to Klein Curaçao or Klein Bonaire first, but since my girlfriend is pregnant, we didn't want to do an all inclusive 'booze cruise'. Then a Dutch girl in Bonaire advised us to do this boattrip, because she did it and had a great experience and even saw a pack of dolphins on the trip. We were already convinced after that, but the tour was still not cheap, so it had to give a good experience. When we arrived at the dock and heard the story of the company and after seeing the cool boat, we even where more enthousiastic. The tour was nice, snorkeling was nice and even the food, service and drinks included where great. This is a great family owned small organisation and we hope that everyone who loves nature and slow island life and visits Bonaire will do this trip!
Yesterday we were sailing on the Aquaspace. Loved every minute of it. The snorkeling and the view were great. But what really did it was the great hospitality we received from Jiske and Sven on this very special boat! Have you ever been on a boat with an underwater observation deck formerly used by Jacques Cousteau? Do you like good food, cool drinks and great company? Then check out the Aquaspace in Bonaire!
We did this tour and LOVED everything about it! The service of Captain Peter, Jay and Sven were amazing, the food was absolutely delicious (fresh tuna, steak and homemade apple pie), and the underwater observation deck was such a unique experience to view the marine life and reef! We also loved having the opportunity to snorkel, swim and relax at the same time! Thank you for making our anniversary week special and memorable!
Such a cool experience. Peter and Hanns were incredibly friendly and attentive. We were the only Americans on the trip but, there was no issues with feeling left out. The dinner was absolutely delicious! I didn't snorkeling due to having a headache so, I took a little nap. BEST NAP EVER! The Aquaspace boat is such a cool boat. 10/10 would recommend this to anyone!
This was a great excursion! It is a family owned and operated business and the owners are fabulous hosts. What a fascinating boat with a really cool history. For anyone who doesn’t scuba dive and wants to see what it’s like a little, this is perfect. We also got to snorkel a beautiful reef and had a DELICIOUS dinner. I highly recommend this adventure.
Wonderful, top notch, premium experience! Lots of pampering and wonderful food. I spent 10 days on Bonaire and this is the best meal I had. absolutely gourmet. The first course was very much like sushi without the rice: fresh caught, raw tuna, pickled seaweed, soy sauce, and wasabi. It was terrific. They also have non-raw fish options. The next course was steak on a bed of grilled vegetables. The last course was Dutch apple pie with whipped cream. Plenty of drinks and snacks throughout. The glass bottom boat was amazing. We went to Klein Bonaire and saw loads of fish along with two sea turtles. The snorkeling was terrific as well at Andrea 1. Then we Cruised back through the calm waters after sunset. Loads of comfortable places to sit, including beanbag chairs on the sides of the front deck. Worth every penny.
It is one of a kind. The people that run the boat are absolutely amazing, so friendly and accommodating. Peter and Swen did a fantastic job of making us feel welcome. Swen is an amazing chef and the dinner on our sunset cruise was delicious. We had snacks, drinks at our fingertips. Loved the story that Peter told of the history of the boat. Down below was cool to see under the water with the fish n wildlife. Just a relaxing tour and would highly recommend for anyone looking for a unique tour. When we stop to snorkel or swim, they were very accommodating and giving us a noodle for a flotation device, and I was even able to go down the steps instead of jumping in. Overall, I would give this beyond five stars best tour we have ever taken.
A sail full of marine history, turtles and a beautiful sunset.
The Captain and his Daughter made sure everyone had an excellent time. The boat is a unique aluminum trihull design with viewing wonders above and below deck. Cruising over the Klien Bonaire reef and enjoying an almost 360 degree view was really cool. The snorkeling stop was good, be sure to check out the school of blue tangs that clean the hull while anchored. Dinner was excellent and visiting with new friends was terrific. Check this out and you will be glad you did.
Captain Peter and crew Sven and J made us feel comfortable right from the start. Introduced themselves, and let everyone know they should slow down and take their time. Great choice of drinks and excellent service! Great intro to the boat, what we were going to do. Captain Peter gave a detailed history of the Aquaspace. Very cool sailing along Klein Bonaire and seeing the shallow reef on 1 side and the drop off on the other from the observation hull. Never been on a boat like this! Snorkeling at Andrea 2 site was great. No rush. Drinks, appetizers and dinner were excellent! Best toilet I have ever seen on a sail boat! This was a highlight of our trip to Bonaire and makes us want to return. I encourage anyone coming here to do it. And do it early in your visit as you might want to go a second time. When we returned to the Eden Resort, good music and dancing and reasonable bar prices. Did I mention parking was close and easy to find. Make it 10 stars, not 5!
