Itinerary
Our driver will pick you up from the arranged place (eg. hotel / apartment). You will then be transferred to the place of your destination. He will then wait until you have finished sightseeing and drive you back to your place of stay in Krakow. Wieliczka Salt Mine is located just 15 km (+-10 miles) from the city center of Kraków and is certainly one of the most often visited places in Poland. This is the oldest and the only salt mine in the world, which is operating with no interruption since the Middle Ages.To distinguish this wonderful place UNESCO added Wieliczka to its First World List of Cultural and Natural Heritage in 1978 together with only 11 different places on Earth. Here you can find lots of underground caves, chambers and even a lakes. The total length of the mine is about 300km (186 miles) on 9 level, of which deepest reaches 327m (357 yards). You can see here how through the centuries people have perfected the art of mining.

Booked through company who organized our airport and local transfers. Did a price comparison and they included Krakow return transfer in price which others of an equivalent price did not. Tour of mines was with a large group other Brits. All the tours seemed identical and you have a registered guide. You are all miked up so you hear everything. Tour and guide was great! Cant fail to be impressed by the size of the mines. Recommend.
Well organised tour. Good driver, comfortable and clean van. Would recommend for sure!
I did the Salt Mine tour and had Adam as my driver it was very well organized. Really enjoyed the tour and Adam made my experience even better.
I really enjoyed my family vacation the service is excellent they really know how to respect clients and they are very educated about the trip. I can really recommend them with 5 star😘!!!
We just returned from salt mine tour and it was absolutely magical. Salt mine is a gem and it’s worth visiting. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, fun and attentive to every detail. The pace was perfect, and we felt like we were exploring with a friend rather than a tour operator. Highly recommend!
For a group of 8 friends, the transportation was perfect. Prompt pick up at our apartment in a nice mercedes people carrier, a friendly driver and good communication throughout. Our tour tickets were given to us by the driver so the booking was all sorted for us. Would thoroughly recommend
This organisation of this trip was superb - our driver couldn’t be more courteous and helpful the communication was personal and reassuring -I will be recommending this company to all my family and friends travelling to Poland!
Driver waited on side of hotel instead of in front and seemed irritated we didnt see her. Wanted US to FIND HER after tour even after dropping her our pin. I expected she would know exactly where we would be exiting tour. Stood in rain waiting.
It was a very informative trip and our guide, Renate was very knowledgeable and passionate about the tour. It was amazing to see the Chapel and the sculptures below the surface but surreal to be so far underground and have a cafe, restaurant, toilets etc. The elevator back to the surface was quite an experience, thank goodness we are not claustrophobic! Really worth the visit!
Really worth booking g the small group private transfers with Wictoria. She arranged a hotel pick up for the 7 of us in our group and also arranged our tickets in advance. The salt mines are about 30/40 mins from Krakow and well worth a visit. They are a world heritage site for very good reasons and are beautifully presented.
Piter the driver messaged us before pickup with details of the vehicle etc. He was very informative and provided details on points of interest en-route. He was very engaging with the group and gave lots of information. The salt mine tour is excellent, lots of walking and steps to navigate which could be challenging if you are not very mobile. Some stunning views and interesting facts about its history by the English speaking guide. The lift back up to the surface is very snug and an eye opener! Highly recommended tour!
Well organised trip , picked up found the corner from the hotel . Salt mines was an Amazing place to visit , really well organised , short journey from the centre of Krakow and we would recommend people to go and see this memorable place.
We contacted to arrange a private taxi to the Salt Mines and were quoted a good price which included our own driver and tickets for an escorted tour of the salt mine. Our driver Adam was lovely very friendly and knowledgeable. He took us to the Salt Mine and showed us where to go and waited for us whilst we went on the tour. He recommended a couple of markets to go to on the way back in the Jewish Quarter so we took him up on it and got him to drop us off. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a private taxi company
Driver collected on time. Good communication by WhatsApp prior to pick up. Logistics all worked well. Driver spoke English. The tour was very well arranged, no wait to go in. Tour guide very knowledgeable. An excellent tour.
Excellent tour of the salt mine, the transfers to and from Krakow outside our apartment was top notch. The salt mine is stunning, well worth the visit. Top tip, wear some sturdy and comfy shoes as there is a lot of walking. Also take some cash as some of the vendors outside don't do card. The gift shop in the mine has some excellent keepsakes and are very well priced.
