They were selling tickets to the museum for dates that the museum was closed. The instructions said to pick up a paper voucher but it wasn't true and cost me extra time, only to find out that the museum wasn't even open anyway

Great .. just needed more time ..museum closed at 4:00 pm today because of the holiday. We ate dinner at the Artesse which was the Czartoryski home .
We are not happy with the service provided by Discover Krakow. We rang them up to find out which was the nearest collection point to where we were. When we got there we were told that they had run out of 1 day city cards. They call another venue but their computers were down. So I called again Discover Cracow and after a long time holding the line, we were told to go to another point of collection in 30 minutes so they could deliver the cards. We finally got the City cards at nearly Midday. We were under the impression that having this pass meant free entry and queue jumping. However, at Schindler's museum we had to queue for an hour under the baking sun.
I spent a very enjoyable couple of hours here, on a Saturday afternoon. The exhibits include artefacts from the royal family, as well as ancient Greek sculptures. Included in the paintings are the Rembrandt and Da Vinci. As mentioned by others, I would recommend getting the audio guide.
This is much more than an art gallery. It is a history museum with fine exhibits, including Egyptian artefacts and many stunning exhibits dating back centuries. The museum itself is in a fine building with great facilities, including facilities for those with disabilities/mobility issues. Well worth a two-hour visit. I would highly recommend it. You don’t need to be a lover of art to enjoy a visit to this museum. Would strongly suggest that you pay the PLN 10 extra for the audio guide in English. It is of excellent quality and you will be lost without it. Photography is permitted (without flash).
Yes there is a da Vinci painting and Rembrandt painting and they are stunning to see in person. but there is SO much more! This museum has some amazing artwork and the museum itself is beautiful. I went on Tuesday (free) and paid for the audio tour. Even better they have a kids audio tour so my 5 year old did that one and she loved it! This is a can’t miss if you are Krakow. Took about 2 hours to complete.
We had the chance to see the main painting alone. So, if you can, try to reserve the visit at 10 am and then go straight to the DaVinci room (if you are interested). Then you can taste the rest of the museum, that is really interesting, with calm.
Very nice exhibition, set up in a way that gives the opportunity to really enjoy the great Leonardos work.
It's the 3rd da Vinci painting I've observed and I my mind it is the Best! Unlike the Mona Lisa where a protective shield has been placed in front of the painting thus difficult to see, the Lady with Ermine is displayed in a way the viewer can be very close with out crowds around. My husband and felt very privileged to view the masterpiece at a close range and linger for what felt like a long time! This was an ultimate experience in Krakow!
I got to the museum a little late, so I couldn't do most of it. But I went for Da Vinci's masterpiece, so , although sorry, not much was wasted. I found it funny (?) that you can't take a picture. whilst Mona Lisa's Louvre if winking for so many tourists' flashes. Polish are smarter. The keep a copy outside where you can take your picture beside it. What is to say about the painting? Who am I to add my judgement? Like everything else that is wortswhile, just go.
This is a must see for art lovers and visitors that appreciate the work of Leonardo da Vinci. It's a masterpiece on a solo exhibition with some background information about the painting itself...what more do you need? We visited on the 31st in the afternoon and it was quiet, just a small group of people were passing through. The museum offers other exhibitions, cafe and toilets on site as you would expect.
Amazing piece by the legendary artist. Very well showcased. It is very transcendental experience. A must see for every art lover.
This was very nice. We were able to get very close to the pictures.. no photos.. After the viewing, we went to two gallery rooms and then ecxtensive rooms with vintage furniture and clocks. Quite nice.. We only needed two hours. Cloakroom in the basement with free lockers..