This was one of the best sunset sails we have ever experienced. The 3-person crew did a great job of providing us with everything we needed and made the trip very enjoyable. The service they provided was excellent!!
The people are great... father and daughter team... fun and informative. The viewing was unique and the meal excellent.
This was our second time to do this excursion. That’s how awesome it is! It is a unique boat with a lot of history and the family that owns the boat and hosts the excursion are so friendly and accommodating. The food and drinks they serve are top notch. Just a beautiful afternoon and sunset in Bonaire. You won’t regret it!
We frequently visit Bonaire as it has become a second home. We always book a trip on the Aquaspace for so many reasons. Our young kids fell in love with the first trip and heavily request another trip months in advance of us visiting the island. Peter, Jiska, and Sven are just exceptional hosts and made us feel more like family and not clients from the very first trip. The drift along the island is an amazing way to see turtles, rays, fish, and all of the amazing underwater world Bonaire has to offer without having to be a diver. That being said the stop for dinner and snorkeling provides an excellent way to also get in the water and experience this amazing island. Food is off the charts good and the best dinner with a view we've ever had. Don't even think twice, if you are visiting Bonaire book this trip immediately after you book flights. We travel internationally with our kids a fair amount and nothing compares to the family that operates this boat and the experience you will have.
It was an amazing event from start to finish. The Captain Peter was very funny, knowledgeable and kind and his daughter Jisa (sp?) was captivating and a great cook! We would recommend this trip 1000 times over!
Excellent fun!! Amazing!!!!
This is the best adventure on the island of Bonaire. The boat and boat ride is amazing. The viewing underneath the surface of the water is a once in a lifetime experience. Peter and Sven take you to one of the best spots on the coast to snorkel and finish up with a wonderful sunset dinner. This excursion has it all and I will be back on this boat when I return to Bonaire.
I’ve been on over 20 cruises and countless excursions, but this one was hands-down the most enjoyable, with the best service and the best value I’ve ever experienced. From the moment we stepped on board, everything was incredible. The food was outstanding — fresh tuna appetizers, perfectly cooked steaks, and delicious desserts — paired beautifully with wines and mixed drinks. The service was warm, friendly, and top-notch from start to finish. One of the most unique highlights was the underwater viewing from the sailboat, which was originally used by Jacques Cousteau. Being able to see marine life through the vessel’s special viewing windows while sailing was truly unforgettable. The snorkeling destination in Bonaire was world-class — easily one of the best I’ve ever seen.To say I highly recommend this excursion would be a massive understatement. It’s a perfect mix of relaxation, beauty, and unforgettable moments. Here’s what we enjoyed most:Savoring a refreshing signature cocktail and local snacks on board Relaxing on deck while enjoying a beautifully curated music playlist Watching a stunning sunset! I can’t say enough good things about it — truly exceptional!
This is a great experience run by a family of father, daughter and boyfriend. They are extremely knowledgeable and have a unique boat that you won't find anywhere else. You can literally see all the reef life from the bottom of the boat in an air-conditioned chamber that was one used for marine biology by Jacques Cousteau. My family travels a lot and has done our share of activities, shore excursions from cruise ships, etc but this is one of the best. They even cooked burgers and fries for my kids while the adults ate sashimi grade tuna and steaks as the sun set.
This was hands down the best night we had in Bonaire. After planning a full week of activities, including snorkeling and dinners, we decided to take one night off and booked the Aquaspace Sunset Dinner Cruise. It ended up being our favorite experience of the entire trip. The crew was incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely fun to be around, which made the whole evening feel relaxed and effortless. The observation area is truly one of a kind. On top of that, the dinner was amazing and drinks were always flowing. It’s the perfect combination of everything you’d want: a boat cruise, a stunning sunset, great food, and the option to snorkel or swim, all wrapped into a few hours. I can’t recommend this enough. If you’re visiting Bonaire, don’t miss it.
I am gluten intolerant, that wasnt a problem. They even knew soy sauce has gluten in it. Snorkeling off the boat while my husband took a pic of me from the inside, we sailed around the island Klein to see all the fish and turtles was also a highlight. Very friendly & caring family runs this- they could not do enough for all of us.