Tour operator was punctual and professional and the mine is only a short drive outside Krakow so doesn't take up a full day. Not certain whether it was Independence Day weekend but the wait at the mines was fairly long and the tours felt overbooked. Our English guide Natalia was lovely and informative but the tour groups were so tightly packed one after another that we frequently weren't able to hear her over the voice of the guide in the group following us. Venue itself is spectacular, wonderful experience and so interesting to learn the history but would like to have visited on a less busy day.
Today we had a trip to wieliczka beautiful place the organization was very good via whatsapp. Wiktoria was very helpful and organized. Our driver was experienced and had a lot of knowledge. I highly recommend this company to everyone
The saltmine is beautiful to see but make sure you are fit , as you walk down many wooden steps to get to all the delights ! The sculpture made from salt are amazing and the story of the saltmine is just fantastic. Worth a visit ! But remember you have to walk a great depth to get there . The driver will drop you off and you will wait in a queue, to be taken into the saltmine to meet your guid who speaks very good English. Enjoy 😉
First class organisation, clear communications regarding pick up, bang on time, all tickets sorted, wouldn’t hesitate to recommend, Wiktoria our driver is a gem.
This was my 3rd visit to since 2022 and my 2nd time using this company. They are absolutely amazing. We had absolutely no issues and will absolutely use this company again.
Auschwitz -Krakowtours.com sourced our tickets and arranged all the transport , supplying lovely clean vehicles with really nice drivers . Our guide was all arranged as well and we ended up having a wonderful tour of the salt mines , it really is worth the walking to see the vast size of this place and the history within . On exiting our driver was there and whisked is back to Krakow to our hotel while pointing out the various landmarks along the way , all in all a really great trip and a big thank you to Victoria for arranging everything .
Absolutely stunning place, highly recommended…. Great organised tour only disadvantage was it took a while to get out
A must see attraction in Krakow. Our driver, Adam, from Discover Cracow helped us add this to our itinerary. In addition, he took us to the Jewish quarter and after we walked onto the incredible Main Square, he picked us up when we were ready.
What a place, if you don't mind doing A LOT of walking, this is well worth a visit. All the amazing things you see were built and carved by miners by choice.
The Krakow salt mines in Wieliczka are impressive: immense galleries as far as the eye can see, scenery entirely sculpted in salt, a veritable underground life is organized just a few metres below our feet!
The visit to the salt mines was for a family of five. We were picked up at our apartment taken to the salt mines given our tickets and collected promptly after . . All was well organised - a very good company to deal with
We booked a private transfer with group tour in English. Our driver Karol arrived on time and we had excellent communications from Wiktoria. Car was comfortable and we arrived in plenty of time for the tour to start. There are hundreds of stairs to descend down at the very beginning of the tour and it’s a long walk round the mine. The tour was good and the guide gave us lots of interesting facts about the mine. It’s like a museum down there with models depicting what life was like. When our tour had finished Karol was waiting for us to take us back into Krakow. Overall a very enjoyable and pleasant experience from Adam and his team. Would recommend.
There was a marathon on when we were travelling to the Salt mines so the bus was late in arriving to pick us up but the efficient what’s app communication from the tours office was very reassuring. The salt mines are amazing, the tour guides very knowledgeable and the whole experience one to be recommended
Wonderful experience. Incredibly interesting. Marvel of engineering. Just the WOW factor. Highly recommend visiting the salt mines it’s a MUST do if your visiting Kracow.
Friendly professional driver, lovely well looked after clean car would definitely recommend, the whole family enjoyed the salt mine
What an experience!! The Salt Mines were indeed spectacular and well worth the visit. Our guide Symon was excellent and had a fantastic sense of humour too. Lots of walking so good for those step counters!!
Amazing place, guide was excellent, very informative about the history of the mine. A beautiful Chapel built with some great artwork. Well worth a visit.
Sorted out via Wiktoria, car and driver very good ( highly recommend using her ( was given her number in case of issues, none)). As for the tour, it's my third time and it's truly mind blowing. Don't think that it's another hole in the ground. It has UNESCO status.
Karol was our driver on the day and arrived at hotel to pick us up. He was very punctual and so helpful. He pointed out areas of interest to us along the way which we wouldn’t have known about but found very interesting. He was waiting for us when we came out and everything just ran so smoothly. Highly recommend using this company. They make your trip run so smoothly
What an interesting place to visit - so much information and it's hard to get your head around the fact that we only saw 1% of what has been excavated. We went on a small bus and the pick up was easy as our driver was expecting us. We would definitely recommend visiting.
