Really enjoyed this tour! I learned a lot about Kraków’s history (and Poland’s history in general) and really appreciated getting to know more about its architecture, famous figures, and more. Our guide, Anna, was absolutely wonderful and did a great job guiding us through the city. It was a little confusing to find the correct group at the meeting place, but it was quickly sorted out and I didn’t have any other issues the rest of the tour. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Krakow!
Great tour, really enjoyed the whole experience. The tour guide was great and very knowledgeable about the history of Poland, would definitely recommend this tour.
Damien was very well informed and spoke English perfectly. He waa engaging and friendly with a sense of humour.
Excellent tour guide!! We have taken over 15 Viatour tours and “Big Tom” was one of the best guides we have ever had. He studied history in college so he had a wonderful insight on the historical significance of the places he showed us. Humorous, excellent English overall a nice guy to spend a couple of hours with. Exquisite timing for animated clock at Collegium Maius.
We joined the tour on the day without any planing. We have just arrived from the airport and was wondering around the park when I saw the chap with the umbrella and I asked my husband if he wants us to join. We had Jacob I think, and the tour took 2.5hours starting from Barbikan and finishing at the Wawel Castle. There was a lot of info to digest, and a lot of walking, so defo prepare good shoes. The weather was great and the guide was very informative.
Easy to find tour operator. Viator keep in contact with me as to when and where to meet. Reminded me of my tour coming up. The tour guide was very knowledgeable but alot we couldn't hear. I would suggest headsets and I'm not old. The stops were nice especially the one at the coffee shop because it was so cold. The Hot chocolate there was phenomenal. Tour guide gave us additional recommendations for food, which we did and had some great local boiled Perogi.
This walking tour was extremely interesting. Our guide, Damien, proved to be both informative and entertaining. He added great color to the history of Krakow. I would highly recommend doing this tour.
Great tour. However I was expecting a tour of the actual castle to be included but the tour takes you to the grounds. Great information about the history of Poland. Kept a good pace too. Definitely recommend just be aware that it doesn't include the castle.
Our guide was amazing. He was informative and entertaining at the same time. He was engaging and showed us parts of the city we would never have thought of looking at before
Krakow has history written everywhere, walk into the castle grounds , we booked direct with the castle reasonable. They supplied us with headset and receiver to listen to in your own languages you proceed in the direction stated and every room you are told all about the history and the make up of the rooms something worth a visit. I have added photos but I took lots more
This was very interesting and informative. Plus our guide was really enthusiastic! Can’t recall name but he was the skinny, long-haired dude with sandals and a goatee.
Excellent guide with a thorough knowledge of the city’s history delivered in a witty way.
Really informative tour, guide very knowledgeable.
Really excellent tour guide and one of the best walking tours i have had.
Natalia our guide was brilliant. Very informative and kept everyone's attention. Well worth booking.
This tour was an excellent tour of the old town and provided a history of the city while seeing the sites. Anna was our tour guide and she was very knowledgeable and helpful. We'd recommend this tour.
excellent guide. he was very knowledgeable of all krakow history and culture. this tour is a must if you want a great overview but also details
Nice intro to Krakow on my first day in the city. Entry to Wawel castle not included. Must purchase separately
Vero was a great tour guide. I felt like I had a good understanding of Old Town after the tour despite only getting 2.5 hours worth of the towns history! She had great local recommendations within old town for dinner, one of which I ate at last night. Great atmosphere and food!
Annia was a perfect example of what a tour guide should be , she engaged with all of the guests and was delighted to share her experience of this beautiful city Krakow We had to leave 30 minutes before our tour ended because of travel reasons, which wasn’t her fault We where sorry about this as we had everything and more from this tour highly recommend
Our guide Michal was very knowledgeable and took us to some interesting places. Unfortunately one of the other guests brought a dog to the tour. Michal didn’t check if we were all comfortable around dogs or if anyone had any allergies. The dog was on an extendable lead and at every stop the owner let it sniff around the other guests so we had to keep moving away from it as it made us feel uncomfortable. If we had known that dogs were allowed, we wouldn’t have booked on this tour.
make sure you know the exact meeting place and time we almost were late we wete in wrong spot pawel the tour guide very well informed very friendly easy to speak with made us laugh totallty enjoyed our guided tour
Great tour, very informative. As a Polish tourist I really enjoyed how Michał presented the entire history of Kraków. He even answered our own questions we had in mind! 2.5 hours went by quickly. I'd go again
Excellent tour with Magda. Just be aware it goes on slightly longer than advertised, we had to leave before the end of the tour.
A very informative and interesting tour. The tour guide was fulll of amazing g knowledge. Very enjoyable
A superbly informative tour with an exceptionally knowledgable guide. Excellent value for money and really interesting.