Just a Great Experience!! Peter, J and Sven, were awesome hosts! They provided us with the story of the Aqua Space Vessel, they were so kind and so easy to communicate with!! Drinks included Soda, Beer and other Liquors. We were provided an appetizer of fresh Tuna Sushi, followed by a delicious medium cooked Beef Tail Steak and finished with a Real Homemade Dutch Apple Pie, straight from Sven’s Netherlands Heritage!! I can’t give enough compliments for how tasty everything was! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this Sunset Excursion!!
What a terrific sunset cruise on a truly one of a kind boat! This is a family-run sailing trip, and it’s was such a special experience. Peter, his daughter J and her boyfriend Sven were gracious hosts and made my husband and I and fellow guests feel well cared for. The glass bottom boat once used for Jacques Cousteau underwater explorations was so cool and provided great views of Klein Bonaire reef! Then we went snorkeling at a lively spot, where we saw a turtle, a ray and a ton of brightly colored fish. Dinner was delicious- fresh-caught tuna, grilled steak and Dutch Apple Pie Sven baked using his grandmother’s recipe. Cold drinks were flowing, the perfect pairing for sunset. Highly recommend this experience!
My husband and I had had a terrific sunset cruise on this truly one of a kind boat! Captain Peter, his daughter J and her boyfriend Sven were such gracious hosts and made our small group feel at home on the sea. This glass bottom boat was so cool and gave us great views of Klein Bonaire reef without getting wet! We then had a beautiful snorkel and saw a turtle, a ray and a ton of brightly colored fish. Then we had a delicious dinner of fresh-caught tuna, grilled steak and Dutch Apple Pie Sven baked using his grandmother’s recipe. Yum! J served us ice-cold drinks during the trip, the perfect pairing for sunset. We would highly recommend this family-run, special experience!
Peter, the captain and owner, is a character - a great storyteller who takes pride in relating his experiences acquiring and restoring this amazing vessel once used for research by Jacque Cousteau. What a thrill to view underwater sea creatures through the wall of windows in the bottom of the boat! Peter is a great grill master too! He and the crew prepared and served a fresh and delicious meal. The sublime apple pie for dessert was made from scratch by crewmember Sven. They strive to make sure guests have a great time, with Peter even trying to learn a little Portuguese from a sweet elderly lady who only spoke that language. I highly recommend this activity during your stay on Bonaire!
Excellent experience. The Daughter/Father crew were very knowledgeable and accommodating. They were a comprehensive source of information on the area, the fish, turtles. They took us along the drop-off from the reef so accurately that we were able to see far more than by snorkeling, although that was also an option available. The 3 course dinner was outstanding both in quality and service and they were able to accommodate various dietary restrictions for some of the guests. The boat itself is unique with it's underwater viewing capsule, enabling guests to see the coral and fish very comfortably. Highly recommend this tour.
Wow, what an unexpectedly wonderful experience! We thought this might just be snorkelling and dinner in the evening on a boat in Bonaire. But until you’re on the boat, don’t really appreciate how amazing the underwater viewing compartment is. To be able to sit comfortably in your dry clothes and see all the fish and coral the underwater sea life was really mesmerising. The crew worked incredibly hard and were impressively upbeat and friendly and helpful. The meal was surprisingly good for what I had expected to eat on a boat. Creative, and tasty. The boat had a small enough number of passengers that it was easy to have conversations. We really enjoyed meeting several of the other passengers. It was our last organized activity before we left the island and my wife and I both were raving about it the next day. If you are considering any sort of snorkelling trip in Bonaire, I highly recommend this one because it is incredibly unique compared to everything else I saw on Tripadvisor in this area
We were a group of six who had the pleasure of sailing with Aquaspace last week on their Sunset Barbeque Tour, and we all enjoyed it immensely. Captain Peter, Sven & Jiske were all very friendly and were attentive to our needs. Sven made a delicious meal that we thoroughly enjoyed. I recommend this tour for those in Bonaire seeking a relaxing afternoon on the water.
The Aquaspace boat was missing a crew member on our tour to see the ostracods, but the young couple handled it perfectly! J's introduction to the tour was perfect and very informative. They took awesome care of us and made sure we all had cocktails to enjoy the sunset while up top. Then once it was dark we went downstairs to look out the glass windows at the bioluminsence of the little ostracods. So cool!