Perfect services, our driver was very frendly and helpfull. I recommend to everyone!! Kraków is lovely
Thoroughly enjoyed the salt mine. Tour guide was very good and had a superb sense of humour which always makes trips like this so much more enjoyable . Our driver Koral was on time. Polite and a lovely clean easy transfer to and from our hotel. Thank you for a great day. Highly recommended. John Lisa Paul and Sarah
It was a great day. A very beautiful sight that I will remember for the rest of my life. Adam our driver recommended this trip to us and it was really worth it. I am glad that your company could accompany me during my stay in Krakow because thanks to you our stay in Krakow was successful
The salt mine is sensational! Not for nothing is it one of the original 12 Unesco World Heritage sights (there are thousands nowadays). Massive underground chasms created where salt has been mined for hundreds of years on an industrial scale have been transformed into cathedrals, dining halls, art installations all connected by an extraordinary web of tunnels. it's quite simply magnificent and led by a very knowledgable local guide. The transport side of things is somewhat less impressive. The communication and organisation works well during the booking process and the minibus turned up on time. However there was no guide on the minibus and the slightly beligerent driver spoke no English so it was all a bit haphazard: we all also had to suffer his choice of Europop music on the tinny stereo. We arrived at the museum after a 25 minute drive and the driver led us to the entrance and then disappeared leaving us standing around rather bemused. After 15-20 minutes he reappeared and handed out entry tickets and then led us to another area where we stood around confused again until the charming official guide from the Salt Mine turned up and led us on our way. From the moment she took charge it was great. Had the whole process been explained to us better (or at all) we could perhaps have used the waiting time and gone and got coffees or something. The transport company would do well to take note for the future that it needs to give its customers more information. However, don't let that put you off, the Salt Mine is a great visit.
Great experience! Pickup and dropoff were done on time and the driver was professional. The tour guide was excellent - she was fluent in English, very kind and funny as well :) she thoroughly explained all the chambers and the significance of the monument and made the trip enjoyable. Thank you!
I recommend everyone a trip to the salt mine! It’s a wonderful place that will stay in my memory forever. A trip suitable for all ages. Our guide was very nice and adaptable to our blunt walking. Our driver was also professional with very good English. Everything was perfect
This place is really worth seeing while in Poland! Great experience. Great emotions, the guide was very good at telling about the history of this place. The whole trip was very well and professionally organized
Adam was really great! He drove us straight to the mines and then dropped us off exactly where we wanted to go when we finished. He also gave little tidbits of information on the history of the city and different landmarks. He also gave a lot of food recommendations.
The trip to the salt mine is brilliant! It is located very close to the center of Krakow. The entire trip takes approximately 3/4 hour. Our driver was punctual and very nice. Don't hesitate and book every trip with this company!!!! I'm looking forward to seeing you again
Really enjoyed this trip, the mines are a must see, we were picked up from our accomodation by Adam's taxis (by Adam himself) very pleasant guide, he was very knowledgeable and very enthusiastic about giving us the best experience in Krakow, we used this company for all of our trips (Auschwitz, Airport transfers etc) we had other drivers for these tours ( mainly Bartek who took us to Auswitz and waited while we did the tours) all of Adam's drivers were knowledgeable and very polite and we would not hesitate to use them again should we visit Krakow again 👍🏻
It was a really great trip. A very beautiful place. I recommend it to anyone who wants to go there. People working in this company are helpful
Fast communication, very good organization, everything on time, driver with very good English, very helpful and organized company Adam is very nice guy
I recommend it to everyone! Trip to auschwitz and the services of this company are wonderful. I also revommend everyone a trip to the salt mine. For families with children, I recommend the Energylandia amusement park! See you next time
Fascinating place full of history and interest. Tours run like a production line with one following on the heels of the previous. Guides are pot luck: ours had a faint voice and a heavy accent, began speaking before everyone had caught up, with the result that no-one bothered to listen as they couldn't understand most of it. Not suitable if you don't have strong legs: many, many steps down leading to major calf ache, lots of walking. Limited time frame to buy souvenirs, no opportunity to buy literature. Still worth a visit though.