Great guide,Tom very well spoken English, excellent insight into the history of Old Town Krakow, all at a steady pace, but quite a few steps up to the castle at the end of the tour
Excellent, beautiful and we had a great speaker. Maybe next year I could do another walking tour with the same company.
We absolutely loved this walking tour, and a huge part of that was our wonderful guide, Ania. From the very beginning, Ania was warm, welcoming, incredibly knowledgeable, and had a fantastic sense of humour. She struck the perfect balance between sharing fascinating history and keeping the tour light-hearted and engaging. Before we knew it, the two hours had flown by! Ania brought Kraków to life. Her passion for the city’s history was infectious, especially when talking about the Jagiellonian University and the important role education has played in shaping Kraków over the centuries. It was clear how much she loves her city, and that enthusiasm made every stop even more interesting. One of the most memorable parts of the tour was hearing Ania’s own family’s experiences during the Second World War. That personal perspective added so much depth and meaning to the history and made it feel incredibly real. It was a privilege to hear those stories from someone whose own family had lived through such an important period. The walk itself was relaxed and enjoyable. Although we covered plenty of ground, it never felt strenuous, and there were lots of opportunities to stop, take in the beautiful surroundings, and ask questions. We especially enjoyed visiting the café within the university, something we would never have discovered on our own. Ania also shared brilliant recommendations for places to visit, things to do, and hidden gems around the city, making this much more than just a history tour. We learned about the castle, the Main Market Square, the fascinating Underground Museum, and so many little details about Kraków that we would otherwise have missed. If you’re visiting Kraków, I would recommend doing this tour at the beginning of your stay. It gives you a wonderful introduction to the city, helps you understand its rich history, and leaves you with plenty of ideas for the rest of your visit. A huge thank you to Ania for making the experience so enjoyable. Her knowledge, warmth, humour, and passion made this one of the highlights of our trip. We would recommend this tour without hesitation. Five stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I wanted to do a walking tour to get oriented and this tour did exactly that plus more. Jacob was an excellent guide as he led us through the old town area while introducing us to Poland's history and then delving further into Krakow's history. He also pointed out places of interest for further exploration.
Excellent tour. Our guide was very friendly and informative. Loved hearing about the history and sites of old town
Did this walking tour with family of 4 (kids 11 and 13) with tour guide Big Tom. Found it very informative and Big Tom was able to provide a lot of information and was also quite funny. Would highly recommend.
Excellent tour! I learned so much about the city and country. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable.
Great overall walking tour. Our guide, Ania, was very knowledgeable and personable. Highly recommend.
Amazing tour guide. I really needed to use the bathroom and he knew of a spot and saved me.
Excellent tour, our guide “Big Tom” is very knowledgeable. Highly recommend this to start off a trip in beautiful Krakow.
Very informative and good tour. Just to flag if booking on a TripAdvisor it gives the meeting point as your hotel which really confused me. Knew it couldnt be right so had to search to find actual meeting point.
Great tour with Anna, very informative guide!
This tour is a great introduction to Kraków’s place in Polish history. I recommend it as a beginning to your visit. Our guide Max was very knowledgeable and personable. The walking is not too hard because of the stops.
The leader will impart a huge amount of information on the history of Krakow and Poland, showing his group many interesting buildings.
We booked a 2.5 hour walking tour to hopefully see the best sights in Krakow Old Town. We met Max promptly at 10am. Max is a very, very knowledgeable man and he told us about the history of Krakow and Poland in great detail. We also visited some areas we would not have found on our own. Unfortunately this meant standing still for a lot of the tour and listening, max did take questions and provided good answers. We would have rather walked more and seen a few more of the sights. Unsure that a 20-25 minute coffee/toilet break was necessary in the University. I now know much more about the history of the area and enjoyed listening to Max, but have a sore back from standing uncomfortably still for long periods.
Great tour guide Matthew was very friendly and informative! Time ran over a little but this is because Matthew was taking his time in making sure we all were all enjoying the tour. Would highly recommend.
Our guide was great. Super informative, knowledgeable, and funny. Showed us some great sites while providing the history as well.
The market square is really nice but not very colorful like Poznan and Wroclaw.
Jacob was outstanding. It was our favorite thing we did in Krakow and wish we had time for another tour with him. Just the right mixture of history, current perspective, and humor. Great tour!
Informative and engaging tour. A great orientation to the city and its history. Highly recommend.
Nice experience, our guide Chris was very knowledgeable and showed immense pride in what he was doing for us today. We really appreciated him sharing with us his knowledge.
Chris was wonderful— informative, engaging and very friendly.
Jack was terrific. What a lovely time, full of history and insights. Plus he is very funny, would happily have another tour!
