This was a good overview walking tour of the Jewish Quarter in Krakow. The guide took us to the main attractions and discussed them. The style was a bit mechanical. For the Schindler's Museum I would not do a guide. The museum is really comprehensive. You could spend at least a half day there. Because of the time limit on the guided portion I felt we were rushed. This is not the guide's fault. It is more of a preference of how I would do the museum.

Itinerary
Kazimierz Jewish Quarter Enter Kazimierz, one of Kraków’s most evocative neighborhoods. Once a vibrant center of Jewish life, it now reflects centuries of faith, tradition, and close-knit community. Walk its atmospheric streets, pass historic synagogues, and discover a place where Jewish and Christian cultures developed side by side. The tour begins on Szeroka Street, the historic heart of Kazimierz, framed by synagogues and townhouses dating back to the 16th–18th centuries. You will see the Old Synagogue, the oldest preserved synagogue in Poland, today a museum of Jewish history. The route continues past the Remuh Synagogue and Cemetery, one of the most important Jewish religious sites in the country. You will also pass the Kupa Synagogue, once serving the poorest residents, and the Tempel Synagogue, now an active center of cultural life. This walking tour captures the spirit of Kazimierz — a district where traces of everyday life, prayer, and resilience are still present.
Visit Schindler’s Enamel Factory, today one of Kraków’s most visited and moving museums, and step into the story of a man whose actions made history. With a licensed expert guide, you’ll explore the acclaimed exhibition “Kraków under Nazi Occupation 1939–1945” through the lens of Oskar Schindler’s extraordinary life. This is the place where Schindler employed Jewish workers and used his position, influence, and resources to protect them from deportation. More than a thousand men and women survived thanks to his courage and determination. As you walk through the exibition, your guide will bring to life the stories of those he saved, often called “Schindlerjuden,” whose testimony continues to resonate across generations. Photographs, personal objects, and reconstructed streets show the fear, uncertainty, and daily struggles faced by the city’s inhabitants. Within this backdrop of oppression, Schindler’s story emerges as one of humanity and hope.

A superb tour of the Old Jewish Quarter in Krakow and a fascinating tour of the Oskar Schindler Museum. Both were booked through Viator and were well managed from start to finish. The Tour Guide was friendly and informative and spoke very good English. Regretfully neither Viator not the Tour Guide could pre-arrange the weather but the day was not a waste of time and it did not dampen our spirits.
This tour is a great choice if you’re looking for historical insight into World War II from Poland’s perspective, particularly regarding the Jewish population in Krakow. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I especially appreciated how she repeated key facts—it really helped the information stick, especially for the kids. However, I rated this tour 3 stars because of a bait-and-switch by the tour company. Despite being advertised as a tour of Schindler’s Factory, it is not. The actual factory was taken over by the state and now functions as an art museum, which is not included in the tour. Schindler had liquidated the factory before leaving, and today, only one pot and his administrative office remain. What this tour actually covers is the administrative side of the factory, which has been converted into a World War II museum.
Fascinating look at Jewish life in Krakow before and after World War II. Unlike in Warsaw, much of the old Jewish quarter physically survives. The guide was excellent. However, the Schindler tour was a disappointment. The Schindler museum was really focused on Krakow and the Jews during World War II with relatively little to do with Schindler and his factory.
Signing up for this tour is a great way to get to see historic points of interest and skip the (very long) line at the Schindler museum. The people of Krakow have done a magnificent job of cultivating an experience that walks you through the tragic days from the Nazi invasion through liberation. Do not miss this tour, it is worth every minute!
Our tour guide Margaret was brilliant. Her local knowledge and personal experience of life in Poland was fascinating. Thoroughly recommend this tour. The Schindler factory tour was not what I expected but we enjoyed it regardless.
Excellent tour guide -very interesting stories, very entertaining! The museum is very well done. Don’t go without a guide.