Found in the National (Narodowe,to ease your finding it) Museum, Krakow,is (Cecilia Gallerani) Lady with an Ermine, a mistress of Ludovico Sforza, Duke of Milan, 15th Century. At the time, Leonardo da Vinci was working on creative projects for him, this being one of them.Google for a historical back catalogue of background, composition, analysis etc. My response to seeing this painting, one of the oh so few LdV portraits, was one of joy. I was already in love, but in the 'oil' flesh, she did not disappoint. For fear of sounding like an art historian, there is a gentleness, softness, sweetness in her gaze, but little of the intelligence ascribed to her by the one contemporary source. Again, see Google for interpretation. Whilst I was in attendance, there were at most 6 visitors to the darkened room she is displayed in. For me, how can this be? Krakow is a deservedly popular tourist destination, but this LdV doesn't seem to be on the Things to Do'.map, Why? Lack of awareness/marketing/interest? In my opinion, compared with the (heavily attended) Mona Lisa, Cecilia is more moving, more intriguing, more seductive (in terms of her charm). Perhaps 'Lady with an Ermine' is not a good title for this work? not appealing enough? (Perhaps a title of 'The Mistress' would do it)? Do go and see her, perhaps fall in love with her too. P.S.,The Fine Arts Gallery included in your ticket access, is well worth a visit..Play my favourite game of selecting one item from each cabinet you'd make houseroom for. OK, that means a very big house.
This special exhibition consists of one painting only. With a couple of posters with some descriptions. The painting itself is a masterpiece, but all together the experience is not marvelous. Especially when it's packed with tons of tourists' groups.
Da Vinci's masterpiece "Lady with Ermine" is an amazing jewel to discover and admire in the surprising Krakow. Her unbelievable expression is worth visiting the Exhibition.
This was the 1st time that I have seen a original DeVinci. " Lady with Ermine" is a beautiful painting and the gallery have done a great job in the way they have displayed it. Plenty of room and in a nice dark spot. I would highly recommend you take the time to visit this piece of art.
We took the opportunity of a free afternoon to go to the museum to see this masterpiece. I think that this is the only Leonardo in Central Europe. The painting and its display are wonderful; well worth making a special trip to see it.
Very interesting museum. The famous work by Leonardo Da Vinci is beautiful.
The museum is wonderful, full of paintings, tapestries, weapons and armor. There is not only the lady with the ermine, moreover splendid, as expected
The museum is located in the old town near the walls. The tour is a must-see to learn about the history of Poland. The visit lasts at least 2 or 3 hours. Each room has works of art, crafts, furniture and weapons. The most famous work inside is the Lady with an Ermine by Leonardo da Vinci. The audio guide is useful. Reservations are recommended. The museum very rich, beautiful and well-kept. Full of exhibits from various cultures. Worth a visit by Max two hours if you are in Krakow!
Visited Lady with ermine immediately Visitor sent me confirmation emails, step by step, with reminders, great experience .. They make you calm
Krakow is a charming town clean, with parks and many well-kept historic buildings. The Market Square is immense and offers several gatherings for dinner or a snack. A special visit is worth visiting the Czartoryski Museum with Leonardo da Vinci's famous painting The Lady with an Ermine placed in the last room of the tour.
Well-kept , interesting and centrally located museum The 3 addresses to collect the Card vouchers do not correspond to what is indicated in the reservation.
beautiful museum, well organized, with the possibility of guided tours. the visit was motivated by the vision of the Lady with the Ermine by Leonardo, but also the rest is worth it.
The address to get the City card was wrong. But the new address was not far away. Great museum. Various contents.
Nice museum, well maintained , with interactive experiences too. There are Etruscan, Greek, Egyptian and then famous works including the most famous Lady with an Ermine. Worth the visit
Really gorgeous museum, just a few steps from the old entrance door into town. There's a bit of everything from Egyptian sarcophagi to Renaissance paintings. Excellent audio guide in Italian. But, above all, you are enchanted in front of the magnificent "Lady with the Ermine" by Leonardo. Not to be missed.
Museum among the oldest in Krakow, where there are some exceptional masterpieces such as the Lady with an Ermine made by our great master Leonardo da Vinci. Unfortunately after the looting of wars it was taken from us. Exceptional experience
It was beautiful but you sold me a ticket with the city pass to see this painting and visit the museum while it was free that day (Tuesday 31 December). Abusive process!
The museum is very large. You can visit comfortably in two hours. The Lady with an Ermine has a dedicated room and is its main attraction. And it does not disappoint expectations. It is also very close to the main square, animated by a beautiful Christmas market, where you can taste the excellent local gastronomic specialties.