Our evening aboard Aquaspace was nothing short of magical—a once‑in‑a‑lifetime sailing experience in Bonaire that I would recommend to any traveler seeking something truly unique and memorable. Aquaspace itself is extraordinary. Designed by renowned French architect, the vessel was originally built for whale observation. Its thick glass bottom allows for stunning underwater viewing, offering a fascinating and completely dry way to admire Bonaire’s coral reef and marine life. Watching vibrant fish glide beneath our feet was a highlight on its own. We sailed with four other parties of various ages—from young children to adults—and even as the oldest couple on board (mid‑50s), we felt perfectly at home. The boat is spacious enough to enjoy quiet moments alone or mingle with fellow guests, depending on your mood. What truly elevated the experience were our hosts: the captain and his daughter. Their warmth, joy, and genuine hospitality made us feel like honored guests. The captain shared the history of the boat with pride and humor, making the journey even more special. After sailing a bit, we moored near the shore of Bonaire for snorkeling. I felt like I was actually swimming among the fish—an unforgettable moment. For guests who preferred not to swim or snorkel too much like my husband, relaxing on the boat with beautiful views was equally enjoyable. Dinner was a standout feature: a home‑cooked meal that could rival any foodie spot on the island, complete with delicious family-made dessert. There were plenty of beverage options and snacks throughout the evening. We never once felt rushed; in fact, our tour stretched well past sunset, giving us time to savor every moment. There are many sail, snorkel, and dinner excursions in Bonaire, but this one is truly exceptional. It stands out among all the travel experiences I’ve had. I know I will carry the memory of this evening with me for years to come.
What a unique experience! Peter and Jiske are welcoming hosts who arranged a fantastic tour for us. Everything was perfectly organized down to the smallest detail. We enjoyed great food and drinks, went snorkeling, and of course spent time in the cabin from where we could watch the underwater life. And finally, we enjoyed the beautiful sunset before heading back. Worth every penny. Thanks a lot!
This is a must do on Bonaire. Peter & his Daughter, Jiska, run a great operation and make the whole trip fun from start to finish. There were 8 of us and we rented the whole boat and had a great time. Peter's overview of the work done to restore the boat to its current form was great to hear as you gain a great perspective on this family passion project. We then ran along the reef surrounding Klein Bonaire and saw tons of marine life. This was followed by some wonderful snorkeling and then a first class dinner that rivals anything on land...all cooked and served by Peter & Jiska...with terrific apple pie to follow made my Sven (sp?), Jiska's partner. It was a four hour adventure on a beautiful afternoon/evening with a sunset to match the fun that preceded. Well worth the time and money. All the best to this wonderful duo.
This is one of the best excursions we have ever taken. This is such a unique boat and the family that restored it is also the crew! The food for dinner was of gourmet quality and the presentation was perfect! We saw some beautiful fish and turtles. They are professional, friendly, helpful and attentive. We would definitely do this again!
Was a great time on a super cool unique boat. Has a cool history. Family run boat is great fun. Excellent food.
Aquaspace is a super cool unique boat with an under the water viewing area and a lot of up top space to chill. Cool space. The father daughter team that hosted us were great fun and served a fantastic dinner.
Wonderful father-daughter crew and an incredible experience! I’ve never had such a lovely three course meal on a sunset ride. Some of the best food I ate all week in Bonaire.
Awesome experience! Peter and his family are very passionate about their special boat and the service to their guests! Also the food was excellent and I never had to wait for the next drink.
I chose this excursion because of the ability to view sea life without getting wet and it did not disappoint. A unique experience on a unique ship. Dinner was freshly prepared by the owner (Jeske), cooked by the Captain (Peter, her dad), and finished with homemade dessert (by Sven). The conversation was great as we were onboard as a family and the boat is family operated. The crew was extremely friendly and accommodating. The boat is almost completely renovated and the hard work shows. I would recommend for families with children (4+ years old), but perhaps not for babies. Our group for the evening was small, only my family and a couple from the Netherlands, which was great…..it felt like we had an entire charter to ourselves. Probably the best island excursion we have taken!
If you arrive in Bonaire on a cruise and are wondering what excursion to take then the Aquaspace is the best. Father and daughter team are amazing and Captain Peter can tell a story. Small number of people so it’s very personable, just do it. Food and sunset were amazing.
We highly recommend Aquaspace! Me and my husband celebrated his 40th birthday on Aquaspace. It was an unforgettable experience. The views the crew the food the people were amazing. Peter and Jiske took such good care of us and made us smile the whole day. You can tell how hard they work and enjoy their work and such good people they are. GOOD VIBES!!!The underwater observation deck was like nothing I've ever seen absolutely incredible. If you come to Bonaire you need to book this trip. 10/10
I've been coming on the Aquaspace regularly since 2010, through three different owners who all brought their own charm and unique personality to this amazing boat. The new owners are no different. Wonderful food, great stories, all on a truly unique vessel. You cannot beat a sunset cruise on the Aquaspace, trust me.