We went on a tour with Helena to the Jewish Quarter and the Shindlers factory we were hooked! So much so we stayed another hour to explore the Ghetto with her…. Her passion to educate around the despair and devastation for all involved in the time of the Nazi occupation made it emotional for us, we thought we knew most of what happened here… oh how wrong we were! So much to learn in this trip about Poland, Jewish faith, beautiful buildings, story’s both devastating and inspiring, Thankyou Helena for such an detailed and informative insightful tour, we would recommend you book this tour!!
A great opportunity to learn about the history of the Jewish people in Krakow. I wish I had more time to explore the individual synagogues but our tour guide Filipe was very helpful in sharing images about how the area used to look and even some images of shots filmed during Schindler's List, even sharing that Spielberg made some "creative" decisions around location. The Schindler museum was great as well and told a larger story of the Holocaust beyond just Schindler.
Strolling through Kazimierz’s vibrant streets gives you a glimpse into its rich Jewish history, while the Schindler’s Factory Museum takes you on an emotional journey through Kraków during WWII. This tour is both thought-provoking and memorable, weaving culture and history into a truly unforgettable experience.
This was a fantastic tour, Joanna was really informative and shared so much history, it was a great way to get to know the city and some of its horrific and unjust past.
Great team from when the bus picked us up. A very informative tour about a horrific period of history. Ziggy was a fantastic guide.
The tour was really interesting and our guide was so knowledgeable. There was so much history to learn about and Schindlers factory guide was excellent!
Our guide was extremely well versed in the history of the subject at hand. She answered all our questions in depth. which was appreciated . I recommended this tour.
Best tour by far!! Our guide was so knowledgeable and had so many stories from her past that made the experience special.
Just brilliant guide amazing. Realky enjoyed the information. The walk arround the jewish getto. Such a sad turn of events
Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, well educated and has first hand experience. Her family had some involvement with the rescuing of Jews. Everything you need and want to know is on this tour.
Dominika arrived on time at 2.20, as agreed. She was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. The first part of the trip was easy-paced. Dominika explained all aspects of the area very well. For the trip to Schindler's factory, it would have possibly been nice to have more time, but we knew time would be limited. Very enjoyable nonetheless.
Very interesting and the guide was so friendly and knowledgeable. Very busy and it was a very hot day.
Janna was kind and informative. She showed us many cultural traditions in the Jewish Quarter. She was glad to answer any questions we asked. She shared a lot of facts, legends and lore. When we walked through the Jewish Ghetto she identified different buildings and we saw part of the wall surrounding the ghetto. Thanks for a great tour!
Very knowledgeable guide who delivered excellent tours of the Jewish quarter and factory. The walking was at a comfortable pace and overall was excellent value for money
Our Guide Magda arrived on time at the meeting Point at the Old Synagogue. She was very knowledgeable and shared lots of points of history during the walk around the Jewish Quarter before taking us through Hero Square and on to Schindler's Factory Tour. Magda was also the Tour Guide in Schindler's Factory and again she was very knowledgeable and made the Tour very interesting. This was approx 4.5 hours of walking but well worth it.
Barbara was the perfect guide. No matter what I asked she always knew everything to give me a full appreciation of the history behind the tour. I was very lucky to have her to myself for the Jewish quarter part of the tour and it was just wonderful. The factory was a bit uncomfortable. As a museum it was detailed, comprehensive and interesting but I found the amount of nazi regalia repellent. Which is not a complaint, I can't think if a better place to put it, but it was deeply unnerving. The tour was a bit too big for me, with too many people so I ended up moving ahead at my own pace . Thanks Barbara for the adventure 😀
My wife and I found this walking tour very informative and interesting. Our guide was spoke excellent English, spoke clearly and was very easy to understand. It was interesting to hear about the way that the Jewish people were treated before the infamous holocaust. The exhibition in the factory office building was also very informative and moving. However, you do not visit the factory itself, which was next door. Do not let that put you off going; just don’t expect to tour a factory.
Really excellent guide with huge knowledge and excellent communication skills Very enjoyable tournament
Guide was engaging with fabulous English. He had amazing knowledge of the history of krakow but also provided information of up to date places to go.
The guide was so enthusiastic. Loved Schindler’s factory!! So tragic but an amazing tour and learnt so much
Guide was extremely informative and knowledgeable. We had a small group for the walking tour but this did increase in size as more people joined us a Schindler’s factory. I would say this is the only downside.
