The Wieliczka Salt Mine is one of the most outstanding attractions in Europe that anyone visiting Kraków should see. The route through the mine leads through the galleries and chambers on three levels, all of these from 210 to 440 feet below the ground and including the unique and splendidly adorned Chapel of the Blessed Kinga. The route is 1.5 miles long and the tour starts by descending 400 steps down one of the main shafts (journey back by elevator). This is just a small part of the total labyrinth, which has a total of 9 levels and 180miles of corridors.
NOTE: Due to the number of steps, this excursion is not recommended for persons with walking disabilities.