Relaxing sail, just motored no actual sailing. Went around Klein Bonaire then anchored & went snorkeling.Diner was delicious. Great friendly staff, polite, engaging. Wonderful night. HOLY CRAP BEST TOILET/HEAD I’VE EVER USED IN 40 YEARS of diving. IMACULATE ‼️‼️‼️ 5 ⭐️ 👍🏻 funny to review but on a ship it important!! BEST!!
We did the afternoon/evening tour in a small cosy group on this exceptional special floating object ;) The captain/owner and his daughter are very entertaining not only about the interesting story of this ship and the project of creating an unique underwater experience of it but also on marine live around Bonaire. Also sailing on this unique concept was an incomparable experience. Beside that they were good hosts with drinks everytime on time and delicious food prepared onboard. It was worth every dollar :)
This is a not to be missed experience! The father and daughter duo provided us with an amazing trip on Aquaspace. As we traveled by the reef, this unique sailing vessel provided us with an underwater viewing where we saw beautiful fish, sea turtles and coral. Jacques Cousteau used this boat when doing research so we thought it was very cool to experience this piece of history. Then we anchored for snorkeling and a fabulous dinner. Would book this trip over and over again!
Highly recommend. MUST experience this and add to your bucket list for Bonaire to do! Me+husband+11 yo son have had a wonderful sunset dinner! Unlimited drinks and delicious tuna sushi for appetizer, steak (very tender and tasty) with chimichurri sauce (best chim I had!) plus pasta for main and applepie for dessert- it was superb! The boat itself is very impressive! It is a family operated tour and what a lovely family (Jiske, Sven and Peter), they treat their guests like family, shared stories about history of the boat- it was interesting, an honor and great privileged to experience to be in a boat where Jaques Cousteau (the legend of scuba diving) used for expedition before. The boat has a glass aquarium like where you can see lots of underwater different kind of fish, turtles etc by Klein Bonaire (small island few mins away from the mainland) We also snorkled for few minutes- was awesome! Happy time watching the sunset with great laughters/humour amongst guests and hosts! Definitely will do again when we’re back in Bonaire. Thank you Jiske and family for the laughters, kindness and warm welcome! You are an amazing host!
This excursion was fantastic! The family that owns the boat is so kind, helpful, friendly! They kept bringing us snacks and drinks and ensuring we were comfortable. The dinner was delicious - gourmet! The boat is comfortable and relaxing with comfy pillows to lounge on, air conditioned inside, table for eating. The views are beautiful. There is an amazing underwater view as well with the glass bottom, like a submarine! I wanted to live on this boat! I’ll definitely go back! Highly recommended!!
First of all, a very special boat. A real research boat, older, a different experience than the other (sailing) boats. You hear the story of Jacques Cousteau and the history of the Aquaspace, which immediately gives it a personal touch. The crew is extremely passionate. The hospitality is outstanding, the atmosphere is relaxed. It is very welcoming and the service could not be better. Drinks are offered continuously and the food (including picanha from the BQQ and homemade apple pie) was delicious. They spent two years working on the boat before they could sail and that effort is noticeable: they go out of their way to give you a wonderful afternoon. The experience with the aquarium below is great. My partner, my father and I went on this tour together. My father is not much into snorkeling while he enjoys photography and the underwater world. But this would have been great for my nephew as well, with an aquarium like this, he would have feasted his eyes. We sailed along the reef of Klein Bonaire and saw beautiful fish and turtles. We docked somewhere else and those who wanted to could snorkel. At sunset we sailed back to the mooring. The atmosphere, the hospitality, the good food, the special sailboat and that it has something for everyone: highly recommended!
Today we did a fantastic beautiful boat and snorkeling tour with Jiska and Peter. First a bit of sailing, then you could go down into the boat to see the coral underwater through a glass dome that is underwater, for those who don't want a wetsuit. You can also just snorkel at Andrea 1 where the boat is anchored. A three-course dinner was made on the boat, I found it the tastiest dinner I had this week! Jiske and Peter were also very friendly and enthusiastic! Thank you. Greetings Marc, Monique, Sarie and Wim.