The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, made friends, and tried to include everyone on the tour. She is very personable, and you can tell she does the tours with a deep sense of importance to sure people what happened.
Very interesting and formative tour with excellent guide although tour of Schindler's factory had too many of us.( Kazimierz 6 people whereas factory tour approx 15 to 20 )
We had a marvellous guide in Barbara she was so informative and friendly It was a small group size(8) which made asking questions so easy and personal Particularly around Schindlers factory We then had a tour of the Ghetto area which opened our eyes on how the Jews were really treated by the Nazis there and she was able to tell us many stories of individual families It’s all very emotional but well worth it
Enthusiastic host! Really detailed guide that gets you deep into the grit of pre German Krakow and during the occupation and subsequent horrors. I highly recommend this tour as it helps you understand the full timeline of events.
An informative short walk by a very knowledgeable guide. A very old part of krakow that not only had a long past but recently was involved in a recent event.
I get well on time for the meeting, but there were loads of people. It would have been helpful that the Guide would have raised that they were on the tour as an ENGLISH speaking group. No I was thinking “Where is my Group ?”. But NO there was no idea that this view should be recognised. So I went away frustrated, disappointed and let down.
My husband and I had a good time and learned a lot on this tour! The tour is 3,5h long so make sure you have good shoes for walking.
Helen was such a wonderful host/guide. Really friendly and so knowledable. Only thing I would say is to set aside approx. 5 hours for the tour. The Musuem is PACKED.
We did the tour with Dominilka and she was was amazing. She had so much knowledge rg the history of Poland and the tour that we did which made the experience special. The only downside was that the Schindler's factory was very crowed when we did it but there is nothing the tour operator can do about it. Learned a lot, definitely recommend it.
Phil was absolutely brilliant, very knowledgeable and a lovely person ❤️ enjoyed our tour thoroughly and the church was astonishing⁹
The first part of the tour was through the Kazimierz Jewish quarter and our guide was very knowledgeable. Speed of the walk was perfect. We did the tour during rain, but it did not bother us much as there is so much to see and learn, and part of the walk was inside a synagogue, which was a very nice experience. The tour continued with a visit to Schindler’s factory. There were a lot of people but having our guide made it easy to have a focused tour in a relatively short time frame. If time permits, I would recommend a second visit to the museum afterwards, but the tour guide already explains a lot of what there is to see. Overall a highly recommended tour.
Interesting tour with a brilliant guide. The area was very busy with other tours, but a nice relaxed pace
The knowledge shown by our guide, Phillip. He was with us all day. I really enjoyed the Schindler factory. The timeline presentation was really effective and brought it all to life.
Our guide Phil was excellent extremely informative, we were given local history and gave us insight into Polish culture.
Excellent tour. Guide was very good. Just wish we could of gone round the tour Schindler again. Not alot of time to have a look
I really enjoyed this tour as it is important to learn about the Jewish Quarter and how life was back then before the Nazis invaded Poland. I enjoyed the factory and walking tour to hear all about the history! Highly recommend!
Our guide Joanna was excellent guide. She knew her stuff and put it over in a friendly and informative way. The tour itself was very educational and I'd thoroughly recommend it.
Anja was an amazing tour hostess. Her knowledge of the Jewish Quarter and Schindlers Factory was amazing. She was welcoming and friendly. She even greeted all of us with a friendly hello and explained everything we were doing before we started.
GREAT TOUR GUIDE. Informative, animated and well spoken. Gave a true feeling for the issues and suffering that the residents felt.
Our guide was highly knowledgeable and passionate about her Polish heritage and history. We received a thorough education about the Jewish Quarter, Kazimierz, Schindler’s Factory, and the Ghetto. Amazing tour!!!
Excellent walking tour. Knowledgeable guide and well paced with a good break in the middle. Enjoyed the restaurant recommendations by the guide. Highly recommend this trip.
Great tour including Schindler museum. Hottest day of the year so it was tough at times.. learnt a lot.