Really exciting to find yourself in front of this painting attributed to the great Leonardo, a painting kept inside a glass case and to which an entire room of the museum is dedicated. The room is almost dark, for those who want to photograph you can do it without flash.
I think most people go to this museum, they only go to see The Lady with the Ermine and, in fact, we went there too for that reason. It 'really a wonderful picture and definitely worth the visit, there are days that provide free admission. The line is long but runs fast enough and I assure you that the picture is worth the wait. Wonderful.
In this museum of Krakow are gathered a very heterogeneous set of works The presentation is modern well made and pleasant to look at. But this museum proceeds a treasure, one of 21 paintings of Leonardo da Vinci listed in the world and a very beautiful “lady with ermine” As the Michelin says "worth the trip"
Museum relapsed from elegant renovation of a historic building. Excellent staging of important historical and artistic finds. Excellent lighting of the works. The lady of the ermine leaves you breathless. Too bad for a bad indication of the route of the visit. However, the audio guide is excellent and is activated automatically when you change the room.
Very interesting visit. Exciting to be able to see the picture of the Lady with ermine so closely, although I expected it smaller as a painting. Almost like the Mona Lisa. Comunque consiglio una visita!
Really interesting museum, well managed and lasting just over an hour. Served by elevators, bathrooms and indoor bar! To visit!
Delightful and modern museum of small size, but not at all cramped. The pieces on display are all fine, but the Lady is frankly spectacular. Worth a visit to the museum and the city.
In the days before the visit I had consulted the museum website but, for Tuesday, the day with free admission, everything was "sold out". But back from Shindler's factory, since it was on the way to the hotel, why not try? And it was the classic hunchback hit. "And this is the museum with the Lady .... ?" - "Yes" - "Is admission free today?" - "Yes, but I have to buy you tickets anyway." And so here we are inside a really well-organized museum, with perhaps lesser-known paintings, but other really interesting finds. Then there is you, with a small room entirely dedicated, and seeing this work by Leonardo really sends you into ecstasy.
Excellent exhibition and the crown jewel is not in Italy, but in my dear Poland!! That's life! Plus the most beautiful Lady.
The visit to the museum must be done exclusively for Leonardo's painting, the rest is negligible but the price of the ticket is repaid amply by this masterpiece. The museum is a stone's throw from the central square.
In the historic center of Krakow just a few minutes from the Market Square the Czartoryski palace houses an excellent museum where you can appreciate a historical route of Poland, the visit fills with sensations and emotions, the levels are well organized with a variation of curated themed lights. The Lady with the Ermine by Leonardo da Vinci and the driving work of the museum, exceptional.
Pessima esperienza.
We came running from Auschwitz to see the lady with the ermine. We arrived at 17:42 begging the ticket office to let us in to admire the Tuscan wonder, just her, at least 2 minutes on the clock, paying, of course, the full amount. The lady not only denied us entry but was very rude and rude. Shame on you. I think he needs to change jobs. I would put a person a little more empathetic to the next.
The visit to the museum is worth the trip. Krakow is worth a visit anyway, it has a wonderful old town and so much history to tell! To see!
Obviously it is one of Leonardo Da Vinci's masterpieces and only for this reason it is worth going to see it. Place of honour for this unique painting in Leonardo’s exhibition. You can’t photograph, but there is a reproduction where you can do it.
Yet another masterpiece by our talented artist exhibited in a foreign land. Placed in a room dedicated only to this work, well lit. It was not crowded at all, there were no more than 10 visitors and you could observe this wonder for a long time. With the same ticket you can visit two other rooms: the first with objects and furniture of everyday life in Poland from the sixties going back in time, the second dedicated to armor and weapons from antiquity until the second conflict.
The painting is located at Aleja 3, Maja 1. It has a separate room and you can pay the entrance fee just to see the work. It is worth it because it is set up very well and gives prominence to the work.
Beautiful work and beautiful context in the Da Vinci Museum in Krakow: the painting was the only one in a room, well lit and very clearly visible! Congratulations!!
